I genuinely really do love this as a gourmand guy who despises tropicals, florals, aquatics, etcetera, everything that's popular for summer and spring. It's a very sweet and clean iced-lemon-pound-cake-esque scent without being cloying at all. My one and only complaint is I wish it lasted longer; I lose sillage after only an hour, and within 6 hours of application I can hardly smell it at all.
I love this fragrance on my wife. She sprays it on in the restroom and it becomes room filling but not cloying. Vanilla forward with citrus notes.
Its fine... i do struggle to understand why someone would love to smell like lemony baked goods tho. Like why? I feel the same way about Devotion, nothing really threw me off about either and I have the same questions for both. For a scent profile of a lemon pie you might as well go cheaper.
I dont hate this but there is something about it that smells very dated to me. Its like something your grandmother would wear ?? idk i just get that vibe. I really wanted to like this. Im not getting too much vanilla from it either, mainly a dense soapy citrus
As someone who loves smelling like desserts, I really loved how much “Victoria” smells like a sweet lemon pie, can’t wait to get this one on my hands
One of those rare times when the dupe is actually better than the original. I would choose Victoria over Devotion any day. It’s better blended, more interesting, and I absolutely adore this perfume! I wouldn’t describe myself as a fan of lemon fragrances, but this one is the most delicious lemon meringue pie. And the white florals add an airy softness to it and they make it even more perfect and better than the original Devotion. I made my boyfriend smell this this too, a man who is usually completely uninterested in perfumes and even he agreed that it genuinely smells like lemon meringue pie.
When I first received Victoria for Christmas I thought it smelled like lemon furniture cleaner. I let it mature 8 weeks and what a difference it made. It turned into a soft, powdery lemon vanilla fragrance. It’s great to wear alone or layered. Longevity, projection and silage aren’t outstanding but aren’t bad either. I dropped and broke my first bottle a few months ago and immediately bought another.
I really wanted to like this but unfortunately I just don’t. It’s not bad by any means I just find it to be so mediocre that I never reach for it. I have however found good use for it using it as a layering scent with other fragrances. On its own, it smells good, but really nothing that blew me away and I hardly wear it by itself. I would not purchase again, but I’m not mad I own it.
Just got a bottle today. And honestly it’s so good straight out of the box. It’s simple but very pleasant at the same time.Victoria is slightly sweeter and yummier than D&G. It smells like vanilla with a little bit of citrus. Nothing complicated but that's the whole point. So easy to wear and just enjoy it. Bottle is very cute! It look stunning on my vanity.
I’ve had this maybe 4-5 months now. It’s still sitting in a drawer, haven’t really worn it out yet. Actually to hasten the changes, I put this in my fridge for a week and it has actually improved somewhat. It is very neroli forward atm not so much a “sweet”creamy gourmand (yet). But, it is developing and it’s definitely very nice. I’m hoping this will change more as I really want a nice creamy lemony scented perfume. (I bought Arabiyat lemon sorbet in the meantime a few weeks ago and wow that one is very nice sweet strong creamy lemon 🍋 straight out of the box). Victoria did smell very lemon furniture polish when I got it, so it’s definitely improving over time. I think she will be a star in my collection. It went from ok to very much like now.
I was supposed to test the Eclair (vanilla) but the top was lacking, and the pistachio was empty. They sell these in a store where I wouldn´t expect to find a perfume I would actually find worth buying. Think low end, great for razors and toothbrushes. I´ve smelled it before from the bottle cap and thought it smelled cheap, not my style. I sprayed a good amount on my arm and expected to feel that dirty feeling I get sometimes from testing inexpensive sweet gourmand types, maybe Lattafa also comes in that category for me honestly. I´m surprised no one as far as I´ve seen picked up on the strong cinnamon in the opening. Really prominent on me about 20 minutes out. Faded within an hour. The powder came on right away. Cinnamon, sugar, powder. Even black pepper. You may think I´m crazy, but that´s what I got and it was really interesting. A tiny bit of violet as in Kerbside Violet by Lush. As Figmentofyourimagination says yes, it´s identical enough to the Comforter bubble bar by Lush. A warm, cosy vanilla emerges about an hour plus in, plasticky not in a bad way but reminiscent of Cloud synthetic note. Perhaps that´s the lemon, it stings. I also get MAC lipstick sweetness, they may use different scents and mostly none, but I have one that´s reminiscent. It does not feel clean. There´s nothing in it that makes me think of soap. Perhaps a very mild detergent. Since today I´m very curious about it, I even want to buy it. It may be a bit too much heavy sweetness for me, and honestly there´s a cheapness to it. I also feel like I´ve smelled it a dozen times on highschool girls, you know the scent profile. It projects a bit too much for my taste. I think the final test would be, would I wear it to a party where I wanted to come across as myself? It´s not elegant, it smells cheap, it´s not uplifting, seductive or mysterious. It lacks the qualities I´m really looking for. I guess I´m writing myself out of buying it. Although I was very excited about the opening. Two hours in and the dessert has collapsed on the plate.
Lattafa Victoria was a Burlington blind buy for me. I researched the notes and as I love lemon and I love vanilla, I thought that I would love Victoria. She's ok! I wish I liked it more. The bottle is beautiful! I kept it in my collection, but I never wear Victoria by itself, I always have to layer it with something else, usually a vanilla body mist. It just falls a little flat for me, like it either needs to be more citrusy or have more vanilla. It's pleasant and it was only $30, so it wasn't a huge gamble.
I love this! Perfect summer/warm weather gourmand! Compliments galore whenever I wear it.
it grindsssssssssss my gears when ppl compare this to devotion. it is not even close if you actually know scents or smell them near each other. devotion is so beautiful, panacotta, while this is lemon meringue pie! do your research or own both. lemon scents arent equal... this is okay but its not devotions!
i’m so surprised nobody else has pointed out that this smells EXACTLY like the comforter bubble bar from lush?! this is so nostalgic of walking past a lush store i’m obsessed with this. don’t expect a lactonic lemon meringue pie, it’s more of a candy lemon vanilla.
I had my fingers crossed for this one because I ADORE the bottle. however, this is a no for me. initially in the opening I get hyper-sweet lemon pie for sure, but immediately on dry down the neroli gives it a soapy, almost dated scent to me. it smells like something my grandma might have on her counter for years from a random gift set she felt obligated to keep since her kid got it for her.
Reviewing this straight out the box. Sturdy bottle with heavy cap. I don't think it is as beautiful as some other bottle designs by Lattafa, the blue print sticker is pretty tacky and the whole faux Victorian aesthetic was tacky overall, but it is a solid bottle. Scent wise, it was love at first sniff. I don't smell baby powder or harsh lemon like some said. This is a very tame, smooth and airy perfume. I thought it would be denser and cloyingly gourmand but no. No rubbing alcohol scent. If you encounter these problems, be sure to check you didn't get a fake. Only issue is the strength. This doesn't seem like it will last long because of how airy it is. I only did a patch test but the scent is very mellow. I would say it is blind buy safe, unless you dislike softer, airier perfumes or this DNA.
10/10 all around. suchhhh a compliment getter. perfect vanilla to lemon ratio, the neroli gives it more depth too. in love totally!
I might like Victoria more than Devotion because it's even more balsamic and syrupy sweet. More candied lemon here from the neroli right off the bat, very sugared, whereas Devotion has a more prominent bitter lemony green undertone in the opening, it's overall lighter not as stuffy and fluffy and it doesn't become too powdery on me. Devotion is more refined, elegant, not as linear as Victoria, it's solar from the orange blossom, more aromatic so its balsamic boozy liqueur scent is more dimensional as a perfume. Devotion doesn't become thick or powdery (same league as Le Monde Gourmand Meringue Magique but that one's built around orange -not orange blossom- with that lactonic liqueur type of balsamic boozy praline sweetness). Victoria has a green lemony undertone in the opening and throughout too, not as intense and crisp, more rounded and which is super smooth and syrupy. I tested them from the initial spray side by side. Victoria's whole scent quickly becomes super sugared and powdery on me and more balsamic-thick than Devotion's elegant rum balsamic vein, so much that it reminds me of vintage scented powders but within that gourmand lactonic, lemon pie aroma. Its heady powdery balsamic effect can feel heavy in the summer. Bbw Loyal to You is closer to Devotion to my perception, lighter more aromatic and refined with that almost bitter green lemony undertone from the lemon blossom more pronounced that stays throughout. Loyal To You is like lemon creme cookies, a lighter gourmand scent, no powdery effect. They're all balsamic and sugared, their differences are honestly negligible, but Victoria can get stuffy truth be told at least to my nose. Maybe why it gets some bad reviews. My favorite might be Loyal To You for work but I no longer reside in the States so I can't get it replaced once I run out so Victoria will replace it (or even another Arabic dupe). I keep Devotion to wear on formal occasions, but Victoria is such a sugared gourmand bomb that I reach for it more often for my own enjoyment as it feels more decadent, playful and heavier. The bottle is art.
So very sweet and one dimensional. After 10 minutes on the wrist I had to scrub it off as it made me more and more nauseous. I've been trying to give Lattafa a chance, got a few tester discovery sets, but they all that distinctive unpleasant note, like burnt plastic.
Very rounded scent, inoffensive by most measures to me, crowd pleaser for sure! The vanilla and meringue complement well the bright lemon, yet, I remain to be swayed to the side of lemon lovers. It is not for me to be smelling all day, but I would easily recommend it!
just smelled my devotion, this is way better imo.
Intended to buy this as a dupe for Devotion but ended up buying both! They are pretty similar, so here is my comparison of the two: Victoria is a lot more floral, and the Lemon is very powdery and slightly synthetic. The biggest note is for sure the creamy vanilla. On the other hand Devotion is a lot spicier, sort of like a bourbon-y bananas foster, with a smokier vanilla! Victoria is a lot more wearable daily, but I've had people sneeze around me from Devotion. I like to pair Victoria with a coconut body spray for a Pina Colada vibe in the summer. Its cute! Totally gourmand but maybe not a blind buy because of the powder.
The opening is a little sharper than I expected, but it soon settles into a soft, airy lemon. Unlike the rich, candied lemon in d&g devotion, this one feels much lighter and more delicate. I have to admit, the neroli was a bit soapy on me at first (I usually don't love neroli or orange blossom notes!). After about 10 or 15 mins, it calmed and transformed into a really gorgeous trio of lemon, vanilla and neroli. The scent is pretty linear from then onwards. On my skin it never develops that rich, caramel dry down that makes devotion so addictive. Performance is fairly light on me. I need to liberally spray to achieve a nice scent bubble. It lasts a few hours on my skin, but definitely sticks around longer on clothes. I do think it's a lovely, easy to wear and mass appealing fragrance. It's soft, pretty and makes for a perfect cosy bedtime scent. If I'm in the mood for this kind of lemon and vanilla scent profile, I'd still reach for devotion over victoria because it's richer and longer lasting.
The perfume pyramid and the previous comments are so different than what I came to say. :) I don't get the lemon meringue smell at all or maybe I never had a meringue to be smelling so good. But if someone would ask me, gourmand would be my last word to describe it. I would say it's florally vanilla. It remind me of a mild down version of Chopard Cashmir. Not as beast mode as Cashmir... that thing lasts 24-48h. This one I can barely smell it after a few hours, but given the price I don't mind carrying and spraying whenever I feel like a refresher.
Victoria smells like being six years old, eating vanilla ice cream at the kitchen counter. You spill it, panic because you don't want Mommy to get mad, and reach for a lemon-scented cleaner. The result isn't clean vanilla or fresh lemon, but a sticky, citrusy mess.
Neroli encased in a mountain of sugary whipped meringue. This is a gourmand! It quite sweet and heavy on the tart, bright, neroli-lemon notes! Compared to Delicious Bouquet, I that one is way more creamy custard. This one is lighter and more airy. I think this is the daytime and Delicious Bouquet is the nighttime version. I love this DNA so I don’t mind owning both.
YUMMY!! You're a walking lemon pie. I'm so glad this one works for me. If you love lemon gourmands, give this a try. The lemon isn't too sharp. You'll get a whiff of its light, fresh, tangy zest. So yummy.
So, I got a bottle of this as I loved devotion. I got bought devotion as a gift so sold Victoria… and I actually miss it. Victoria is slightly brighter and lemony than devotion, so makes it more suitable for spring/summer (although not in a heatwave maybe), whereas devotion is more an autumn winter cozy fragrance. In short, I’m off to order another bottle of Vitoria 🤣
I bought this hoping it would be sweet and lemony. It smells synthetic to me and I don’t really understand why it’s so well rated. I keep spraying and putting it back in my drawer hoping it will improve. It’s been 3 months, it smells like scented erasers I had as a kid in the early 80’s is the only way to describe the smell. Does this get better over time?? I threw it back in the drawer. Will give it a year and then pass it on if no improvement.
