I still think about this masterpiece, I miss her.

My nose must really be off because this reminds me of Paris Hilton Luxe Rush. Patchouli dominant for me. Very heavy. I think I saw YouTube videos raving about midnight Poison so I tried Miris No.337033 and found it too heavy. Idk what I was expecting but not this.

I miss this fragrance sooo much, it's just so magical 😍 I've tried SOOO many dupes and nothing comes anywhere CLOSE! but then again, YSL Elle also doesn't smell like MP to me either and a lot of people say it does. I think I'm mourning the dry down of MP, that beautiful and ethereal scent that just lingers and lingers. I need it 😭

Wow, love this - even more than DHP! It smells like super fancy shampoo from the 90s!! Oh, the nostalgia that hit me 🥹.

I only have a small decant of Midnight Poison and don't know what year or batch it is from. It opens very fresh with all the facets of citrus, both tart and a bit bitter. Reminding quite a lot of another fragrance by Dior: the Eau Fraiche. Once the bergamot and citrus juice/peel calms down, the dry and cold patchouli takes over. This is where it is most unique, becoming something very eary and stand offish. I love it! In the dry down the ambery vanilla and some smoky accord brings groundedness. But the unsettling feeling still lingers. The dry down is not that far from Guerlain's Shalimar Souffle de Parfum, although without the sweetness from the latter. Where Midnight Poison is cold and aloof, Shalimar Souffle de Parfume is warm and embrasing. But both share the smoky, citrus, vanilla perfection so soothing in summer.

Dior Midnight Poison is a dark, mysterious fragrance with a rich blend of rose, patchouli, amber, and vanilla. The opening feels slightly citrusy and sparkling, but very quickly it turns into a deep, smoky floral scent with creamy sweetness underneath. The patchouli and amber stand out the most, giving it a sensual, gothic vibe that reminds many people of cold evenings, black velvet, incense, and old luxury perfume boutiques. I bought this bottle a few years ago from a private collector because I had always wanted to try one of Dior’s discontinued classics. The fragrance is beautiful and very unique, but after wearing it a few times I realized it just doesn’t suit my style or personality. On my skin the patchouli becomes too heavy and intense, and the scent feels a bit too dark and dramatic for everyday use. I usually prefer fresher or cleaner fragrances, so this bottle has mostly been sitting untouched in my collection. Because of that, I decided to let it go to someone who will truly appreciate it and actually wear it. Since Midnight Poison is discontinued and becoming harder to find, I know there are collectors and Dior fans who would enjoy owning it much more than I do.

Well if this was a try at making it smell like actual poison aka something from an apothecary's shelf whose label has come off so you don't know what is actually in it, they have succeeded. The opening is strongly medicinal / barbershop. Something has gone wrong with the rose note and it smells more like rose plus geranium, which is not listed. The bergamot / citrus, rose / geranium, and patchouli combination is probably responsible for the unexpected "traditional barbershop" opening. Either that or there are unlisted aromatic notes. Really smells like there is a wormwood note to me. I like wormwood, it's just not supposed to be there. I do get a very slight resemblence to La Belle de Russie, which is about 3 decades older than Midnight Poison and is much more vintage-y and feminine but does have a tiny hint of that unexpected medicinal / barbershop artemisia edge in the opening. But the closest comparisons are going to be to men's fragrances like Sang Bleu le Galion, Boss Life Extreme by Bujairami, or A Taste of Heaven by Kilian. This is not at at what I would expect from a fragrance named after Cinderella.

I am a fan of the original 1985 Poison, the real thing, so I thought Midnight Poison would be one of my likings... how wrong I was. Midnight Poison reminds me of a masculine, old-fashioned after-shave lotion that old men used to buy. I dislike it very much because I can't smell any feminine note or scent, neither when freshly applied nor after it dried down. If anybody can give me any advice on how to make it more feminine, I will be eternally grateful.

I loved it.... 💙🌹🌃...I miss it...

There is something mysterious about this fragrance. Perhaps it is not only the scent itself, but also the fact that it has been discontinued, which gives it a special sense of rarity and allure. The bergamot here is unusual: not fresh and sparkling, but rather deep and subdued, almost blended with the sweetness of overripe cherry. Patchouli runs clearly through the entire composition, noticeable both in the opening and in the heart, giving the fragrance structure and character. The rose feels cold and strict — not romantic or sweet, but restrained and composed. It perfectly balances the fruity sweetness. This is a fragrance for the evening, especially in colder seasons, when you want something deep, slightly mysterious and atmospheric.

Discontinuing this was blasphemous. Don’t care about stupid new “Addict” releases (that don’t smell like Addict). Bring. This. Back. For those who are looking for something similar: OG YSL Elle (pink bottle) was very similar, albeit a bit more fruity, less citrus and less rose compared to MP. The current Elle in the new bottle is nothing like OG elle and lacks any comparison to MP imo.

Dark, cool-leaning scent that doesn’t really change much from opening to drydown. The citrus is muted and slightly bitter, blending quickly into a soft, powdery, slightly soapy patchouli. The rose isn’t very realistic or dominant. It acts more like a smoothing element, with a powdery feel. There’s a subtle hint of vanilla, but it never turns sweet or warm. It feels quite cold and distant, clean in a slightly sharp way. As I’m writing this, brother just walked in and said it smells like bleach…. seriously.? My bottle is from 2011 and it doesn’t seem like it was stored in the best conditions, but it still smells beautiful. It looks authentic in every aspect, and even if the juice somehow isn’t, I have to give credit, it matches the way people describe this scent perfectly.

Just ordered the Perfume Parlour version of Midnight Poison (Dark Venom). I will do a comparison with the original to see if it's a worthy replacement, as the prices of Midnight Poison is just too crazy these days. Edit: First impressions, Dark Venom is more citrus dominant in the opening and overall doesn't quite have the darkness and slight earthiness of the OG. It's basically 3/4 of the way there, though. I think once more air gets into the bottle it'll get better over time and the price is pretty good for the 30ml extract spray.

I still have my OG bottle of this its one of my favourite fragrances of all time and I'm gutted that they don't make it anymore :( It means that I don't wear it as often as I want to but every time I do I am reminded how awesome it is. I wish I had bought back ups! This isn't a scent for day wear to my nose its a night time fragrance for me and every time I wear it I feel kick ass and ready to take on the world. I do also love sharing it though and I have sent a couple of cheeky decants to friends to try.

Oh wow, the Poisons really don’t stop, do they? Every time I try one, I’m reminded how powerful they are. This is intense, dense, and initially quite aggressive in how present it is. I only have a small sample of this discontinued fragrance, but I can understand why so many people still mourn it. There are already good dupes out there, which says a lot about the demand. This is a dark, dirty rose wrapped in patchouli, with a sharp citrus opening that cuts through everything before settling. Gothic, dramatic, shadowy, a bit dangerous. Not theatrical, but emotionally dense. I wouldn’t say I’m “dark” enough to wear this with conviction, and it asks for a certain presence. That said, I really appreciate its character. It takes courage to be heavy, moody, and unapologetic at the same time, and you wear it because you’re okay with being all that and felt. It’s not for everyone, and that’s why it works.

my go-to evening scent, i was lucky enough to buy one second hand. It is dark, sweet, and complex. the only down side is it doesn't last very long, i get maximum 2 hours on my skin.

Анонім★★★★★

I got lucky enough to get a 2ml sampler of this perfume. The ambery citrus in opening is so nostalgic and bright. As minutes pass by it gets fizzy and more dark rosey (in a good way). Projection is a beast. I'll update this post for the dry-down later.

I am finally willing to part with my last bottle of Midnight Poison. It's a 1.7 oz that I purchased from Dillards when it was first released. Message me if interested. *** SOLD ***

Why they always decide to discontinue the best?? Absolute blue beauty with fitting commercial. Goth blue Cinderella and Muse; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dAbZVTTclE

This fragrance was truly amazing—a real masterpiece. Its unique character came from a 'dirty rose' note, which gave it strength and a dynamic edge while commanding attention. Despite the floral element, I (as a man) would wear it easily, as it lacks clear feminine notes. It's a dark, bewitching, and perfectly unisex scent. It is truly sad that Dior stopped making this gem. P.S. To all the Midnight Poison lovers out there: Yves Saint Laurent's Elle is back in production and smells very close to this!

Juicy, spicy, sweet, and addictive. Fortunately I found a solid dupe. The Divain 728. Just wanted to make sure other enthusiasts knew about this.

I have a half-full 100ml bottle of Midnight Poison for sale if anyone would like to give her a loving home. The cap is missing, but the juice is flawless. Feel free to PM me.

I'm either very anosmic to this or my sample vial is turned, because after a few generous applications to my wrists + paper it fled the scene! Wish I could spend more time with it… Prayers up for a re-release, fragranticans!

Dark, Gothic Rose with cold and slightly earthy (not damp) patchouli all in front of a vanilla backdrop. Utterly amazing and aptly named.

Анонім★★★★★

Truest of magic. I miss her.

Анонім★★★★★

at this point it's unbelievable MP hasn't been re-released? do DIOR indirectly benefit from the resale economy, or are they unable to produce it again due to cosmetic ingredient restrictions? i have never smelled it, but the myth lives large

A very good and seriously made perfume, but it was not as unique as I expected. It reminded me - a lot - of Yardley's Chique (which supposedly had no patchouli in it, but was very similar nevertheless). Chique was one of my favourite perfumes decades ago, so I decided to take Midnight Poison as its more serious version. I loved that seductive, winey note (in both); it was near to perfect on a rainy day. So yes, it is one of those perfumes that really depend on the weather. Also, for some reason, I think it wouldn't work so well on a delicate, pale skin. Like if it has to be mixed with your body scents to reach its peak. As the rare originals are too expensive now, I am using a very good clone at the moment (really no difference from the original MP), but there is a surprise - some years ago, I discovered Avon's Passion Dance, which may be more chemical and aggressive, but that's almost the same scent. (And lasts even longer.) So if you love the scent, and don't care for the name behind it, such replacements will do the job for you.
