When I first got this scent I absolutely hated it cause I thought it smelled like a grandma. It sat on my shelf for years before revisiting it and it has definelty grown on me. It has a subtly sweet, soapy almost powdery floral smell that reminds me of walking around an expensive department store. A delicate fragrance perfect for springtime. I still think it kinda smells like grandma but a rich and elegant grandma with an impressive home garden.

Inoffensive, sparkling, green. Smells like a brief embrace from a wealthy young woman. Carat is elegant enough to feel exclusive, yet safe enough to be a crowd pleaser. Inspires imagery of camel wrap coats, refrigerators stocked with Pellegrino, and a family dog named Harper.

Fresh but nuclear fragrance that smells like expensive shopping. It's not necessarily a natural smell. But it reminds me of buying luxury goods at the mall. Imagine the smell of a designer bag that is sitting on the counter being packed up. The scent also got its slightly aquatic feel.

A very fresh feminine floral. I think I imagined something a bit more *sparkling* in a fragrance called Carat but still lovely nonetheless. Certainly worth getting your nose on if you enjoy floral bouquets.

I picked this one up after a long break. It seemed a fitting choice on this Spring-like day. I mostly get green stems and white florals with a heaping dose of mimosa. Very fresh!

Very delicate, elegant, simple, fresh. Subtly sweet. Medium-lasting. Bliss gel is the enhanced pleasure of showering in summer.

This is a fresh floral but not necessarily aquatic. It’s pleasant.

Carat by Cartier is a soft, elegant floral fragrance with a radiant, powdery finish. It blends multiple floral notes into a light, airy bouquet that's subtle yet refined. A graceful choice for everyday wear, though it may be too delicate for some.

If you told me this was released in 1989 I would believe you.

Verde e floreale, semplice e pulito, ma non banale, una fragranza classica adatta ai mesi caldi. Inizialmente è leggermente pungente e artificiale, per le note verdi.

Greets you with a blast of fresh spring florals. Perfect execution of the green-floral genre. Hyacinth is dominant but I also get whiffs of narcissus and lily. It is light and delicate. Evokes a spring fairy. Also slight retro-vibes, like a greeting from childhood springs. The crispness lasts for about an hour then it gets more creamy and slightly soapy in the dry-down.

I love all types of fragrances, but this one really doesn't do anything for me but give me a bad headache. It's overpoweringly white floral & powdery at the same time. If I close my eyes and imagine someone wearing this scent, it would be an old lady dressed like the Queen Mother.

Smells like a fresh bouquet of flowers. It's a feminine, formal fragrance. I found this in a perfume shop while looking for something else and the moment I smelt it, something in me calmed down. It reminded me of the childhood where I ran to the garden to play every morning, the combined smell of beautiful flowers and grass; it also reminded me of the beautiful parks I have sat in to decompress from a day's stress. Such a happy and peaceful memory to be reminded of! This smell is very unique, the florals are fresh, unlike the concentrated floral scents in other perfumes. The flowers show up one after the other when you move around. They smell like actual flowers still on the stem of their plants, unlike other floral perfumes which are obviously flowery, this is a very intelligent blend of what nature smells like at its prettiest. For a person with sensitive skin and allergies, I have found this to be hypo-allergenic. I can smell the flowers on me when I was my face the next morning, although the sillage fades in a few hours. It causes smell numbing very fast and the one wearing it can barely understand how powerful this fragrance is. 2-4 sprays are enough to last a day. One may want to top up with 1-2 sprays to bring back the top notes again after 6-8 hours.

Sparkling and watery green florals; hyacinth, narcissus, honeysuckle, and lily covered in raindrops from a sunshower. Fresh and sweet, gets a bit more powdery as it settles but never loses its sparkle. Warm & hot weather, projects comfortably above the skin.

Carat by Cartier is a good early spring time floral scent with green and powdery nuances, some fruits, some citrus and a clean, musky base. In my opinion it’s illustrating beautifully the blue hyacinth note. It has besides hyacinth a rainbow of different coloured flowers like: lilies, mimosas, violets, tulips, honeysuckle, narcissus and ylang ylang. The violet and mimosa create an intoxicating, honeyed, powdery scent that’s contrasted highly by the green elements and a crisp bergamot. It’s a subtle, intriguing, distinctive smelling perfume composed mainly around spring flowers that really evoke the nature awakening after a long, dreadful winter season. Longevity and sillage are on a moderate scale, but it is quite to be expected from this scent profile. Would love to own a bottle, looks really stunning, apparently inspired by diamonds.

This is very beautiful, unique and feminine. Signature worth it. -in beginning I was scared because it was green and bitter, exactly what I do not like -after around 10 min, it turned into a very pleasant and calming tulip scent. It turned creamy, a little sweet and very floral and very feminine. -The dry down reminds me of my favourite soaps Camay that a I can not find them anywhere anymore -this parfum has something in it that I can’t explain my self, but really makes me think at diamonds too -after I’m done with my “no buy parfum period “ I’m going to buy this. Memorable femini scent!

It was a gift to me and I tried with all my heart to understand and like it. It is moderately sweet but somehow "candy sticky" scent... not the best of Cartier, bottle is great though.

Carat by Cartier, a floral fragrance, mirrors the essence of diamonds, capturing their brilliance in a symphony of notes. Imagine a bouquet of green notes, pear, and bergamot—a fresh and airy introduction. The heart unfolds like a garden in full bloom, an ensemble of hyacinth, tulip, narcissus, lily, honeysuckle, violet, and ylang-ylang. These blossoms weave a tapestry of elegance and refinement, a representation of beauty in its purest form. Carat is more than a scent; it's a living interpretation of joy and vibrancy, a cascade of crystalline energy. Just as diamonds diffract color, Carat diffuses the spectrum of floral hues. Seven different flowers unite, much like the colors of a rainbow— VIBGYOR —all captured within violet, lily, hyacinth, ylang-ylang, narcissus, honeysuckle, and tulip notes. This fragrance is not just a composition; it's an explosion of life, a testament to the beauty found in every facet of nature. Carat by Cartier, a sensory journey that mirrors the brilliance of diamonds, a celebration of color and life distilled into a bottle.

This perfume is definitely likeable, but it's not a love for me personally. I like the honeyed smell of the mimosa and the sweet and honeyed white floral smell you get from the honeysuckle from time to time, but I wasn't mad on the pronounced pear note or the spicy tulip note. Also I love violet as a note, but I don't think it fits well in this perfume. The heady narcissus, waxy lily, green hyacinth and sweet ylang ylang notes are lovely though! I think the composition would have been better if it were arranged as such, without the notes I said didn't work in this. I feel like this fragrance would be good for during the day for either spring or summer but I don't think it would work for night time. It would be too light a fragrance for that. It's a very feminine perfume though and it definitely smells pleasant and pretty to the nose. I just think that it's a bit too much of a mishmash of different things. I got moderate sillage from this perfume on my skin and a longevity of 6 hours on me, so it's not a weak perfume for sure. I certainly wouldn't call it a powerhouse though. Altogether I'd give this fragrance a 7/10 and I don't think I'd buy it for myself personally. I think that my mom might love it though! I might get it for her for Christmas this year.

I thought I’d enjoy Carat since I’m a big fan of Baiser Vole, and was looking forward to trying another green perfume from Cartier. But it’s really nothing special. Not green enough, not floral enough, it’s missing that crystalline, dewy touch I was looking for. Carat is vaguely clean, musky and bland.

really dislike this, I was gifted a brand new full bottle of this by a friend. first spray, it is extremely overpowering smell and not in a good way. Id say this smells like a pear that is extremely off. when the green notes are smelt, it smells like sitting in a field but extremely strong. also, I found it made me feel nauseous. really do not like this, but could be as I prefer a vanilla note in all perfumes. buy this if you want people to remember you, but not in a good way.

Carat is, fittingly, a bright, sparkling green floral. Its radiance is achieved without aldehydes, which is impressive. It is a light, fresh floral bouquet infused with fruity sweetness and with a dewy green undertone. Carat opens with a fresh green accord, dewy and sap-like. Realistic, juicy pear adds aquatic fruity sweetness. Sheer and refreshing, it forms the perfect backdrop for the floral accord that follows. A heady hyacinth note leads the way, a flower that really says springtime to me. Grassy narcissus follows, and clean white florals round it out. The lily note is a lovely inclusion here, light but realistic. The greenness adds a stem-like effect. As it develops further, the white florals become honeyed, giving a pollen-like effect. Powdery, shimmering mimosa enhances the effect beautifully here. It fades to a sweet, musky skin scent with the florals remaining until final fade. Sillage and longevity are moderate. A sophisticated springtime scent, this is fresh, floral femininity at its best. Elegant and beautifully crafted, this is an excellent everyday scent for warm weather. Another gem by the inimitable Mathilde Laurent. 4/5.

Most often I wear fragrances on my hair, so they stay for a long time and do not change. It was when I put "Carat" on my hair that I was able to (finally))) understand it. Watery green, really very similar to FERRAGAMO. And so, for me, this is a vintage fragrance. I think that sometimes, when you need a mood of peace, it will be optimal. Stays on hair for over 10 hours!

This is an epitomy of an early spring scent. Smells kind of fresh and clean, with some greenness to it. All very innocent and new, like the first flowers that start to bloom. There's nothing edgy, mature and innovative about it, but it's not juvenile or vintage by any means. If you're looking for a scent to match your floral dress, this is it.

As someone who likes her heavy hitters had been finding it hard to find a bridal appropriate fragrance for my wedding, until last week when I bought this just to try and honestly I think this is a really pretty cent. I wasn’t expecting myself to like it but it’s creamy it’s fluffy. It’s light and airy and I found it really classy. I will still continue my hunt for a bridal fragrance . But this is definitely one of the first ones I have come across that I thought ‘maybe I could wear this’

Gorgeous elegant classy floral with retro notes, but with a modern twist. Highly recommended for office and business wear or simply just for flowershoppy springtime bouquets lovers.

I was scared of green note because sometimes they are bit masculine on me, but this perfume is very feminine and soft. It’s sort of creamy soft green note with very soft semisweet bergamot and prominent mimosa (I’m surprised that mimosa is in the base, I can smell her whole time) I think pear helps smooth down whole opening. Hyacinth and mimosa are start of the show, dry down is beautiful too, very soft honeysuckle with ylang ( I don’t get any violet, which is good, but maybe it’s just masked by ylang)). It is easy to recognize majority of notes, but it is still very rounded and well blended, beautifully crafted. Reminds me of 90s fresh/flower perfumes.
