Roses on Ice

STRONG cucumber. didn't get a single hint of rose or anything remotely floral sadly. just cucumber, a tiny bit of juniper, and a lot of ozone. Appreciated the cucumber at first but it was so heavy, intense, and long lasting it kinda reminded me of being in an uber with a too-strong air freshener. Wanted to love it, but it's just too much.

This is stunning to me. It's a youthful, fresh, dewy aquatic rose with a hint of cucumber. I don't get gin and tonic. I just get joyful and feminine. I currently lean towards fresh laundry perfumes but wanted something more feminine for an upcoming warm weather holiday. It is gorgeous and makes me feel happy and energised. I have so many Kilian fragrances now and I love them all. There's something so uplifting and unexpected about this fragrance. I love it!

A cool fragrance, and adding cucumber to roses is a challenge in itself. At first, I didn't like the idea, but then I liked it; I found it pleasant, delicate, and excellent for hot weather. It's not one of my favorites from Kilian Giant, but it's okay. 7/10

This is better than the rating implies…I guess, perhaps, this makes people feel self-conscious wearing it…might be a little too bold for people wanting to play it a little more safe…an ambroxan cucumber rose scent…the rose is a green, stemmy rose…it does have a Hendricks’s gin vibe…certainly not mind-blowing, but pleasant enough….especially pleasant given that I picked it up for $80 / 50 ml on discounters (wouldn’t be worth full retail)…plays well as a refreshing scent in spring/summer

This fragrance should be renamed to cucumbers on ice. You get a faint floral smell but alot of cucumber up front. I didn't mind the scent. My wife couldn't stand it.

Interesting rose, It feels very ozonic, light citrusy with lemony rose. Imagine sipping a gin and tonic with cucumber and roses on top this is exactly what it smells like. All weather a very refreshing scent. 8/10 longevity is mid

Very strong one-note cucumber scent. I get nothing but cucumber. Reminds me of B&BW cucumber melon. While this projects better and probably lasts longer, I still think I’d prefer the B&BW, as it’s at least has a bit more body to it than just one-note cucumber. For me, this is not something I’d enjoy wearing and certainly isn’t worth the money.

What a lovely fresh scent. It's certainly familiar and strong for a freshie as mentioned below, but I like that that it'll be a great option for a lasting scent on a bright Spring or Summer's day. It's gin & tonic served ice cold under blue skies with fresh cut roses wafting in a light breeze. While downsizing, this replaces 2 fresh & clean scents from my wardrobe.

Cold, clean and refreshing fragrance, cucumber heavy but light and energetic. Hint of rose that vanishes and reappears. Pretty strong for a freshie, one spray on fabric lasts an entire day and on the skin about 6 hours. Suitable for all occasions. Definitely stand out both in the office and on a night out. Ideal for summer. I like to wear fragrance when I'm tired, it gives me an energy boost and makes me feel awake

Uh. This is the worst Kilian fragrance I have ever tried. The cheapest, worst possible air freshener smell. I’m surprised that Kilian disappointed me this much.

This is a very beautiful rose fragrance; unlike many heavy or dusty roses, this one is fresh, aromatic, perfectly unisex, and unlikely to suffocate anyone. The notes of cucumber and juniper are very subtle and serve just to elevate the main accord. I love almost everything about this scent, except for its poor longevity and the inversely proportional price - I mean, come on! There's nothing in Roses on Ice that merits such a steep price. Some users above have correctly compared Roses on Ice with Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria Rosa Verde, which is approximately three times cheaper. So, don't bother with Kilian's greedy ar*e and get yourself the Aqua Allegoria instead.

I think this is THE most unique fragrance I've ever put my nose too. I can't really tell if I love it or hate it tbh. When I first smelt it I adored, it was like something I've never smelt before. Super subtle and sweet and slightly floral. When I saw that it has cucumber it kind of put me off a little bit. Slightly challenging I'd say, and still need to make my mind up about it. I think I do like it though.

I love a good challenge, but my body chemistry said otherwise. After reading the comments, I had to get my nose on this. So as always, I tried it on a test strip first; liked it enough to spritz on my wrist; then waited. Ten minutes later I smelled like a sweaty cucumber w/a hint of rose. No juniper, no gin and tonic, no icy vibe. The cucumber part was not bad, but sweat? And not even the 'I danced all night' kind of sexy sweat, but rather the sharp, salty 'I just dug a trench in the sun' kind of sweat. This one is a hard pass. I refuse to smell like I'm trying to make pickles by putting cucumber spears in my taint! Oh well, I tried. But once in a while you will find something that your body chemistry just refuses to work with.

This is a high class, clean girl scent that is a nice luxury to have. I spray this when I don't want to wear a fragrance because it's just like sitting with a glass of iced water with cucumbers in it along side a patch of roses. Not a long lasting scent, but I think that it needs to be that way for it to be as effortlessly clean and fresh as it is. 8/10 would wear more often if it wasn't so much.

A single sniff was enough for me to say “Hayatimin parfümü!” Wasn’t considering the transition from gourmand to fresh this quick but whatever, will do! I think I’m going bankrupt.

I adore icy, ozonic scents and this one pleases me tremendously. Leans unisex and adds this touch of mature cleanliness to any mood. It’s nostalgic and reminds me of the feeling I get when CK one or ADG had us all in a chokehold. Well blended and refreshing I will always keep this in my collection.

I really adore the way this fragrance smells— though it’s far from my typical taste. The opening has an invigorating and realistic cucumber accord, with a touch of ice and lime. I detect some booziness, but certainly not as much as in Angels’ Share or Old Fashioned. The rose begins to take dominance around the mid and sticks around for the rest of the fragrance’s longevity. That, in combination with the musk, reminds me of Zara’s Fashionably London (elixir), with this very classy and sophisticated touch of soapiness. Not the most unique drydown; but regardless, well-blended and the rose is photorealistic. People complain about the performance of this fragrance, but I have had no issues: good sillage for roughly 2 hours; and longevity is about 8+ hours on skin.

Opens with a very ozonic cucumber and juniper berry, akin to the smell of a gin and tonic. Sadly, the scent disappears as quickly as it arrives, and I have to consistently reapply in order for it to be noticeable. Nice, but a bit disappointing.

Ice cold cucumber - floral scent which is fantastic for hot summer days. Not your average fresh fragrance for sure. I would not encourage for a blind buy, definitely an acquired taste. Perfectly unisex and surprisingly good performance for this scent profile. 10/10.

You’re met with a dew-laced bouquet of fresh herbs (dill, mint, parsley) on the opening - which then melts into freshly sliced cucumber. A slice is dropped into a frosted lime-rimmed glass of gin on the rocks. Rose petals are suspended in the ice cubes, emboldening themselves with each new, slow sip. Kisses of juniper berry linger on your tongue. There’s so much world-building in this truly special fragrance. Don’t be a coward.

Reviewing a sample from 2024. Roses on Ice was launched in 2020. Roses on Ice is a fresh watery rose. This is a fairly linear fragrance consisting of light green roses on a clean musky base. Brightly aromatic with a touch of juniper and pink pepper. I feel that he cucumber is well blended and not overdone; in fact it adds nicely to the watery cooling feel.Not sweet or cloying at all. A touch metallic. The musk base is a touch too clean for my taste. Alos, I would have liked a bit more rose but then it would lean more feminine. Quality- 4/5 very good Unisex- totally Performance- 3.5/5 good (not loud but decent sillage,lasts about 4 hours on me) Roses on Ice is a very nice fresh rose which can work year round but is perfect for hot weather. More unisex than Luna by Penhaligons which is a beautiful very airy rose with citrus rather than an aromatic/cucumber blend. 7.5/10

One of my favorite fragrances ever and even although it’s so airy and fresh it also preforms ! Light cucumber with the ozonic notes , and just a bit of that rose and juniper especially in the dry down. Truly a masterpiece never smelt anything like this , not a safe blind buy

Lots of cucumber in the opening but, what I mainly get from this in the dry down is juniper berry. It does smell like gin. This is of course, watery and airy. I don't really smell rose though. This is too fresh for me and not floral enough but, I could see the appeal of it. This should go without saying but, the retail price is crazy

If you don't tell people what you're wearing nobody will complain and nobody will say you smell like cucumbers, people just recognize you either smell good or bad in public. And they will enjoy this too also I'm in the group of people that think this smells like water but not necessarily rose or cucumbers, just watery and fresh it's kinda got a smell but it kinda doesn't. Kinda like filling up a glass cup of water from a cold glass bottle in your fridge and you see that condensation on the outside of the glass that visual representation is what this smells like without being mineralic or metallic it's yet somewhat watery.

Amazing frag, dont know where people get cucumber from. dont listen to them. the more popular a frag is the more idiots with horrible noses review it, and this, is really popular. smells like roses with a whiff of the ocean. lasts 8 hours+ lacks projection though, need vaseline for this one, 9/10

What were they going for here? A gin and tonic inspired perfume with rose as the starring note. But, oh, surprise! It's actually a masculine fragrance. An aquatic! Hope you like cucumber! Whatever the brief was, I think this is pretty well done. Lot's of interesting things going on... juniper, cucumber, fresh aquatic notes (mercifully no calone), a tiny little rose, woods. Very musky. I was really surprised by the unmistakably masculine aromachemicals used in this fragrance, reminding me of generic men's sport fragrances from the early aughts... but better! If I were to relate it to anything in particular, it might be to Cartier's Declaration d'un Soir, though it's been a while since I smelled that one.
