i’m amazed at how potent this fragrance is, it’s not my favorite and does make my stomach turn, but i can understand why some people love it. it became enjoyable after 5 hours of wear on my skin lol. one spray almost took me out 😭😂

Анонім

The akigalawood aromachemical eclipses everything else in this fragrance for me, and becomes overwhelming.

I tried this first on a blotter and dismissed it: too weird... Eventually someone gifted me a decant and I gave it a go on my skin. Oh my, what a wonder! It brings the hot desert to a chilly northern town in deep winter. It smells of syupy cooked pears and dry spice from Dune. Masterpiece!

Анонім

How can Impadia and this be similar? It’s not at all on me.The hazelnut overwhelmed on me and creates this weird mix that smells like Crayola crayons on me. Scrubber for sure.

What the heck. I thought I hated this. I kept a sample around just so I could remind myself of how much I hate it. I sprayed today to test it and it is so sweet & creamy and complex and beautiful. I don't want to love it. I don't want to want another perfume....help

At first the scent is similar to a perfume from Avon after half an hour it smells like an opened jar of pickles left on the counter over night. My whole house smelled of pickle juice for hours. Same with 46

I used to hate on this perfume a ton... Sprayed this on my wrist today while shopping just for the sake of it and kept catching wafts of it in the air. I'm surprised to find out that I LOVE it now. Unfortunately I am too broke to afford this perfume at the moment, so I'll admire from afar, but this is so nice. I especially enjoy the dry down. WOW

Had high hopes for Guidance; but alas, I am disappointed. The hazelnut, sandalwood, and vanilla are very prominent notes. This fragrance profile is reminiscent of decadent coffee creamer and a luxurious whipped body lotion. Longevity is around 3 hours on skin; 8+ hours on hair/clothing.

For me, Guidance by Amouage is the most special fragrance I have ever encountered throughout my entire journey in the world of niche perfumery. I work at a niche perfume boutique in the country where I live. It’s a very small country, but we carry an exceptional selection of brands, including Clive Christian, one of the most prestigious names in perfumery. In other words, I have access to some of the finest fragrances in the industry. Even so, despite smelling countless perfumes and building what I consider to be a fairly solid collection, none of them has ever evoked the same emotional response that Guidance did the very first time I experienced it at Istanbul Airport on my way to South Korea. I still remember spraying it on in Istanbul. Throughout the flight to Korea, I kept smelling it on my arm, and it gave me an overwhelming sense of transcendence and spirituality unlike anything I had ever experienced through a fragrance. I eventually bought it in Seoul at an Amouage pop-up store. When I returned home to Andorra, however, I ended up selling it because, on my skin, it almost became repulsive to me. I imagine it was either the heat or, perhaps more likely, the fact that I was unconsciously trying to recreate the emotions I had felt while travelling. Those emotions naturally disappeared once I was back home. Maybe what I was really missing wasn’t just the fragrance itself, but the magic of being in a place as distant and unforgettable as South Korea. What happened next surprised even me. From the day I sold it until today, there hasn’t been a single day when I haven’t thought about this damn perfume. I even bought the body lotion just so I could experience its scent every night, and I kept ordering samples. I had never had a relationship with a fragrance like this before. Recently, I got back in touch with the person I had sold it to. She is a close friend whom I trust, and today I finally got it back because she didn’t really like it. Guidance has returned to my collection. During the time I was without it, I even bought Purpose 50 because it reminded me, in some ways, of what I love so deeply about Guidance. But one thing has become completely clear to me. I still love Guidance just as much as I did the very first day I smelled it.

No, no and no, I am sorry 💕

Lol, reading these reviews about Guidance just cracks me up! Am sure if a psychology PhD candidate needed examples of every DSM-5 entry to pad out their thesis, these Guidance reviews would give them all they needed, and then some! :D :D You all need to adjust how you wear and test modern perfumes, instead of bashing dreamy stuff after sticking your nostrils on your skin and inhaling for some long 5 minutes from a decant that totally collapses the genius structure of these perfumes. These are meant in their original composition to build around you, not to be smelled on your skin... You're just looking at the pile of Lego pieces, while the structure was left in the original bottle. Just saying...

I swear I thought I left a review about this one two years ago, but I guess not. I don’t see how time went that fast to begin with, but when I first got this, I hated it because it smelled like pickles and it reminded me of Marc Jacobs’ Decadence, just awful in my opinion. But I knew to let it sit for a longtime before making a judgement, but usually I will go back to it in 6-12 months later. But today I was going through my bottles and accidentally picked her up and smelled it, and I said damn guidance you smell so good!” and I said, “Wait, I hate Guidance. No way is this Guidance. It’s super creamy now and nutty and sweet. I swear I haven’t smelled a banger Amouage like this in years. This is on Sunshine Woman level. There’s something intoxicating in it omg it is so good. I knew my batch was way too new to be spraying. Always give it 6-12 months to mature, especially if you don’t like it. This fragrance did a whole 360. Maybe it needed the two years to sit lmao even my kids say it smells so good and sweet. My daughter, who is only 9, said it smells like that one you didn’t like but better. I said it is that one. She has such a good memory and she loves niche fragrances just like me, so her nose is trained really well.

Let us be completely fair: this is not a poorly crafted fragrance. Objectively, one might even call it beautiful. Yet, perfumes never exist in a vacuum; they exist on the flesh of those who wear them. And unfortunately, this particular juice has become the official uniform for a very specific, inescapable demographic.Every time this scent hits my nostrils, a vivid and tragic tableau unfurls before my eyes.I instantly picture a woman well past forty-five, her face caked in makeup like a poorly painted Russian nesting doll. She has just touched down from a holiday in Turkey, where she reigned supreme as the undisputed monarch of the counterfeit stalls in Belek. Her lips are overfilled to a comical, fish-like pout, complemented by dramatic fake eyelashes that look like they were stolen from a low-budget, regional theater production.Carrying an extra thirty kilos of sheer audacity, she drapes her frame in the largest, loudest, most aggressive faux logos imaginable—Gucci, Prada, and Moncler all screaming for attention at once. Her preferred chariot? An electric scooter. She zips through the city streets, leaving a radioactive, choking cloud of this otherwise "lovely" fragrance in her wake, colonizing the public air space. It is a beautiful scent utterly ruined by its own clientele. I simply cannot unsee it.

Guidance is definitely one of the most niche fragrances out there. I smelled it before I got into niche perfumes, and I almost threw up! It smelled like something had rotted a dead body or an old, dirty kitchen. But after months and months of exploring niche perfumes (especially Amouage), I finally understood Guidance. My nose started to appreciate its beauty, and now I genuinely think it's one of the most beautiful fragrances I've ever smelled. I absolutely adore it. It's a true work of art. If you've had a similar experience, make sure to come back to it once your nose becomes more experienced. 😂

Coming back for a second review because I just tested Guidance on my skin again after a year-ish. Perhaps my travel spray was macerated or whatever happened, but this did not turn sour and spoiled on me anymore. It is a sweet, buttery, whipped cream cloud of sandalwood heaven! But it's not simple as that; I can see a ghost of Salome in the background? I can now see what some people meant when they say it smells like in between a woman's legs, I couldn't detect it before. Obviously they carry different vibes and went in two completely different directions, but they share that same base of fluffy musk and the slight sweaty skin accord (in this case the pear + ambergris combo). It adds onto the charm and gives it more depth, complexity, personality. There's nothing unwearable about this, it's undeniably a masterpiece that deserves all the fame it gets. I much prefer this over Guidance 46 that rounds out its womanly musk and dial up the sweetness just to be more mass appealing. There's plenty of generic sandalwood scents on the market, leave my grown lady Guidance alone!

UPDATE: Y’ALL 💀 I have NEVER experienced sillage or longevity like this!! Literally what is happening. Smell is just as good as I remembered, but ONE spray on my wrist was so overpowering I had to drive with my car windows down and desperately scrub my wrists with soap once I got to my destination. I then tried removing it with olive oil (discovered this hack after some frantic googling), and eventually just took a shower…and the next day I STILL SMELL IT. Going forward, I will be unscrewing the top and dabbing the little spray straw on my ANKLE. It’s a gorgeous fragrance (with no traces of piss or puss, you weirdos) but god help anyone who unwittingly does multiple sprays. Story time: I was serving drinks at at a huge house party, easily 60 people, and suddenly was overwhelmed by one of the best scents I’ve ever smelled in my life. It was warm and comforting and resinous, but also with hints of white floral and vanilla. I asked the people nearest to me who smelled so good, and they all seemed confused and even gave me the stink eye. “Maybe it’s the trees?” someone said. How dare they. THIS WAS NO DAMN TREE. This began my mission. As I moved through the party, the scent would waft towards me occasionally. I felt like a cartoon character following the aroma of a pie to a nearby windowsill. I knew my chances of finding the source was low, and began to comfort myself that maybe it was a combination of many smells, so that I wouldn’t be haunted for the rest of my days by this white whale of a perfume. After all, the host had lit incense, and the dozens of people around me were likely wearing fragrance. But then the smell got stronger! I was playing “hot and cold”, and suddenly I was burning up. Then, I FOUND HER. Chic in a simple black dress. “Excuse me, is it you who smells SO GOOD?” “…Probably ☺️” she said bashfully. “Oh man, you just made her whole night.” Said the man with her. I begged for what she was wearing, and she told me: Amouage, by Guidance!!! I took my break right then and there so I could buy the travel size online on the spot! The strange thing about this is that even though the silage was truly enormous, and I could smell it in a room long after she had left it, walking up to her and smelling it at point blank range was somehow not overwhelming? It’s just so WARM. Like some sort of honey body lotion. But also I imagine unless you want to monopolize the smell of an entire room, this is one you’re gonna want to spray into the air and walk through. My bottle hasn’t arrived yet, and of course I’m anxious that it won’t smell as good as I remembered, or worse, will react badly with my skin chemistry, but who cares. I found the name of the perfume that made me spend a full evening playing smell detective, and I’ll be forever grateful that my night turned out this way.

People call this sexy, and that's how it registers with me no doubt, but I'll go one step further: This is disarming as if your brain's defense mechanisms have slowly melted away, and now you just feel naked and engulfed, in the safest and most enjoyable manner! Make of that what you will... 🫠🫠

i am reviewing again because After some time trying perfumes it gets so obvious why this is trending top. Modern perfumery is trapped in a generic loop. Most smell like variations of the same recipe. Consumers are simply bored of smelling this identical white floral DNA everywhere. Guidance shattered this mold. Instead of predictable European florals, it introduced a disruptive blend of hazelnut cream. While its heavy Middle Eastern profile can feel polarizing and overly "exotic" to classic Western tastes. It delivered exactly what bored consumers craved: monstrous performance and a completely non-generic identity.

smells like extremely bitter champagne with piss

Honestly am convinced the people that hate this just don’t like the smell of pussy. Yeah, it’s somewhat reminiscent of musky female private parts (although definitely clean). But it’s more than that. On a female (and even a male too) this fragrance is insanely insanely sexy. This shit is so fucking good. So so so so good. I’ve said this this before but if you hate this fragrance I don’t fuck with you :) 100000000000/10 masterpiece

Nuclear Cumin Fruit Floral. Typical current Amougae overdose of synthetic musks and nuclear woody ambers with rose and fruity notes and a daring cumin top note. Quite unisex. Guidance 46 is cleaner, rosier, and omits the cumin note. More classically feminine.

This is an aphrodisiac for me

Olibanum, pear, osmanthus hazelnut. The first time I smelt this I hated it so much! I tested it in the winter and got a lot of bitter and medicinal notes. Testing it in the summer, it's completely different! It reminds me of what it would smell like if you cut a pear in two and poured honey on top. Very honeyed, smooth smell, with a touch of very ripe pear that stands out a little due to the slight freshness. Why does this remind people of Purpose 50??? I literally have it on my other arm and they are nothing alike. That one is a woody, vetyver, green rose-kind of smell....

Анонім

For those who are thinking to buy it, do not look at the notes and accords given here as i love almost all the notes in this composition but might runaway from a person wearing this perfume. If you are a light, airy, musky, slightly fruity, non offensive, everyday wearing, casual, green notes lover, stay the heck away from this. Try ashore or portrayal woman from amouage before even thinking about getting a decant of guidance. Ashore is maybe a more in the middle scent. The loudness of this is one of the biggest problem even tho i like loudness as long as the smell is not painful. Nishane's hacivat X is a very tolerable loud smell. Almost as loud as guidance yet that is a very nice fresh punchy perfume. It might be cloying for some noses but not offensive. I DO NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEM with those who like it as our noses are different. I am writing a review again just so the RUDE obnoxious people know that just because you like to be inconsiderate of the people around you or want all the attention even by quite literally chocking people or act as if by choosing this, you have somehow entered into some kinda elite circle, baby you are who you don't think you are. An Obnoxious attention seeker. A person wearing kayali marshmallow atleast would not choke people in summer heat or a close gathering like you with that attitude would with this perfume. As a person who loves the house of amouage for it's perfumes like reflection woman, existence, portrayal woman, love mimosa, ashore, love tuberose, honour woman, dia woman etc, i do get people liking the darker, stickier perfumes from the same house. But the perfume is not as obnoxious as your attitude. Rather than wearing the personality of a perfume, how about you grow a better personality of your own

Анонім

I wanted to love this. Blind buy for me. In the summer heat, it is sharp and ammonia-like which dissipates in time. All of the lovely list of notes are misleading as it’s just a kind of mature indistinct blend of not that great. Glad I didn’t pay full price!!!

Анонім

Absolutely love at first sniff. Oh my the spices are blended so well. Nothing sharp, feels like I've been in invited in an lavish indian wedding banquet.

Анонім

I loved the two decants (from different vendors). The pear/fruity and hazelnut/nutty notes gave beautifully to soft floral and woodsy/frankincense middle with a beautiful fresh-sweet amber dry down. The spray, my bottle, despite letting it sit after initial spray is a flat sweet woody/frankincense start to finish. I'm so sad.

Анонім

Powdery, animalistic, resiny, and too heavy for my taste. It has an odor to it that reminds me of a more dated individual. I really wanted to like this one but 46 is more my taste personally.

Анонім

I do own a bottle of Guidance, I think it's very unusual and interesting, however I almost never choose it. First- it requires less than 1 spray, the best place for this spray would be- your ankle, so it's very far from the nose. My partner can not stand it at all, so it can be worn with a very special mood, open air. Composition itself- it's better to describe the texture, not notes. Which in the world pear or rose??? it's just thick cream, very fatty (nut oil), a bit salty, heavy sweet... Very unusual.

Анонім

YOU KNOW WHAT! a couple years ago I wrote a review hating on this due to the whole tiktok campaign saying it smelled like a naked woman. And it does not. The problem is, the hype made it seem like it would be something subversive and animalic, which pissed me off because that sort of thing is my jam. However, now that I've had time to sit with this, I've grown to love it for what it is. Which is a very elegant powdery rose. I honestly might buy another decant. If you're someone who finds this offensive idk maybe stick to your kayali marshmallow whatever cause this is not offensive at all
