I basically blind bought this on FB Marketplace, 100 ml, 99% full, for $40 US, because of the bottle 😆 and a glance at the notes! It is purple personified. Bright, grapey, light in the sense that it hits high in the nose, and, yet, very much a violet fragrance. It is quite pretty and very feminine without being girlie. It feels cooling today in the height of summer. I don't get much of the base notes, but that's OK for what it is. Just lovely!

The opening smells like violets and the dry down is fancy laundry in the air. Up close it smells like a soapy rose with a hint of amber in the background. It projects and lasts really well. I love how it smells in the air.

It is a fragrance with a distinctly violet character. At first, it reminds me of Welch's grape soda, then the scent gradually unfolds into a soft violet accord. The citrus and ozonic notes create a sparkling, fizzy impression, almost like a carbonated drink, which is slowly veiled by powdery violet. The violet is beautifully powdery, giving the fragrance the aura of a mature, quiet woman. Yet it is far from simply demure—it has an unmistakably seductive charm.

Fresh spring garden scent, reminds me of smelling flower baskets on a sunny day. It’s sophisticated but also just really charming. Love it, one of my favorites.

I went looking for violet, but found lilac all the way. This smells crisp and fresh like the lilac bushes across the bike lane to my work. La Tosca translates the smells of my summer morning on my way to work. Light sillage and office-friendly. Wonderfully comforting and long-lasting in clothing. 8/10

I expected something silimar to Laviolette by Goutal but this is not bad just not what I've expected. It smells like those good italian/french soaps you find at marshalls/tj maxx. I Picture a Victorian woman who just took a shower

I fell in LOVE with this scent, receiving many compliments from stanger for its excellent style and sillage with non-invasive (trust me, I live in Thailand with extremely hot weather, and it is difficult to wear anything that suits the weather). The perfectly blended violet is the main ingredient of this modern floral chypre - fresh, clean, light, but long-lasting.

This smells like super fresh purple grapes and hard and abit translucent violet candy. The eucalyptus just makes this airy and minty/fresh. Love it!

I am so confused by this fragrance. I could have sworn there was a pepper note in here. Every so often I get a whiff from my skin and it's so ethereal, true violet (very whimsical) However when I smell my skin where I sprayed. There is a pungent animalic smell. So it's very confusing to me. I think it might be the eucalyptus giving a almost rotten green vibe. However projection and siliage is very good. I am not disappointed in this blind buy . Just confused lol

I wasn't sure what to expect with this one but in my opinion, it's a floral that slightly sweet and a bit musky. It protects really well on my skin so in my opinion, it has a brightness to it. I think it's an absolutely fabulous fragrance it lasts for hours on me and the hubby loves it as well. I recommend if you're looking for an elegant floral for the spring and summer. Side note: I initially only had the 1 ounce but went back for the 3.4 because I love it that much!

If you want to smell like a woodland fairy who resides next to a pond surrounded by white flowers and violets in the Springtime, this is your girl. It's so pretty!

Hi! Let me start by saying I really, really like this fragrance. However, I think my nose might be broken, because all I can smell is a green-leaning jasmine and tuberose—honestly, something very reminiscent of Curious by Britney Spears. I blind bought it hoping for a bold, loud violet—that magical “purple” note—but I can’t detect any at all. Do I regret it? Absolutely not. It’s genuinely beautiful. But if, like me, you’re specifically chasing that dreamy violet vibe, I’d recommend trying it first if you can.

A scent that combines camphor and patchouli with an ozonic touch. It is only suitable for the spring season. Longevity is around 8 hours, with a projection of about half a meter around you. Honestly, it’s not worth the price. If you really want to try it, go for a 30 ml only.

My friend said this smells like a grape juice box that’s been kept in the car 😭

I was looking for to add a floral perfume to my collection even tho I usually gravitate towards gourmand perfume. Floral tend to feel a bit too mature or flat to me, it becomes boring after awhile. But I didn’t expect to fall in love with this one! It is refreshing yet has a beautiful depth of subtle smokiness. The rose and patchouli blend v well, def won’t give you headache. Very feminine and effortlessly classy. Not to mention great projection as well!

Insolence without the guerlain’s dusty vintage dna

Unique enough but smth about the violet leaf is off putting to me

I’ve seen a lot of bad reviews about this perfume, yet I still bought it blindly and it didn’t disappoint me at all. What I get from it is a luxurious, ozonic floral scent. Every time I wear it, I feel like a violet bouquet placed in a crystal vase filled with clean, fresh spring water. Yes, I do smell detergent and soap in it, and it can come off a bit scratchy, but honestly, that’s what makes it work on my skin. It feels clean, elegant, and unique and I’m genuinely loving it on me.

I've owned and love a few offerings from Xerjoff. After much disappointment with "Quattro Pizzi," I found a great deal on "La Tosca." I've been on a mixed floral, primarily white floral bender lately. People describe La Tosca as a beast. I was almost afraid to try it on skin. Perhaps I am anosmic to many of the notes but upon applying La Tosca on skin (and my husband concurred) the fragrance is barely detectable. Maybe I purchased a bad bottle? I doubt it... Beast mode is very subjective, you think?!?! La Tosca opens as a pleasant, inoffensive, aquatic, watery, feminine-leaning fragrance with green violet nuances. I was fearful of experiencing a noxious, eucalyptus note. But I do not detect anything akin to eucalyptus as the fragrance develops. The dry down is a lovely, calming melange of powdery dusty violet, some amber, vanilla and lots of musk. To me, there's little patchouli in the base. La Tosca is nothing like I thought it would be. It's likable.

This is like sniffing a blooming bouquet of purple, white, and pink flowers through a slightly aquatic airiness with green stems. The florals are heady and candied sweet in the opening. This is the best part of the fragrance although the sweetness soon fades leaving a classic floral profile of violet and white flowers with a hint of aromatic touches that don't overwhelm in the way I was afraid of from other reviews. The florals remain dominant until it dries down to a metallic musk. This is the most underwhelming part of the fragrance. It is a whimsical fairy princess pretty girl grown up type of scent. If you enjoy Creed type of florals you would probably like this. It is bold, unapologetic, and not for those prone to headaches, allergies, etc. It was a risky blind buy but my experience is more positive than many of the reviews here so I'm satisfied to have her in my collection.

Fabric softener, screechy and loud. Scent profile I despise so no wonder I was appalled... I expected something like Insolence or Celeste judging strictly from the bottle, joke's on me

Анонім★★★★★

lovely, that's what's gotten me into perfumes in the first place unfortunately people my age don't seem to appreciate it, grannies do though thankfully - take that as you will it did have that very sharp, cold, green scent in the first few months, but after letting it marinate smells like a beautiful, photorealistic violet and is a beast - i counted each hour and it lasted for solid 14, got quite intimate after like 10 though

Анонім★★★★★

I had a hard time with the opening on this one in the beginning. I don't what is that reminds me of burnt toast. I've had it over a year now and it has really calmed down. It really is a beauty if you're looking for violet fragrances. The projection and sillage is dynamic. In the air it's everything. It's like grown up candy. Very pretty!

Анонім★★★★★

I think it’s the eucalyptus which puts me off. Something slightly a miss.

There is a habit I have noted amongst many fragrantica reviewers, and I wonder if I am alone in spotting it: leaving negative reviews of fragrances that lean heavily on a particular note because you don't like the note. I would like to warn anyone who is triggered by violets to maybe give the purple grande dame that is La Tosca a miss. You won't like her. Luckily, as with all mature women, she doesn't give a damn. Many years ago I pilfered thre occasional spray of my roommate's Poison, which I would layer with a weird dusty bottle of violet essential oil I found under the sink. From such unpromising ingredients was born a terrifyingly beautiful chimera that garnered me a veritable wave of compliments. I have been chasing that dragon for decades, often hopeful but always disappointed- until the day I met La Tosca. Listen, she's no shrinking violet. She's loud and opinionated and she wears her nature proudly on her sleeve. She is the kind of bright that requires sunglasses or even an eclipse viewer to safely perceive. She is musky and verdant and redolent of remembered lust and a fondness for mistakes. That eucalyptus lurks in the background, it wears you like the lingering sauna scent that never quite goes away no matter how many times you jump in the lake. Other reviewers have noted the grapey vibe La Tosca carries, and while I don't disagree exactly I would say it is closer to the smell of muscari crushed underfoot on a cool spring morning as you stumble home from yet another delightfully unwise assignation. Admittedly this review is awash in purple prose, but it is nothing less than what the purple lady deserves. I fucking love this fragrance. Edit: I wore La Tosca on my wedding day and it was positively enchanting. I couldn't smell what anybody else was wearing, thus avoiding my occasional fits of judgement about my friends and family's fragrance choices (I reserve the right to be annoyed by the continued existence of Mugler Angel. Don't come at me. I find it repulsive, like being licked on the face by a stranger in ugly shoes. It's a me problem)

This is such a loud perfume! It screams and rings.I liked it very much from the first try on the paper, but after applying it on me, I have got almost an anxiety. It is like tinnitus, but in your nose. I washed my t-shirt after applying this perfume and even after washing with detergent I still smell it :D

Анонім★★★★★

I liked it on a tester strip. Now, I’ve had this for a while and, I don’t know. Sometimes it’s nice, sometimes it’s too strong. I sometimes use it on my bedding and it’s nice. I’m confused about this one.

Анонім★★★★★

This was love at first sniff for me...however, I can understand the mixed reviews. It is very strong, very intense, very violet heavy to my nose. A little definitely goes a long way! It lasts a super long time and projects well. Definitely one to sample first.

Анонім★★★★★

The mixed reviews on this one are crazy. It's really interesting how different it appears to be for different people. I find this to be a 10/10 by all means. I could drown in it. It starts off as a violet/white flowers mix but then the white flower notes quiet down, and for a while the violet is dominant with a rich green background in which all of the listed notes blend perfectly. It is indeed very ozonic. Very smooth. The scent is incredibly harmonious and well crafted and even tho there is a dominant note of violets it doesn't stick out in an unpleasant way, it is very well complimented by everything else going on. After a while the clean, soft musk and amber start to be more apparent but the violet never disappears. I should also mention that it is very realistic. The sillage and longevity are great. Here in the northen mediterranean we have these forests with pines, oaks, moss and little flowers like violets and saffron and this scent really reminds me of walking around deep inside one of them.

Анонім★★★★★

I honestly think some of the reviews here are absolutely insane... You people either got a really bad batch or you were sold some sort of fake or clone or faulty sample. This perfume is literally a masterpiece, and while I do agree that we each have different taste, it is quite insane to say that this smells like mold or rotten flowers :( It is fresh, it is complex, it is extremely well blended, it transforms and projects and reveals new layers as time goes by. Personally, I cannot comprehend how this would not be a safe blind buy...
