Found in a drug store bargain bin for a steal. Nice fresh summer fragrance. Performance is average for me. Easy grab. 7/10.
Fragrance is subjective why you need to fight about personal preference?
@yaelin212 Take your meds ya sensitive tart lol
lol some noob trying to tell me something. Bro you got into this game 2 months ago u dont know what you're talking about
@banana1 I think your nose is the rotten one. You should probably see an ENT specialist. Judging by all the negative comments you've left on other fragrances, it seems like the issue isn't the perfumes... It's you.
You get what you pay for. Smells like rotten fruit.
I have had this fow well over a year and never worn it till now. It's ok fresh clean.
My absolute favorite freshie. Strong, chilled melon opening thanks to the gin tonic notes. Mellows down into a lovely little woody, musky thing going on. It does have that synthetic cheapie smell, but I think the frag itself smells nice enough that it's easy to ignore.
This one’s actually nice, tropical smell, good cheapie overall. But overspray this shit and you basically become a walking melon vape cloud. I did like 8 sprays once and had girls looking at me like I committed a chemical attack. Smells good though — just respect the atomizer and you’ll be fine.
Sweet, fresh, and youthful. My only bottle that lasted me less than a year, jointly due to wearing it on most days, and having to overspray due to its lacklustre longevity. A safe buy for most guys in their early adulthood but I wouldn’t repurchase this.
A really clean fresh fragrance with a nice melon note. Doesn't project or perform really great, but that doesn't matter as its really pleasing to wear. The price point make it a really affordable freshie. 7.5/10.
The primal instinct of fashion perfumes, A&F delights us with one of its best perfumes, and perhaps its best line overall, surpassing Authentic and Away, while going head-to-head with Fierce. Here we see a more experimental A&F than ever, with a tropical melon within a sea of tonic water and gin, a tropical yet ozonic, refreshing, aquatic scent. Then, Sichuan pepper with its citrusy and fresh nature combines with the bright musk in the background, attempting to transcend the typical fresh fragrance scent and transform it into an energizing and jovial summer drink. Without pretense and without notes, First smells like a cocktail, a gin and tonic with whole chunks of melon. While sipping something so refreshing, you can smell a beach bar, carpeted with the scent of clean skin, of people returning from surfing—a youthful, different, electric, and tropical scent. This demonstrates that clothing store perfume lines have a lot to offer. Here we see a composition that isn't inspired by anything in particular, but rather possesses a very fresh and vibrant attitude. This leads me to believe that this line is the spiritual successor to Fierce. If Fierce was the scent of young people in the '90s and 2000s, First aims to be the scent of young people in 2020. It lasts for 6 hours, with strong projection for at least 2 hours. After the third hour, it becomes somewhat subtle, and its evolution is rather slow. When the fruity notes fade, the luminous musk takes over. It's a distinctly casual, youthful scent, perfect for warm weather, with a remarkable performance in the summer. The heat gives the perfume more depth, and I think it can appeal to any type of man, regardless of age. 4/4, there's not much to say. This perfume, despite being in the "lower leagues," has nothing to envy in the workhorses of designer brands for warm weather. It could easily compete for an award against heavyweights like Versace's Pour Homme, for an affordable price and with a scent that's not so common these days (a melon gin and tonic). Its longevity is in line with what you'd expect from a fresh fragrance, its quality is outstanding for the price, and its concept is unique overall, far surpassing its siblings Extreme, Blue, and Together. For me, it's an essential in any collection—affordable, charming, and remarkable. Its only flaw is not being from a more prestigious brand.
Very solid cheapie.. Mass appealing and easy to wear.. Doesn't project or last very long.. but a worthy pickup at its price.. overall score 8.5/10
Pros Bottle design: The lid is heavy and has good weight which is quite satisfying. The bottle's eloquent and wave-like design along with the shiny metallic Abercrombie & Fitch panel make this feel like a premium product (which is excellent for the price range). Atomizer/spray: Powerful with wide spread. Scent: Very tropical and ozonic with hints of watermelon, while keeping a fresh and masculine tone. It smells serious and definitive with a small hint of alcohol while also expressing signs of playfulness and exuberance with aquatic and fruity notes. Some may say this fragrance smells juvenile but I prefer to describe it as responsibly mischievous. Longevity: It has average longevity, lasting for a solid 4-5 hours before the scent begins to fade. Sprays: For good sillage and maximum longevity without smelling overpowering, I prefer to use at least 4 sprays for this fragrance. Cons The fruity scent can be quite overpowering or intoxicating for some, and the initial opening may be quite strong. Overall Rating: 9/10
Really like it. Think of fresh strong fruit punch with a little bit more melon. It is sweet and fresh, perfect for daily sunny days, fresh out of the shower and beach days, and also goes well in relaxed outgoing summer nights. On skin lasts very well, but you can get almost all day on clothes. Had many complements. One really great fresh fragrance!
I've started wear this perfume in 2018 just after fierce. Still my favorite perfume ever.. maybe cause I've used in Brazil when I met the girl that become my wife, but the taste also match perfectly with the summer and the love. It's a magic breeze.
Fragrance Journal Entry #194 This is one of the best cheapies i've ever purchased, and fragrances this good at this price point are hard to come by unless it's a clone so that makes this a bit of a gem. The melon gin & tonic vibe is perfect for summer days, not too thick or chemically harsh for the heat either. Longevity is fair but not the worst from A&F, i actually prefer this over their other offerings. Overall this is an easy scent that everyone will enjoy. Rating: 8.2/10 Blind Buy Safe? YES
Starting off with the bottle itself, it has a solid build quality, a decent sprayer and the design of the bottle is unique. The fragrance itself is a very safe blind buy (I did it myself) but you have to keep in mind that you have to spray it 3+ times for it to last. It's pretty good for it's price, and I think that's it's a nice summer male fragrance. It's not too sweet, the top notes could last a little longer though. I think that the middle notes are nice, but you can juuust slightly smell the violet leaf, the citrus is nice. Overall it's a solid 8/10 fragrance, safe blind buy, non polarizing etc. UPDATE: the sprayer is actually very nice, it's pressurized, I think but it feels good.
Such a fresh vibrant citrusy fragrance, not really my style but smells nice to be frank. If you're into these types of fresh perfumes, then I'd definitely recommend this to you, it also works very well during summer time. So yeah a very nice fresh aquatic type fragrance not bad at all!
Beast value for the type of juice it smells clean but fruity and fresh and the more it sits the soapier and cleaner it gets. Classy fresh and I really enjoy wearing it. Don’t expect crazy performances from it, it doesn’t last forever more like an average 5+ hours on me maybe a bit more.
Got it as a gift, and loved it. Looked it up and WOW, VERY UNDERRATED. Will buy one in the future when this runs out
Abercrombie & Fitch First Instinct (Original) Review Let me start by saying — I’ve been searching for this fragrance for a long time. I actually spotted a gift set at Marshalls once for around $70, but I passed on it, figuring that since it was so pricey and hard to find, I’d come across it again later. Of course, I didn’t — until today. When I walked into Marshalls this time and saw a 30ml bottle for $14.99, I didn’t hesitate. I even checked Jomashop while I was there, and it was the same price, so I knew it was a solid deal. If they’d had a 100ml, I would’ve grabbed it instantly. You really don’t see the original First Instinct in stores anymore — the flankers, sure, but not this one. I already own every other version in the line — First Instinct Blue, Extreme, and Together (which is my all-time favorite). So finding the original felt like completing the set. On first spray, it reminded me of a lighter version of First Instinct Extreme, which makes perfect sense. I loved Extreme, but it was a little too powerful for daily wear. This one hits that perfect middle ground — fresh, sweet, and warm without being overpowering. While the flankers like Blue and Together lean toward more mainstream styles (think Invictus Aqua or Sauvage vibes), the original First Instinct really stands out. It’s not like anything else I’ve smelled. There’s a smooth mix of suede and Szechuan pepper that gives it an interesting twist — less fruity, more softly spicy and slightly warm, yet still fresh. Performance-wise, it’s on the lighter side. It doesn’t last very long, but for the price and uniqueness, I can’t complain. All in all, it’s a solid, well-balanced fragrance — fresh, subtly sweet, and comfortably warm. If you ever spot a bottle out in the wild, grab it, because chances are you won’t see it again anytime soon. Rating: 7/10 Batch: 06/2025 — looks like they’re still producing it, just in smaller quantities.
Hadnt smelt it for some time now, had a sliver left in my bottle, it was a gift from my sister, back in 2018. To my nose it smells insanely similar to le Beau / Paradise Garden. But a bit less cloying and sweet, which is nice! for the price its very good IMO - fresh, tropical, crowdpleaser!
Bought a small bottle at Ross for like $15. Smells like hawas OG but with better ingredients, and surprisingly better silage compared to the new batches of Hawas OG. Has that strong bubblegum smell so if you don't like it it's not for you.
i created account to write this review. so~ h-hello everyone i guess! i spent around 1k on blind buying perfumes in the past month. insert*chuckles* im in danger meme i kinda also blame yall. all this poetry on here. some of you are true artists of words. much respect, much bow. anyhoo, just wanna chip in my two cents. we all should strive to wear whatever smells good to us. alot of peeps say this is only for young people. atp just stop. stop! STOP!!!!!!!!!! *weird seagull noises* MY SPIRIT SMELLS LIKE THIS!!!!!!! and my spirit wants to wear this. im going to wear this today, tomorrow, when im 69 and on my death bed and! nobody! can stop meeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!! we really need to stop putting so many labels on things. so many limitations. why some of you so basic. ugh. rude. and if u wanna fight me, lets meet on the street. ill be wearing this perfume. and i will win. we... aslo, might kiss... HUH?? blind buy. perfect fresh, perfect sweet, perfect intimate. instant love. 69/10
30ml — sweet, fresh, aquatic out the bottle, after a while more vanilla and pepper-like. This being an EDT – one of the less expensive ones, at that – its sillage is intimate while the longevity rather moderate on me, at least in up to ~23°C weather. Sprayed onto my wrist, less than a few inches away. Pleasant when sprayed onto my neck, getting whiffs of it. I think it's the pepper and the suede. Impressed by A&F's "Authentic Self Man", viewing its main accords on here, I saw "ozonic" included. Believing that that's what pulled me in, I got interested in it. One thing led to another, I ordered this one on account of that accord and the fact that it's by the same brand + relatively cheap.
Finally got this one, new 50ml bottle batch code has it from 2016. So not sure if aging of this spray makes it worse/better. To me compared to the other 3 it smells like first instinct extreme without all the extra notes. The pepper and slight pickly smell (maybe this is the citrus blended with the melon) Off the atomizer smells like liquor/alcohol/citrus..almost like some alcoholic beverage. Wet spray before dry down smells liquor like, some flower blended with melon, then the pepper. Very very slight note of powder, guess this is the suede/amber combo. The musk and other notes seemingly kick in and blend once it dries down for 5-10 minutes. Not sure how I feel about this one despite reviewers like TLTG saying its a mid tier banger. Smells sort of uni-sex in the beginning but than more masculine after the dry down. I will update more later.
One of those wonderful warm weather budget fragrances. This stuff is genuinely good, silky smooth sexy. Give it a shot it’s very affordable, very mass appealing.
Very good stuff 10/10
Nose Note #192 Reminds me of Lacoste L. 12. 12 Noir, but without the unrealistic chocolate note, therefore much less annoying. This one is just enjoyable and very easy to wear. The Chic for Men and El Cielo comparisons are spot on. Not identical, but you will know what to expect It's melon-fruity with, I guess, tonic water. All the other notes are indistinguishable they just make a cushion for the melon, but not the melon from Blue Seduction and Man Eau Fraiche. It's different Deserves more attention and the 4+ score it has
