Yeah it’s ok. Violet florals. Soft. Very light on the skin. Not a fan. Was hoping for more by looking at the notes.
Big woody notes. A bit of floral. Not sweet.
Yes, Hypnose family! Love it for the price. Eternal Magic is a vanilla floral, far less fruity than Hypnose but similar due to magnolia and "woody" notes which likely includes vetiver. Nice! Update: the similarity to Hypnose makes this a total winner to me. Kind of an office friendly version.
I like this a lot, soft, peppery and fresh, a little nondescript so I will need to test it later, but overall a like. Don't get distinct iris or violet, but it goes with the clean aesthetic that I like in the mornings / daytimes, musky and fresh, a little citrus, and it vanishes in a few hours which honestly works great for me as I like to wear something heavier in the evenings (especially during cold months.) Will add more comments when i test it a few more times but overall, in true avon nature it smells good, natural, not too sweet not plastic, very office (or crowd) safe and wearable. 06/02. Loving this!! Daytime wear. I feel the iris now, fluffy and clean, fresh, perfect. Love that it only lasts a few hours. Avon is too underrated.
The first spritz of Eternal Magic is full of alcohol and is sharp with the pepper and bergamot. It soon dissipates, a fresh violet shows up, soon to be joined by a delicate, powdery iris, and it now turns into a romantic floral. If there is rose, it is very shy. I cannot sense it. The dry down is mainly soft sweet woods with a touch of vanilla. Performance is unimpressive 1-2 hours; it pales in comparison to Hypnose. I don’t think it should be considered as a dupe. Overall, Eternal Magic is a pleasant but forgettable floral.
I purchased this because im the BIGGEST Lancôme hynôse fan and would love to find a cheaper dupe. I managed to source a 1.7oz EDT for 10 bucks, and am glad to report they are indeed very similar. Id say this fragrance is a more floral take on hypnôse, but it still retains that vanilla-y sweetness. The longer the scent is worn, the less it resembles hypnôse; but that would make sense since there are such differences in both fragrances composition/notes. Only cons i found was that its fades VERY quickly and the sillage is poor, making it feel not as exciting to wear as hypnôse. Probably will buy another bottle anyway when this ones empty!! 😅
took this from my mum since she never used it. i can tell why. i did one *spritz* and my nostrils were burning. didnt float my boat at all. my boat sank. reminded me of dying my hair - that lung piercing ammonia smell. HOWEVER, i feel as if this is purely due to me because my friend said that it smelled okay (must've been the dry down). your honour, i took the l. was it worth it? personally, i think not.
I got this as a gift when I was 19 and a mother to a new born. It wasn't something I would have bought myself, but it's nostalgic for me now and the bottle is actually really elegant. I remember feeling like a señora wearing this and getting me and my baby ready for church, like I was really an independent a sophisticated grown woman now. It's cute to look back lol. It looked pretty with my perfume collection and though it was a dark and mature scent, sort of mysterious and deep in a woody and powdery way, it worked for me. It's not for everyone bc it can come off as having grandma perfume undertones or being strong but if you use it correctly and like the notes you will enjoy it. I think perfumes like this need a purpose when you get them as a gift and you don't love it or it's not your type.
I have tried to like this scent too many times. At this point I know I don't like it one bit. It's sharp and powdery, almost like an astringent cleaner of some sorts mixed with grandma's perfume. I love violet but when a powderiness is present it really bothers me.
When I was younger, I wore this on vacation. This scent takes me back. It's my favorite iris scent. The sweetness is perfectly balanced and does not make the perfume smell cheap. I don't even notice the sweetness it's more powdery vanilla. I wish they brought this back.
First, this is quite good, no doubt. However, there's too much of a freesia/aldehydic quality and not enough of the base for my tastes. Not as unisex as I had hoped, but I was willing to give it a chance at a low price. UPDATE: In the far drydown, a powdery patchouli becomes a player too, but it never gets super-sweet or super-vanillic.
This is such a beautiful fragrance!
Suitable name and packaging... and eternal magic of tenderness. To me, smells like a Guerlain family perfume. Melancholy, quiet, sad, powdery, nostalgic, eternal. Somewhat green but not too prominently so. A really subtle whispering perfume. I liked it at first spray.
I've loved this one for years. I've had at least 2 or 3 bottles and I have a backup in case I can't get it anymore. It's a perfect creamy, sweet floral in my eyes. It's pretty, soft and feminine. It's for days you just want to feel cozy and comfortable. Lasting power doesn't concern me with a reasonably priced perfume so if I need to reapply after a few hours, I'm good with that. I also have the body lotion and layering helps longevity.
I can attest that this really is very similar to Lancome Hypnose and the color of the liquid and design of the cap makes me think that this was meant to be a dupe... I know the notes are way different listed here but all I get when I sniff it is the "passionfruit bubblegum" I get from LH. The lasting power is nowhere near that of its pricier counterpart and I would suspect that LH aficionados would say they are nothing alike, as always. If your looking for an inexpensive dupe that has the same vibe as LH then look no further.
A spicy, crisp powdery floral that radiates within six feet at first spray. I don't mind this at all and I like the way it dries down to that chic powder with just a tinge of sweetness. I don't smell the vanilla though, I'll need to test this a bit more to see if I get what other Fragrantica users are getting in the top tier. My sister gave me little more than half bottle full of a 30mL bottle I think. She kind of hates powdery florals so when she realises something she bought is powdery she gives it to me to rock. I notice this is being touted for formal wear in the advertisements. I wore this during the day and it was most refreshing but I think one night I'll pull it out and give it a try to see how it performs. "Eternal Magic" is a good light fragrance with a refreshing vibe.
I've owned this perfume for quite a couple of years now and enjoyed on cloudy winter days ever since I remember. I only wish it weren't discontinued...:( While it certainty bears some resemblance to Hypnose Lancome and not just in colour (no wonder it came almost at the same time as Hypnose), it is almost the same as ZARA ORIENTAL. So if you're crying over Eternal Magic, go to your nearest Zara store and give Oriental a sniff - you might be surprised.
Don't mind this one. Not too heavy just soft and pretty for a floral.
I have this, it was offered. and I like it..but it reminds my mother of bug spray...so i don't wear it xD
No, yet another disappointment for me.
Too synthetic for me to enjoy anything. Something sweet and bug-spray. One spray on me Sillage: arm's length Longevity: one hour Rating: 1/5
This is a sweet, powdery floral. Blue florals like iris and violet can be quite cold, but the vanilla warms this one up, making it wearable any time of year. It is versatile and could be good day or night. The vanilla makes it a little less formal so you could wear it at casual events but it is also dressed up enough for work and formal occasions. Excellent all-occasion scent. Lasts about 4 hours, moderate sillage.
Well if Hypnose is for special days then this is the version I wear round the house or use like body spray to intensify Hypnose. It doesn't smell as rich but it's a nice comforting scent, lots of vanilla on me. No sharp edges but with a hint of freshness. I would happily keep a bottle around as it's so cheap, of course the lasting power is non existent but thats no surprise.
I was in a store that sells Avon, and they had a tester of Eternal Magic. I just had to try it because of the positive comparisons made between this and Hypnose. While I see some similarities between the two, Eternal Magic is not a dupe for Hypnose. That said, Eternal Magic is a nice fragrance. It opens with a burst of citrus and becomes more floral over time. The dry down is musky with some vanilla. The longevity is moderate with intimate sillage. This would probably make a good work fragrance. It's also very affordable. I like Eternal Magic well enough, but not enough to buy it. Personally, I'd rather save my money for another bottle of Hypnose.
It is already discontinued in the philippines but still got 1 in my stocks. i manage to make the sillage and longevity of eternal m. by over spraying around me. not just on my skin but also on my shirt.
very similar to Hypnose, But way more flat and sharper. Doesn't have the subtle creaminess Hypnose has. Still, I like Eternal Magic. This fragrance also goes well with my chemistry like Hypnose(EM smell quite cheap tbh but its not bad) I think with its floral edge I can wear it anytime. Just hopefully it has more lasting power and projection - Like
I own a travel size and only found it a month or so ago. Have yet to wear it but I like the scent from the spritz into the cap. Edit : Wearing this now. In theory I should love it as it is musky, and floral even a little bit sensuous but ... something does not give it that OOMPH ... that a fragrance called Eternal Magic should have. I would not say no if it were brought for me as a gift but I would not go out of my way to purchase the full size. Thankfully, I only have the 30ml Trazel Size. So I may wear it as much as I can to get rid of it faster.
Thank you to 2746cstreet for my decant of Eternal Magic. She and I were actually discussing this fragrance and she mentioned that it reminded her of one of those strawberry shortcake flavored ice cream bars with the cookie crumble bits coating the outside. I couldn't agree more. Those pink ice cream bars were artificial, vanillic, creamy, and a little bizarre, yet strangely delightful and appealing in a weird way. I spent entire summers gobbling them in without fully comprehending what exactly it was that I was ingesting. Eternal Magic features a slightly powdery, very creamy, slightly tart and almost fruity (but not quite) vanilla. It's like vanilla + cream and a little citric acid to balance it out. I find this strawberry creamsicle to be playful, comforting and delicious, with the creaminess and tartness successfully tempering the sweetness. However it is not without its artificial aspects, and I'm sure it is an acquired taste. If you still get excited when you see an ice cream truck, Eternal Magic may be for you.
It's my favourite from avon, on me sillage is very good, n longivity is for 2-3 hrs bt I just love spraying this. I even bought the deodorant spray of this..it's a beautiful blend of iris violets n something sweet... Bt not cloying sweet.. I will stock up some bottles incase they discontinue this. But I don't think that will happen..
