I smelled this fragrance from ahmed al maghribi store in jeddah, scent wise is so good but I didn’t get the performance everyone claims they get

Pleasantly surprised by this one. I've really gotta hand it to it. The last time I ordered a cheapie that I knew was going to be maybe almost headache inducing, it indeed was, and I ended up getting rid of the bottle because, ewww. I won't name the frag, but it was gross. This however, changed my mind toward that, while still slightly headache inducing, that lovely glimmer back in time to the good ole A&F Fierce in high school vibe is worth the slight headache that comes with this. Though truly, I didn't get a headache, I say it becuase, like I remember Fierce being, this stuff is synthetic, it definitely smells like chemicals, but thats what Fierce, MB Legend EDP, and Percival (to a much, much lesser degree), all smell like, is chemicals, but in the cleanest, and most like almost sophisticated and kind of way, good in the office, good outside on a summer day, good going out to dinner, good hanging out doing whatever really. It's one of those. Lots of folks wouldn't like this one, because frankly, it is definitely the most chemically of the DNA, but it's not overwhelming, atleast to me, and I can tolerate these obnoxious frags pretty well. Others will not. Spraying it on, IMMEDIATELY, I am taken to the mall back in the day. Lol. Lots of lavender. A boatload of it, also I do detect the watermelon ever so slightly, which is a welcome change to this DNA, musky, slightly floral, woody, It just smells like the Fierce/Percival/MB Legend DNA. Truly. It sits right there, it sits the furthest away obviously from Percival, but honestly (and I've only smelled Percival one time on a tester strip so my opinion on it is slightly invalid), these all kind of smell so similar to eachother. Each having subtle little differences. It smells the most like how I remember Fierce smelling back around 2008 or so. Enough hyping it. Longevity is shockingly good, I may end up using this over MB Legend EDP just for the sake of it being exceptional off the rip in terms of longevity and projection, I got 11 hours of solid projection from this on this first wearing, it didn't seem monsterous, maybe at first it was a little bit heavy, but after an hour or two, I just kept getting beautiful little wafts coming up to me at work all night. Got a couple of compliments with it too! :D All in all, is it generic? Yes. Is it linear? Yes. Does it smell like MB Legend/A&F Fierce? Yes. Does it smell like Percival? Somewhat, I'd say, like most PDM, they do this DNA the most "refined" and "natural". (again, this is according to my memory of it). Will it scratch the itch for this DNA? Yes. Would I recomend it? Yes. Blind buy? Yes. Especially for 35 bucks like I got it for, which is a steal for a pretty solid performer that smells like the OG Mall/High School Douchebags of old. :)

Ok this stuff is really great, its a linear fresh soapy fragrance that resembles maybe 75% of Percival but has crazy longevity and projection. This stuff performs really well but if you layer this Montblanc legend EDP together you genuinely get something that resembles upwards of 90% of Percival and lasts longer for less than $70. The price is really really good as well, no brainer if you like fresh scents and theres not many cheap fresh scents that can actually last. If someone could take this and add a slightly more sophisticated dry down similar to Percival and just increase the price a tad this would be perfect. 8/10 for me

Анонім★★★★★

This is a great dupe of fierce. If you like that you’ll love this. Considering the price this is a safe blind buy like I just did yesterday and would definitely recommend this as a daily fragrance.

Анонім★★★★★

Blind buyers, please note: despite one of the comments below, lavender unmistakably provides about 75% of this scent's bandwidth. It's a gentle, fresh and easy-going sort of lavender, but lavender nonetheless. If you don't like it, then this scent ain't for you.

Анонім★★★★★

The fragrance begins quite harshly and screechy with the ozonic/aquatic notes. Dries into a more mellow soapy/white floral musk. End result is a powdery/laundry fragrance

Анонім★★★★★

can't understand how this is compared to Percival. Kaaf is fruity/fresh with the quite abrasive sandalwood/musky base. lavender is there, but it's kinda soft, mono-dimensional lavender which isn't very prominent. Percival is fresh, lavender/white florals/ambroxan with a nice twist from sweet oranges on top and fur balsam at the back end. if anything, the drydown in Kaaf smells closer to 212 than Percival.

When I want to wear this type of fragrance DNA -- 'Kaaf' is my first choice. So clean, fruity and musky yet unique enough to stand out in this bloated segment of blue-fresh men's fragrances. Lavender is the main note for me (although it comes across more like viola), but it's sweet and powdery, far from a barbershop-type floral profile. So fresh, so clean. It lasts a very long time on my skin also -- i can still smell it over eight hours later, which is very rare for a scent with this profile. It's just not a super loud or projecting scent after the first two hours or so -- but this scent profile is best done this way, in my opinion. Just a lingering, sweet and musky freshness.

Idc what anyone says abt this its a compliment magnet Everywhere I go i get compliments I’ve been using it for months my brother used it for a year or more this thing would get u compliments its a very good clean scent that i actually get abt 7hrs+ longevity

Анонім★★★★★

Ok, after more than a month...new batch does not last! Please post your opinion about the performance....this is pure oil and does NOT perform...gone very fast!!! What have changed???!

Анонім★★★★★

This is unbelievably bad for the first 10 minutes, I sniffed it up close and it made my stomach turn, and I've never had a similar reaction to a fragrance. I was smelling something that I should not be smelling, not something I did not like. After that nightmare, it turned to a low projection syrupy ultra sweet and intensely musky version of the Fierce DNA. Not really close to Percival, more of a "taking the ball out of a fierce-like deodorant and pouring it all over yourself, and the deodorant has probably expired" sittuation. The concentration really kills the freshness, you need high quality materials and blending for an extrait to actually smell fresh and airy. Kaaf has neither. Long lasting, but has a vulgar musk base that takes it far from tha DNA and also does not smell that good (or fresh). Fierce and Legend are so much better than this. Register me as an enthousiastic hater of Kaaf, thank you.

Анонім★★★★★

Synthetic and cheap, but I like it. Miles away from Percival, I have Percival, love it also. Kaaf has watermelon note.

Анонім★★★★★

Absolutely overhyped in my opinion. Did not like it, smells synthetic and cheap. Not a safe blind buy.

Анонім★★★★★

I don’t know how close this is to Percival but as a standalone scent it’s great. It’s a very light lavender shower gel-y scent. Unfortunately, it is pretty boring and the extrait version is VERY oily.

Анонім★★★★★

Contrary to the claims, its performance is pretty mediocre. There are two fragrances that were overhyped this year and ended up disappointing me: Aquatica and Kaaf.

Анонім★★★★★

This is a really solid scent. Lavender forward (but a light fragrant lavender) supported by white florals and musk, with a merest hint of citrus and sweetness. A clean, fresh, but interesting fragrance. Performance is good, if not actually beast mode, although I do get a little nose blind to it on occasion. My one criticism, and it's not even a criticism really, is that it reminds me of a certain scent. Not Percival. Not Fierce. None of those most often mentioned. Nope. The scent I'm thinking of is Ted Baker Skinware Limited Edition. A £10 cheapie. Apart from the sweetness of Kaaf, and a weird burnt rubber element in SLEd, they share exactly the same notes. Obviously the quality of the notes in Kaaf is much higher, but I'm struggling with the similarities. Ignore my odd little bias though. If you haven't experienced SLEd previously, you're going to love Kaaf. A light appealing freshy with decent performance at an affordable price. What's not to love?

Smells like Gillette's shaving cream. Edit: it does smell like watermelon tho

#154 of My Fragrance Journey - Ahmed Al Maghribi Kaaf: The freshie that actually sticks around long enough to matter Kaaf's got this quality where it feels like it's caught somewhere between morning light and open water - sounds a bit much written out like that, but that's genuinely the sensation. Opens with lavender, airy, none of that sharp fougère bites you sometimes get. Sicilian orange comes in alongside it, a thin trace of watermelon, and some soft red fruit underneath keeping it warm without tipping into heavy. From there it doesn't really deepen so much as spread out. Lotus and lily of the valley soften things further; jasmine adds a clean brightness without turning into a full floral statement. There's a sea note running through all of it too - not crashing-wave stuff, more like a breeze passing over water. Gives it this calm, clear feeling rather than emptiness, and underneath that you've got white musk, sandalwood, and ambroxan holding the whole light structure together. Where Kaaf really earns its keep is just staying power. Strong projection those first couple hours, then it settles into something clean and consistent that runs 8 to 10 hours - which honestly surprised me for something this light. A lot of fragrances this airy tap out way before that. I'll be honest, it's pretty linear once it settles. No real twists after the opening, no big reveal three hours in. Depends what you're after - some people want that reliability for daily wear, others are going to want more happening as it develops. Technically it performs well, decent sillage, leaves a clean trail behind you. If I'm being picky, it does sit close to that elevated shower-gel territory - crisp, fresh, easy to wear, and a purist might catch a whiff of deodorant in there somewhere. But the performance and the refinement lift it past your average freshie, I think. Works best as an everyday thing - warm days, office, casual weekends, anywhere you want fresh without it being loud about it. Not reinventing aquatics by any means, but it does the genre properly, and that lasting power alone puts it ahead of most in its category. Vibe: Morning light dissolving into open water. Soft horizons. Cool air carrying warmth that hasn't quite arrived yet. Performance: Strong out the gate, then settles into a clean, steady presence for 8 to 10 hours - impressive for something this light. Fit: Warm days, bright offices, slow weekends - anywhere you want fresh to feel expansive rather than shouted. Just bought it yesterday, the scent profile is heavenly dont get me wrong, but I’ve never had a fragrance that lasts an hour on skin and thats it. The manufacturing date for my bottle is 13/05/26. I have the blue juice, somebody said that the green juice has worse longevity. Does somebody else have this problem who recently bought it, it sounds unrealistic when a fragrance goes from an hour of longevity to like 8 hours+ with maceration. I’ll let it sit for a while I guess…

Анонім★★★★★

Very nice and clean summer fragrance. the dry down smells of white flowers and laundry like scent

Анонім★★★★★

I want ocean to smell like this. One of my favorite fresh fragrance.

Анонім★★★★★

This has been my best friend in days where I don't want to think, want familiarity, or in a hurry. An all rounder that has been reliable and I'm still not tired of it.

Анонім★★★★★

Had this a while (10ish months now). One thing to watch with this - I have two bottles (got sent a second shortly after the first (1 week) as the cap was broken on the first). One has blue juice, one has green juice. They are both extraits. Now most places say that there is no difference in the scent it’s just the colorant - but that is literally not the case. The blue one is fruity and jumps off the skin - the green one is aromatic and flat. Longevity of the green juice is poor (3-4 hrs at best), longevity of blue juice is great (7-9 hrs at best). There is batch inconsistency which for the price, fair enough, but be wary that that is a real issue with this. Annoying but you get what you pay for when it comes to quality control I guess…

Анонім★★★★★

I mean, it's not bad or suffocating, but I bought it because of the hype. The thing is, to me at least, it smells like a very expensive version of a Dove soap! Or some sort of shampoo...!

Анонім★★★★★

The opening smells like fierce and the dry down smells like Game of Spades Wildcard / Bond No 9 Lafayette Street. It's good.

Анонім★★★★★

FYI, "Ahmed Al Maghribi" means "Ahmed the Morrocan".

After having this for six months, I’ve developed a love–hate reaction to it. #hate The opening is harsh and synthetic. If I step into my car while the opening scent is still strong, it can get cloying. To avoid a headache, I need to apply it at least 15 minutes before getting into the car, or only after I’ve reached my destination. #love The dry down is where this perfume really shines. Soapy, lavender, and floral (in a masculine way). It’s not something outstanding, but it’s pleasant enough to please both my nose and those around me. As others have mentioned, this perfume reminds me of MB Legend. Longevity is 8hours++ Projection is good Sillage above moderate Best dump reach perfume, gym type, summer fragrance, for riding bike/motorbike or hot place like factory production line.

Sprayed this fragrance on me at around 9AM. Went to work and one of my coworkers said he was able to smell me when he was standing about 6-8 feet away. It was very pleasant he said. Took off my plate carrier at around 6:00pm and smelled it very distinctly on my plate carrier. Woke up the next day around 7AM and my girlfriend said she could still smell it on me. Awesome fragrance.

Анонім★★★★★

Lovely, especially for the warm weather and gym, a very easy, no thought option! Nice quality, great longevity and a decent sillage and projection. Because of the high oil content it's doesn't choke out the surrounding area but when you warm up due to the sunshine or because you are working out, Kaaf is very noticeable in and around your arms length bubble. It never really becomes a skin scent until the next day, crazy performance for the price. The actual scent is very pleasant. lavender, florals, musk and a dose of ambroxan to push through the oily elixir and give a nice lift. Actually quite a versatile scent. I could easily see a younger person wearing this out to a club and wouldn't shy away from wearing it myself when out for a bite to eat in the evening, I'm a (Just into) middle age man with my noisy days behind me.....mostly. 😆 I think this could even be worn to work for the right person, it'll certainly see you through the day and home. Although primarily a fragrance for warmer days I can't really see any reason why you couldn't wear it anytime except perhaps if there is snow and ice on the ground! Definitely unisex but the guys in my gym seem to like it very much. In fact, one of the other members liked it so much that he got out his phone and bought it there and then. It's a little similar to a few other offerings out there but at the end of the day this is absolutely solid for the price and out performs all the other offerings that Kaaf resembles I can think of! It's definitely improved over time too. So please allow for it to deepen, improve and smooth out even further after purchase, not that it needs it! I would definitely recommend this to someone with just a few fragrances, decent collection or anyone who just wants a reliable, strong performing and great all round scent.

Анонім★★★★★

When I first tried this, it was too harsh for my taste. Kaaf is definitely a fragrance that is meant to wait in a dark closet for a week or two before it can be truly great. The extrait de parfum version lasts for as long as you need it to, and I generally like to go for 6-8 sprays on a hot summer day since it has absolutely no sweetness and won't give anyone around you a headache. Now for the bad: Even after maceration, I still think it's too sharp for my liking, so if you're someone that wants nothing to do with even slightly sharp scents, I'd stay away from this and look for something more aromatic. Great value for money, definitely a good blind buy if you like sharp masculine citrus/laundry heavy scents.
