I was always very "yuk" with this . However because of some "niche" fragrances that walk around and try to act all "Hey- I know I am synthetic; deal with it" that changes things! LOL. If this was made by Serge Lutens ..... I am now FINE with this but Silver Mountain Water ? nope. This is white metal all the way. GRADE: B. Longevity seems watery so treat this as a body spray.
Got this for my mom bc she previously bought the oil roll-on, which smelled amazing! The roll-on scent reminded me of the rich decadent 4711 fresh citrusy wateryness but with a slight creamy bath and body works lotion note despite not being listed in the official frag notes. The opening for the spray version, however, has a harsh gasoline/hairspray smell similar to MFK's Baccarat Rouge and its dupes. Maceration only helps with longevity and sillage but not to better the scent itself. 6/10
It opens with a sharp blast of lime, misc citrus, and a metallic aquatic vibe reminiscent of Creed Silver Mountain Water. As it dries down it goes through a white floral heart before settling into a clean, musky, still slightly floral powdery vague woods scent. It's important to note that this took about a month of maturation between my first paper spray and wanting to wear it because it was exceptionally harsh at first. However, it smooths out beautifully and is much nicer than its price point would suggest.
It’s Calvin Klein CK1
This smells like gin literally and I do not want to be smelling like that. Yikes.
I've had both the spray and roll-on for a few months now and they've really grown on me. It's a very simple, fresh but metallic fragrance at a ridiculously low price. I'm struggling to understand the reviewers who found it "repulsive" or "stomach-clenching" because, like I said, to me it's just a simple, fresh and inoffensive fragrance. I'd say it's suitable for any type of wear but particularly professional environments.
I was very excited to try this one (given my love of unisex, fresh fragrances and the comparisons to CK One), but upon first spray I’m immediately nauseated. I’m not sure if maceration will fix this, but there is a note my nose is not experienced enough to discern that feels cloying, heavy, making my jaw clench and my mouth water (and not in a good way). It smells very much like an alcoholic drink… a fragrant gin would be my best guess. I need to scrub this off of my wrist immediately before it makes me sick. I do not feel well. This would make for an extremely effective appetite suppressant.
These are the notes from the al reab website that are missing here: Top Notes: Mandarine, Bergamot, Green Tea, Middle Notes:Blackcurrant, Rose, Cyclamen, Jasmin, Base Notes:Sandalwood, Cederwood, Amber, Musk, The al rehab website shows a picture of a lime but doesn't mention it in name. I smell lime, rose, cyclamen and possibly amber. It smells pleasantly fresh. It is unisex. I don't smell citrus, mandarine, green tea, black currant, jasmine, cederwood or musk. I think the "metal" scent note people are smelling is the rose and cyclamen and maybe even the green tea and lime. So it may be a combo of scent notes making it smell metal scent but I smell lime first and them rose mainly. I don't really smell any of the listed base notes. I am almost sure I received a knock off which means it's most likely missing scent notes so I will change my review accordingly after I get a new bottle.
I just picked this up, a 30ml EDP spray for about 10$ Canadian. I wasn't expecting much but I am blown away with the value of a budget fragrance blind buy. It's very fresh smelling and pleasant from opening to dry down. It's going to be a perfect refresher for the car on spring summer days. Super Citrusy and fresh the atomizer is surprisingly good for a 10$ spray. I would recommend this the price point is low and the quality of the product certainly exceeds it.
No complaints for the price. Great one, I like the smell of lemon/lime/bergamot in it
repulsively cheap, disgusting smell. smells like somebody just cleaned up a vintage hotel room after a murder in Escondido.
I have the oil version of this. Like Silver Mountain Water, this is perhaps the most androgynous fragrance of all time. When I wear cologne I like wearing something that makes me feel like a man. Silver does not, which is why I almost never wear it. Silver is not unisex - it is sexless: it doesn't smell masculine on men nor does it smell feminine on women. It's a bland floral aquatic, just like Silver Mountain Water, to which it is almost identical. If you love SMW but can't afford a bottle, this is an excellent inexpensivve alternative, even though it's not my style at all.
I won the roll on oil from a TikTok live and I was a little hesitant by the reviews calling this a masculine leaning fragrance, but being someone who dislikes anything even a hair more masc than unisex, this isn't at all. As a millennial, this IMMEDIATELY reminded me of a fragrance I haven't smelled in at least 20 years, which was CKOne. I don't have both so a vague memory is all I have to compare to, but that fragrance was EVERYWHERE during my formative years and at least some portion of this was enough to recall a scent I haven't even thought of in decades. It's very bright, zingy, and pleasantly fresh with enough of an astringency to it that it brought to mind tea notes and so I paired it with one of my favorite fresh-from-the-shower bed scents, Elizabeth Arden Green Tea, and I adore the result. To anyone who likes Green Tea, CKOne, or any similar freshies, this is a very safe blind buy.
Yep, don’t try to overpower this while recreating it and youre nearly there making a good inspiration. I have had Sillage, Silver Shade and now the Silver. Worst was CDN - Sillage 105ml/35€ straight up metallic, pen ink, nothing refreshing about it, overpowering performance(possibly the kamikaze) Ajmal - Silver shade 100ml/12€ was good more floral better drydown average performance. Rehab - Silver 35ml/5€ is more sparkly citrus, the most refreshing of the bunch. Also average performance ( as it should, SMW is simulating mountain air and there’s nothing overpowering about that as a concept, it is meant to be crisp and refreshing while being insconspicous and off the radar).
Remove the inkyness of SMW and replace it with a dense synthetic white musk -- that's Silver. It's almost like the idea was SMW in the top and middle, but by the drydown they went after CK One instead. I've reviewed this before but just wanted to point out that this is the main distinction with Silver.
I only have the roll-on of Silver which I paid like 5 bucks for.. I want to get the spray too and expect it will have a strong alcohol opening like al rehab frags do but that's expected. I was immediately reminded of a more expensive fragrance Silver mountain water.. when I tried them side by side silver has more lemon in it and oddly I actually prefer it more it's very refreshing..I think it's a fantastic fragrance and the price can't be beat It's also metallic as the name suggests similar to SMW.. and lasts longer.. honestly it's so cheap just buy it. Armaf sillage stinks and has horrible aroma chemicals in the base notes.. just get this one instead
A Notable Dupe of Silver Mountain Water. Silver stands out as an innovator among dupes, particularly because it actually captures the scent profile of the more expensive fragrance it aims to imitate—Creed’s Silver Mountain Water (SMW). As a dupe, I give it high marks. Upon application, Silver does come across as slightly more synthetic and floral than SMW. My wife notes that it's significantly less powdery and much more citrus-forward. Performance-wise, I find Silver holds its own, matching SMW in longevity and projection. The core DNA of SMW is definitely present, though I agree with other reviewers who describe Silver as having a more pronounced floral tone. My wife feels the two are quite distinct, largely due to Silver's stronger citrus presence. The metallic and inky undertones that are often discussed in relation to SMW are indeed present here as well. These are unique characteristics that likely need to be experienced firsthand to be fully understood. When evaluating Silver on its own merits, however, things get more nuanced. Silver Mountain Water isn’t my favorite Creed fragrance to begin with, and unfortunately, Silver amplifies some of the aspects I like least—namely, the more unisex, floral, and metallic elements. This is about as far as I’m willing to go on the unisex spectrum. With so many more masculine options available, I rarely feel inclined to reach for Silver. I can easily see how the blend of floral and musk might be off-putting for some. Personally, this isn’t the kind of personality I want my fragrances to project. Overall Verdict: If you're a fan of Silver Mountain Water, Silver could be a great choice for casual wear or errands, sparing your more expensive bottle. But if you find SMW to be too feminine, metallic, or inky, Silver likely won’t change your mind—it leans into those same characteristics.
It’s the light-out-the-shower version of SMW. It’s dirt cheap. It doesn’t last long, doesn’t project well, but it smells great for about an hour or 2, then fades into a skin scent. Which is perfect for at-home use. I have a little collection of frags I like to wear at home. Obviously, you don’t want to wear something that’s going to last 8+ hours while you’re just chilling at home. That’s where fragrances like these come in handy. It’s the same with Geau, the cheap ADG clone. Perfect for that situation. If you’re expecting more for a $10 fragrance, you’re going to be disappointed 😂
Nose Note #14 (perfume oil review) It feels like the definition of "fresh", but then this bizarre metallic note comes in and puts it on the verge of tolerance. Had it not been SO POTENT it may have been better, but overall it's just OK. Definitely worth a try to understand the SMW DNA. Synthetic? I don't know, can't say. Yes and no This one I've run out of and I have other 3 from Al-Rehab. All 4 are some of the most powerful perfumes I've come across. Incredible. This one is just kind of a miss though
This is yet another synthetic disaster made in someone's bathtub from a middle eastern "fragrance house" if you want to consider it one. The scent opens up with a weird harsh metallic scent and dries down into a sour inkiness. The florals start to come out 30 minutes into the drydown, but the inky stench rides alongside the florals until the end. It smells gross on the skin, and bad in the air. Fortunately, it only projects about an arms length for 1-2 hours. The longevity is pedestrian around 6 hours tops. Creed SWM is not my taste, but I've sampled it, and it is remarkably better than this stuff. It's supposedly a dupe of SMW, but it doesn't even come close. I only spent $10 on it, so unlike the other middle eastern frags being peddled to everyone, this is one of the few that is actually being sold for what it's really worth. My advice, don't buy this. You're better off using the $10 to buy a pint of gourmet ice cream at the grocery store lol!
Very synthetic has that sharp metallic tone and florals I don't know if it's like other middle eastern stuff that needs maceration, I tried it now in summer for my taste it needs colder weather with less humidity to judge it well also after maceration, the floral notes make it lean more feminine IMHO.
I am a woman. I'm sorry guys but this is peuuuwww. So awful.. I'm not too keen on Creed Silver Mountain Water either, but this smells more like out of date Lynx Africa, after a initial burst of freshness it has that same unpleasant noxious fustiness.
It's almost nice. The vibe is too much and too clean. Like something to wash clothes with. Especially at first. Basically a mix of citrus, green and floral that's showered in a slightly powdery musk. Sorta metallic like a cooking pan but if it wasn't named "Silver" you probably wouldn't think of it.
Ridiculously cheap, not even compared to Creed, but to other fragrances in general. A fairly unisex floral fragrance that can be nice, but you have to like the metallic note in it too. In warmer weather it might be worth a try if floral, fresh and metallic is a scent profile combination you're not completely uninterested in.
Horrible. Smells like urinals.
This is not what I expected. I was hoping for a fresh cut grass scent with a citrusy freshness and a clean dry down. Well, I didn't get the fresh citrussy grass vibe but the dry down is indeed clean, powdery and soft. The opening is odd and metallic so the name Silver fits. I don't like the metallic note on myself so I won't be wearing this scent. It's also more unisex so I gave it to my husband. I quite like this scent on a man. I can imagine a more androgenous person wearing it too. Definitely not for me, a gourmand lover who occasionally wears ''clean'' scents. Not incredibly long lasting but it stayed on at least 3 hours. Overall opinion: I like it. It's too unisex for me but I love smelling it on my husband. The top note is meh but fades quickly and makes way for the pleasant powdery, clean and slightly woody base. Lasting power is 3 or more hours. Price is great.
The reviews mentioning any citrus or fresh notes are wrong. I dislike this fragrance really regret buying . I wish they had a better note breakdown so I could avoid fragrances that smell like this in the future.
I bought this for cheaps (and a blind buy) as I needed a fresh and crisp perfume, initially was looking for Maahir Legacy but that one is sold out. This one did not disappoint. The atomiser is top-tier. Clean, crisp smell that evolves into a powdery scent. Great fresh perfume for summer weather. However, just be aware of the opening, might be a bit strong but it quickly breaks down into its beautiful layers. It's now my daily driver. Will perhaps check out CDN Sillage or Lattafa Maharjan Silver after this one is depleted.
I absolutely love this one. This is exactly how I want my signature scent to be. I layer this with other gourmands and it smells majestic. Very fresh, clean girl scent. Not to mention just how inexpensive this is.
MOUNTAIN WATER IN POCKET SIZE FOR POCKET CHANGE There is not much to say about this fragrance. It's a scent close to "Creed Silver Mountain Water" with a linear development, half the longevity, half the sillage, one-third of the size, and 1/75th of the price. - The scent - It is heavy on citrus and musk; overall it is a more than acceptable scent that smells way more expensive than what it costs. Is it a harsh scent? Yes, it is but your nose will get used to it in 3 minutes and 95% of the people will not even ever notice it. - When? - It is safe enough to use on a daily base but never in cold temperatures. And why not use it in the office? Just keep the handy small bottle in your pocket and respray every 3~4 hours. You will hear compliments for sure. I did it (only once). - The name - If someone asks you what are you wearing, just answer Al Rehab Silver. It sounds ok and 95% of the people will think it is a new fancy perfume. The other 5% will think you are a "smart" guy. - Do I use it? - Yes I do use it from time to time and I have always a backup in my drawer. It smells nice, the bottle size is small and handy, and costs as much as one or two expressos. Of course, I do reapply a lot but for what it costs, who cares? - And why? I hate to fill up and maintain a bottling to carry with me. One of these Al Rehab bottles is almost the size of a decant and lasts at least a week with continuous usage. - Did you lose the bottle? No big deal. And agai... for what it costs, who cares? - And where? Well, as I said previously, you may use it daily and even in the office. I know a handful of people who do that with Al Rehab scents like "Silver", "Choco Musk" or "Soft" as examples. It's not my case although I did it once in the office and I received as many compliments as when using "Al Haramain L'Aventure" (just to mention a good quality Creed Aventus look alike). I also use it at the beach! Al Rehab Silver layers quite well with dried salty water and sun lotion. Its scent then becomes similar to "Al Wisam Day" from Rasasi which is quite more expensive, and it's a scent that I prefer to "Siver Mountain Water". Whenever I go to the beach for a weekend or even a full week I always carry a Silver tiny bottle with me, Believe me. It's worth trying it. And how Silver is this Al Rehab Mountain Water? ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ - Scent Opening: 6.5 (my judgement; average opening, a bit heavy and harsh but pleasant) - Scent Dry Down: 7.25 (my judgement; it gets better when the harshness is gone) - Longevity: 4.0 (with 3 good sprays it may last 3 hours, or even close to 4 hours at the most; It lasts one hour less when mixed with salty water and sun lotion) - Sillage: 4.0 (less than 3 feet at its peak with 3 sprays; it projects for less than one hour and becomes a skin scent after the 2nd hour; One-third less performance when mixed with salty water and sun lotion) - Uniqueness: 4.0 (Similar to a dozen Creed Silver Mountain Water clones; it's unique in its low price only) - Wearability: 7.0 (It's mainly a day scent; avoid using it in the Winter) - Versatility: 8.0 (Almost an "all around" versatile fragrance; Great for the beach and the Gymn) - Compliments: 7.5 (Strangely enough, it is an above-average pleaser; It will even get you unexpected compliments) - Quality: 6.0 (Under average quality, but quite high for the price; handy flask and acceptable sprayer) - Presentation: 2.5 (looks like very cheap "stuff") - Price: 10.0 (30 ml for £ 2,5, a real bargain) ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ Overall rating: 6,07/10.00 - between 7 and 8 =above average; - between 8 and 9 = recommended; - bigger than 9 = don't miss it; My opinion: I may recommend this fragrance as long as you keep your expectations low. It cost me £ 2.50. The bottle size, the scent and the performance of Al Rehab Silver allowed me to discover a specific use for this fragrance. And the price helps of course.
