Armani Eau de Cèdre

I was quite late to join the party of this fragrance. As this Armani eau de Cedre has been under radar. When I was (still a fool) watching youtuber / influencer videos, I think I never heard they discussed it. Maybe somehow I missed, dunno. But anyway, like end of last year, I was so bored in the weekend, I went to local fragrance shop. And there it is, eau de Cedre was sitting in a corner of the shelf of Armani, like a "benchwarmer" for their more famous line such as Stronger WIth You, or Acqua di Gio, or even Code, which I already have at least one for each line. Somehow my hand reached that old-school looking bottle, thinking, hmmm, I never heard of it. Btw, at that time actually I was about to test Beau de Jour of Tom Ford, to get final decision if I pull the trigger or not. And honestly, even after spraying BdJ on my hand, I was still 50-50. I like it, but then not that "like" to execute with the price. So I was actually about to leave the shop when I saw this eau de Cedre. Then I sprayed it on my other hand...... I was speechless..... Totally speechless. Like wanna say, "where have you been before?????". It was love at first sniff, literally. It ticks everything what I was looking for for my daily wear. It is polite yet elegant. It is shy yet seducing. It is present yet clean. It has tea note whispering in the background of calming woody scent. I mean, really, "Where have you been before????" was keep playing in my head. So, right after I left the store, I browsed for online (hell no I pay full retail price), and saw an offer on one of my usual discounter shops. Without second thought, I pulled the trigger. And then I saw that there is an issue it is discontinued, I then "What the **** ????". I finally find my love by the ship has sailed???? Long story short, 5 minutes later I ordered the backup bottle. I didnt care. Performance wise, it is decent. It is not screaming, not whispering, but more like whistling (not in spooky horror movie type) for first 3-4 hours before become skin scent until around 6-8 hours. It projects controlled between 0.5 - 1 m, exactly what I look for. And we dont need to be afraid to overspray it, although I personally never overspray. In my opinion, it won't be head turner, that someone will chase you asking what you are wearing (which is I think so cliche in fragrance discussion). It will just create calming, polite aura, makes you approachable. Long story short, now its small decant is always in my office bag. It is my current main "after lunch respray fragrance", overthrowing Terre d'hermes eau givree, which I still have also small decant of eau givree in my bag, but reach it less than eau de Cedre. And at least once a week I wear it also since the morning. It now competes with Bvlgari PH EDP as my number one fragrance (one gives bright aura, one gives calming aura). I love that both my top 2 fragrances are under radar ones. That's why until before I am writing this, I haven't written, or commented anything about these fragrances. I dont want it to be too well known (like Sauvage or Bleu de Chanel or Acqua di Gio). I actually wanna keep them under radar. But fragrance is subjective and personal anyway. Note: regarding the discontinued issue, I think it is more about availability problem in some countries. Here in Germany, it is still available without problem (while I am still waitiung for big discount time to secure 2nd back up bottles. Too many? I DONT CARE lol)

Mild green, a bit vanillic tea scent that you can wear for every occasion.

My first bottle of this which I bought 1 year ago was produced 07/2023 And my second was produced 04/2025 So this is definitely not discontinued, Armani must of either spread this rumor or let it grow.

Armani Eau de Cèdre is my go-to summer scent. It’s fresh at first, then turns into this smooth, clean cedarwood that just feels right in the heat. What I love most is the sillage — people do notice it. It leaves a trail without ever being too much. Simple, elegant, and easy to wear. It just works.

Temiz ve odunsu. Çiçeksi tarafı da yoğun tabii ki. Aşağıda "the yulong" gibi denmiş bence o daha "çay" bir parfüm. Bunda temiz bir çiçeksi hissiyatta var. Bence tam bir sohbahar parfümü. Pürüssüz fakat çok komplekste değil. Özel gün için tercih etmem ama dolabımda görmekte mutlu ediyor. Birkaç ayda bir keyif için sıkıyorum. Ofis ortamında çok iyi gidecek bir parfüm.

beautiful hidden gem My immediately thoughts were mixed, but I gave it 10 minutes or so, and once it began to dry I was like "oh mannn", have you ever been in one of those libraries with an attached starbucks or cafe? That smell of fresh books, clean woods, and tea/coffee all mixing in the air? This fragrance really encapsulates that for me, so this will be perfect for the spring and fall. Granted I'm not a cold weather guy at all, and it makes me pretty miserable, but this will brighten my mood.

My fav. So balanced, could be unisex, I am not in love with the Violet/Sage opening, but then it reminds me my old discontinued love Gucci Pour H'omme ll, unluckily this one also discontinued, I have a refined taste in parfumes I think :)

In my assessment, the fragrances highlighted on the blog today stand out as one of the more captivating selections within Armani's product range. They effortlessly blend freshness with elegance, making them equally suitable for the youthful and the mature. These scents are dynamic and enthralling, offering a delightful experience. Despite already having Eau d'Arômes from the Eaux pour Homme line in my collection, I can't dismiss the possibility that Eau de Cèdre might join it on the shelf one day. Undoubtedly, it is an exceptional fragrance for the daytime use, a quality I might not have fully appreciated at first. My rating: Recommended. (6/7)

It's stays apart from all sweet vanilla,amber,patchouli or other artificial sweets. Its about confidence, respect and mind peace. Gentleman style in a bottle. Elegant, calming, 0 sweetness.

Insane how similar this smells to "The Yulong" by Armani, when it cools down specifically... top not does not smell like it, but around 10 mins after spraying, it smells like it. I think this is a good alternative if you don't want to spend much on "The Yulong"

To echo what clintjr82 has just posted below, I REALLY want there to be an EDP version of this. It’s such a great scent, but the longevity is under two hours on my skin. Even still, this remains one of my all-time faves. But good luck finding it anywhere, because I buy every single one I see (… evil cackle…)!

Wow, the best green tea scent for men ever so far. How in the world is this not in Edp or Extrait ? This is how masculine scents should be done balanced, NO fruity, sweet, flowery overly muddled woody stuff of today. A Mature woman seducer. Mathilde Bijaoui is genius, as she also did the Scarlett poppy intense banger . Looks like I am going to have to spend some ridiculous prices for this one. Looks discontinued

An underrated masterpiece .... I spent around 4 days .... Trying this out intermittently with others over a stretch of about two weeks and it grew on me like none of the others that took a while for me to like .... The blending is superb and the feel uplifting ... It's a tea fragrance with an almost imperceptible violet leaf and suede mostly dominated by cardamom. An exquisite blend. Not for people under 40 I would say...it's just a whole different ball game. It's vintage but with a very chic modern twist. It's a keeper for me and I am so glad it's not too common out there. As with all fragrances, try before you buy and reviews are helpful but no other nose is like your own.... That said , I just can't deal with bashers of beautiful fragrances and am sometimes compelled to think they haven't even properly tried what they bash.... Please stop! Also important to mention I lucked out and got a 2016 batch of this juice .

I recently blind bought this as I’ve had my eye on it for some time, and with the talk it’s discontinued I immediately pulled the trigger. Unfortunately this is not for me. The descriptions are pretty accurate, reminds me of being a passenger in a new car with leather seats and a green tree air freshener in it. Opening is a really harsh leather, citrus and dries to much better, softer fresher version of the opening but still has depth to it. Just not for me. Definitely masculine though. This is still about in the uk for sale.

I first reviewed this a year or two ago. It's not an absolute favourite of mine, and using it calls for restraint as, though delicate in its way, it has the capacity to be overpowering, but anyhow, this fragrance is pretty much a masterclass in sillage. I'll catch a whiff of this stuff billowing up as I'm moving along, and it's lovely--very uplifting.

My father wears this, it smells like distinguished, it doesn’t make a strong impact, but it does make a long lasting impact. It’s not here to get your attention it’s here to claim its presence, not an attention seeker, an attention grabber, demands respect. Sedat notes are very clean and leaves an intellectual, grounded after effect. I wear it as a woman, especially in office meeting settings, it does have a silent power. Very underrated which is good. It’s not for everyone for sure.

This perfume is one of my all time favorite. A hidden gem.. I can’t describe how relaxing and beautiful this is.

Such a great fresh scent (for spring/summer) however, the lasting power of this fragrance is abysmal. Maybe 2-3 hours at most.

Armani Eau Cedre is a woody, green and spicy fragrance. Its smell is very pleasant and elegant. It smells spicy of cardamom with some green accord of sage and violet leaves that also enhance the tea note. It also has a light suede accord that gives it elegance and gives it a powdery feel. Its smell is linear, my perception has been that it smells almost the same from start to finish. Only in the drying phase does it feel more woody, with its cedar and suede accord. I think it's a fragrance for intermediate seasons like spring and autumn, for special situations where you dress elegant and/or casual, but where you don't want your fragrance to be noticed more than your presence. Its longevity is not bad, it lasted 7 hours with me. approximately, but its aromatic sillage is close to the skin, with a projection of about 15 cm. To be a flanker of the Eau Pour Homme line it is not at all similar to any of the other fragrances, only in its elegance, which is the common denominator of the entire line.

It was quite a journey with this one! I love it! I was looking for something special, something unique with aromatic, green and woody notes, something calming, maybe a bit of a spiritual scent. I searched alot, until I found Eau de Cedre. It is a masterpiece, pure art, indeed special and unique! I don't care about the brand, if I ever find this scent in a cheap bottle, I'll wear it even happier. In fact, I think it smells so good that any brand who would produce this scent would grow enormously and I have no idea why it isn't much more popular. I guess it's because this is not a marketing product, but a perfumery product. Maybe this is what Armani wanted? Anyway, I am glad it's not popular! To me it smells like heaven, such a calming scent, even though at first it felt a bit "stingy" from the spices i think. Such an original scent, too bad it doesn't last forever, but it's EDT. Not sure where it comes from but it makes me think of myrrh, I guess that's the spiritual side of the scent. Too bad it's been discontinued, but who knows, maybe in a few years Armani will bring it back. If so, I only hope there will be a EDP version also, at least. aromatic, a bit woody, calming scent! black tea and cardamom are the stars here. unfortunately it's so hard to find the full bottle in my country. this is the definiton of slow living fragrance. i can imagine someone charming, soft spoken, mature, mentally and financially stable rocking this. thumbs up!

I agree as others have said, that this fragrance is not truly masculine, it's definitely leaning unisex. The part that bothers me though is the misrepresentation of notes in the pyramid. As someone who lives in the PNW and has cultivated and grown multiple species of cedar, I can tell you with certainty that there's nothing cedar-like in this frag. It smells synthetic and wants desperately to hint at something evergreen but, IMHO, fails. I had high hopes for this one, but it disappointed.

An update: One of the most excruciatingly frustrating fragrances I've ever owned. I hope what I'm about to write can help anyone considering a blind buy on this. This could have been such a better fragrance with some tweaks, a shame really. This smells nice for 80 to 90% of its lifespan while on my skin. Don't get me wrong, this definitely smells like a "designer brand mall fragrance", but it is a "designer brand mall fragrance" executed well. It is so green with a delicious tea, an intriguing cumin/ambrette/violet combination that gives it some sparkle, and a really comforting suede note, and it has grown on me more after my first review below. However, there is a distinct lack of woody notes and definitely no proper "cedar" in this, despite what the above votes would have you believe (to the point where I am convinced anyone who has voted for the "woody notes" and "cedar" above has never actually smelled a fragrance with cedar in it). It was an insane marketing move to call this "Eau de Cedre", this is a fragrance anchored around tea, violet, ambrette, and cardamon with a distinct "shampoo-like" soapy ness that I'm surprised nobody else is really mentioning below. Unfortunately, as I mentioned below, it's ruined by a ridiculous overdose of iso-e in the blend. Also, during the dry down, I have to admit this turns into a bit of a mess where it is like the entire fragrance framework/structure "collapses" and all of the mentioned notes start to lose their identities, converge, and glob together into just one distinct "smell" that weirdly resembles the smell of a shampoo or hair product. At that stage of the dry down, it really does smell scarily close to going to a supermarket and covering myself in Tresemme/Pantene Pro/Garnier Fructis or any of those types of shampoo haha. It's at that stage where the negative "smells like the fragrance aisles/section in a mall" comments from some people below come from. In my first review below, I mentioned this reminds me of a female fragrance I have smelled before in the past. Well, I figured out which one - Glossier You. I know that might sound completely out of left field and bonkers, but this genuinely reminds me of a denser, less linear version of Glossier You, just with added tea and suede notes. I believe it is also the Ambrette note in Glossier You that is making it smell similar, which I can smell in Eau de Cedre even though it's not listed above. To reiterate, this is definitely a unisex fragrance. I know this was marketed to men before its discontinuation, but I wouldn't be surprised or shocked to smell this on a woman passing by. They don't share any scent similarities at all, but wearing this puts me in the mind of Cartier L'envol EDT, as in they are both definite unisex fragrances. To some of the reviewers calling this "masculine", I mean, sure, if some of you guys are used to spraying your JPG Le Male Elixirs and other noxious, sweet bubblegum perfumes, then I can see how Eau de Cedre could smell "masculine" to you. But as someone with a fairly large collection of male fragrances, this is firmly a unisex fragrance and is one of the least traditionally masculine-smelling fragrances I've ever owned. I'm 100% fine with that, in fact, I love it when fragrances cross over between genders. I just think the number of comments below calling Eau de Cedre "magnificently masculine" and "Mature and masculine" are a bit ludicrous when this is easily something I wouldn't think twice about if I smelled it on a woman. Also, I have to mention, contrary to a lot of the opinions below, this projects well and gives off a fairly hefty sillage off my own skin. To the point where this is not a fragrance that you would want to overspray, it could get cloying extremely quickly... The iso-e in this and how that makes a lot of people go nose blind so quickly (the same effect happens in Terre d'hermes EDT) is definitely playing tricks on some of the reviewers below who think the longevity/performance of this is bad. This doesn't have monstrous performance or anything, but it's okay; I've noticed around 5 hours of consistent sillage and projection wafting around me before it starts to die away. Smells like: If you used Glossier You as the framework/base and then added certain elements of the legendary Gucci Pour Homme II (RIP) and a generic supermarket shampoo, you would get Eau de Cedre. In terms of other tea fragrances, I prefer Montabaco Intensivo, GPH II, Wulong Cha, Bvlgari Pour Homme, and the Extreme flanker to this. I also prefer the relatively new Bvlgari Pour Homme Eau De Parfum to Eau de Cedre as well. Edit: I gave this away to a work colleague. This is in no way a "bad" fragrance, but it's one of the very few occasions where I genuinely believe the discontinuation of a fragrance wasn't such a terrible loss to the fragrance world... Edit 2: Despite not having tea or suede notes, Bon Parfumeur 003 is a far better executed iteration of what Eau de Cedre smells like. 7/10

It's still on Armani's website here in Canada, although it's listed as out of stock. The reality is it's effectively discontinued. Either way, it's quite hard to find. This is a criminally underrated frag from the masterful Mathilde Bijaoui. I am absolutely thrilled that this isn't more popular, because that means there's more for me. I buy every one I find!
