Energetically New York

FYI : Zara brought out Sandalwood Driftwood as part of the Zara Ocean collection, and it was the N° 02 of that collection. It's very rare to find and even here on Fragrantica it's not even mentioned , so it was a short lived production. But Zara being Zara, they rebottled that perfume under the name Energetically New York.

Começa com um cheiro que me lembra suco de limão bem cortante. Depois de uns 15 minutos começa a assentar, trazendo a nota de sândalo de forma deliciosa. Perfume fresco, gostoso e agradável, além de ser barato. Me lembra muito o Carolina Herrera's 212 Men NYC, não senti o Sandal 33 ainda para saber se é tão parecido quanto dizem. Minha dica se for comprar: deixa macerando por 1 semana.

ugh, I received this as a gift and tbh the opening is kinda disgusting. it settles into straight up sandalwood and it's not a warm spicy scent AT ALL. It's a beast when it comes to longevity and projection and it's kinda flat. I'm not layering it cause it doesn't blend well with vanilla or oud, it doesn't blend well with citrus or red fruits. Idk it's such a mehhhhh perfume. 4/10

A wierd smell of synthetics. For me it's OK to use it a home interior fragrance, but on skin it feels odd, sadly :/

Amazing sandalwood based fragrance and lasts forever especially on clothes. Definite buy and great value.

I get the Santal 33 reference, but to me this smells more like Carolina Herrera's 212 Men NYC. The drydown is what gets me, I can smell this for hours!

the hand cream initially gives a perfumed cucumber but it makes my nose happy

I own both Energetically New York and Le Labo Santal 33 and to me they're the same vibe. Maybe not exactly the same but they're close. Santal 33 is more leathery to me whereas Energetically New York is more of a creamy santal. It lasts forever and is quite pleasant. Not as strong as Le Labo Santal 33 which is a good thing to me.

Yesterday I smelled it on my friend. I asked him if he is wearing crystal Noir.he said I don't know because he has no interest in perfumes but he showed me it's picture..wow its a beautiful scent 💘 it's very similar to crystal Noir

Bought it back in 2022, and I loved the smell so much that I bought the 100ml bottle, and used it as a more refreshing and unisex option in my collection. Fast forward to 2025/2026, halfway through the bottle, the smell has definitely changed, with the sandalwood smell gone and something slightly acidic has come up. The bottle has been kept in the closet away from sunlight, so it is rather saddening.

Excellent fragrance in terms of smell, really enjoy wearing it to bed as it is very much of my likeness. Not really a disgraceful performer, but don’t expect much. You know when you’re a kid and see Red Bulls all over, not knowing what it tastes like but wanting to? This smells like that. As a kid, if someone asked me how would I describe the RedBull smell without knowing how it tastes, this is what I would’ve gotten. Not sure of the comparison with santal 33, but looking forward to getting the elixir version of this one. Approved fragrance.

Surprisingly very nice. Opening is very aquatic and as many say, fresh cucumber. After some hour it sets down to a very nice sandalwood which lasts for hours with a soft projection. A bargain for the price. But smells nothing like Santal 33 which many compare it with. Which is a good thing since i do not like Santal 33.

I get a very strong cucumber note when I first sprayed it. Quite like it surprisingly, the cardamom comes in after, gives it a bit of a spiced herbaceous kick which stays for the next few hours. I can't smell much of the sandalwood though, mostly smells like a fresh aquatic perfume, not one her generic blue ones, but really fresh and water aquatic like. One of my favourite fragrances, definitely got to reapply or overspray for it to last a bit longer. It is definitely overpriced as compared to the previous years.

At first this smelled fresh and woody. But in use I’m not getting any woody notes. It’s just vaguely fresh and a little unnoticeable. Dries really masculine

Fantastic. Cucumbery exit, not a thick sandalwood. Clean & refreshing. I feel it sits between santal and imagination (or aqua dubai more specifically). This lasts longs with a moderate projection which makes it ideal as a day summer spring fragrance when you dont want to feel heavy. Will try layering it with sunrise at the red sun dunes.

What a fantastic fragrance. Leans between masculine and unisex, and opens with a cucumber note. Surprisingly, the cucumber lasts longer than one might expect. Excellent value for money, a safe blind purchase. Spicy cucumber.

This stuff is bussin!!! Picture this: You spray this on your first day and you are literally transported on a sunny day in an island, hot outside but the good kind, sippin on some cocktails then you are hungry, you do not like the menu in the bar full of junk food. Then you notice they have cucumber salad, you accept, you try the cucumber it smells wonderful, you go to enjoy your cucumber salad, anyways you go in the beach, you smell the ocean breeze, its so refreshing then you go to the forest and smell some jasmines, sandalwood and cardamom around you. Jokes aside, this is such a great fragrance, i have never tried a zara fragrance before and this stuff is magical, it's so nice just smelling the bottle cap everytime transports me to that island. This is a refreshing aquatic fragrance, yeah it has cucumber notes for me but the jasmine, cardamom and sandalwood are coming right away, definitely give it a try, in my opinion it's a safe buy but not for those that don't like cucumber scent haha. The price? Amazing just 30 euros!!! 10/10, it's an all rounder daily fragrance, all occasional fragrance for everywhere. Great alternative when it comes to searching for a daily frag. Overall: 8/10.

Cardamom sandalwood combo runs sharp and pretty offensive, if you're familiar with the santal 33 profile you can trick yourself into thinking this has the same effect because there are similar notes but this lands sharper and spicier and definitely has that cucumber/sour pickle thing going on. For an already polarising profile the average person will not think u smell good.

Crazy to get this for this cheap. Could last longer...

I was surprised there was no cucumber in the perfume pyramid. Because in the first hour that's all i get. Later it dries down to cardamom, but altogether it doesn't last long (on me). Regardless, a very good perfume for that price.

This is in regards to the 2025 release version, in the opening is very aquatic, a bit of a cucumber note. Then it slowly transits into a light white floral note, but very very light floral note. Only at the very very end you get this inviting slightly warm woody scent. Overall a great frequence but it really doesn't last. I live in malaysia, so very hot and humid country. For those considering between this and elixir, this is more refreshing and light, The elixir is more warm and spicy. Elixir still smells like energetically new york, but not fresh, its a more warm scent

Definately a masculine leaning fragrance.Although a top note, when it dries down, the cardamom is prominent. You need to be a cardamom lover to enjoy this, i am not. I will pass this on to someone who will appreciate it more. Overall it is nicely blended, but i came to realise that Jo Malone does like the masculine notes in her fragrances.

I gave a blind in this and I can't tell if this was a good choice... I need to test in on summer as well, adding some neroli and more limon on it. During winter experience, I like it but it's a very masculine fragance. Not my kind of scent but I like to have it on my collection. I am studying layering possibilities and I am finding some alternatives. I am also using it to perfume my house lol 100% a unissex produt (more masculine than feminine, take that in consideration if you are a girly-gourmand-perfume-lover). 7/10

My friend (male) who lives in a rural area got this from his mom long ago apparently. He's not a fragrance person at all, and this is possibly the worst thing to get for a person that doesn't care about fragrance. What was she thinking? Sweaty cucumber, some sort of stale citrus (lemon?) upfront, perhaps a bit vinegar-ish. I would not wear this, and my buddy wouldn't either. Sorry, I just find this offensive.

It's a clean white floral sandal scent with a hint of spice. Leans masculine but I am a woman and wear it. Good for all seasons, elegant and beautiful.

just works beautifully with my skin chemistry. my first ever "signature scent", firstly due to its elegant sandalwood dry-down, secondly because of its curated choice of only three (very harmonious, simultaneously fresh and spicy) notes, and thirdly because it's the only perfume i can afford to regularly repurchase. i have received countless compliments for this scent, but there's one i will never forget. on christmas day last year, with no family to go to, i was wearing it while sitting with a close friend on a beach in viareggio, a tuscan town by the tyrrhenian sea. a mild ten degrees celsius (strange for me, who has grown up in a colder climate), clear skies, the sea turning translucent under the weight of the setting sun, we were drinking cheap wine and eating pistachio ice cream when a middle-aged woman passed us with her dog. she had already walked by us by a good bit when she turned around, came up to us, and said, "one of you smells wonderful." we let her smell our wrists. pointing at me, she said, "it's you!" i pulled up a screenshot of this perfume, which she - endearingly - took a picture of with her phone. she wished us a merry christmas when she left. it was a very tender moment on a rather melancholic day.

this perfume got me many compliments, people would usually say i smell very "refreshing" when i enter the room. i think it's lovely for the price; i have never smelt santal 33 so i can't comment on how they compare. to me it smells very fresh and woody, just spicy freshness and sandalwood. simple, yet very nice - it reminds me of a sophisticated young woman, very professionally dressed and rocking heels on her way to grab coffee in the middle of her work day, probably working some corporate job in a glass skyscraper in nyc. i don't think this is my scent (too woody and unisex), but i do think it's nice. :)
