Safanad

Smells a lot like the orange flavoured Chewits sweets I enjoyed in my childhood, a long, long time ago when life was simple. To be honest it hasn’t got a lot going for it given the very high price. It’s a perfectly pleasant generic fruity/floral which vanishes on my skin in little more than an hour.

Smells like an expensive sunscreen

not my style. flowers are eternal on skin even after 2 scrubs of my wrist i can still smell them, especially jasmin.

Safanad is a full-bodied scent. It is quite sweet on the opening, or perhaps petit-grain heavy. However, after about thirty minutes, it develops into a creamy floral that always brings me compliments. I think this scent works better in the winter so that it is not overwhelming. It has excellent longevity. I also wear Delina La Rosee, Delina Exclusif and Valaya Exclusif.

Rich, warm sexy orange blossom, vanilla and amber with a powdery dry down. Classy and sexy. Made for romantic evenings on the Costa Smeralda, Hugo Spritz in hand watching the sunset after a fantastic day on the beach. Gorgeous. Its a love for me.

This smells so good, much better than my experience with Athenais and I kinda get now why some people do think they smell similar because of the orange blossom. However on my skin it pretty much develops into Prada Paradoxe, which I'm not mad at considering it's my favorite perfume, but it's way too similar and "common" to be existing at this price point.

Ohh why I never thought of trying this earlier? I had an impression that it’s gonna be a basic orange blossom designer style scent, but no. Creamy dreamy orange blossom, ylang ylang and sandalwood potion. It is very rich in texture, but I also have that plaster association to it. I imagine stucco, baroque, relief ceiling, light beaming through the lavish palace

It really reminds me of something my mom owned back in the 80s/90s but I have no idea what it was. The soft vanillic amber powder dry down with a touch of Iris. Makes it smell like vintage perfume. It gives antique vanity with powder pouf and cold creams. Out of the two PDM vintage type scents I’ve smelled (this and Athalia) I prefer the latter. Although the scent memory of this one really does send me to a lovely place to see that younger version of my mom that no longer exists ❤️ If anyone else gets a whiff of the same thing, a memory of something t their mom or aunt or grandmother had, please comment what it is if you can remember.

Iris kills this for me. Not a fan of powdery scents. Sweet Floral with refined granny vibes

I absolutely adore several of the PDM perfumes, but this one was an unexpected scrubber for me. I didn't like how the decant bottle smelled but sprayed it on my wrist anyway. Had to wash it off an hour later. Not sure if it's the combination of Ylang Ylang and amberwood that does not sit right with me but yeah it's a hard pass for me unfortunately...

I received a decant of this to try randomly and this is one of my favourite scents from PDM. The scent reminds me of something else I’ve smelt but I can’t say what (I’m aware others say JPG but it’s been forever since I got my nose on that so I can’t say for sure) It’s office friendly and not too pear heavy. I’m clearly a sucker for orange blossom as I seem to like plenty of scents with that note. I got pretty good performance on this although with that price tag I guess I’d want longer than I got.

Smells like soap in a luxury hotel bathroom. Not necessarily bad but really not for me.

It's nice, but it's basically a well-behaved copy of Classique, so missing the point... I wish she had a bit of skank or any original "hmpf"

Safanad is my second favorite PDM perfune after Delina Exclusif. I genuinely adore how elegant and feminine it feels. It opens with a soft, juicy pear and orange brightness, but quickly melts into a creamy floral heart that feels smooth, warm, and slightly powdery. The dry-down is where it really wins me over with amber, vanilla, and sandalwood. It’s refined, comforting, and effortlessly chic, and I find myself reaching for it often when I want something soft but still luxurious.

Again, a pretty composition, this one makes me think of Libre by Ysl with it's orange blossom notes and vanilla, the dna reads or rather smells somewhat similar to it, nether the less, it is pretty but not for me at all. If you are into this white flowers and sugar type of fragrance, I think you'd like it

I have several Parfums de Marly fragrances, but this is one I reach for a LOT. Sweet, honeyed orange blossom, then a very cozy yet elegant amber vanilla that is pretty and comforting, and makes me happy. My husband loves this one on me, too, so bonus points for that. I do occasionally layer something over it too - Glossier You gives it that peppery skin musk boost, and when I mix this with Meliora, it adds a bit of fruity exuberance.

Creamy, luxurious and clean, reminds me of going to the dinner freshly showered after a long day on holidays in south europe. I was thinking that it really reminds me of something and now I know of what! It smells nearly exactly as the classic Nuxe body oil (more like the oil on skin not the perfume of that scent, just like it on the body, maybe that’s why it reminds me of a evening on holidays) xx

This is a beautiful fragrance truly golden in aura… tart and sweet white floral that’s airy and warm having a classical opulence with a modern soul…. I would put it in the category of J’adore Extrait de Parfum… it reminds me of that which I ADORE…. (Disclaimer: these notes are off this official Parfums de Marly card) Top Notes: Orange, Pear & Petitgrain Essence Heart: Jasmine Sambac Absolute, Ylang-Ylang & Orange Blossom Base Notes: Amber, Vanilla & Sandalwood I haven’t smelled Classique so I can’t tell you how close they are… this is sensual & just OMG I love this more than Delina

This smells thick like honey, sickly sweet, warm, spicy and deep- I don’t think get any orange blossom from this sadly. Smells nice like the cinnamon apples in old school Kids Cuisine microwave meals. Not my vibe

Absolutely gorgeous! Safanad is a masterpiece scent and my favorite orange blossom on the market. One of the most feminine things I’ve ever smelled and my signature scent most of the year- it feels extremely chic and ‘understated luxury’. This has presence but isn’t the type of scent that fills a room; it doesn’t announce your arrival because you don’t need it to. I get lots of compliments on this, especially when people come in for a hug. This opens with juicy, sweet mandarin orange and syrupy pear with a touch of bright petitgrain. They quickly transition to slightly solar florals (OB, Ylang & Jasmine- there is no Iris in this). The Orange Blossom here is perfectly balanced; not too sweet like LDBS or too soapy like La Fille de L’air. Ylang ylang contributes a lot of creaminess and brings a summery vibe (still wearable in 3 seasons). The dry down pulls you in with warm amber and ethereal vanilla. I tested Classique to see if I could get my signature scent at a lower price point. They are definitely not interchangeable. Classique feels heavier, more powdery, and vintage. And, I detect a distinctive ashy cigarette quality when smelling it up close. Safanad is ‘cleaner’, brighter, more modern, transparent and airy.

This is by far my favourite Parfums De Marly. Gorgeous sweet orange blossom, not overly sweet though, it’s clean and a bit sun screen-y. In love. God I love vintage scents.

Safanad the Pure is a legendary mare, rumored to be the mother of all Arabian horses. She is mentioned in non-scriptural Arabian folktales as a gift given to King Solomon, by the Queen of Sheba. Safanad the perfume is a richly powdery and sweetly vanillic, white floral concoction, set upon a classic ambre-santal base. It is a finely-done interpretion of this theme, for those that seek something appproching overwhelming.

Very mature & outdated

This is such a beauty! So underrated because everyone prefers the Delinas and Valayas but Safanad is a wonderful orange blossom with much warmth and depth. One of my absolute favorites from Parfums de Marly!

This smells like old lady perfume to me. Headache inducing.

this is the kind of vanilla i love. sweet, warm and not too overpowering. this scent is a citrusy, warm floral. perfectly balanced and so damn good

This one is interesting. It smells good in a more dry climate (the south) - citrus floral, sweet undertones of vanilla. But in a humid climate (up north) it smells watery and a little offputting. It's the same fragrance but the dry climate makes it more pallet able. Unfortunately won't be buying beyond my 10ml but it's certainly not a bad experience. Just not quite for me.
