This perfume has a strong oily smell that I just can't get past, so I can't wear it. However, it's incredibly long-lasting, and the scent fills the entire room

I feel like I'm crazy with this, but it smells like the kinda things you'd pick up from Avon or other cheap perfume places. It's sharp white florals almost choked me, and I get 0 Mediterranean vibes from this perfume. I really hate it. It's headache inducing for me, and lacks any real depth.

The wisteria is in bloom, albeit sooner than expected, but I remind myself that nature moves on its own time... adapting to whatever chaos shifts the paradigm of normalcy. I rotate my fragrances for the season, and as it hit 80 degrees Fahrenheit, I knew it was Mediterranean's time. I didn't love this one when I blind bought it for <$20 last summer. I took it on a West Texas road trip and let the hot car rip each molecule apart mile by mile. I wore it everyday of that trip, under flash flood skies and among Texas' blondest art philanthropists. Spraying it for work took me back on vacation, and I am reminded that soon, the routine will break again, as it always does, and in that there is room for new life to grow.

This was part of my mother's collection, so it has a bittersweet nostalgia for me. I love wisteria scents. I grew up surrounded by it. It covered the buildings, trees, and our house. It's a scent that will forever be precious to me. So that alone gives it points, but stepping back from nostalgia, it's still a nice perfume. I wish it were a little less sweet. I'm not sure where the sweetness is coming from, but I wish it weren't there. I want to collect a few more wisteria perfumes that are doing other things (floral and leather, floral and woody, etc). That being said, this is a staple in the collection. It lasts for hours, lovely projection, and the sweetness eventually fades so I can just enjoy the florals. 8.5/10

The bottle is nice. That’s it. To my nose none of the notes listed are in this. At an absolute stretch there is freshness and musk, not the best combo on their own. This is devoid of all sweetness. I suppose when you look at the notes, combined they all would produce something ‘bitter’ as this is. All I get is Black Ice or Arctic Breeze car air freshener or toilet air freshener that doesn’t conceal the fecal note, which is also present. Cannot use it as a freshener in a confined space as I want to get away from this. A rare miss from Elizabeth Arden as there are some beautiful fragrances. Not the Mediterranean breeze I was hoping for, this is a different type of wafting…Regrettable blind buy. 💨🧊💩🥴

Freshie alert! I purchased this last month on sale, and I am thrilled with my purchase. This is a stellar freshie - clean, soothing, inviting. At first spray, the lovely mandarin and peach radiate, but softly blend into the florals. I never knew that wisteria could smell so soft and refreshing. After some time, the light, clean musk and sandalwood come out to place with the amber softly poking through later in the evolution of the fragrance. The fragrance last 6 to 8 hours on me with a nice scent bubble before it becomes a skin scent for several more hours. The Elizabeth Arden DNA is all over this fragrance, but it isn't cloying or annoying like some of her fragrances of the past.

I purchased a 100ml without testing it first. I thought by notes that i would enjoy this. However, the first spray was absolutely terribly. There’s a hint of sweet-floral smell in the first seconds than it fades into this salty window cleaner smell. It was lingering on me all day and it made me nauseous. I tend to enjoy Elizabeth Arden fragrances but zhis was a miss.

This was one of my first perfumes 15 years ago after first smelling it in a magazine, and I repurchased for nostalgia recently, and I don't like it at all! Has an astringent, sharp, cloying smell. Had to shower and wash my clothes after spraying it. I can't identify from the notes what part I specifically dislike unfortunately. Maybe the wisteria?

I recently purchased Mediterranean, and it just smells like butter. I’ve now let it macerate, for two months and it still smells like butter… I can’t figure out what in the notes would cause this butter smell…

Powdery aquatic. I was in the search for something citrus/Mediterranean vibe. This one comes close but it's a weird dry wood drenched in salty peachy water I would say. Not necessarily in a bad way.

Refreshing, light, effortlessly elegant. Aquatic citrus, florals, a touch of fruit and musk. There's something more grown up about this fragrance than others in its genre - namely Tommy Bahama Very Cool or others that smell similar to D&G Light Blue. Those are nice too, but Mediterranean is bit more mature, more refined. This would be well matched with a white linen dress. I can easily imagine Gwenyth Paltrow's character Marge smelling like this in The Talented Mr. Ripley. Definitely 'having a cocktail by the sea' vibes. I can almost hear the sea birds call over the harbour.

It seems from other reviews that we are all smelling a different fragrance! My nose does not pick up any fruity notes, and the tiniest floral hints mixed with a soapy musk! It personally reminds me of a less expensive version of Blanche by Byredo. It has a synthetic clean cotton feel. It feels a bit suffocating to me, but in full transparency, I’ve been testing quite a few fragrances this evening and my olfactory system may need a bit of a rest!! I’ll try it again another time and update if anything changes! Next day- trying this again and I don’t find it as suffocating as yesterday. It does have great sillage and longevity. Still a soapy musk to my nose that dries slightly powdery. Very pretty

This smells like air freshener to me. I really, really tried to like it. Sprayed it on myself and smelled like a nice, clean toilet for a full day. Ended up using it as toilet spray, no joke.

I picked this bottle up for a song, knowing I was likely to be a fan. And I am. I'm expanding my collection of floral freshies, which I've always loved but also fit the climate I live in. This is a classy and elegant example of that genre, and fit for the tropics without screaming "beach". It seems well named, as you can imagine wearing it while dining seaside in southern Italy. I also adore the blue bottle. A definite keeper!

A citrusy, plumy, wisteria delight. I get all the notes. She's special. 💛💜🩵

I can't smell anything fruity In it. bought it because of the plum, peach and magnolia. but all I can smell is woody, balsamic, amber, sea salty notes. very strong scent, headache causing. so very disappointed. not a perfume for blind buy! definitely something you have to smell before buying.

This is summer in a bottle, its almost like a sister fragrance to Sunflowers. This has a beautiful sweetness from the plum and peach along with a gorgeous musky amber depth to it which many summer fragrances lack. I don't pick up too much on the florals but its lingering there. It feels very oceanic and has the slightest and subtle salt water smell to it. Love. This smells so familiar and I kept thinking why during the day, it reminds me of other fragrances by the same perfumer Claude Dir. It reminds me of Britney Spears Curious and Kim Kardashian Pure Honey. I like Mediterranean more since I found Curious is a bit simplistic for my taste and Pure Honey is a bit too sweet for me. Surprised at how much I'm loving this. It also reminds me ever so slightly of Rochas Femme because of the peach and plum combination but it of course it's a very different fragrance.

I can really smell the musk, but the freshness makes it not cloying at all but refreshing. To be honest, I don’t care much for this scent on its own, but when paired with a sweeter floral, I really like the result. I find it pairs well with Tease from VS, which is fruitier, but has the same base musk and amber which makes them feel natural but unique together. Overall I’d say this fragrance feels like Airy and almost a bit sour!

Every time I spray this on, my husband compliments on it. For that reason alone I wear it frequently. But I liked it even before I met him (years ago it was in the bargain-box). A real summer scent, but not sweet or flowery, fits the name perfectly !

Анонім★★★★★

For the people saying this doesn't smell like the Mediterranean... hard disagree. This smells like drinking a aperol spritz sitting on a terrace looking over a small harbour in Sicily with boats bobbing at dusk on a warm day in late May! Lovely!

I had a girlfriend who wore this a lot. She had some incredible fragrances in her collection but she tended to wear this one a lot, which drove me insane because as a guy I can't stand this... I'm surprised by how many of the reviews below say how "fresh" and "light" this is. Because in my opinion, there is something horribly bitter and astringent in it. I've never been able to determine which note it is but it is a detestable cloying accord that makes my stomach queasy when it is worn in extremely hot and humid climates, specifically. Which is crazy because this is marketed as a Summer/Spring fragrance. There are certain Male Summer/Spring fragrances that I have owned in the past that have had the same effect when worn on especially hot or humid days. They don't "cut" through the heat and humidity properly and end up "draping" around you and the environment in a stuffy/cloying manner. This is one of those. This was a solid 10 to 12 years ago, so perhaps reformulations have diluted this down into a more "watery" lighter juice these days? But man, the bitter, cloying heaviness of this fragrance when my ex would wear it in the dead heat of summer is something I'll never, unfortunately, get out of my olfactory memory.

This fragance is ambery sweet. If you like plums and peaches with ambar, then this perfume could be something for you. Because of the bottle you could think this is an aquatic, fresh, clean perfumes. This is not. This more kind of fruity, ambery perfum. I think for hot summers could be too much because of the amber. I think it will suit better for spring. Unfortanelly the longevity is not there, even when you sprayed on your clothes (something that i recommend just to make it last little bit longer).

Анонім★★★★★

Based on the notes, you might think this could be a little bit sweet, but it’s not, it’s fresh, clean & perfect for high heat. It doesn’t overpower, Kind of smells like a spa near a beach As it has a very slight salty, clean smell. She’s a definite keeper

Анонім★★★★★

I like it. It's simple, clean, Woody and aquatic. A little bit on the masculine site but i love to wear men perfume so that is ok for me. Projection and longtivity is good as long as you spray generous . This is my second bottle but it will be my last. I get a little bored with this one. The scent is good but i'm nowadays into the vintage power bomb perfumes and chypre ones. So with the years your taste for perfume definitely change. I will use my bottle up i enjoy the scent enough to finish it. 😊

Анонім★★★★★

this opens with a blast of alcohol along with plum, orange and magnolia, followed by some orchid and peach. it's a fruity floral with a bit of brightness. the wisteria comes forth more after a few minutes, and i think i smell that slightly salty note others have mentioned. the orange gets a lot stronger over time and it turns primarily to a sparkling orange magnolia on my skin. i like it but need to retry in warmer weather i think, because it's a bit too sharp. trying in warmer weather: this definitely starts with orange the strongest, followed by magnolia. no plum or peach this time. mostly an orangey magnolia.

This was out of stock for aaaaages and I was afraid it had been discontinued but I just checked and it’s back! Hurrah! Every time I wear this I love it more. My husband loves this too. The description on the Elizabeth Arden website is slight more evocative than the notes listed above…. “Mediterranean captures the ease of spirit and the pure natural beauty of Capri, Italy. Celebrating sunshine, clear blue skies and a warm ocean breeze, sensual florals combine with creamy woods to reflect the whispering waters and rich textures of the Mediterranean” Bang on! Add in some juicy fruits and that’s how this feels! I get a (very gentle!) slightly salty ocean spray note in here along with the official notes listed below. Top - Sicilian Orange, Peach Nectar Sorbet, Damask Plum Mid - Star Magnolia, Radiant Wisteria, Madagascar Orchid Base - Addictive Sandalwood, Fluid Skin Musk, Golden Amber Whisper

Анонім★★★★★

I generally get on well with Arden fragrances, and count several amongst my “keepers”. So, I really wanted to like this, and have tried repeatedly, but on my skin it has a ‘tangy’ quality that I find quite off-putting. It’s not bad enough to dump it, and I feel incomplete without scent, so will use it on occasions where my only aim is to not feel naked - like when I’m cleaning the house or doing yard work. I have several strong contenders for an economical everyday wear though, so I shan’t purchase again. I’m sure on others it is a winner, but sadly not for me.

Анонім★★★★★

I love this! Exceptionally easy to wear. Very approachable, fresh, adult. There is a definite crisp salty accord underpinning the florals, which means this isn't sweet-fruity or overly flowery despite the notes listed. I love acquatic notes and more masculine scents, but prefer to avoid "unexpected" scents in the office - so this is a perfect compromise. Going to be my work signature fragrance as we start getting into humid, hot summer weather.

Анонім★★★★★

I love this!! However, every time I wear it my mom says I smell like butter. I don’t get where she smells this at but it’s making me a little apprehensive.

After purchasing a vial to test, the fragrance went from ok and nothing special in the late 2000's to almost a like over the years (based solely from what I remembered smelling) and purchased in 2022 (because it was on special for $12 for a 3.4oz.) The fragrance doesn't seem to develop into anything, kinda like what you get from the top notes is what you will continue to get throughout the drydown. Lackluster. Now it's 2023 and I've worn it about 5 times at home to see if I get around to actually liking it and sadly, I can't. Talk about giving a fragrance enough chances and time for ya'll to get along.😕
