Absolute Arabian Masterpiece, I can absolutely say it's my all time favourite fragrance, first time I smelled this I felt like I was rising, it's heavenly, the amber honey and blueberry combination is beautiful, the blueberry in the opening is very unique, very likeable warm and inviting profile, and the performance is also very good, lasts over 3 days on my clothes, and projection is strong, recommend it.

Genuinely my favorite fragrance ever. I blind bought this quite early in my fragrance journey and have loved it ever since. Such a beautiful smell and perfect performance. Genuinely I’ll spray this on my neck and smell it all day and spray it on clothes and notice a smell still there months early. I have no idea what they did here but it’s just heavenly in every way possible.

Kalemat is a perfume of balance. (mine is from 2020) Everything is exactly where it should be. It is warm, amber, pure, delicious, smooth and elegant. The amber is enveloping, sensual and addictive. Amber is clearly my favorite note, so I am very demanding when it comes to this note. There is a small fruity, boozy opening that disappears quite quickly. The work on the spices is particularly successful: seductive and perfectly dosed. They add depth and character without ever making the fragrance feel heavy. This is the kind of perfume you want to smell all the time. It melts into the skin and almost seems to become one with it. For me, it is the second best amber in the world. It absolutely deserves its title of “the best perfume in the world” ok, there are a few others, but honestly, it really deserves it! This kind of perfume is what makes perfumery so interesting. It has been copied many times, but so far, I have never found one that truly equals the original. Anyway, one of the most beautiful ambers in my collection. Fine berries, liquorice, deep Ambre, cashmere and powdery musk. But you cannot really smell those separately. It melts together in a beautiful oriental cloud. Completely unisex, with strong projection, as is often the case with Middle Eastern perfumes. So go easy on the sprays unless you want to overdose!

What a great amber, this recalls Davidoff’s great, discontinued “Amber Blend”. “Kalamat” is less sweet, more dry and more smooth. I guess “Kalamat” means “words” in Arabic, whereas the amber of Davidoff spoke, the amber of “Kalamat” whispers. I have no doubt in blind buying the black version.

Very strong fragrance and the initial notes of honey are very prominent. Settles down and can stay on clothes for over 3 days.

I totally agree with review by Cantstopsniffingmywrist . The starting not begins with sweet. That's Honey. To my surprise it doesn't have oud but it's there predominantly all the time. Good for oud lovers. It was gift , so don't complain. However it's not blind buy. Strong fragrance. There is nothing special.

I tried a sample of Kalemat on skin yesterday. I have left it to mature 10 weeks. 4 sprays each wrist Its honey with gentle ambery vanilla above all...... unisex sweet and slightly spicy, with a touch of floral at the heart note and a base of smooth amber with musk under the base...I don't get much if any rosemary or herbs. its got weak projection, and longevity around moderate. Not an all dayer and not strong. Average. Its dominated by the truly excellent honeycomb kind of honey note but doesn't have much else, except a sprinkle of herbs and florals to balance it. Then it just fades from view. its just got no colour, no depth to speak of, no tangible heart accords or deeper notes to bring out the best of that honey and fill it all out. It desperately needs some accords and ideas to accompany the predominant honey ....i found it to be just too bland and highly linear. Nothing grabbed me here, i got very little out of it. Its a general standard issue kind of scented candle scent. Pleasant enough, harmless, light and fluffy. Maybe this would work better as a summer fragrance, but for me, it barely did anything from start to finish. Its more like an incense stick or room freshener scent. a nice one, but too dull to be a fragrance worn as cologne. Nothing to hate...nothing to love.....she came, she went....leaving no broken hearts...to quote TE Lawrence..."rather had the character and aspect of sheep, solid in their neutrality, possessing neither vice nor virtue" 5/10

If you want to blind buy from Arabian Oud then this is the one to. The amber note is dominant and the projection of this one is a beast. It is if I recall right the first Jordi Fernandez fragrance for Arabian Oud and has been in the market for years. The came out with a new Kalemat that has stronger vanilla note but I still prefer this one. For the price you pay it is a must have..

We have purchased a significant number of perfumes from Arabian oud in the past, and they were once truly exceptional masterpieces. However, I regret to inform the recent price increase, combined with the noticeable decline in quality, is deeply disappointing. Consequently, we have made the difficult decision to shift to alternative brands.

I was told I smell like a gingerbread house. In a very positive fashion. Very warm and inviting scent with great longevity. I will say, the projection is strong for a few hours but it dims down after some time and lingers close. It lasts, the scent is strong for a while but isn’t nuclear, which a lot of people appreciate.

I saw the reviews on Fragrantica and as someone who loves spicy arabian perfumes (Khamrah Lattafa & Ana Abiyedh Rouge Lattafa) this one is way different. I bought a small 6mL sampler online and the scent is not what I expected. I'm not good at scent notes, but I will tell you this does not have the spicy hot scent I'm familiar with in my other Arab perfumes. This perfume is best described as something the friendly librarian would wear. My boyfriend likened the scent to a hotel lobby bathroom air freshener. It's a good scent and I could see myself running into a nice lady at church wearing it, but its not hot and sexy. Good perfume if thats what you're looking for (and you understand how to read scent notes, unlike me).

I am using the perfume oil version of this fragrance from Arabian Oud and I can well believe it was a creation of Jordi Fernandez. It really is wonderfully cosy with syrupy honey, without being too sweet, without being gourmand either. Signature Middle Eastern DNA yet wearable in almost all contexts except for summer heat.

Анонім★★★★★

FYI, this was made by Jordi Fernandez, according to him personally: https://youtu.be/-o9YJLXo6cw?si=PUkLMdpBJKLqsYXC The same guy who did Oud Maracuja, Oud Cadenza, Oud Stallion, Blue Talisman etc.

I blind bought both Kalemat and Kelmat black 3 years ago because of a great discount on Arabian Oud’s website. I preferred the original version so I sold the black one and kept the first. I felt in love with it. It is so warm, it feels like a sunbeam in winter. Definitely recommend it for fall and winter, otherwise it’s too much. The performance is just ridiculous: with only 2 sprays a day I could literally always smell it and it stays on clothes forever. I just finished the 100 ml bottle a few weeks ago, after 3 years as my daily (except in summer). My favourite fragrance, makes you feel warm, confident, almost a Persian prince. To discover new fragrances, I decided not to buy it again after 3 beautiful years, but that was a tough one. I’m sorry my dear Kalemat, but I promise I’ll never forget you.

SUCH A BEAUTIFUL ARABIAN FEEL FRAGRANCE. IT HAS ETERNAL LONGETIVITY AND PROJECTION TWO SPRAYS AND LASTED WHOLE DAY. I WOULD SAY GO WITH FEW SPRAYS INITIALLY AS IT IS LESS IS MORE KIND OF. OVERALL WORTH HAVING.

Bought this 2 years ago and I still love it. Circling back around to my early bottles and this one stood out tonite. It’s a lovely kind of loud for cooler nights. It’s like wearing a honeyed cinnamon bun and the sillage is amazing in a light breeze. If you can’t smell it, or think it’s weak, let it sit for a few months. And for goodness sake spray it at least 6-8 times. Mine’s continually getting better and better with age and it lasts for days on clothes. This is a keeper from AO.

OK so after reading reviews about this perfume, I thought to blind buy it. Received the item yesterday and applied it on my wrist. Within minutes, I couldn't smell it. I reapplied it and again within minutes the smell was gone. I then applied it on my jumper. It smelled great for a while and then just became like a body scent that you'd need to tuck your nose into your clothes to smell it. Quite disappointed considering the rave about it on here. The projection is abysmal. However, the smell is lovely. Heavy on Amber and bit of musk which I love. I couldn't smell any Oud though. Overall 9/10 for smell 4/10 for projection

it is the definition of walking through a luxurious spice and fragrance market. the intense amber, incense, and honey melt in your olfactory senses. such a loud fragrance, once spray will last you until the next day. absolutely perfect for rain and snow.

Анонім★★★★★

I wore it to the movies I got out of the hall for 15 minutes and when I went back the odor was all over the place I think you have to be dressed more casually Stays on clothes forever

Анонім★★★★★

It's very good in terms of price and performance, there's nothing not to like about it. It's too sweet for me, so I didn't like it. However, it doesn't smell like a classic middle eastern perfume. As it dries down, a synthetic feel comes to the fore, but I think it's at an acceptable level.

Warm and softly spicy. Amazing for cooler days.

I have never smelt this one but I tested the cheapy Oud Al Shams by Ard Al Zaafaran (£13, in a square bottle with brown perforated rubber and a copper coloured cap), I was mesmerised by the time I got home and ordered a bottle. I found out on the internet that it's meant to resemble this frag. Oud Al Shams is sweet honeyed with spices, very much like Raghba but to me it's much nicer/spicy. It reminded me of Oud saved the King (a guy I dated used to wear it) - I layered Oud Al Shams with a bit of rose (First Date Of Turkish Rose Avon) and this combo of sweet honeyed oud and rose is to die for! If you like this frag, you might want to try Oud Al Shams for daily errands. If someone ever buys the OG and OAS I would love to know the actual comparison.

A spicy, sweet and musky amber A sexy, Powerful, Mysterious and Intoxicating scent The notes here are misleading It’s a spicy ( saffron & cinnamon over a sexy musky and ambery vanilla) Love it and can’t wait to receive my new bottle. This is exactly the naughty version of the Kalemat song by Majida Al Rumi. I believe the song is the inspiration behind the perfume.

Анонім★★★★★

Smells like a super woody Arabian version of Ambre Narguile. Not screamy at all, but woody with lots of patchouli-ish saffron. A bit sour, very dark. It’s okay but I don't like it enough to finish my sample.

Анонім★★★★★

Very linear sweet amber fragrance. Great value for money. Above average performance. The first 5 mins is a bit harsh, but then it smells smooth and high quality. Unisex and evening wear during cooler days. Shukran Habibi!

Interesting - opens up boozy and slightly jammy, with the blueberry skin note being quite recognizable and unique - then becomes smokier and almost oud-y with a touch of honeyed flowers and something weirdly... paper-like? Or even like acrylic paint. I have no idea what note that is, maybe it's the combination of cashmere and rosemary. I'm not even sure if the oud I'm smelling is really oud, since it's not even in the notes. When it settles completely, it's all smokey wild honey and amber with a bit of cashmere softness and some berry jam as well. It's definitely not as sweet as you might think, though, and has a unisex vibe to it for sure. It's interesting that no one so far has noticed a similarity with Montale Honey Oud, which is also all about non-gourmand honey with an oriental feel to the fragrance. Kalemat is not super strong, but recognizable - still not something you'd want to overspray. Can get a little cloying. Definitely more fitting for colder seasons and humid weather. Since I liked the aforementioned Montale fragrance a lot, this one goes into my likes as well.

To the reviewer below “Variant” Your honest review of “how this smells” was fantastic. You managed to take an entire paragraph and not once mention how it smells. Honestly cant stand reviews like this. Your feelings when smelling a fragrance are valid, but do not describe the fragrance in any way that is helpful to those that may be interested in it. This is a great fragrance. A sweet but rich amber with enough backbone thanks to the honey to not make it sickly sweet. The opening is fruity but still has some spicy elements. It’s quite close to Raghba by Lattafa but has a little more freshness in the opening and mid. Performance is very good on me. Noting ground breaking, but a nice fragrance.

Kalemat opens with a strong berry, fresh and bright paired with creamy, sweet amber. The fruit note dissipates quickly (regrettably because it's very yummy and almost juicy). The creamy, sweet honey amber takes center stage, but there's ever so slightly, just barely noticeable an almost medicinal herbal note underneath, maybe the rosemary? I don't like this particular note and it also doesn't stick around long, so that's great. Kalemat is then a sweet but never cloying, creamy, vanilla-ish, a little musk-powdery, a little spiced, delicious, delicious pillowy amber. Later in the drydown, a gentle wood note becomes evident and mixes with the amber. I tried MFK Grand Soir and liked the drydown but in order to reach it, had to endure a sharpness that bothered me and scratched my throat. Kalemat has no sharpness, screechy synthetic, and/or cloying sugar. It's beautiful and golden and I feel sexy and golden in it. I want to roll in this scent like a cat. It reminds me to a certain extent of Hermès Ambre Narguilé (a scent I adore) but without the cinnamon. If you like that, you will enjoy Kalemat. For me, this is an instant love. It is everything I want in an amber perfume, pillowy and creamy, great quality and priced super reasonably. I blind bought Kalemat because I was on the hunt for an amber scent and I came across a review from a wonderful blogger called Kafkaesque. I highly recommend you check out their in-depth review of Kalemat (and their blog, just do a Google search). I'm so grateful for that review because it led me to this beauty.
