Nude

A sweet fragrance, no Vanilla and no Patchouli at all. It subtly reminds me of Burberry for women original.

Sweet leather spiced with cinnamon. It’s a very “light” composition with decent sillage and longevity, especially for the price. However, it must be stated I own an original 90s bottle I won at auction, and this may have potentially changed in formulation or matured with time. Many are describing this as a faint skin scent, but others have noticed me wearing this from a small distance and commented. The smell is identical to the interior of my father’s Camaro, which was lined in pure leather seats, covered by a plastic protector. I grew up helping my dad work on it in the garage, found my expression in there as a gender nonconforming “tomboy” or agender person, and had many childhood memories of trips in that car. This is that smell to a T. I was hesitant, as I am not a skin scent person and the reviews were mixed, leaning negative, as to what this fragrance would smell like. I did not have high expectations as this was only one fragrance in a lot I purchased, and this one was not my reason for buying. I was not prepared to tear up. Expect a soft, sweet, ambery vetiver musk with fruity undertones, a light yellow floral complexion, slight green undertones, and a warmed plastic/Lactonic smell. This is better than a lot of modern designer compositions which rely on sweetness and gourmands to convey that sweetness. This fragrance is mature, but not in a heavy or overbearing way. This is a date night fragrance turned diffusive for casual everyday, all season wear. Or maybe… this smells like a muscle car, or your comforting childhood couch.

I wore this for a year or so in the 90s. It had a distinct powdery patchouli scent in the drydown that I began to find cloying. Though I do ok with patchouli in the notes, if it's distinctly identifiable it never works for me. I see it's not mentioned here but it was definitely there. It became that I found this perfume nausea inducing and that's the incense likely too. I've had other perfumes do that to me. I just really can't stand the smell of this one since then. I gave it away. Just a reminder: if you're smelling skank, fecal, piss, celery, pickle, banana, vegetal (unless it's got tomato or veg in the description) your perfume is spoiling and some notes turn at different speeds. Try not to disparage the perfume by reviewing a bad bottle, it's not accurate.

Revisiting this stealthy nymph again. Memories from the first encounter, 40 years ago. My innocent nose, her cheeky surprises with her big entrance and the chase thru the green garden maze, ahhh the perfume daze and surrender! My Mom wore Rive Gauche Yves Saint Laurent and Grandma was a Chanel No 5 Belle, so I never had a fighting chance! So glad to be intoxicated with this beauty. This is a go big or stay home experience, not for the timid. It was a steal back in the day and my bottle has only gotten better, I can’t speak for the newer batches but I am sorry for those who have been robbed of this siren’s song. Try to find a vintage and get ready to find yourself in a sumptuous feast for the senses.

I thought I enjoyed this one when I first smelled it back in the late 80's, but either my memory is faulty or the reformulation is really bad. This is unpleasant. My husband said "you smell like talcum powder and tiger balm but mostly powder" and that's about right. At least it's a lighter scent, and hopefully it fades away quickly. Blech.

For such a boring beige bottle and bland name, Nude gives a wild ride. My bottle is about 12 years old, so is that new or old? Not vintage, but also not the new iteration that sounds like a travesty. The skanky musk radiates and blends with the orris to give an odd purple leather smell, so unusual yet comforting. When I spray this on clothes, they smell like clothes someone else wore but not to the point of needing to be laundered. Like when your incredibly cool friend left her sweatshirt in your dorm room and you put it on just to imagine being her for a minute, hoping to absorb her chic. Sophia Grojsman signs everything with a 'grojsmanade,' a musky combination of floral notes that probably includes cashmeran or something similar. Nude is not a reference to nude skin; it's an admission that this scent is the grosjmanade in its purest form. This combination of notes underpins most of her other compositions, at least to my nose.

I wore this in the 90s. Back then my grandmother was my "influencer" 😍 I smelled it on her and had to have it, despite my being in middle (or maybe high?) school. It was class and sophistication in a bottle.

I just received a new bottle of the cologne, after letting it rest a day, I sprayed two sprays and noticed it has a long lasting oily or waxy sheen on skin. The scent is not strong but does remind me of Cabochard, the reformulation of it anyway. I have to say it has a little bit of a stank/poopy note during the first few minutes, that thankfully disappears, along with most of its scent. So, I know it is a Cologne strength made by First American Brands, unfortunately is has no sillage or longevity, and my sprayer leaks all over the plastic "cuff" on the top of the bottle. I am disappointed, but, perhaps in warmer weather it will seem stronger and last longer... UPDATE: I had to throw it in the garbage. it was awful, just garbage.

I love Nude! My bottles is very old probably from the 1990s. Nothing smells like this. This has been in my family since well forever. Since the came out! This is very strong and 3 or 4 sprays is more than enough. I never tire of this! I shall always wear this. Absolutely beautiful! If you are smelling the current it’s no where near as good now. Watered down and missing much important notes. Love it!

It was my dream to own this perfume, and I was lucky enough to find (what I believe is) a vintage bottle on clearance at an old perfume shop. Although it wasn’t a blind buy, I still can’t bring myself to use it and haven’t decided yet whether to keep it as part of my collection. From the moment of the first spray and for a couple of hours after, the scent is simply unbearable (and taking a shower doesn’t help get rid of it). It has a harsh smell, reminiscent of a carpenter’s workshop or a chemical store. Once it settles, though (and it lingers on clothes for several days), it transforms into the scent of a powder compact. It reminds me of a rare, black compact with a golden rose design that my mom had in the USSR—an authentic Lancôme piece—and it smells exactly like that compact. From my own collection of powder compacts, I’d compare it to Parure’s version from the 2010s. Frankly, I’m not a fan of powdery fragrances, especially not this kind. I must admit, though, that She Wood is one of my favorites, even if I wouldn’t classify it as a powdery scent.

The first time I smelled Bill Blass "Nude" was on my mom when I was a child. This perfume was in the back of my mind for such a long time and when I remembered about it, I looked up where I can buy it. I agree that they have reformulated it quite a bit because the original smell was fantastic! It was more complex and smelled more floral. Some newer batches do have the sharp note (as one user mentioned "nail polish" note), while others did not have it. If you are not a fan of aldehydes, just skip it. If you are prone to bouts of migraine, also skip it. However, if you love aldehydes, you will love it from the first spray. Usually, I am not a big fan of narcissus but here, it is a perfect piece in this scent together with oakmoss and rosemary. It dries down into a pleasant musky scent. This is the scent for someone who wants to make a statement. Or, someone who feels nostalgic. Wouldn't recommend for office wear, though, it can be a tad bit too strong.

This has a metallic off-putting smell. I can’t even smell my beloved Iris, which is listed as one of the notes. I may have been sold a bottle that was exposed to heat. Who knows, these days, we have no option other than to purchase these older fragrances online. I also think that the Sophia Grojsman era is far behind us.

I wore this in my early 20s. There is an apple note not listed, this was and is one of the most romantic aldehydic perfumes I owned.

new version: so i *really* didn't like this when i first sprayed it recently. but then i couldn't stop sniffing my arm (and clothes later) in a sort of semi-horrified-wholly-fascinted way. and hey, i've actually been craving this on and off since. weird. very glad i have it in my collection. dirt cheap, too. as for the scent itself: i don't even know how to describe this. has a bit of cashmere mist, but is sharp, too and not harmless, like cashmere mist is. not really like anything else i have. not like any of the other grojsman creations i am aware of either (and who tend to smell similar to one another.) i don't know. it's so cheap you can get yourself a bottle to try it. old version (by prestige): much different (also good.) much more green and vegetal, i do actually smell the narcissus and it's drying down to a greenish, warm vetiver. interesting to see how the new is *inspired* by the old, but isn't really like the old very much. i think i like the new (and weird) better. addendum: ok, a few days later and i think i like the *old* one better (go figure.) that (the old one) keeps reminding me of chanel no 19 in some faintly aldehydic, green and woody way. and the orris root, of course. this is really worth hunting down.

Just a warning to those buying newer batches of this perfume: it ages terribly. Found an unused decant of this while cleaning today (yes I label my decants, perks of having labtags) and the nail polish note at the start is terrible and doesn't go away after an hour. It was around 2020 I think when I first bought the bottle it came from and gave away the bottle after a few months since it's a crapshoot for my skin.

This is a very clean, sharp scent but it's not boring. Smells very cold and astringent to begin with, sort of like rive gauche but then softens and becomes more powdery and make-up like, reminding me of Armani She. I don't get any sweetness at all. I bought all three of the bill blass line while they are still cheap and I like this one the least but its still nice. I wouldn't of guessed it was one of Sophia Grojsman's but sort of makes sense, has a transparency like some of her other perfumes.

This was my mother's favorite scent. She passed away 2 years ago and I was feeling nostalgic, so bought a bottle for a surprisingly affordable price. It's really a beautiful scent, I get aldehydes, which I normally don't like but in Nude they're very pleasant. I also get musk and slight hint of honey. It's not an overwhelming or offensive scent by any means. I will say that when you initially spray a new bottle it can be kind of harsh but after letting it sit for a while it's much better. I wear this often and really enjoy it. It's not like any other scent I've smelled and is very unique. For the price it's going for, I think its a safe blind buy.

I first discovered BB Nude back in the 90's when it first came out but did not buy a bottle until now. I recall my initial reaction as thinking it pleasant enough yet unremarkable and I liked the bottle. It is still pleasant, unremarkable and I still like the bottle but it's unremarkable because it doesn't try to be anything other than what it is. My impression is that this is what being nude smells like. Stripped down of all frivolity. An aldehydic intro, a tad woody, a smidgen floral, hints at musky vetiver. The sum of it's parts but withdrawn from genre. Bottom line: A soft vetiver at full drydown. Quite 90's-esque and still apropos today. Mind you, this is a cologne so it performs subtle at best. Very nice sprayer. ✨

Maybe I have a bad bottle but this smells really fecal. I tried to wear it and had to wash it off it smelled so vile. It sounded like something I would like but I hate it.

testing from a vintage vial- i get aldehydes, herbs, oakmoss and a soft musk to start. sometimes aldehydes are too much but in here i quite like them, i think they may be softened by the musk (?) i get some vetiver that strengthens over time but doesn't overpower. this is definitely vintage, soft and comforting. later i get more florals and it becomes quite pretty. this is another one that smells amazing wafting rather than close up. (it's not bad close up but the vetiver is slightly sharp close up on me.) this reminds me of something my grandma roseanna would've possibly worn, and for that it makes a positive impression.

I was scared to try this one, I try to stay away from Aldheydes notes because they don’t perform well on my skin but I am glad I took the plunge on this one! This perfume is motherly, soft and sweet not in the notes but in giving you a sweet, calm feeling. It slightly reminds me of Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker, it’s a soothing, velvety scent that gives you peace. It’s a warm embrace, in the arms of someone you love and trust. A great hidden gem!

I don't know how people can say this is like doll's head or talcum powder... On me, it's green, earth and mossy! A perfect chypre. I'm still looking for my perfect powdery, cosmetic fragrance... 🥺

I recently got this, Basic Black and Hot for a bargain. I’m trying Nude and Basic Black on each wrist. Nude with its aldehydes brings a brightness, then powder sets in. I really like how the two mingles. Powdery soft yet assertive. About 20 minutes in, the vetiver adds a bit of dry woodiness. I can see myself wearing this a lot.

Pretty sure I got a spoiled vintage bottle of this stuff and all the top notes have gone because all I smell is sweet, cloying musk. That's it. ☹️

I've never smelled anything before like Bill Blass Nude. It's elegant, cool, bitter and herbaceous but with a very subtle underlying sweetness-that's-not-sweet (maybe the mildly smoky ylang-ylang?). It's subtle and sophisticated, clean, slightly medicinal, & unisex. Even though pear is not listed, several reviewers have mentioned it and maybe that's what gives it a slightly acetone/nail polish remover-type opening -- on top of the aldehydes. It is SO not sweet: iris (my reference is Prada Infusion d'Iris -- cool and clean), herbal, bracing rosemary (I love rosemary!), and an oakmossy smell cut into any sweetness provided -- I think -- mostly by ylang-ylang. This is a giant bargain, in my opinion (around $15), a masterpiece in the Sophia Grojsman oeuvre, different from any others I'm personally familiar with -- I usually associate her with warm peach or other fruits like in Elizabeth Taylor Diamonds & Rubies or Diamonds & Emeralds, Coty Exclamation, Vanderbilt, or the very sweet Lalique de Lalique). Nude is so composed and elegant and, as I wore it today, I was surrounded in this subtle cloud of cool, sophisticated beauty. Sillage is arm's length and longevity is about 5 hours on my dry skin (I spritzed again at lunchtime). Highly recommended, especially if you appreciate juice like Guerlain Mitsouko, the original Oscar de la Renta, or Prada Infusion d'Iris.

I either received a rotten/expired/corrupt one, or this really smells identical to Grey Flannel? It's a harsh, sour , unlpleasant smell, not even noticing anything woody, fruity or floral hints. Smells like an old room with an old lady's corpse laying in it's armchair waiting to be decomposed by insects.

Hard one to explain but here what I smell : the opening is like something in the hospital or dentist probably the aldehyde, Obviously synthetic tbh It’s shock me at first but not unbearable tho since I’m familiar with this type of scent😂. Dry down is powdery when the initial medicinal quality faded something is blooming I suspect It to mainly be creamy floral and other base notes with very little almost non sweetness which resulted in a warm skin like quality, it’s smell so nice. Truly one for you to experience, This isn’t in anyway a safe blind buy people saying its a love or hate are pretty right. Despite being EDC this fragrance perform great 6 hours more or less on my skin though not a powerhouse it’s take the intimate skin scent approach which compliments the scent profile well. After my vintage buying spree this hold up nicely It’s doesn’t smell too vintagey and personally I like BB nude it’s weird but also strangely wearable, It’s those type of perfume that people are not going to says your perfume smell nice instead they’re going to comment about You, You smell nice.
