Greenley

Had Greenley for years now but rarely reach for it. That bold, bright apple is loud and on my nose it can get a bit too insistent. Tried layering Greenley with Torino 21 the other day and immediately earned myself a migraine and an impromptu/unplanned WFH day. A cautionary tale. Lessons learned. It's still a great perfume with solid performance nevertheless.

My first experience with Greenley was stunning, the crisp green apple was incredible and unique. After buying it a little over 2 years later I find that the green apple note leans more green instead of fruity. Although I don't personally mind this change I think if you are considering buying Greenley should keep in mind especially at its given pricepoint. What I think makes Greenley stand out compared to other green fragrences from my experience comes from its drydown, subdued sweetness, soft woody notes and slighty floral. Absolutely sensational. As the oakmoss, patchouli, wood and musk surfaces more prominently towards the end of the perfume, I really enjoyed the smooth transition from green and floral to a darker, mossier and woody base. Wearing Greenley for the first time felt almost like going on a journey, a unique experience I would definitely recommend if its within your budget and you enjoy green/woody fragrences.

I’m something of a neutral when it comes to PDM. They’re too expensive, but so are many other houses. Their sweet, warmer fragrances tend to deliver much more than their fresh offerings. Greenley follows this trend, and for me it’s the weakest of their fresh scents. A thin oakmoss base, generic male freshness and an apple top that smells remarkably like fairy liquid dish soap. You can do a lot more with your money and smell better than this. No sense of luxury here. D-

Not a fan of this. It has a note to it that reminds me of cheap clone perfumes. I don't know if it's the oakmoss or amber but whenever I smell it I get turned off of the scent completely... Ok about an hour later it's just an oakmoss bomb to my nose and I don't like it at all.

After going through roughly 30% of my 125ml, I’m just not feeling this release. I sure did give it a try though. Anything that I have to convince myself is good because it’s expensive is a major red flag. To me, Greenley is the essentially a chemical opening that elicits a small headache followed by a rather dull and unremarkable dry down. Performance in major heat is subpar and burns off almost immediately if you are sweating. Medium levels of sillage and projection. If you are aged 10-18 and have rich parents, this is a perfect scent for you.

deep dry down has a bacarat smell i think its becuase of the amberwood overal its a lovely and fun summer scent top 5 rn for me

Based on the notes (particularly green apple), I was really excited to try this scent and even considered a blind buy. I'm glad I went with a decant first. To me, this smells like cheap body spray with a chemical/rubber undertone. I definitely couldn't pick up much of the green apple I was hoping for. I might give it one more try to see if it was just an off day. But based on my initial trial, this is one of the worst fragrances I've tried on. For a fresh, fruity smell, I find Jo Malone's English Pear and Freesia much more appealing.

Sophisticated and classy, fresh and then the wood and classy oak moss comes out in the dry down

Opening is fruity-citrusy-Flintstone's Vitamins-y....the Apple comes through clearly, and their is a somewhat dry/powdery sweetness to it. It starts to calm down pretty quickly, and a fresh fruity Citrus-ness with some wood comes out... the other notes are still there, but they are close to the skin. 20 minutes in, this one is literally giving me shivers. This one is a masterpiece, and a strong Buy. It is better in the air than close to the skin, but I need this one.

this fragrance is a great orange and apple fragrance with a lot of little complexities all coming together to make a wonderfully blended spring scent. a wonderful inoffensive fragrance thats loved by all who have smelled it off of me at least. very good highly recommend, 8.5/10

If you grew up in Malaysia, this smells exactly like an old Indian neighbourhood barbershop with shaving services after the morning incense was offered to the Great Ganesha.

UPDATE: Greenley is awesome. It is clean, fresh, unique, green... it's just so good. It took me a full 10ml decant to really appreciate Greenley and to understand why clones like Aether Extrait can't touch the OG. I'm not a baller, so I'm not going to buy a bottle right away, but if I will pull the trigger if I find the right discount. I would choose this over Sedley easily. ORIGINAL: really want to love Greenley, but I just can’t give it the kind of praise you see on social media. It’s definitely a clean, shower‑gel type fragrance that feels safe and works well in warm weather or close‑quarter settings like the office. But for me, it doesn’t really do anything unique enough to justify the price. I don’t get much of the green apple that people talk about. I can pick up a hint of it in the opening, but overall, it comes across more like clean cedar with a slightly green, almost aquatic feel. Before trying Greenley, I had Aether Extrait, and I liked it enough that I expected Greenley to really impress if it was a step up. In reality, it isn’t elevated enough from that DNA to make me want a full bottle. It’s a bit smoother, but not in a way that feels meaningful. Scent: 7.8/10 Performance: 6.8/10 It’s a good fragrance, just not the one for me. In this space, I actually (much) prefer something like Sedley, and my current go‑to for a clean, refined scent is still L’Immensité.

To me this smells like the freshest green apple in an evergreen forest. Woody with some citrus notes, slightly sweet and slightly minty. For me it projects for the first 1,5-2 hours and stays on my skin for 9+. It is my favorite summer fragrance right now! Definitely not everyone's cup of tea tho, I'd recommend you try it first before buying.

Great for any serious occasion where you wanna smell sweet, too grassy for me, but its not bad at all. Just my taste

This is highly likeable fresh and simultaneously discreet aromatic perfume which has a plethora of summer aromatic elements inside. It gives you an old money fresh vibe which is oriented with a high quality niche aspect.

One of the most complex fragrances to love I’ve come across. I love it now, I loved it when I first smelled it, but it was a love hate in between. I got a sample after smelling it at a store, and when the sample arrived, I immediately loved it on that first wear. And then on subsequent wears my nose picked up a lot more woods and moss and a lot less sweetness and apple. Performance seemed weak, because I was looking for the fresh sweet apple and was just getting the woods and moss. I felt like the scent I loved was not there after a few wears. I decided I didn’t like it enough, but something kept me coming back tot he sample. After more wears, I got to understand the balance of this scent, and to appreciate the way it made me feel. It’s soft, sophisticated and classy to my nose. And as I wore my sample and started to run out, I thought I’d miss it if I ran out. I ended up realizing that despite the changes in expectations of what it was, I now love it for what I know it is. I’ve sampled 65 fragrances, and have just bought 10 out of those. This is one of them, and I love having it. But the road to loving it was unexpectedly complex for what most people deem a simple freshie. It’s not simple for me, and I don’t think I can find something like it other than clones. For me it’s worth it because it makes me feel in a unique way that none of my other bottles or samples do, but I can definitely see why it’s not for everybody.

OMG! This is so boring for a expensive fragrance. The smell is meh. Doesn't project and barely lasted. Must be a joke! PDM must be laughing at your expense. Seriously!

One of my favourite freshies. For me it is more of an everyday wear than a night out. I LOVE the green apple in the opening, but unfortunately (and expected) that does not last. The woodyness at the bottom/end is super nice and keeps some of the freshness within it. On my skin there's a faint scent of lemony sandalwood.

Very green opening, (surprise). Around 15 minutes later it settles into something very relaxed and pleasant. Simple, like-able but overpriced.

ehhh not my cup of tea i dont dislike green frags but this one is just meh as everyone says imagine an apple shampoo mixed with walking in the woods but for me theres something that makes it not as intense like the woods are not really intense as i imagined and theres a some florals that just make this very light and leaning unisex also theres a pretty sour oakmoss like its smells like vinegar i mean in my opinion if your getting this as your first niche maybe consider to buy this as your second niche but its probably just not for me

This fragrance is incredible. It has a perfect balance between freshness and muskiness. It smells like green apple, lemon, and an overall outdoorsy redolence with some woodiness. It projects well and lasts a good amount of time, around 4 hours in the air and 8-10 hours on skin. Parfums de Marly Greenley is the perfect green freshie. 10/10

A very effervescent opening with a lot of lemon and apple - very appealing if ever so slightly herbal. In the dry down it is a very comforting scent. I really am enjoying this. Summer scent only.

This one is ok. I like it more than most Parfums De Marley Fragrancebuy insists on sending me. However, when you start associating this with Febreeze's christmas tree scent then you'll stop wearing it immediately. Perhaps if someone used green apple scented body wash and then put a bit of a Creed Aventus styled fragrance on after, you'd get close. If this was priced at around $20-50 price range I would be way less harsh but since it isn't and this doesn't come off to me as original enough to justify the price point I'm going to be. I wish Parfums De Marley would get out of this bad habit that they have of selling designer like scents at niche price points. Perseus is another one of them. Even if this didn't have a single synthetic ingredient that scares people on social media who usually have no idea what they're talking about and this was actually expensive to make, all I know is that If I walked down the road I'd think someone at best was wearing Lacoste, Paco Rabanne or some sort of Rasasi Hawas fragrance. Up close you have this really sour bergamot and grassiness that I couldn't care less about. Admittedly I like this in the air. Summer and possibly fall, this could be worn by almost anyone regardless of age. I find this has a lot of mass appeal so like spicebomb extreme, don't smell it up close. If this was priced better I'd absolutely recommend it to people, however, if you've got your parents money to burn and maybe just maybe this is your first "niche" fragrance and you want to start with Parfums De Marley because you're too proud to wear clones. Start with Herod or Haltane. What I'd rather wear instead. Due to the petitgrain, citrus, oakmoss, musk and patchouli I would just reach for Caron Le Matin. There is no green apple but to me anyways they achieve a similar goal and from discounters that Caron is like $50 (American) for 125ml. You just need to put 7+ sprays on. I'll admit Greenley smells a bit better by the dry down but it's not life changing. That or for a similar atmosphere, just put on Rasasi Fattan, mostly due to the grassiness. However, neither are clones.

What’s the thing with people saying this smells like freshly cut grass? It smells nothing like that. People really have very strange scent receptors.

Smells like aromatic freshly cut grass and vetiver. Reminds me of a mossy forest and i love it!

I have smelled althair and hmm it’s nice….but greenley hhh please pdm stop producing this cheap shower gel kind of perfume. Reminds me of the old adidas freshie or deodorant
