I like the curacao note, Pulse is a sweet powdered perfume, curacao adds a summer cocktail freshness to it.
The curacao wonder! What a nice perfume! The addition of blue curacao note make it very interesting. Good quality that combines very good with cheap price. To say the truth it's my favourite cheapy but i cannot decide whether it fits for winter or summer.
My mom own a bottle since 2016. It's so cloying and powdery the first 10 minutes. Smells mostly like bergamot, orchid and Curazao blue. The drydown is super generic.
Not for me - far too citrusy and obnoxious .
I loved loved Beyoncé Heat a lot but Rise and Heat Wild Orchid disappointed me so much with its sillage and projection. I thought Pulse will be so much better, turns out it vanishes within 20 minutes especially during a hot day. Upon initial spray, I can smell a powdery note with a hint of Curacao and citrus and it developed into a muted musky vanilla. The bottle itself is cute but not as great as Mugler's bottle.
I bought Pulse for a low price, in a set with body wash and moisturizer, just to give it a try. I mainly get curaçao with a tiny bit of vanilla, and I don't hate it, but I don't particularly like it. Pulse smells cheap. I mean, it is cheap, but some cheap fragrances are gems. This one isn't in my opinion. When I finish up the body wash and lotion, I will pass it on. I did finally figure out what Pulse reminds me of and why I don't care for it. It reminds me of tanning salon lotion. Now, I really like sun tan lotion scents as I like beachy scents in general. But tanning salon lotion reminds me of Ed Hardy and Affliction and gym rats driving Hummers - all that early 2000s stuff that is unfortunately starting to come back in fashion. On that note, I'm off to dig out my "Love kills slowly" tee shirt and reminisce a bit.
This one and CK in2u are my go-to fragrances for the gym. Pulse is a bit more energizing and fizzy, and the CK is a bit more soft and creamy. The lasting power is a few hours, better on clothing than skin. Fresh, sparkling and fruity but not in a ”in your face!”-kinda way.
The only notes I smell that's in the description is Curacao lol. It literally just smells like an orange pez candy sweet margarita. So Curacao lol. That's it. Then it just fades into a sweet kinda smell.. Very linear and boring, there's so many other fragrances out there that I don't see a point on spending your money on this. Very immature too and that's rich coming from me because I love youthful scents lol. But this one just lacks any kind of personality. Pass for me on this one.. Love you tho B
First comes off as super citrusy but later settles into a fresh feeling vanilla, whatever that may mean to you. Most refreshing celebrity scent I've tried, suitable for super hot summer days.
I like this--I've been wearing this for so long! I love the peony and Curacao notes in this fragrance! A much welcomed change of pace.
This is a light, fresh, musky pink floral. There's something almost aquatic to the opening- its freshness makes me feel as if I'm at a beach front bar enjoying a smoothie. The peony note stands out to me in the mid, enveloped by a cloud of musk and slightly sweet vanilla. This is a young girl's feminine fragrance, it's light, sweet, airy and quite frankly, forgettable. The woody note develops in the dry down, but the fragrance stays light and sweet in a way that is almost... just about linear.
a blast from the past. so sweet, so citrusy, and it does not smell like the run of the mill celebrity fragrance. definitely getting this and will use it as a body spray for running errands. has a mood-lifter quality to it!
I have no idea what coconut note people are referring to because when I spray Beyonce's Pulse, I get the bergamot, Curaçao(bitter orange liquor) and pear blossom. Strangely, the opening on me is a bit like an orange creamcicle. The florals move in fairly quickly and the dry down I get is a sweet vanilla powder, but not a powder bomb like Flower by Kenzo. It has some woodiness, but it is quite tempered by the other notes. This is not screechy, but a subtle sweet citrus powdered vanilla. I will use it during cool summer evenings and during the fall. It needs some warmth for the notes to bloom. This would not do well in freezing cold temperatures.
On my skin, Pulse starts with an energizing mixture of tangy bergamot, bitter-sweet orange peels, delicious vanilla and a minuscule dose of creamy coconut. It smells very summery to me, the coconut here is not very warm or sweet and doesn’t overpower the citrus notes which I like. The flowers play a secondary role, I can only detect a faint jasmine. The dry down is a soft powdery vanilla and sandalwood with a clean white musk accord. It lasts 3-4 hours on me and projects for the first hour only. I like to wear it to the beach in the sweltering months of July and August so the performance is ok for that purpose. 🏖
A nice, fruity semi floral/soapy freshie. It’s nothing revolutionary but for that price point it smells good. Just something to throw on when you don’t want to choose. Careful though, too many sprays and this reeks of something detergent like. Too little, and you won't be able to smell it at all. The longevity is also of course, garbage. The bottle is also a travesty. My god, the ugliest thing I have ever seen. LOL.
I'm not normally the type of person to buy "celebrity" perfumes. I'm in my 30s and find that I'm too old for a lot of bath&body/victorias secret type perfumes as well. I blind bought this for $13 after reading a review where someone said it's comparable to Soleil Blanc by Tom Ford. Firstly, this is nothing close to the same scent as TF SB - not trying to sound like a snob, it's actually just a completely different scent in every way, so I was quite disappointed there. But there is something pleasant, summery, and tropical to this - probably the blue curacao is what dominates this scent. I used to bartend and couldn't place this perfumes fruit scent at first until I read the notes and it clicked. If you hate blue cucacao you probably will hate this also (while bartending I met many people who refused to even try cocktails containing curacao, it's a divisive spirit). It gives me "grown up victorias secret love spell" vibes. Not as strong, young, or fruit-bomb-like as VS love spell, but an older sister or cousin of the scent. I haven't been "into" VS Love Spell for well over a decade and often find it to be too much like a junior high girls locker room cloud of clashing fruity sprays, but this isn't nearly as obnoxious or overpowering. I'm getting more of a tropical fruit beverage scent than anything like coconut or pineapple - I was hoping for some coconut in this but there's none. It's a nice scent I think I'll enjoy wearing anytime I need a fruity summer warm-up, though the longevity and projection is very weak. The scent only lasts 30min-1hr in its true form. Then it leaves a subtle light dry-down that can stick around for another couple hours max, but that's only after I apply 20+ sprays all over my body. I'm NOT usually an oversprayer, through my life I've always been more inclined to gag on other peoples strong perfumes, but so many newer perfumes/formulations over the past 5+ years have zero projection or longevity, even the $200+/bottle designer fragrances. I wear perfume for the compliments, not just so I can smell myself. After 20 sprays of Pulse my spouse didn't notice anything until I asked and he directly sniffed my skin, then he said "oh yeah it's very light, smells like you just showered with a fruity soap." If you're looking for a head-turner or a signature scent others will notice, this isn't for you. If you're looking for a refresher/body spray that gives summery vibes and you don't mind reapplying often, this is a bargain at $13 a bottle. The bottle itself is odd though, the cap is huge and rolls right off the vanity every time I uncap it. If you don't reapply the cap carefully, you'll hit the spray trigger and loose juice inside the cap. I rated this a "like" but honestly I'm easy to please - I think more people would consider this "ok" or "meh/not for me." Update: I thought I'd continue enjoying this but I got bored with it very fast and sold my bottle.
This perfume makes me sick to my stomach. The smell is just weird, like a fizzy orange seltzer alcoholic beverage with baking soda in it. It literally makes me nauseous. I've tried it in every season for a couple years and it's the same every time. It smells like the orange bottle fantasy by b.s. just lighter and more seltzer and baking soda .
First sniff- citrus, second, third, on and on- vanilla, vanilla and more delicate, but more vanilla.
This is such a strange one_ starts off like a strong, sweet blue curaçao tropical alcoholic beverage, then goes into a men's cologne realm for the mid, and then dries down extremely powdery. It's a bizarre journey, but strangely enough I don't hate it and I like that the dry down lasts surprisingly long on me. For $13 can't complain!
I'm pleasantly surprised by this fragrance. I think it's good value for money. I paid only £10 for 100ml bottle! I would describe t as a light floral citrus vanilla perfume which is suitable for day time wear. I much prefer this to Heat Wild Orchid which is the only other Beyonce fragrance in my collection.
I definitely get the blue Curacao and a coconut note, but I also get a lot of powder and a hint of cleaning product. Without the powder, it might be a good summer scent. I don't really hate it but I don't think I'll be reaching for it.
Im currently in love with this scent! But, who the h*ll rated this as ”eternal” ?? For me it lasts about 1 1/2 - 2 hrs wich is devastating as I love it so much... Does anyone have a tip of any other frag that smells the same but longer lasting?
This is very different. A minty light citus scent. Leaning more masculine in my opinion.
Pulse by Beyonce is very different from the rest of her collection. I think it's unisex. Personally on me it smells like Eau De Star by Mugler with some jasmine and creamy coconut. Only issue is the performance, it's really weak skin scent. Still I think it's very beautiful.
This perfume is incredibly cheap (I got my 100ml bottle for £9!) and so it's hard to complain about it - although I would not want to. On my skin, the initial spray smells like a lovely vanilla with slight fruity notes to it, I can definitely pinpoint the citrus. The dry down is just as pleasant to me, as it settles down to a very warm vanilla. I can still smell hints of the citrus but the vanilla is much more prevalent than in the opening. I think this is a very durable fragrance as the vanilla makes it appropriate for autumn and winter, but there is a lightness to this fragrance that makes me reach for it in the spring and summer too. In terms of longevity, I can still smell this 7 or 8 hours after applying it. Sillage is not the best ever but for such a cheap price I don't mind. This is my favourite celebrity perfume and by far the longest lasting that I've tried, and now a staple in my collection - love it!
This perfume smells like a lot of things to me .. first spray smells like orange cream + white musk . White musk like the body shop one. Then Orangey but not in an edible way. I don’t really like the opening. After about 15 mins, as the florals creep in, this transforms into the most gorgeous and innocent scent ever! Creamy citrus done right, this a beautiful vanilla bergamot combination, The curaco adds a sparkling touch, along with the peony and pear blossom for a floral and almost soapy twist. You surrounded by a waft of ‘after shower’. the drydown is all ´i just showered, just moisturised’. Lovely! Like another reviewer mentioned, it also has a baby shampoo vibe going on! I This lasts for about 3 hours, and then becomes a skin scent. And the best part, , it’s such a cheapie! A real steal! Can’t wait it wear it more often!
I remember owning this as a teen, which makes sense looking at the notes. Pulse is cheap-smelling, sickly sweet and cardboardish, nothing to write home about. I get no citrus from this, just overwhelming sweetness of curacao and vanilla with some odd whiff of jasmine. It is so disgustingly sweet I can't bring myself to enjoy it. Maybe it's just my bodychemistry, but this definitely isn't yummy.
I bought this in the summer of 2017, along with Desigual's Fresh, while on vacation. I've finally completed this bottle and can give my full thoughts. I really liked it on initial purchase, and I still think it smells nice, but its performance isn't enough to make me want another bottle. It's a very citrus-y leaning vanilla, very much like an orange creamsicle, and I can totally get the Blue Curaçao vibes too (in fact, I was in the Caribbean when I made the purchase, so I definitely saw the association with citrus-y tropical drinks). The dry down is a soapy floral musk, and while I am glad it is a clean musk, the dry down is such a boring one that I just got bored of it. Sillage is slightly above a skin scent, and longevity is very poor (1-2 hours, max. I own body sprays and EDCs with better performance). The packaging and presentation is confusing. I like the vibrant Caribbean pool blue of the liquid, but the bottle is the most cumbersome thing ever, especially at the 100 mL size. The bottle is meant to be set on top of the lid, but it's really annoying to have to flip the bottle over to get the last drops of fragrance. Final Thoughts: might be a nice gift for young teens who are into citrus fragrances. Nothing offensive, but nothing super special either. Avoid if looking for a long lasting fragrance.
I really-really like this scent! Very feel good, sweet sweet vanilla cocktail. Like slightly lemony sugar syrup. If only the sillage and longevity was better, it would be a summer/spring favourite!
