CK be

Good Lord, CK Be frustrates me so much. It's up there with Armani He in the 'Most Frustrating Fragrances of All Time' category, for me. I actually think I prefer the scent of this to CK One, which is saying something considering the enormous amount of nostalgia I have attached to that fragrance. It's softer, more floral, and more powdery than the fragrances I usually gravitate towards, but that's never been a problem for me when it's done well. Armani He is another good example of a fragrance that sits outside my usual citrusy, fresh, aromatic comfort zone, but smells absolutely gorgeous. And CK Be really does smell beautiful. I mean, it's just so pleasant. It's accessible. It's easy-going. It's fun... ...for about an hour. The first 45-60 minutes are lovely. It's clean, soft, slightly powdery, and understated, without becoming overly sweet or feminine. There's an intimacy to it that I really like; it doesn't need to punch you in the face to make an impression. Unfortunately, after that first hour, making an impression becomes increasingly difficult because CK Be appears to have quietly left the building. As previously mentioned, I've complained about the performance of Armani He in another review, but my last bottle of CK Be was so poor that I genuinely felt almost scammed. I'm not expecting every fragrance to project across a room for eight hours, and something with the character of CK Be probably shouldn't. But I'd at least like the person standing next to me to know I'm wearing it. It's as if it's been watered down. I was convinced I'd been scammed and received a knock-off...but I hadn't. It's just THAT weak. That's what makes this one particularly annoying. If I didn't like it, I wouldn't care. But I do. A lot. There's a genuinely lovely fragrance here, and one that proves floral and powdery fragrances can absolutely work for me. I just wish Calvin Klein would give the bloody thing enough staying power for me to enjoy it. Unfortunately, it seems that most CK fragrances have this same problem. I still own a couple, and I probably always will, but they really need to sort out that longevity/sillage issue. Will they, though? I doubt it.

For me its weak and soft, not a lot of sillage. I use it after i have a shower at night before going to sleep.

Not as iconic as CK One, but I don't mind it at all. It's obviously a different vibe. I agree that the sillage is quite weak, but I can still smell it on my wrist half a day later, and I really like how it combines with my skin. The lavender is definitely noticeable, but you don't go "oh this is lavender" immediately. Maybe a bit tangy in the opening but I think that that has it's charm. I got it on sale and I don't think I would go out of my way to pay full price for it, given the performance. But I definitely enjoy having it in my rotation. It's definitely a more sexy, androgynous feel, whereas One gives me more fresh but cozy vibes. Be means business.

The smell itself is quite pleasant, herbal and fresh, but it's soooo weak, after an hour I can barely feel it.

A simple yet wonderful blend of predominantly lavender upfront with bergamot and sandalwood hanging on the coat tail. A hint of sweet vanilla and some powdery musk develop in the sillage as well. Not the longest lasting fragrance. The dry down is subtle and light, perfect if you want something that's not going to really stick on you all day. I prefer it during the day and doesn't seem to get muddy with the California heat I suffer through. Predominantly male, but a woman could probably pull it off too. It's an affordable summer fragrance and I usually have a bottle on top of my cabinet. Not an everyday wear for me, but one I come back too often. 6.2/10

All I smell is lavender. It's cheap, so yeah, you can buy it for collecting, but using it everyday will be a no for me.

A beautiful, fresh scent, lavender, bergamot and sandalwood strongly noticeable, a great everyday classic.

This is the perfect every day scent. It's light, green, airy, and 90's nostalgia. I just wished it lasted longer. It is more of a skin scent.

I was a big CK One fan but this smells like a pleasant bug repellent. Half natural bug spray, half Deep Woods off. Can imagine it might be the least offensive summer fragrance for the outdoors. Weak, herbal, and Deet

Nice, fresh and a bit dark. Too heavy on the lavendar in the beginning but it gets better during the day. Nice for everyday, but not super special.

The introvert cousin of the CK One era. While CK One was loud in its cultural impact, CK Be always felt more personal and understated. Softer, darker and woodier, it has this cozy clean-skin vibe that still feels incredibly comforting today. The mix of light spices, soft woods, musk and tonka gives it a relaxed “fresh after midnight” feeling that became very characteristic of late-90s minimalism. It doesn’t scream for attention and honestly, that’s exactly its charm. Quietly cool, intimate and effortlessly wearable even decades later. PRO TIP: Layering it with Lattafa Breeze gives the fragrance a modern fresh-musky punch while preserving the nostalgic CK Be DNA, with better longevity.

As much as I love CK One, this one leaves me indifferent. It's not bad at all, it just doesn't have the "undeniability" its famous predecessor still holds three decades after hitting the shelves. But that shouldn't prevent you from giving CK Be a shot, the inoffensive and easy to like scent profile combined with the cheap price makes it a typically blind buy safe fragrance.

This is a very unisex fragrance, the powdery musky lavender actually works better for a woman IMO. So, don’t get swayed into thinking this is a men’s fragrance. I would pass unless you want to buy a unisex fragrance that seems to fade out quickly.

É uma fragrância bem neutra, abre verde e um pouco enjoativa e depois vira cheiro de produto pra bebê. É BEEEM rente à pele, e dura pouquíssimo tempo. Mas é um perfume muito fácil de usar.

This stuff absolutely blew our little teenage minds when it was released. Every kids house around Y2K smelled like this. I swear some of my friends would spray this over unwashed clothes and be like..."ok I'm good now". Times may have changed but CKbe is still a solid value buy. Smells pretty good. I still keep a bottle in the rotation.

honestly i just get hand sanitiser vibes. it is very clean and soapy - quite sharp and crisp. i enjoy it for some occasions. doesnt last very long however. it is very plain and innoffensive.

Pretty fresh, only occssion to wear is when you want very little fragrance like chilling at home

Smells generic and inoffensive (but pleasant). Projection is almost non existent. At the end of the day not an essential frag, unless you're looking for something just hardly more masculine leaning than Ck One.

I disagree with RobbieX, it was ALWAYS pretty weak as far as performance, I know I got in when it first came out in the 90's and loved the smell but couldn't believe how it would disappear in an hour or so. That being said it smells fantastic and very unique. If anyone around me has this on and automatically know it's CK Be. Thinking about that, I could always smell it on other people but rarely on myself, maybe the issue we are going nose blind when we wear it but others can smell it?

This USED to be a powerful lovely fragrance. Now they've gone and spoiled it. Too weak. However, it's still a like from me.....just

When I got this fragrance as a gift I thought it would smell sweet, turns out, its not. It smells fresh but not manly kind of fresh, its balanced. This was my go to scent before I got other fragrances its really inoffensive, nobody will tell u it smells bad. I let my friend use it once and oh boy I realized it actually smells good. However, due to its poor performance you have to spray frequently for people to smell you. This better off as a room deodorizer. I would not recommend this to anyone. Dont get me wrong, it smells good, but the performance is really bad. Sure maybe you want a very subtle fragrance this is it. Smell: 7/10 Performance: 2/10 Overall: 4.5/10

I got back into fragrances, and this was a great deal. Couldn’t beat the price. It smells exactly as a remember, and yet, it doesn’t get the attention I used to get. Maybe it’s because it’s so old.? But in the end, not one that I would gravitate towards for attention. But very safe to wear in business settings.

One wearing and I had to scub. Opening notes - lavender, lemon, greens - are lovely. Then, on me, CK Be shifted to an artificial smelling accord, plastic-y, but quite pleasant. Then it turned into a sour, ugly mess. Muddy pond water. As always with scrubbers, I could smell it for ages. Most reviewers here complain about poor longevity but I had to step into the shower to get rid of it.

This was my mother's signature scent for years so it hilds a special place in my memory. It always had this appropriate mix of traditional and modern that matched her personality well. The smell of alcohol as you spray it, with fresh lavender, and then the more sophisticated powdery sandalwood once it settles. This is what the 90s smelt like. On a recent trial, the fragrance does smell alcoholly and quite a bit dated, but I still think there's something sophisticated in there that says "I know how to dress for the occassion without pandering to anyone's expectations"

Performance is lousy but the smell is so good. Takes me back to high school. 4/5

A 90s throwback that is clean, green and inoffensive, just don't expect too much. CK be opens with a burst of lavender and a generic green glory. The peach is clean and fruity with non descript florals making this a synthetic scent that evaporates as before you leave the house. To me it smells like good quality shower gel, if that is the scent you are going for, and rose to prominence in simpler times. CK be only works if you experienced this during the peak. It is a clip show of your favoruite 90s sitcom, a dial up connection and a trip to the mall. It is MTV cranked up and "you just had to be there" in fragrance form.

Don't believe the hate you see here. If you like lavender, it's the standout note. Don't worry if no one else can smell it on you. Great mood uplifter. If you see it at a good price, take it!!
