Super heavy on the lilac, I can barely smell the other notes. I thought I'd fall in love with this one, but after multiple wears it still doesn't feel special. It's a pleasant floral fragrance, but nothing more.

I tried this one and was pretty surprised at its wearability, coming from someone who doesn't really like florals. It wasn't too sweet, it was refreshing and it was light and summery. I won't be buying my own bottle due to personal preference, but I should also mention it's damn near bulletproof! I was in and out of a lake all day and could still smell it on my wrist at the end! 4/5

I'm shocked at how awfully this blended into my skin >_<; I hope to pass along my sample to someone else...

Opening smells like if gasoline was flower scented. And then I get a tortilla smell that I sometimes get with white florals. Then pear and cherry. All that being said I find it addictive. Similar to the way gasoline smells good in a way you know you shouldn't like 😂

One of the most beautiful fragrance in my collection. I got a sample size and was hooked . Had to upgrade to the full bottle. Its definitely not blind buy safe and a more mature scent. But shes beautiful. The peony, mimosa , tulip and honey is what pulls most on my skin. A few sprays is all you need as longetivuty and projection is solid

Pleasant and springy/summery fragrance balanced out by deeper base notes. Starts off very sweet, but then mellows out.

I’m not the biggest floral perfume fan. If there are florals in my perfumes, I need it to be sugary or jammy. In hummingbird, the flowers are Dewey, feminine, pollen-like, and, for some reason, wildly addictive.

Zoologist Hummingbird is one of the more approachable fragrances in the brand's collection, offering a beautifully blended fruit-floral composition that's immediately inviting. It is both distinct and oddly familiar. The opening is difficult to break down into individual notes because everything feels so seamlessly woven together. Rather than focusing on specific fruits or flowers, it simply smells... lovely. It is bright, sweet, and elegant. The scent brings to mind a lush garden filled with flowers and fruit-laden trees. It captures a sense of abundance and vibrant colour without becoming overwhelming. As it develops, the fragrance softens into a more powdery interpretation of the opening, retaining its floral and fruity sweetness while becoming smoother and more delicate. I feel Hummingbird captures the essence of its namesake exceptionally. It's light, colourful, sweet and has an airy quality that feels graceful rather than heavy. Performance is another standout feature. Just a couple of sprays easily last the entire day on my skin. If you're curious about Zoologist but find some of the house's more experimental offerings intimidating, I think that Hummingbird is an excellent place to start.

Hummingbird's opening is one of the prettiest things I've ever smelled. It's a mix of sweet fruit, flowers, and nectar. It was hard for me to pick out all the notes individually but I was able to get cherry and honeysuckle and together everything smelled intoxicating in the best way. Despite the sweetness, it never felt too heavy or overwhelming. For the first hour I felt like I was in a garden in full bloom. It felt dreamy and nice. During the drydown things seem to change and become a lot cleaner. The nectar and fruit disappear and I noticed a scent that smelled like laundry. The scent isn't bad, but I much prefer the florals and brightness of the opening and wish that was carried all the way through to the dry down. That said, this is a complex perfume with so many layers and scents to discover. After you spray it on it's like a journey from fruit to flower and then to somewhere safe and clean. I like this one a lot and am trying to figure out whether or not to get a travel spray next!

For me, the best by far of all the zoologist I tried, female elegance in a bottle

I initially bought a sample of this and have since purchased a full bottle! I’m very impressed by the diversity of floral notes in the perfume once you initially apply it; I find that some perfumes touting a long list of florals can turn into a one-note, generic ‘flower’ smell. I don’t get much of the apple or pear, but as it dries down I can definitely smell the honeysuckle and honey. Surprisingly, I find it pretty pleasant. Maybe it’s just me, but sometimes scents with honey smell soapy and a little artificial, like the decorative soap bars that your mom or grandma would scold you for touching. I think this smells pretty fresh, though, and maybe that’s because I’m smelling the honeysuckle more than the honey. I’m not going to lie, though, when sprayed on paper the base notes smell like straight sunscreen. When applied to my skin, though, it just smells lightly sweet and pleasant. My guess is that the combination of whipped cream and musk evokes sunscreen when sprayed onto paper. The musk smells much more natural and it's a lot less noticeable when I wear it on my skin. Like the other Zoologist perfumes I’ve sampled, this is long-lasting without being too strong or overpowering. I’d love to compare this to their other florals sometime, but I wasn’t able to snag a sample of Bee or Nightingale or anything.

Okay so, I didn't hate this, nor did I really like it, however my partner has a LOT to say about it. At the bare minimum, he says he is now upset with me for introducing this smell into his world, and that he has to be aware at the exists. Beyond that, he feels this smell could start wars; it smells like licking the behind of a Hummingbird. He is insulted, offended, and he can't explain it, but its one of the worst things he'd ever smelt. There are many more profanities following. Personally, it wasn't my favourite, but wasn't war inducing either!

was very excited to try this scent and ended up a tad disappointed. its by no means an awful fragrance, but on me was overpoweringly floral and powdery with no sweetness or fruitiness. i was expecting something a little more? i suppose? the opening spritz is very fresh and floral, its really a lovely opening like a blooming garden of violet, lilac, and jasmine - but QUICKLY settles into an odd urinal cake scent just before the drydown. if you can get past the bathroom smell it dries back into a softer floral smell, akin to sunscreen and laundry detergent. overall i give it a 6.5/10, still too powdery for me but i really appreciate how nostalgic it feels. like throwing your beach towels into the laundry machine after a fun daytrip to the beach with your family when you were 9

Walking in the middle of the most beautiful sweet floral garden. This just makes me so happy. The honey is the perfect balance to the lilac.

this was the Zoologist sample i was most excited to try and it did not disappoint! i immediately smelled honeysuckle, cherry, violet (also pear for some reason), a fragrant field of fresh fruit and flowers. it’s sweet and almost juicy while still being very fresh. i can smell the amber and musk as it dries, too, which has a nice warmth to it it’s incredibly strong with good silage so i was a little overpowered by a single spray, it’s long-lasting too!

I honestly just snell a weaker version of Nightingale. Its nice, its pretty, it has good longevity but its a skin scent on me even if I spray a lot. Kind of want to get another sample to see if mine was just defective since people on here voted differently on sillage.

this is exactly how i would picture a hummingbird if it were a perfume, wow! at first, it's several crisp fruity notes all blending together. but the base notes are more resinous, almost incense-y? the musk and moss completely ground this fragrance into something more earthy, nearly spiced. this isn't as sweet on my skin as i anticipated it would be, but this is incredibly unique and fun to smell! slowly but surely will work my way through zoologist fragrances :)

This was oddly very familiar. It's beautiful too. Then it dawned on me. It's so, so much like Kenzo Amour Indian Holi. Oof!

Анонім★★★★★

the kind of perfume that is so perfectly blended that you can barely pick apart the notes. its so bright and colourful and develops a crisp mintiness that makes it smell like a cool breeze in a flower garden. i am the hummingbird in this situation because i want to drink it

My favorite of the Zoologist scents I got decanted (Olm, Hummingbird, Rabbit, Dragonfly). It’s paradoxically powerful yet subtle. Polished but loud. It’s a yellow floral symphony with sweet fruits threaded throughout, garnering the effect of a frenetic hummingbird dashing from one delicious nectar to another. I guess you could say it’s honoring its namesake — a hummingbird too is graceful but hyperactive. I adore this and find it suits my personality incredibly well.

I'm on the fence with this one. It's quite a confusing mix of scents and I can't pull each one out. I do however like this fragrance. Not sure it's a lovely yet and will try it over the next few days. I do detect the plastic note some have mentioned. I get a muted plastic play dough note in the dry down..but it's done nicely.

Анонім★★★★★

ultra sweet plastic floral honey. playing with scented dolls outside in the summer. this scent has a high, tight vibrational frequency just like the oscillations of a hummingbirds wings. a bright drilling. the fruit here is not medicinal but fresh, as are the fragrant lofty florals. it kind of has you by the neck.

Анонім★★★★★

This is a really lovely floral for spring and summer. It’s just slightly too powdery on my skin for my preference, but it’s such a pleasant scent.

Анонім★★★★★

As a big lover of florals, fruities, and fruity-florals, I had high hopes for this fragrance. I did love my first whiff, which was like a beautiful face full of nectar reminiscent of walking by a fence covered in jasmine in full bloom on a late spring evening. But it quickly turned powdery and soapy, and I like my florals fresh. It’s not unpleasant, but hardly makes me feel like a hummingbird face-first a floral menagerie. The lilac note is definitely strong.

Анонім★★★★★

This is a very pretty floral and fruity smell, but it’s actually not super sweet. I think some of the base notes really tone down the rest of it, because it’s actually a pretty warm and comforting smell instead of being just straight up fruity. It smells very powdery to me, kind of vintage. I really don’t like perfumes that are too sweet but surprisingly I find this is fine.

Анонім★★★★★

it bursts in with floral fruity sunshine, then starts to settle into something a little soapy, still with a warmth behind it. Like having a bubble bath in a butterfly meadow. I like the journey, but eventually it just dried down to powder, so I wouldn't wear it all day.

Анонім★★★★★

A very wearable sweet fruity floral. I pretty much think I’m a hummingbird anyway.

Анонім★★★★★

smells so much like a fruity soap.. the musk is strong n nice

A friend of mine sent a decant. I fell in love and ordered a full bottle. She has the old bottle design and I have the new. I maintain that my juice is different. Mine smells like mothballs on my skin. I'm disappointed and I'm decluttering this one.

Got a sample in October with an order and liked it but I’m not a huge sweet/floral person. Wearing it now in April? WOW. I may need a bottle. Absolutely beautiful. And not hyper-feminine either. Reminds me of going to a theme park in the early 2000s and smelling all the sunscreens and moms wearing sweet pea body mist.
