There are 3 ADGs I can stand Elixir, Absolu, and EDP Intense. Overall I am an ADG hater. All the others smell like BO to me: Profondo, Parfum, the EDP, the EDT, all that. This one smells like Parfum but better. But added violet leaf which adds a great ozonic nuance and even more masculinity to an already very masculine fragrance. The price sucks, I only have this because I got this as a gift, but this is a nice flanker.

Love this one. A beautiful twist of the original dna, in my opinion. Longevity is great too! It’s not a loud frangrance by any means (which I love), but it’s stay around for 8-9 hours.

Initially I liked it better when I first tried it. I have a bottle, and honestly, this doesn't last long at all. If you want something truly unique with OK performance, and smells better, get Fahrenheit. If that's too masculine for you, get Brioni EDP, or even Burberry Touch. Another blue fragrance with violet is Bentley Edition Black, but that one is more synthetic smelling (cheaper smelling). I really had hopes, and I am disappointed. However, it's not offensive, smells OK, and would be a good office fragrance.

Tried it in store and gagged. 2 hours later a nice summer beach freshie but the price is ridiculous.

This AdG flanker should be rated higher. To my nose, it's different from all the others, and the leather note in this is executed perfectly. It's not a fruity or sweet smelling leather found in many other designer fragrances, but instead it smells like untreated leather and serves to add warmth and smooth out this profile, similar to what soft woods like sandalwood do. This is the ultimate summer nighttime fragrance, but it can be worn across seasons and times if that's your jam. I find it much more mature and professional than other flankers like Profondo EDP, so it works for the office too, especially if you're a gent in their 30s or older. Longevity is fantastic, I get close to 8 hours of gradually-fading projection until it becomes a skin scent, and I can still smell it until I wash it off. This projects nicely within the first hour, definitely farther than an arms length. Overall, this is my favorite AdG to date, I just wish it came in a bigger bottle. 9.3/10

I'm not going to lie here I am an Acqua di Giò fan boy. This is a banger of a fragrance. Smells great projects well too.

So after spending some time with this one and coming back for a follow-up review, I have to say…I fell for the hype. I’m just not impressed. Sure it smells great. But If it wasn’t for PayPal offering me $40 to sign up for their credit card, and finding it on sale for $80, I probably never would’ve bought it. Even at what worked out to about $40 for me… eh. It smells great. I like the perfumer, and I understand why people enjoy it. But for me, it doesn’t hold a candle to Light Blue Intense. I wore them side by side, and Light Blue Intense easily outlasted it. Polo deep parfum scratches the same itch and it does better for me as well. Too bad those are both discontinued now. Now there are a few possible explanations. It could be my skin chemistry. It could be nose fatigue. It could even be that the sample didn’t perform like a full bottle. But there’s another possibility too… maybe I just fell for the hype. Now before the fan club shows up with torches and pitchforks… relax. 😄 It’s just one old plumber’s opinion. If this is your favorite fragrance, wear it, enjoy it, and don’t let me ruin your day. Me? I’d spend my money elsewhere. Because it’s. What she said. But that’s just my experience. It’s your money—buy what makes you happy.

This should come as no surprise only to those who are blinded by marketing tricks either consciously or unconciously but here goes: I respect designer brands that produce endless flanckers of an originally smelling fragrance-dating ages back- than brands that pretend to produce niche fragrances when they are dupes of those originally smelling designer releases. Just saying.

Absolutely love it so dam good 👍

I got this in yesterday. To me it reminds me quite a bit of Dior Fahrenheit from when it first came out. For context, I went through about 4 or 5 bottles of Fahrenheit back in the late 80's and early 90's. The violet in this with a lot of the notes definitely trigger that early memory. I've also got a current bottle of Fahrenheit, and the violet in it now vs then, Acqua di Gio Elixir is closer to my memory of what that once was. I'm giving Acqua di Gio Elixir a full wear today, and I'm liking it quite a lot. I hope that it'll lasts the day, and I'm curious as to how it will work out and about in the high heat of Florida.

@Havoc89 says it best. I will add that I do get a slight gasoline smell for the first 10min. Drys down to a light, watery take of the Parfum. Subtle & nice but I may be sticking w/ Profondo. Ultimately I find this to be redundant as it’s too close to its other formulations.

Nice fragrance from Armani. The violet leaf and water notes combine to give it a cucumber-water feel. It doesn't seem very versatile though, because this is something I'd wear on a hot summer day by the pool or just a hot day outside. I can't see this working for date nights though, it's too casual imo. I definitely like this one, but to call this an "elixir" and having it retail for $100+ for a small bottle is crazy to me. I wouldn't pay more than $50 for a 50ml of this. There are many other cheaper options out there. Bvlgari Aqva and the marine flanker are both in the same realm, and for much cheaper. Same with Le Sel D'Issey by Issey Miyake. Definitely a nice frag and I would add it to my collection, but because it's an Armani it really won't drop in price, so I'll stay away.

You wore Acqua di Giò in HS from late 90s into Y2K & now you're all grown up with 4 kids. That's who this is for.

Mass appealing masculine blue fragrance with decent strength. In my opinion, this would work all year round and for day and night. It’s the kind of fragrance I’d imagine owned by many men who only have one bottle of cologne for date night. In that sense, it works as it smells nice, even if it is a little generic. But if you are a fragrance snob looking for your 10th+ bottle, you might want to pass. Unless this happens to be your favorite flanker of Aqua Di Gio and you want one in your collection. That being said, I’d consider this blind buy safe.

Анонім★★★★★

It’s basically a blue, salty marine-style fragrance. Yeah, it’s mass appealing, but at its core it follows that familiar designer DNA. It reminds me a lot of Bvlgari Aqua just with less saltiness and a stronger “blue” character overall. If you can find it for under $80, then it’s worth considering. Otherwise, I’d honestly just go with Bvlgari Aqua since the performance is better and the overall experience feels more refine...but for me i can't stand marine/saltiness at all so its a pass...

Not sure about the base of Elixir but the violet leaf with ozonic aura here is fascinating, made it feel like im breathing in 4k oxygen. Other than that its a little dry but great longevity. Made me wanna check out other Violet perfumes, I had great experience testing Elixir. Think I'd layer it with profondo if I got a bottle.

Анонім★★★★★

IMO the best smelling of the ADG line, but then again I am a fan of violet fragrances. The dry down is unmistakably ADG scent profile but with a subtle leather note that to me makes the fragrance. EDIT: Picked up a bottle at a discounter for 79 bucks, and I am happy with my purchase.

Absolutely love it so dam good. I just had to buy me another bottle. I just wish they made a bigger one

Acqua di Giò Elixir – First Impressions First thought: Polo Blue Parfum. There’s something in the opening that immediately takes me there—fresh, familiar, easy to like. A clean, masculine lavender and vetiver “blue” vibe right off the top, with a touch of citrus to brighten it—very similar to PBP, instead of any Dior stuff. Well at least to my nose. So nothing groundbreaking at first. As it starts to dry down, though, it separates itself. It becomes more balanced and refined than Polo Blue Parfum , Maybe Deep blue Parfum —But smoother, more put-together, and less casual. That initial resemblance fades into something more composed. Performance-wise, at least up front, it’s not as loud or aggressive as I expected from something labeled “Elixir.” And honestly, that works in its favor. It doesn’t scream for attention—it sits right where it should. This isn’t a fragrance for someone trying to dominate a room. It’s for someone who already carries themselves well—clean, confident, and doesn’t need to announce it. Now, price… I’m glad I didn’t pay $160 for a 1.6 oz—that probably would’ve stung. At what I paid, though? I’m satisfied. It smells good, it’s well-balanced, and it feels intentional—not overdone. Longevity is still up in the air—I’ll need more wear time to judge that properly. As of now, though, I’m starting to feel like “Elixir” is more of a label than anything else. If it’s meant to represent a richer, more concentrated version of the line, then I can see how it fits—but that’s also why I held off on the others and went with Polo Deep Blue Parfum and Blue Parfum instead. I sprayed them side by side, and the difference is clear. The heart of the Elixir is still pushing through, while Polo Blue Parfum has already settled deep into the base. At this point, I’m barely picking up anything from the Polo—just a faint trace of what’s left. Meanwhile, the Elixir is still present, holding onto that lavender-forward (possibly with a touch of violet leaf) character, backed by a solid woody base. That aromatic profile really hangs around—and I like it. At the end of the day, I’ve got nothing bad to say. I don’t regret the purchase at all. I just need to give it a proper full wear to really do it justice.

for me this is stronger Mercedes-Benz Intense thus even more in the direction of Fahrenheit. Do not know what it is but I can even smell something benzoin-like there. There are not so many Fahrenheit-like fragrances so I consider it quite precious. But with that price tag I would definitelly go with Benz Intense. Even Fahrenheit which is much better had not been that expensive

I really like this. The drydown smells exactly how I imagine the ideal freshly showered man to smell. Without the aquatic freshness, this would be just another forgettable male cologne to me but that clean quality is so addictive and edges out the competition. The only other colognes that I've smelled that retain that beautiful aquatic quality throughout are the Ralph Lauren ones. I'm absolutely gifting this to my partner sometime...

Анонім★★★★★

How the hell does this smell like Fahrenheit!? I don't smell that gasoline at all from Dior Fahreneit. I was suspecting this would smell like Ferragamo Bright Leather since it's more citrus than Fahrenheight, but no this smells like an aqua di gio strongly forward violet leaf, nutty and more woodsy in the dry down. Stop believing these reviewers and influencers and test it for yourself it might smell different on your skin and nose.

I dont like the leather note in this. Not gonna buy

Анонім★★★★★

I love it more and more. It's a wonderful mash-up of multiple fragrances I love: Original Acqua di Gio, of course - aquatic floral citrus Again his Givenchy - Blue Label (slightly sour citrus-floral, almost davana) Fahrenheit / Aqua Fahrenheit (violet leaf, Iso E Super with suede leather nuance) Gucci Pour Homme II - the spice )/herbal aspect and again, violet leaf Towards drydown, as woody leathery notes emerge, I also get hints from DKNY Men (2009) - to me one of the best works of Alberto Morillas. And, you get the modern woods, known as the "woody amber" group for extra texture that is almost a must have for today's best sellers, otherwise fragrances are labeled as "water". Usual Morillas musk blanket wrapping everything around. I think this, next to Le Sel d'Issey EdT, are contenders of the best men's designer release of the past 5 years.

Анонім★★★★★

Smells good but to me it’s underwhelming…I’ve owned most of the Acqua Di Gio line so far and Profondo is still my favourite, with Profumo being a close 2nd. I would rate Acqua di Gio Elixir as 7 out of 10.

Анонім★★★★★

Got a 70% full authentic bottle on marketplace for $30 today. Can’t wait to try this out as my AGG Profumo is almost gone I hope this is a great substitute ! What a steal

this is so overhated due to its price. Im not a fan of the price either but I cannot deny that this smells divine. Masculine aquatic fragrance with a slight old school fougere vibe to it. If creed released this for 280usd for a 50ml nobody would complain
