Odyssey Mandarin Sky

I tried this a while back. It was quite good and I kept getting whiffs of it eventhough I had only applied it once or twice on my wrist. It smells NATURAL and is super pleasing. I had to use all-caps because it’s the first thing I’m reminded of when I think of it. It had a light, airy ‘sweetness’ that was beautiful.. and I literally live in one of the hottest places on the planet. I don’t think many fragrances can pull that off. Screams great quality blend and ingredients. It pretty much smelled only of mandarin but like the best mandarin note in any perfume ever. It was a sensory delight. That being said, it’s a one-trick pony. A gorgeous pony with a really sick trick, but a one-trick pony nonetheless. It’s just missing that x-factor that makes a great perfume. You can say it’s a little boring: it’s like a beautiful woman with no personality or quirks or idiosyncrasies. She doesn’t play mad on purpose to get to you to smooch up to her. She doesn’t hit you in the head with whatever is in her hand when she thinks you’re looking at another woman. She doesn’t expect you to read her mind and do what she wants without having to tell you. She doesn’t play the “no, you hang up” game with you. She doesn’t do a standard routine police custody questioning on you when you’re late. She just sits pretty. And she’s not even the most beautiful woman you’ve ever seen, just very very attractive. Mandarin Sky is basically a trophy wife for when there’s trouble in paradise with the perfumes you actually love.

Let me do you a favor: get the Elixir version instead. They both smell fantastic, don’t get me wrong. But the Elixir version is better and lasts longer.

I've tried JPG Scandal and loved it so much for that nostalgic caramel note and well blended feel. But it is pricy, so I thought hey I will just get Mandarin Sky, because its cheaper. 95 percent similarity my ass. It doesnt smell like Scandal at all to me. Then I tried to gaslight myself to enjoy it as a standalone, but it is a weird citrusy floral synthetic mess with a watered down caramel note (to me at least, my brother seemd to like it). It is a first time I have a discrepancy between online reviews and my experience this huge, so I am considering that I bought a fake (not very likely). Anyway, if you are looking for a Scandal copy, I suggest you at least test this before you buy it

I had smelled this fragrance on someone (technically the OG) about a year ago, but didn't get a chance to ask, so I'd been searching for it ever since. I was in awe of how good it smelled and how strongly it projected. I wasnt able to find it for so rlong. Then one day as I'm shopping around and just browsing through different fragrances, I got curious and smelled the JPG line. I took a sniff of Scandal Pour Homme and instantly recognized it from the first sniff. This is a near perfect dupe when it comes to both smell and longevity. I get an easy 7-8 hours on this with good projection for the first 3-4, before it slowly starts sitting closer to skin. The citruses in this aren't sharp and floor cleaner-ish. They're very well blended in with the caramel and vanilla notes. The dry down is smoooth. I haven't got any bad things to say about this personally (well...besides the bottle). For 20 bucks you can't go wrong.

It’s so cool to read everyone’s opinions on a Fragrance, this all falls down to personal preference. My girlfriend absolutely LOVES this stuff on me, when it first came out I wore the crap out of Mandarin Sky ran through at least 4-5 bottles in almost year. Got good compliments when I would wear it, it’s sweet, fruity, that Carmel adds such a nice touch with some nice citrus that makes it fresh. Super versatile and easy to rock. On my skin I got a good 7 hours and a lot longer on clothes, like I said my girlfriend LOVES this stuff on me but I grew out of it and haven’t worn it in so long had to revisit this one today and it’s still fire

I haven't smelled the original, so this review is judging the fragrance as a standalone. I got this as a decant, so maybe it's different after maceration. The opening is a little harsh and powdery, but it gets smoother in the drydown, and the caramel becomes more pronounced. Performance is solid for the price. However, I found it too synthetic and sweet to wear. I was expecting a more rich, buttery caramel in the drydown with a hint of orange, but it smells like a cheap attempt of caramel on my skin. A very sweet and unique smell, I just can't see myself wearing it.

A very social fragrance. The caramel is what Mandarin Sky is known for, and it definitely draws your attention. The vanilla can also be detected, but doesn't overshadow the citrus. This is a safe blind buy for citrus lovers and one of the more notable fragrances in the Odyssey line. Longevity and projection is also some of the best in its line. Easily lasts 6 hours on skin and projections a fair amount for the first few hours. This is just a small step down from Mandarin Sky Elixir, which is a little more intricate and has slightly better overall performance. Not a bad fragrance at all, but it won't appeal to as many people as the Elixir would. Longevity: 7/10 - Projection: 7/10 - Overall: 7/10

The bottle is very...yeah. REALLY close to Scandal though, probably for a fifth of the price. 8/10

I bought this on a blind buy and it has wildly exceeded my expectations. I have received many compliments and inquiries about what I am wearing. I also have played around with layering Aquatica with it with very positive results.

DO NOT GET THIS FRAGRANCE. IT IS HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!

I've tried the entire Scandal line and I've gotta say, Armaf knocked it out of the park with this one. Sure, it isn't 100% the same scent, and there is definitely a somewhat synthetic aspect to the fragrance (personally, I get a slight metallic note due to the saffron), but for 99% of people, this is indistinguishable from Scandal if they are merely walking by you. It opens with a bright mandarin note that actually persists and keeps the composition from being too cloying. Right away, you can also smell the dense caramel note that I believe is spiced up by the saffron and sage notes. Over time, it develops into a more ambery type of scent that is empowered by ambroxan. The performance is very strong, and it can linger on clothes for a day or two. Very playful and delicious as a scent.

Tested and disliked form start until the end. Save money and buy something else

Definetly overrated its a very sweet smell but not like 1 millions its a bad sweetness It smells like my dads old 90s Wolksvagen Polo Classic btw.

Just get the OG, it's cheap enough at discounters, fail to see the point of clones like this.

Is it just me or does this lean unisex? It's labeled as a "men's" perfume but because of the citrus, I can definitely see myself wearing this. I have some women forward fragrances that smell more masculine than this. Is it just me or am I losing my mind? lol

Some people say that its to sweet for the summer and I disagree this is a perfect cologne for any time of day any day the orange keeps it fresh and bright while the caramel keeps it warm and edible for colder occasions

Is not as good as scandal (I mean is much cheaper, so ...), influencers try to convince us otherwise, is good, not exeptional, also you need to like the caramel note, i do not love caramel, in particular in summer.

too much for me it's giving me headache. Has citrus but then the sweetness is too much

Citrus but NOT fresh! Need to wait for two months to get the juice works. Not Bad, but I'm not happy.

This smells good don’t get me wrong but this smells like something my aunt would wear. I wanted to see what was the hype about and I’m disappointed. This should be called floral caramel. Cause all I can smell of is a mix of flowers, caramel and Tonca or Vanilla bean. There’s no citrus, no cedar. So if you’re a woman you might like this one or if you’re a guy that likes to smell sweet then you might love it. And please don’t wear this during summe, hot days or any small shared room, it might be headache induce for some, or become annoying, but I’ll wear it during this coming winter and see how it performs with an updated review.

My review refreshed half way im not writing ts from the start this. A great dupe almosy one on one multiple people asked if im wearing scandal performance is not that great lasting about maybe 5 hours and becoming a skin scent in like thrle third hour def worth grabbing its assicting if you love this scent profile

Honestly, i dont get this frag at all. What is it trying to be? Its blended poorly...the transition from orange rind to caramel doesnt make any sense whatsoever. I have never smelled the OG this is cloning, but this aint it, boss.

Was really hard for me to tolerate. At first was enjoyable but it became so overpowering and nauseating.

I’ve tried and tried but I just can’t like this one. The Carmel is too much, it’s just so thick. I also have Lataffa’s version and it’s pretty much the same thing but maybe a little less waxy or candle-like. I need to try the OG, maybe this is just a fragrance I don’t care for.

As you'll notice I didn't vote on the longevity of this fragrance. Why? I couldn't stand it and had to wash it off. Remember those scented markers you had as a kid? Remember how the orange one smelled? Mandarin Sky is a 1:1 replica of that scent.

This does what it says - it's a sweet fresh Mandarin mass appealing fragrance with a prominent caramel note. It's a good solid fragrance, nothing very special, but if you like caramel and mandarin with a fresh leaning, this is the one for you. Personally I like the bottle. Even though it's colourful and chunky, it feels quality, sturdy and the cap fits nicely. Very robust.

I tried this fragrance after getting a 10 ml decant from a friend to compare it with Scandal EDT, which I already own, and in summary, it’s a very affordable fragrance that comes extremely close to what it’s trying to copy. It’s honestly impressive how similar it is, but the main downside for me is that it doesn’t evolve like Scandal EDT and feels noticeably sweeter overall. Aside from that, it’s still a solid fragrance for the price, making it a pretty safe blind buy. I’d rate it a 5/10, but in terms of similarity, I’d say it’s about 90% close to Scandal EDT.
