I used to wear the heck out of this around 2016-2018. I finished my bottle and moved like 7 times and life happened and I forgot about it. Then Atelier Cologne left Sephora. I recently rediscovered this at a perfume swap meet with enthusiasts and OMG I forgot how much I absolutely loved this. Since I re-acquired a bottle I have been constantly wearing it and my coworkers even say when I share some and they spray it at work that now they smell like me lol. This is so damn good and somehow finds a way to hang out longer than I'd expect for a citrus. If you want a photorealistic juicy clementine citrus scent, get your nose on this one if you can. It is my favorite citrus, and I have many in my lineup. Nothing has eclipsed this scent which has made me rediscover my love of perfume.
I fell in love with this fragrance back when Atelier Cologne had a shop in Covent Garden, London. Use to walk past everyday and get a sniff. My first citrus niche fragrance at the time. Now I use it as a home spray, poor longevity and can barely smell it after 5-10 minutes. Beautiful scent though.
This reminds me SO MUCH of a scent of my youth that I can't put my finger on. Maybe a Victoria's secret or bath and body works spray? It's killing me. Anyways this is fine
Just so so comforting. This scent opens with this beautifully bright clementine that smells as tangy as your fingers do after eating one. It's sweet but not overwhelmingly so, and delicately balances soft warmth with cool intrigue. To me this feels like laying in a soft bed recalling the earlier day, which you spent speeding along a highway in your friend's convertible, passing the sun-soaked mountains on the way to the beach. You can almost still feel the wind in your hair. Like a vibrant moment in time enveloped in soft memory. I hope to get a full bottle someday.
Oh my god this smells like childhood. It made me sit here and ponder why it’s so nostalgic in that way to me and then I figured it out: The opening is like a sugary sweet citrus juice, almost like tang, reminds me of me and my cousins eating spoonfuls of that tang powder and hiding the evidence. As well as those super sugary orange juice boxes at school. Then that green herbal heart shows up and it’s so distinctly soapy it’s almost like if the johnson & johnson’s no tears shampoo from the 2000s was made into a perfume. Reminds me of staying in the tub for too long cuz I was playing with my toys, trying to make a bubble bath with the shampoo, being so cozy and warm in my towel afterwards. The full dry down is exactly like that faint cozy skin scent after that bubble bath, soothing and warm. I’m wearing this to bed and sleeping like a baby. There’s also something about this that smells like my mom, I don’t know if it’s another fragrance or soap she uses but it’s such a familiar scent. I’ve never had a scent trigger so many memory associations all at once. I feel like Anton Ego trying the ratatouille… I’m definitely sharing my sample with my mom seeing if she has the same association, as well as my younger siblings who didn’t quite have those same experiences.
Aromatic spicy citrus. Has a breezy almost dewy quality with the herbal greens. This is very pleasant, and has a nastologic quality to it. Unisex and perfect for any bright aromatic citrus lovers. What I imagine an orange grove during a cool early summer night smells like.
Such a fun fragrance. Happiness in a bottle. It has that candied sweetness from mandarin. I understand why people say it smells synthetic.
clementine? lovely
I bought a 6pc discovery set for ten bucks on Marketplace. I enjoyed every scent. But Clémentine California shines. I own scents like Mandarine Basilic, Neroli Portofino & more. I layer them to create my own unique blends which are easily pleasant and uplifting, but nothing's hit the spot quite like this. It's silly 'cause I'm aware that it's simple and sheer, but sometimes it's what we need in tight spaces and the heavy heat of Summer. I like a trim collection that avoids much scent overlap or redundancy, yet I've avoided a purchase for long enough. The tiny sneezes from my vial last long on my skin, wafting through air in a way I can't resist... for hours. I'm a lucky one. 😤 Well, off I go to chase a full bottle. 💸
At first, the citrus is sweet, dense, and spiced. The sweetness evaporates rather quickly, leaving a citrus rind with rising bitterness. The vetiver pushes a dry, rooty edge that feels off, and the citrus loses all freshness and clarity. What should be bright becomes waxy, bitter.
generic soapy citrus scent. I don't hate that I just wish it actually smelled like clementine instead of generic lemon-orangish.
Another blind buy because I love a citrus forward perfume. It does what it says on the tin, it’s a citrusy scent but it’s also quite a peppery , woody vibe when it settles. Idk that i’m wowed enough to purchase the larger bottle at its price point though.
This house makes really nice photorealistic stuff but it lasts as long as the damn time you’d probably eat through the fruit it’s replicating
This is just ok for me & not worth the price. The opening top nots are amazing realistic citrus - mandarin, orange. But that fades in a few minutes & just leaves soapy generic faint smell on my skin. Nope. Not for me.
I'm very disappointed by this, even if it was a tester. I had absolutely no notes of clementine or anything citrus-y, and the moment the opening scent was gone... I got the cigarette ash smell to linger on. I had to layer it on with a vanilla perfume to make it smell decent on me.
heavenly. come for the photorealistic mandarin, stay for the juniper berries.
The scent may have only lasted 10 minutes, but by god were those 10 minutes worth it. The realistic mandarin opening is just so uplifting, and I usually hate the word uplifting but that's the only way to describe it- it lifted me up. I sprayed it on myself on the bus once and my friends stopped their very involved conversation to comment on how great it smelled and ask what it was. Alas, it's now nigh impossible to obtain for a normal price, and I continue to search for a replacement that is easily available in my country (my favourite dupe, Sunflower Pop by Floral Street, is also no longer available in Canada to the best of my knowledge).
This is a wonderfully pleasant scent and does develop from the opening. I had a few samples of this so I decided to spill the entire sample vile on a shirt since there isn't a sprayer. Those experiencing bad performance just need to overspray on clothing. I wish it wasn't so expensive.
As the name suggests, it's giving bitter orange cologne. I don't dislike it, but I do prefer Guerlain Mandarine Basilic, which is sweeter. I realize people vote that "reminds me of" based on listed notes, not that they've smelled it. This does not smell like Mandarine Basilic.
Truly one of the best and most realistic clementine fragrances on the market, bar none. 𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 - Opens up with juicy, photorealistic mandarin orange/clementine. Super sunny, uplifting, and happy. As it begins to dry, the juicy flesh turns into slightly more bitter pith, mixing with slightly herbal and green notes of basil, but the focus never leaves the clementine. There is little to no change in the deep dry down, except for shots of clean white musk and other aroma chemicals to help extend the fragrance's lifespan. 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 - Truly one of, if not the best, interpretations of the Clementine fruit on the market right now, but it's a shame it has been sold out at many of the US discounters. I would hesitate to buy this for anything less than $100 due to its simplistic nature, poor performance, and general use as a mood booster. I loved spritzing this on during those hot summer mornings when I had to get a couple of chores done and go to the gym before showering this off for work or other plans: truly a dumb reach, but a lovely one at that. If you like fragrances like "Afternoon Swim" by Louis Vuitton or "Mandarine Basilic" by Guerlain, you have to get your nose on this one; it's that good. 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 - Moderate performance for a citrus fragrance of 6.5ish hours before disappearing off my skin, with it only noticeably projecting off my skin for the first hour or so. 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 - 9/10. 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐫 - A quick Sunday brunch with your friends, sitting on the patio is a requirement; When you gotta run out of the house to do a couple of quick errands; Waking up to head to the pool in a couple of hours. 𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐯𝐢𝐛𝐞 - Lovely day by Bill Withers 𝐓𝐋𝐃𝐑 - Sweet, juicy Clementine & Mandarin + slightly herbal and green Basil + Shots of White Musk. A super simple yet super pleasing clementine orange fragrance that is sure to put a smile on anyone's face. While a bit lackluster in terms of performance, it makes up for it in its sheer likability and ease of use. If you want to smell like you just rubbed yourself down with tangerines before leaving the house, this seems like the better and less sticky option.
This opens very mandarin and clementine forward. A bit of astringent juniper provides some structure to the citrus. The citrus is very authentic and lush smelling Pretty soon the basil peeks in, but just peeks as it's not strong at all. I don't get the supposed anise or pepper. At this point, I feel like it just freezes and starts to fade. I never get the other middle notes. The drydown is the faintest hint of cypress and vetiver but it's not really a big presence. Overall, points for a vivid, realistic citrus opening, but that's about it. It is very weak and fleeting and doesn't have much substance beyong the opening.
It’s really masculine. I can’t imagine any woman wanting to wear this—it’s like being drenched in the cologne of last night’s date (PS: not your boyfriend that kind of date). And as for California? Oh yeah, it smells like weed. If you walk on the inner streets of LA, you know what I mean……It’s the worst perfume I have ever worn. Maybe it’s because there’s really nothing girly or elegant……
smells like cigarette ash to me I'm thinking it the basil
this will always be a forever favorite fragrance of mine. it’s a bright, lush citrus with enduring clementine and mandarin notes and a lovely sandalwood scent that deepens throughout the day. it’s definitely a more feminine-leaning citrus scent, so if you’re looking for something more masculine then this might not be for you. i was devastated when this was discontinued in the US, but i’ve been able to find it online fairly easily and hope to continue buying it for as many years as possible.
A very lukewarm like ! I LOVE the opening as it's a very bright ,energizing but also smooth and realistic citrus but as this dries down it loses some of its magic. As it dries down you get this citrusy, green, floral and soapy touch which is nice but not even close to the magic of the opening. The drydown is similar to the mid except you get more Vetiver. As a man I do like this but for my personal taste it's a bit more feminine leaning and I have many citrus perfumes that are more masculine and better suited my personality. I asked a friend about this and she also agreed it was nice but probably better suited for a woman. Performance on this however was impressive as I got 6-10 hours pretty consistently. It never really projected loudly but always had a nice scent bubble. Overall rating -6.5 out of 10 ! Beautiful opening but as it dries down it just becomes mediocre
helloooo first summer day in SoCal, its me wearing this perfume! I am not huge on citrus scents, I find that they sometimes lean cleaning product on me, but this one is just special. Effortlessly cool, in a laguna beach hippie girl way.
smells like eating orange hard candies in a field of white flowers, it’s pretty nice
You know that “Soarin’ Over California” ride at Disneyland (recently rebranded as ‘Soarin’ Over The World’)? This smells exactly like the part when you soar over the orange grove!! This could quite literally be the fragrance they spray in the air. I absolutely adore this scent profile, however I unfortunately must agree that the longevity is quite literally nonexistent. Such a bummer, an absolutely wonderful fragrance in every other way. Well, the bottle is also ugly. So I guess not in that way, either.
This has a longevity of about 60 seconds, and that's being generous. You get a burst of fresh clementine and then boom, gone. Nothing. It doesn't evolve, there's no lingering base notes. Nothing.
smells exactly like versace man eau fraiche with less mint ….
