classic , so many memories spraying this around my room while playing bf4 and hardline with the boys, every time i smell it , it takes me back a decade and some. its an interesting profile you either hate it or love it. its a very 2000s smell , a bit sickly sometimes because of the sweet tones and citrus. but you know what, i'll always have a bottle on the shelf. love it go smell for under 20 squids

The first fragrance I ever owned, gifted to my secondary school self by my father, which also led to my first-ever smell compliment from my childhood sweetheart. I remember feeling like I had finally begun my journey to adulthood because of the "maturity of the design"; this, at the time, coming from a young man who had only known Lynx body spray and covert missions of using my father's fragrances and running out the door before he caught a whiff, and the cloud-nine feeling of being complimented on smelling nice. A calmingly pleasant and nostalgic smell, I still buy a bottle for home use to bring some of the childlike joy of the past into the future. Longevity was decent in the past now it lasts about an hour before needing reapplication.

I'm going to continue the theme from my Intimately Beckham review and give the Beckham fragrance range some credit, because I genuinely think these are some of the better 'bottom shelf' fragrances out there. Instinct is probably my favourite of the ones I've owned, and unlike Intimately, this one is much more naturally suited to my nose. It starts off fresh, citrusy, and zingy, with a slight hint of that generic 'green shower gel' smell that crops up in a lot of inexpensive fresh fragrances. But it is very slight, and more importantly, it only hangs around for a few minutes whilst the couple of sprays are drying. Once that's out of the way, there's actually a very decent fragrance underneath it. And this is something I think the Beckham range does surprisingly well for the money; the fragrances develop. Instinct doesn't simply start off citrusy and then gradually become a weaker version of the same smell until it disappears. As the day goes on, that initial zinginess softens, and it becomes noticeably more floral and powdery. Dare I say, it has a little bit of CK Be about it on the drydown, and that's always a good thing. By the way, check out my upcoming CK Be review; it's up there with Armani He as one of my most "frustrating" fragrances. Grrr... Anyway, back to Becks; the longevity is decent, too. Again, I'm grading this with the price in mind; I'm not suggesting you're getting eight hours of room-filling performance for the price of a couple of pints. But I've owned considerably more expensive fragrances that perform worse than this. Would I buy Instinct again? Absolutely, at the right price. If I saw 75 or 100ml for around a tenner, I'd happily pick up another bottle. At £20, I'd probably start looking around to see what else I could get for the money. But that's really where Instinct sits for me. It's inexpensive without smelling cheap. There's enough quality, development, and performance here that I actually enjoy wearing it, rather than merely thinking, "well, it's good for a cheapo Beckham fragrance". One of the better bottom-shelf fragrances I've owned, and probably one of the easiest Beckham fragrances for me to recommend.

This is one of the best David Beckham fragrances! It reminds me of a more youthful and pleasant Aramis Havana or something along those lines. Very good fragrance for me!

This is not that bad. Citrusy spicy cheap fragrance. Yes performance is weak. It's around 15-20 pound I think for that price you can have way better fragrances which is EDP and smells better perform better. But not that bad it's just a fresh slightly spicy masculine scent.

Very similar vibe to Malizia Uomo Vetyver. If you like that, you will probably like this too. About longevity and scent bubble, I've got the EDP and seems like it is decent overall. But you can always over spray over clothes and it will serve you well for some good hours

Great smell but, next to no longevity. Basically wears off within 2 hours. 6/10

Not a bad scent, just overall performance isn’t great. If you just want a simple gym fragrance, for workouts or sport or whatever, definitely worth getting, but apart from that, I wouldn’t buy again.

Not something I would buy. I get 1/2 hr on synthetic clothing on a warm day. Old school scent like an Aramus light light. If you're over 65 and you need a quick frag spray on the way to a date , maybe.

For $20, you get what’s expected. Last no longer than 2 hrs. Good present for a young teen.

In my opinion the scent is too masculine however it is worth the price if you want it.

Short-lived Opening & mid last literally a minute Flash of retro turns in to retroish one note which has everything going on at the same time - if my nose memory serves me right, identical with CK euphoria for men; same olfactory molecule perhaps? Anyhoooo, pleasant. Actually really pleasant! Oh! And a magnetic cap brings a nice feeling to the whole experience! 8€/75ml, not bad Edit: Really short-lived,,

Definitely not a bad scent. I enjoy the fresh opening mixed with the pimento and anise — it creates a clean, masculine vibe. However, it never becomes bold or niche in any way, which for me is a bit of a drawback. It’s a very basic, safe scent rather than something with real character, so it’s not one I’d reach for every day. The downside is the longevity. It opens strong but fades much faster than I’d like. If this lasted a full day, it could easily become a reliable warm-weather option. As it stands, the performance holds it back. (For context: my bottle is several years old, so longevity might differ with a newer batch.)

It's a really old fashioned fragrance for men. Reminds me of a Derpy teenager but it isn't horrible. I can see someone wearing it to they gym which isn't an ideal fragrance in my opinion but it's defiantly my least favourite David Beckham I've smelt.

Smells like a more citric Bandera's Mediterráneo with the base notes of Dominguez' Agua Fresca. It is a very simple blend that does not claim anything else than that. It has a barbershop vibe (it is a fougere) that might make it close to classics like Dior's Eau Sauvage. It does not play along the "longevity/projection" divide, so rule it out if you prefer these kind of scents. As to the user's profile, it projects a classic vibe. It definerely has a personality that does not relate to its price. BTW, I assume a man elegantly dressed in a very formal social occasion wearing it would never be thought of as using this.

Just got the parfum. It's got the smell of Instinct original but this is definitely more potent. It's a really nice one and a great Summer perfume.

This was my first ever bottle of cologne. I’m into much nicer perfumes now, but I’m tempted to get a bottle of this just to smell it for the nostalgia factor.

Smells.. alright. That's pretty much about it, nice opening but fades quickly. Citrus (orange) heavy with a vetiver background.

Its such a synthetic vetiver with citruses that its good! 👍

citrus and spices for 30mins, beyond that nothing. Dont waste your money here.

Sorry but to me it smells like an offensive synthetic-citrus scent, very reminiscent of a high-schooler's gym scent. Just pure synthetic-smelling citrus, regardless of whatever nuance in the notes are listed on Fragrantica. I sprayed a tester bottle on my skin to examine it over the past hour. There's my two cents. If you do happen to like this, I'd suggest trying 'Armaf Club de Nuit Intense Man' or 'Versace Man Eau Fraiche' - they both have different blasts of citrus that are a much better quality of the tart/sharp citrus you get from this David Beckham Instinct. And there should be tester bottles at your local shops.

Never thought I would like a cheap Beckham fragrance. Instinct is a unique fragrance with notes of citrus, bergamot and pepper. 8/10

This defied my expectations: a smooth classy masculine. Not great longevity (4-5 hours), but it’s a fine old school style fragrance, in the Cacharel L’Homme vein. Well worth a punt.

Given the value for money. The EDP version is actually very decent. It's a great warmer weather every day frag that's not going to offend anyone.

Another basic, citrussy, soapy fragrance. Next.

- Vetiver-based frag - Geranium isn't listed but smells like it's there. - Drydown is the best part. Soft, comforting, warm, cozy, sweet.

This is a beautiful fragrance .. performance can be an issue otherwise this is very unique and masculine .. I loved its bottle ..magnetic metallic cap fits snugly..

This would be a great gift for a father or granddad, not a youthful scent, very smoky masculine, i smell limes fkr some reason, dry down if fresh. Longevities bad and projection is intimate but it works, if this was a loud in your face fragrance it'd suck. So much better beckham fragrances (I recommend beckham intimately)

This was my first ever cologne. I think it smells good and I got a couple compliments. Doesn’t last very long though, but for a cheap price it’s good.
