I remembered the good old days when I used to walk in the woods 🌳🍃🪲🍓😍 Reminds me a little bit to Un Jardin sur le Nil 🤔 Edit : a friend said it smells really good like a washing detergent 🤔🤔😂
Fern? Yes. A very green fragrance! And the green here is so sharp, so astringent, it feels like something you'd only find in a mystical forest. The whole forest is here: sour wild berries, dense, damp greenery, chamomile from sunlit clearings. It feels like something out of Gogol’s ukrainian tales: dark pines all around, and ferns in their shade glowing with an almost unreal green, as if the whole forest were veiled in green mist and pricked with scarlet berries. Perhaps this is what the fern flower would smell like. A very unusual, deep fragrance, truly a shame it was discontinued. I also understand those who mention laundry detergent: Bracken has a light powderiness, somewhat reminiscent of a similar nuance in Insolence
This was my all times favorite perfume, at first you felt it was too grassy but once it cools down the smell is strange with some nice unique notes. I got more than 20 bottles of it through out, it’s unfortunate that they don’t do it anymore and I’m still searching for something that smells the same
I’m gonna be sick….. I hated this scent when I sampled in 5 years ago. I smelt it again yesterday and had a completely different experience. It’s seriously unique and strong and transportive. Then one day later someone posts two listings super cheap and I miss out on both idk what I was doing all day. But the coincidence of me finally coming around to this scent for it to escape me the next day is making me feel crazy. What did I do to deserve thisssss. Well whoever bought them you have good taste. I love chamomile and green fern scents and I always felt like this scent should have blown me away day 1 but for some reason it felt too realistic. It wasn’t perfumey enough for me. Fast forward and today that’s exactly what I look for. And this delivers pure vibrant mystical woods. I see it in my mind a vision of misty forrest populated with those elven creatures from game of thrones.
It opens very strong with green ivy, florals, and something fruity. It’s definitely different — not necessarily bad, but I’m not sure I’d wear it. That said, it dries down beautifully into something soft and clean.
Truly one of the most gorgeous perfumes . Stunning 😍 I have over 300 in my collection and this is in my top 5
Bracken Woman by Amouage feels like stepping into a dark, rain-soaked forest, where mystery lingers in the air. Karine Vinchon-Spehner & Dorothée Piot crafted something wild—bracken, berries, and damp earth, with a fleeting whisper of narcissus. But the real magic? Smoky leather, patchouli, and vetiver, wrapping around me like a dragon’s hide, ancient and untamed. I wear this when I need to feel fearless. It’s not just perfume. It’s armor.
I can see why this was discontinued. It smells very synthetic, laundry detergent mixed with dirt and mildew. I was intrigued when I saw it in an article about the best green perfumes and I saw a well priced sample. This is a definite no for me. Scrubber and I rarely wash a perfume off. The packaging is super cute, though. I’ll give it that.
On card, it's like Figment Woman crossed with Synthetic Jungle. Very sharp and green, high-pitched and psychedelic, kind of like what nature probably smells like if you're a dog, or some sort of crazed triffid horror film greenery. I've yet to wear it, I'll probably love it when do. On skin, it's less crazy (but still crazy). It has that Amouage thing of seeming familiar really quickly while being unique. The florals have more sweetness and depth to balance the shriek of the opening, and the leather takes slightly more of a back seat than on card. It's like a love letter to classic green leather florals while also being very modern. I love it. Update: This has become a favourite. There's definitely something orange blossomy in there, similar to the orange blossom in Beach Hut Man. In fact the perfume wears a lot like Beach Hut Man in that it's a sort of radioactive green CGI version of nature. This to me smells like what I wanted from Synthetic Jungle, which smells incredible but is impossible for me to wear, whereas I can rock Bracken no questions asked.
Enchanted Forest by The Vagabond Prince vibe here. Also discontinued . Apparently and unfortunatlely not a mass pleaser sort of creations. Elegant fragrance that reminds me of washing detergent from the childhood . I wouldn't mind owning full bottle while it's still there to be found .
Bracken Woman is such a unique and captivating scent! The leather and fern notes are prominent, creating this earthy and slightly wild vibe. It's definitely not your typical floral perfume. While the berry top note adds a touch of sweetness, it's balanced by the herbal and woody accords. It lasts forever on my skin, which is always a plus.
This wasn't love at first sniff for me the way Epic Woman, Rose Incense, and Rose Opus X were -- but it's definitely love now. It smells like working outside in the garden on a damp day, hacking away at some stubborn blackberry brambles. The vibe is outdoorsy-feminine, rather than cutesy-feminine or luxurious. That said, it's elegant, not gritty, funky, or taboo. (I agree with the observation that this is more wearable and sweeter than Myths, but somehow just as bold/principled.) When I first tried it in late summer, I found some of the berry notes a bit too synthetic, but with the weather growing colder, they come over as darker and more grounded.
Such a beautiful and unique scent. I just don't find myself pulling for it, so I am going to list my bottle on Mercari if any of you Bracken lovers need a practically full bottle!
I need to say, almost like a scream, that it's such a shame Amouage discontinued this fragrance! This is unique masterpiece, nothing comes close to such emotion giving parfum, at least for me. It is not a fragrance for everyone and maybe that is why it was discontinued?... What a shame Amouage..
This is art. Pure art. I'm broken hearted it has been discontinued because there is nothing else like it on the market that would even remotely come close to it. The first time I smelled it I was transported back to my childhood, staying with my grandparents on my summer holidays from school. Their house was split level and had a hidden rose garden, access to which had steep granite steps to the lower level. These steps were camouflaged by leafy green ferns which smelled exactly like the opening notes of this wonderful fragrance as you descended through them. The sensation for me is palpable as much as the memory is enchanting. Once the perfume settles, it becomes floral sweet and arboraceous, like threading on a bed of chamomiles underneath an ancient oak tree. The leather note supports rather than dominates. It's utterly beautiful and I'm grateful I discovered it before its discontinuation. Performance is long lasting to eternal. One or two sprays will see you through at least 12 hours of wear. Suits the rainy days of Spring and Summer best, but gorgeous at any time of year. It is a head turner as it is so unusual, probably because it is such a departure from what is now a common BR540/Cloud fragrance profile that every other person seems to be wearing now. I feel like a bewitching forest witch when I wear it. Sweeter and more wearable than Myths Woman, but no less beguiling.
That's a "no" for me. First, to my nose it smells like a typical male fragrance from the 90's would. Second, it is very bitter. Or rather, it has both sweetness (from the berries) and medicinal herbal bitterness going on, but bitterness completely overpowers the sweetness. It sounds harsh to me. I could swear there is an oakmoss in there. It's just too green, too raw. I can detect narcissus which I usually like a lot, but even it manages to smell bitter.
So sad Amouage discontinued it. I love it so much, it's good green leather chypre.
This is the perfume of my dreams. I have a 5ml decant which is almost gone. If anyone knows a legitimate place where I can buy a full bottle, please let me know!
It’s been a long winter waiting for warmer weather. This one shines during summertime. AMOUAGE Bracken Karine Vinchon Spehner and Dorothée Piot 2016 I don’t know any other brand which manages to capture so many different kind of scenes from my childhood than Amouage - this time with wild berries, Fern and leather together with Chamomile, Narcissus and Lily. It’s like a walking in the forest full of ferns and carrying a basket full of freshly picked berries. It has been raining. I move the ferns in front of me with my other hand while walking, causing the drops to fly on my face. The sun comes out from behind the clouds, the forest opens up into a meadow as the scent of herbal yet not dry Chamomile wafts up to your nose. Fern means Fougère which is an entire category of fragrances. This is not Fougère scent though. Most ferns has very delicate yet distinctive scent. It’s like clean and bitter green aroma, very unique one and very beautiful imo. I do remember as well the scent which may mostly be noticeable when you rub very dry leaves in your hands and it smells just like fresh mown hay. This is not the latter one. Wild berries are not light, bright, sweet and girly ones, they are mellow, deep, very Amouage - not cloying nor synthetic. The whole blend is unforgettable, absolutely stunning and amazingly realistic with an aromatic feel. This unusual scent is unisex and it can perform very differently. On my skin the scent is like described. On my husband’s skin the leather is more noticeable with added woody twist from base. The green note is bold and it may be too much for some. Thank you for reading, I hope my review was helpful. I would appreciate a lot if you want to follow me on IG and/or YouTube (English subtitles): @ninamariahperfumes It gives me a lot of motivation to write more. 🤗
I had Amouage Bracken yesterday. I have more fragrances that last all day and in the evening I could go straight to the company with the scent on without top-ups. I think Bracken probably trumps all my scents in this one. I purposely did not wear any perfume today, I was at home all day because it is cold and raining. In the t-shirt I wore yesterday, I could still perceive the scent quite clearly today.
I smelled this blindly, without having ever read the notes. My first words were: leather and yellow florals. This does have green elements; the birch tar and vetiver give it an incense/smokey feel. It leans fairly masculine to my nose, which means if a female were to smell this as a fragrance for herself, it would be polarizing. My mother's first impression: "This smells like the fancy soap at the souk."
Fruity aromatic green! I’m not really into fruity scents (prefer aromatic green), but this is one of my favorites. If fruit needs woody/green help for you, try this.
A pleasant surprise - this is a very interesting scent, citrusy in the opening and then turns into this green, woodland moss scent mixed with patchouli.. not exactly a freshie, but aromatic for sure - it's like walking in the forest, and brings many memories because of that. I've sampled a few other Amouages, and either the longevity was not the best or they did not feel original enough to justify the price point, but here, I would say this is full bottle worthy. It's a scent profile I've never smelled before, it projects really well and lasts quite a long time.
Being a total newbie and also a person who spends a lot of time in the woods and loves ferns in particular, I was totally charmed by the descriptions and ordered a 2 ml sample of this. At first sniff I was shocked, and not exactly in a good way, as I expected something diametrically opposite from 'a forest smell'. I didn't feel this any green at all, more like 'reddish brown' scent, very spicy, harsh and suffocating, kind of retro (much close to what I felt after blind-bying my very first full bottle - Eden, also hypnotised by the description and reviews). My husband said I smelled like an Indian store. Didn't get anything fresh at all. So I put it aside and moved on, but something didn't let me forget about it. Next day I suddenly felt a bold glimpse of something very pleasant, fresh and unique, and it took some time to figure out that was still Bracken on me. I decided to try it once or twice in a week, at home, small doses, sometimes layered with other scents, and in a month I realized that I'm totally in love with it, wanting to smell it much more often than anything light or airy or inoffensive I used to prefer. Still can't call Bracken a green smell, but definitely not an 'Indian shop' either. To me, the closest term is 'bittersweet', and definitely more sweet than bitter. Most of the bitterness fades away after two hours, but somehow returns after 6-7. The good thing is I don't get leather note at all; not so good that I almost don't get berries. I wanted narcissus and it's definitely there, along with lily, chamomile and woodsy notes. Maybe I'd love it less sweet and spicy, more herbal and fresh as expected, but it's one of my favourites as it is, and I totally need a full bottle.
على عكس النسخة الرجالية التي لم تعجبني تأتي النسخة النسائية كعطر استثنائي رائع الجمال للجنسين بامتياز وسواء كنت من محبي العطور العشبية أم لا فستفتنك هذه الرائحة
Simply stunning and charming. Love the dry down the patchouli is done just right !! The berries keep it sweet while the fern accord keeps it green. I do believe they are using a tomato leaf absolute to create this fern accord and mixed with berries it’s heavenly won’t be for everyone… the chamomile is beautifully done as well
This is one of the scents that I like to take down off the shelf and sniff from time to time even if I'm not planning to wear it. It smells so mysterious, so wild, and to me it truly does give the feeling of tangled patch of ferns on the dark forest floor. It is unlike anything else I own, and very unique.
So far this one is my least favourite feminine (from this house) followed by Overture. I have slowly acquired a fairly large collection of them. Mainly the older line that is slowly slipping into discontinuation. I’m open minded about this scent as I’ve changed my mind many times in the past, finally either understood or experienced it differently and owned up to it. So it’s not impossible that this will gain more appreciation with time. Right now the piercing green opening smells odd. Almost like a certain type of Ajax disinfectant spray I used a lot 2020-2022. It’s super piercing and while I love green notes, this is a bit of a nose burner. The heart and dry down are gorgeous though - clean, almost soapy with a woody and musky backbone that is warm and inviting. My 3ml decant will remain and I’ll keep trying and see how I go with it. Bracken and Ciel are a few of the ones I don’t either own or have a big decant of as I love the crazy/complicated fragrances and the stories they tell. Will edit if things change for me.
Least favorite Amouage. Hodge Podge of notes, nothing clearly stands out. Smells like a forest of 100 different types of trees and woods.
Wow!! This is absolutely unlike anything I’ve smelt before and I absolutely love it. It’s clean, lovely. I feel this perfume is best worn on a day you’ll be outside as the smell of this in the breeze is absolutely stunning. At arms length a thick leather scent hits me, up close a cold in the nose almost mint like, could be the fern—? Updated review- I was lying to myself. I hate it
