Dior Homme Sport 2017

This is what Meteore is based off of. Look at the notes. I have both, and the dry down is almost 95% the same. Openings are a bit different but it ends up almost exactly identical!

Super juicy citrus blast in the opening, with a tiny bit of sharpness from the pepper, but remains fresh throughout the day, settles down to a soft, cozy, fresh aromatic scent. Superb quality, great projection for an EDT.

So I finally got an opportunity to get a full unopened bottle of this. Now, the 2021 version is my favorite daily of all time in the warm weather. Easily my number 1. But id never tried the 2012. And ive heard alot of people say that the 2021 version was a massive downgrade and that Frankie "ruined" the fragrance. And to be blunt, I couldnt disagree more. 2021 is better in every way. Now of course im biased because 2021 is my number 1. However, 2012 is still very good. I just think he elevated it. Made some small subtle changes and it became the masterpiece that it wanted to be all along with 2021. 2021 smells much more masculine imo. Versus 2012, which is softer and a little more feminine. He def jacked up the woods, and with the addistjon of the cashmere and olibanum, makes it just buttery smooth and adds a whole new layer of depth. I realize that there is a camp of die hards out there that claim 2012 as king. But if you are trying to decide which one to buy fkr the 1st time, or you are just curious, i would recommend the 2021 version

This is basically in the same vein as Dior homme cologne but with a more woody base. An airy citrus scent. Good for what it is. There is something very 90s about it tho, but the Dior quality is there. Worth a pickup if you find it for under a hundred.

I very much regret selling my bottle a few years back, now that the reformulated version is SO MUCH WORSE. It's not the same whatsoever. This used to be a nice fresh blood orange scent with a soft cozy drydown, but now the current version is just sharp, synthetic-smelling, flat citrus with no warmth. Boring. RIP, Dior Homme Sport.

Wanted to treat myself with finally buying 2021 DHS today. I didn’t want to pay retail at the mall, so I went to my local downtown shopping area where there’s many fragrance stores that I guess would be 3rd party sellers. Only 1 store had it out of the 3 that I checked, but it was a tester with the tester box. Luckily it came with the cap BUT, turns out it’s 2018 DHS (batch code 8K01) a 7yr old classic cologne like wtff lol. I was so mind blown when I unboxed it in the car with my gf and that’s because the lady showed me the bottle before I bought it but I didn’t even notice. Anyways out of the box smells fucking amazing doesn’t smell like it’s gone bad or anything. Yummy citruses with spices and very nice woody notes. To me personally it’s also somewhat powdery even though there’s no iris, even my gf said it smelled like her makeup when she sniffed my hand. I love iris so idc if it does or doesn’t, perfect daily/mass appeal frag 7hrs of solid performance with good moderate projection for 3-4hrs 10/10. An good scent, undoubtedly so, but lacks personality.

I love that this and the 2021 one are so different even when they are both “Sport”. I like this more but i will keep my 2021 bottle.

revieving this in 2025 because i was lucky enough to find myself a 2017 batch. I love this one so much more than the 2021 reform. the aldehydic note in the 2021 version doesn't sit well with my skin but this one? absolutely lovely. Something about the nutmeg note really just ties this all together and it smells so smooth.

This was the first fragrance I ever got years ago. I ended up wearing it for almost any occasion... SO versatile. The scent as a whole I would describe as "sharp", love the citrus in the beginning it almost has a peppery and almost graphite-like undertone as it sits a while. Very solid performance too, not too in-your-face or pungent which I prefer.

Great stuff, it really took some time to grow on me, but now I love it! It reminds me of a modern interpretation of Cool Water. Starts with heavy dose of fresh natural orange with pear, as it dries down it becomes, woody, creamy, spicy and a little sweet on my skin. Longevity is decent for an EDT of this style. I get about 6 hours on skin with good projection for the first 2 hours. This would be easy to use as a daily driver for early Spring through the middle of fall where I live. I don't think it's as well suited for night time wear. DHS 2017 is great and drastically different from both the DHS that came before it and the one that came after. I like it a little better than DHS 2021 for casual wear. 21 is fantastic and extremely elegant in comparison, but I feel like I get tired of DHS 21 pretty easily. If you are having trouble finding this for a good price, Fragrance World makes a decent facsimile called d'Hommes Sport that you can find for like $15 that gets you 85+% of the way there. 8.25/10

This 2017 Sport was among the scents that got me started down this rabbit hole in 2019 when it was gifted to me as a tester from an Aunt that worked at Sephora. The notes/materials and their origins printed on the tester bottle sparked my intrigue. Grapefruit from Italy, vetiver from Haiti, etc. Now years later the 2021 Dior Sport is my signature and I absolutely love the entire Dior Homme line in general, but it feels awesome to add a 75ml of this juice back into my lineup with my og tester now to its last sprays. An incredible sporty and sophisticated offering with amazing blood orange and pear, but incredibly modern. None of that powdery business at all which the line has continued with to this day. I did also really enjoy the 2012 Sport and its carefree elegance with the Tuscan Iris but this 2017 has etched itself among my favorites. Another fantastic and under-known sporty gem is Mercedes Benz AMG Red Thrill. Very sporty and elegant but with a very light powdery creaminess from a richer denser orris/iris than in the Dior sport 2012 which is more green. Some of the absolute best sporty fragrances on the market!

They need to bring this version back, im almost out 💔

Uplifting in a bottle, this fragrance made me smile when I wore it on Portugal summer heat, the inicial citrus zest with spices was absolutely amazing. So so disappointing that it was replaced by a much worse fragrance!

I don't know why, but something in this fragrance makes my nose feels itchy. maybe it's the spices notes. Sport fragrances supposed to be uplifting but i think this one is not.

I’ve been using this fragance for years, and is one of my favorites, here is my experience: - when it says SPORT, it is for sports, and for me this fragance had the best smell when my body is heated. eg working out, hiking, or anytime if you live in a tropical island. - the dry down is a soft sandalwood-vetiver, but when heated, I can actually smell all the ripe citrus working together in a very elegant way. - this perfume is unique, elegant, does not bother to the nose, and I have not found a similar yet-maybe atelier cologne orange sanguine, but you will miss the sandalwood-vetiever and the Dior’s magic touch.

Very citrusy openning the openning kinda mid but the drydrown is good 6.5/10

Nose Note #200 This one has a very prominent blood orange which makes it very special and which the OG didn't have. I would say that those are almost two different perfumes. The 2017 is more "manly". Blood orange adds a fir or coniferous accent. If the OG was reminding me of Allure Homme Sport, this one is more like Hugo Man with the fir base, but 2017 is citrus dominant, so it does it's own thing. Great

Pretty citrus heavy, very nice opening with grapefruit and pear to a woody undertone throughout the wear. To me though its a quite simple and Linear feeling fragrance. Found the performance to be understated and subtle compared to the DHS 21 that I’ve come to know and love today. I understand what they were doing with this. But I think it’s missing some longevity, and some sophistication with the fragrance. 6/10

my second favorite Dior after homme cologne. always gets compliments. fresh, clean and classy. bought a 75ml backup bottle today and sprayed it on my hand. i later got followed around in a store and complimented, it ended up sparking a whole conversation.

After owning the wrong Dior Homme Sport (2021 version) for 3 years I’ve finally got the real version I wanted. This is the version I initially wanted to buy but bought the wrong one and didn’t realize it. The 2021 version smelled completely different to me, sour, super strong and pungent. I only realized it was different when I smelled Dior Homme 2020 and realized that Dior Homme Sport 2021 is basically just that with citrus added and I don’t like either fragrances. I tried to give it a chance but couldn’t do it. This one however I love, exactly what I imagined it to smell like. Fresh, citrusy and clean. Smells way better to me than the 2021 version and happy with my 200ML bottle that’ll last me for a while. Dior really needs to come up with better names for their fragrance lines because why does everything have the same name but smell completely different? There’s 4 versions of Dior Homme sport now, all named the same thing, which makes it extremely confusing to pinpoint the one you really want

I had to come back and make a new review. When I first got this fragrance, it was supposed to be DHS 2021, but the seller sent me the wrong one. I was unbelievably disappointed and upset. I took a few whiffs and all I got was generic, boring, shower gel male fragrance that I had smelled thousands of times my whole life. I got a refund from the seller but they told me to keep the fragrance. I put it on one day on a whim in the summer and wore it out of the house, after about 30 minutes I started enjoying it and it opened up and dried down more. It was a lot more complex than those top notes led one to believe. After about an hour and a half, OH MAN!! What a transformation! I could not stop smelling myself, what a beautiful fragrance! It went from a generic boring citrus musk to a beautiful fruity woody fragrance. What a beautiful symphony of notes! It actually reminded me a bit of smelling Cool Water for the first time as a kid, but a much more modern and elegant take on it. Every time I wear this fragrance now, I appreciate it more and more and it really opened that door to me picking up a few more freshies. I actually like this a lot more than DHS 2021 now, even though I own both. I will likely pick up another bottle before summer hits. This went from a 2/5 to a 5/5 after a few wears. This is my favorite freshie.

There has to be tonka bean in this! Anyway, the citrus isn’t as citrusy as I would’ve hoped, the woods aren’t as woody as I hoped. The 2021 rendition is just better. This is okay, but feels way more designery than I would’ve liked. Still solid though.

I was fortunate enough to be gifted a full Tester of DHS '17 and it's yet another reminder of how consistently enjoyable Demachy's work was, and that "Dior quality" was very real at the $100ish price point during his tenure. Like the legendary Homme Eau, there is that subtle lingering air of a perfume(sure, it could be cosmetics) counter that has this uncanny ability to make the whole wearing experience lean kind of luxurious. But hey, that's the rub, twist, magic, genius - whatever you wanna call it - of the old Homme line, isn't it? You get these elements that don't scream "masculinity", Pear could be one such example, but then look at how our users categorize Sport '17 on the gender scale. I think this is fantastic, especially - and again like Homme Eau - on a bright, sun-shiny day.
