Smells like something I would have sniffed from a free Avon fragrance packet back in the day… However, the Burberry Touch/Lancome Hypnose aspect to this has me really enjoying it. I personally think it’s an easy wear 26 years later…

Please bring it back this gem.

I've had this from when it was released. I've probably had four bottles in my lifetime. I've had a Bootle I purchased in about 2012 sitting in my collection which I rarely use. I'ts always had a lovely fresh and invigorating opening which I have loved from the moment I first smelt it. It's March 2026 and I've just put it on for the first time in years. Anyway, this is still an amazing scent, my wife immediately complemented me when I sat next to her, she asked what it was. This was compared in an earlier review to Rochas Aquaman and I think that comment is spot on, I would say Rochas is more creamy and sweeter in variation. I don't think this fragrance smells outdated, at least certainly not on the dry down. I wouldn't call this a classic but I will be mourning when I finally spray the last spray of my bottle. Seeing as I will never be able to purchase this again I'm pretty confident the bottle will last longer than me.

2002/2003 i discoverd this, ran through 3 bottles before they stopped selling it.

I like it but don’t love it. It’s a clean, fresh scent. I wish it was a tad stronger in my opinion. But overall it’s A nice daily scent.

Neil Tennant from Pet Shop Boys wore this 20 years ago.

Very pleasant smell. For me it was always heavy on the black pepper not,e but in a very pleasant way and with very fresh undertones. I understand why it's marketed as a masculine scent - it distinctly lacks floral and sweet notes - but if you close your eyes and ignore what it says on the bottle it's very gender neutral, and as someone who usually dislikes sweetsr scents i find it perfect. None of the heavy muskiness a lot of male scents often include

The only male perfume I can stand and truly enjoy. If one day it will be discontinued my husband will not wear any perfume.

Pleasant fresh and unique . Since it is gone ´I never had the pleasure to smell it again. I owned 3 bottles over the years. Solid compliment getter. Timeless clean fresh and lasting. Performance: 6-9 hours Sillage: 6ft leaving soft trail For whom: Gentlemen >25 My background: I only write reviews about scents I have worn already (until the bottle is finished or given away) or are in current use. I'm a Gentlemen - middle aged - predominantly in an executive office environment wearing suits and representing with many official gatherings.

June rain in Hamburg, Germany 2003. You left your office downtown and now walking down the street with your shirt beginning to cling to your body as it absorbs water. You smell the trees and young grasses as you walk by- and they are all washed by this wonderful fresh rain. You are becoming one with this rain and it feels right and comforting. A meditative beautiful scent for a rainy day in early summer.

Definitely shares quite a few similarities with Rochas Aquaman - especially in the dry-down, these both being Jaques Cavallier compositions. There's something definitively early 2000s about this fragrance. Perhaps the clove/musk note was big at the time. Starts green and fresh, then this subsides over the course of a few hours to reveal a clean, woody, spicy (clove), musky base.

I have a full bottle, if you are interested contact me.

Recently purchased Amouage Beach Hut Man and my entire first wearing of it immediately reminded me of this fragrance which I had gotten at the age of 15 back in 2000. As you may know Beach Hut is a very GREEN fragrance and has nothing beachy about it. Likewise Jil Sander was a bit confusing to me because looking at it you'd assume it was an aquatic or quasi aquatic based on the blue liquid just like Azzaro Chrome, Nautica Voyage, D&G Light Blue Intense, and others with a similar color. Nope. This one smelled just like the ivy which grew on my home. Very fresh and extremely green. Superb performance from what I remember. Sadly this one has been discontinued, but if you don't mind the price Beach Hut is strikingly similar.

I first smelled Jil Sander For Men while abroad in Copenhagen, in a tidy and tiny bathroom medicine cabinet in the cozy, sensibly arranged apartment I was staying in. I was there for a friend's wedding, in an uncharacteristically hot and humid spell for Scandinavia. After a long day of walking and transitting throughout the cities gorgeous parks & canals, in dire need of cleansing, I showered (in a stall that basically contained a toilet as well) and then helped my self to a spritz of whatever this pale blue juice in the "futuristic" bottle held in store. It washed over me with a wave of uncomplicated freshness, awakening and refreshing me, while simultaneously smoothing me out and relaxing me. No jagged edges here. The minty green top notes, delivered with a kind of sheer aqueous gentle wave, smelled invigorating and shower fresh without any generic aquatic, or drugstore/deodorant aisle cliches. That segues into an array of spices and warmer, rounder "woody-ish notes" entering the picture. After the cool green top rolls into and intermingles with this spicy heart, Jil Sander For Men stays in this steady and serene aura that is incredibly pleasant, inviting, easy, and somehow strikes an impossible balance of minimalism and maximalism. Pretty much a perfect analogy for my experience in the city of Copenhagen. Green of the ample parks, blues of the canals and sea, the wooden ships, spicy reds of the tiled roofs as far as the eye can see. It's all represented there in my mind. Pleasant, inviting, easy. Before arriving, I was curious if fragrance was socially accepted in Copenhagen (and Denmark at large) and the internet produced a range of answers ranging from "not really, maybe, sort of in Copenhagen". I ended up bringing TDH parfum, Oud Minerale, and Aesop HWYL, endeavoring to spray lightly and with situational awareness. Upon arrival I found many whiffs of fragrance, somewhat to my surprise. What I noticed fell into 3 different categories: Santal 33 (or clones), FuckBoi Club Bangers, and the last: "Heavenly smooth, inoffensive, woody/spicy/green sauna scents" which Jil Sander fits squarely in. On my first encounter with JS, it was an "Aha", as it basically presented an archetype of what I had caught subtle whiffs of from multiple Copenhagen cafes and shops. Upon my return to the States, I immediately tracked down two 125ml tester bottles, because Jil Sander will always hold a special place in my heart due to the joy of unexpected discovery and the context of a very beautiful trip. Hopefully that will tide me over for a lifetime amongst my rapidly growing collection. One look at the bottle, one sniff of the atomizer, and I am instantly transported back. That's the power of scent. It fills in those blanks that words, images, sounds fall just shy of. That magical indescribable detail. Beyond that, I use this as an anytime fragrance, as it a pleasure to wear, unlikely to offend, versatile in all situations, and mass appealing while having a personality of it's own. It's got great longevity, decent yet polite projection, and has the potential to smell good on any gender, age, etc. An "intelligent reach", if you will.

A green fresh fragrance with a prominent mint and pepper scent profile. Duration is moderate and the same goes for projection. A truly unique and well rounded scent that works for all seasons.

Анонім★★★★★

Undescribed round leafy green thing, with a bit of spices. Results more an acquatic fruity fragrance than a woody aromatic to my nose. Unpretentious and pleasant, even if not outstanding. Totally unisex to my nose.

This is such an exquisite fragrance. I didn't know that this has complicated notes composition until I read about it here. On me, it has strong sillage which you would expect from heavy and rich perfume but the scent of Sander for men is just pure heaven. I haven't smelled anything like this on any other perfumes I have in my collection.

It's like walking in the rain 😌🌧 very unique, fresh and uplifting ... very impressive harmony between the notes, a little from each.. In the 00s this fragrance was a must in my collection with Hugo Boss. I purchased Sander for men many times and as I remember every single time I felt excited as if it was the first time buying it. Pure love 💙 9/10

Another one I had to give to my gardener as I was just not feeling the sweetness and initial punch of candy and baby powder. He's probably sold it on as he still doesn't smell very nice..

Анонім★★★★★

Unique sweet mint with mild spices and cucumber feel. One of the freshest, cleanest crowdpleasers in my collection. Non-offensive blue-green-soapy but still very distinct and masculine.Extremely well balanced . You want to smell like this coming out of the shower.Cant go wrong with this one. A bargain for the 25 dollars I paid.

Sander for Men Jil Sander is s great one from the German brand ( which is my first encounter ), the Cinnamon , mint & sandelwood are very good compination on my skin. Longevity : 7/10 Projection : 7/10 Smell : 8/10 Bottle design : Simply & honestly 10/10.

Анонім★★★★★

The closest I have I can compare to Sander for Men is Michael Kors Extreme Blue, both are spicy aromatic.

Анонім★★★★★

Smells so much like Carbon by Ajmal in the top and mid. Idk who down voted that comparison, because it seems like it hurt their ego that a super cheap fragrance can smell similar to this one. The slight difference begins near the drydown where there's more warmth and spiciness in this one while the Ajmal scent is monotone throughout.

Great freshie, better than many similars.

The bottle by Fabien baron is a work of art. The scent itself is quite good..it could have been great but it's merely good. Why? There is a minimal feel to the this fragrance you even get a cool cucumber note and just when you think this is just a boring office scent a naughty spiciness kicks in and it becomes so much better. It's funny because the bottle is so cool to hold and look at and it overtakes the perfume I think. This could have been a Helmut Lang fragrance inside that bottle but it is just a merely good fragrance Inside an incredible bottle.

Анонім★★★★★

Longevity and projection are atrocious. Maybe one hour before it's a skin scent. Also has a very plasticky note about it that dominates the fragrance. Very generic smelling. The sprayer is amazing, though! Will not be repurchasing.

This was always one of my hidden gems. I have a few sprays left of my last bottle, but now it appears it's been discontinued. I bought my last bottle for $17 (125ml), but now I see the same bottle from $127 up to $546. The price gouging has begun, and I'm sad to say, I probably won't be able to purchase this again. This is a subtly spicy, fresh, somewhat green fragrance that's unmistakably masculine. I get strong spice from the pepper, cardamom, and coriander, and to a lesser extent, the cloves and cinnamon. The ivy leaf, cypress, and mint give it just a hit of green freshness, and the base of cedar, sandalwood, tobacco, and labdanum anchor it with a pleasant drydown. It's clean, spicy, crisp, balanced, and artfully blended. This might be my favorite from Jacques Cavallier. I don't understand the hate for this in the reviews. I've never smelled anything like it, so to me it's unique and exciting, and pleasantly masculine, but not aggressively so. This is absolutely perfect. If you can find it under $100, grab it. And then tell me! 10/10 EDIT: This seems to be getting a bit easier to find again, and I don’t see the expensive prices anymore. It’s not as cheap as it was, but you can find the 125 mil bottle under $50.
