Reminds me of swimming in a chlorinated pool in the summer while drinking lemonade. Smells exactly like silver mountain water. But cheaper and better performance. Buy this one. Fantastic! 9.2/10

I really wanted to like this, and my first impression was that it reminded me of a really lovely barbershop. It felt like a great part of a weekend grooming routine. Then a on my 2nd wear of my tester I was changing my baby's nappy and got exactly the same powdery, floral profile from her Pampers baby wipes. So that's that buzz killed for me now.

If you wanna smell like a strong detergent or hand soap this is the way to go

I have ordered a small vial to try this fragrance. Beautiful scent for a warm weather. Now, to a travel spray size and then decide if I am going for a bottle.

It opens with a smooth blend of sweet musk, bright grapefruit and soft rose. This is probably the first fragrance where I've experienced a rose and sweet grapefruit combination, with the citrus even reminding me of pineapple at times. It's clean, elegant, unisex and never becomes loud. It stays quite linear on my skin and doesn't last very long. Beautiful while it lasts, but I expected a more interesting drydown from a Casamorati fragrance

Honestly just a top tier perfume experience. Premium unboxing, beautiful artistry, strong performance and a beautiful scent. Definitely smells like SMW but a lot better, in both scent and performance Citrusy with a creamy sort of undertones 10/10

Feels like I'm in some hidden beaches with azure water and a delicate breeze making me forgot the heavy sun in Italy, lean feminine for some, but too good not to wear, 10/10

imagine the standard mens blue fragrance dna (Prada luna Rossa carbon for example), mixed with strong powdery accord, pretty nice overall.

Call me unsophisticated but this is at best like a nice shampoo.... It's giving L'Oreal Kids or Herbal Essences.

Had a decant. I've tried a decant of Mefisto Gentiluomo before this. Highly underrated perfume and imo better than a lot of hyper summer/ lavender perfumes. This felt like the standard lavender DNA vs the Gentilumo which had a more Irisy and Wet nature. I do get the aristocratic french guy vibes here. The grapefruit in the opening lasts for 30-40 minutes, but the lavender and rose combo is very prominent. The rose is more prominent here when compared to Gentiluomo. The dry down is stays the same, but turns to a nice laundry smell. Works very well in high heat too. Love it 8.2/10

Leave it to Xerjoff when it comes to fresh profiles. No one does better than them. That's all I have to say. It's actually cheaper than SMW in my country, while amping up the freshness and floral aspects of the DNA and being longer lasting as well as much more projecting.

I have ordered a decant of it after smelling it in a shop... because it was so similar to SMW which is my favourite scent profile of all time. If this is of my likes and the longevity and sillage are good enough for me then I will go full bottle with a couple of backups to make this my signature scent for the years to come.

beautiful scent. A lot more uplifting than SMW, and performs a bit better as well. A fantastic blend of citrus and florals that somehow doesn’t lean too feminine. Gentiluomo is a lot more floral IMO, but keeps some of the same fresh citrus. 9.2/10.

If you are looking for a SMW alternative this is not the one. this comes across too floral and does not present the same inky vibe in SMW. Every time I wear this, I wish I could have picked up CDN Sillage instead...

I love it. Super fresh. Suitable for daytime in the heat. This is pretty unisex. I have seen this compared to Creed SMW and I wholeheartedly disagree they share any similarities aside from their metallic quality. The metallic note doesn't appear in the same timeline per fragrance either, and with this scent it isn't always detectable. They do both share a musky sandalwood close-skin scent but their composition is very different. I would agree that fans of SMW would enjoy this fragrance, though. I have a decant but will absolutely be picking up a full bottle in the future. ------ Got a full bottle and have been wearing it over the past week. So delicious and the drydown has a salty muskiness that is so good.

I have a sample of this one too. Well... you can definitely smell the citrus and the rose even though I don't usually like rose scents, I think this one turned out pretty well. I don't think I need a full bottle of this; it feels a bit too designer-y for me. 10/7 not bad, but I can live without it.

I think Mefisto is less masculine-leaning than Gentiluomo. I know this is regarded as a male's perfume, but I feel this could be a great fresh scent for females also. This feel fresh but also elevating at the same time. It is if you are wearing a white linen shirt in a resort but you look very polished and lux. This just elevates everything. I find lavender note quite nice here, it is soft and not too masculine, while in Gentiluomo you can really feel it it is really distinctive. Very nice fresh scent

Xerjoff's Casamorati Mefisto 1888 is no where near a good pick-up. I originally traded this with a friend and I'm disappointed to say that I never should of made that deal. Although this review is very, very subjective and everyone perceives scents in their own ways, I would say this is a general statement. Casamorati Mefisto simply smells like a generic bar of soap. Nothing more. Nothing less. Cheap, generic, hotel soap. Who wants to walk around and smell like an old bar of soap, and to make it even worse, it doesn't even smell good! It smells like cheap, citrusy soap! Enraged with this pick up I now use it as a room freshener as no one wants to trade for it. What especially makes me ticked-off at myself is that I already own Silver Mountain Water by Creed which has a similar DNA(my own mistake for picking-up two, essentially identical, fragrances). Aside from the anger that followed with my epiphany of losing a trade with my friend and utterly getting scammed, there are some bright sides. This is honestly not a horrible fragrance in itself, especially if you are new to fresh scents. The profile is ultimately clean and defiantly soapy, but not in a harsh way. It opens off with a balance of citruses but molds into its infamous soap scent as it dries down. It lasts a decent amount of time and actually makes for a pleasant, clean skin scent. Overall, Casamorati Mefisto 1888 is defiantly not one of my favorites, and may actually be the worst fragrance in my collection. Its old, cheap, soapy scent generates a forcefield around its dimensions, making it an impossible reach besides for room freshening. For the price, it is an complete scam and I fully recommend anyone reading this to invest in any other fresh fragrance. Yet with all the downsides I may have listed, Casamorati Mefisto can serve as a good starting point for someone breaking into the fresh fragrance area as the price has been driven down ever since its release. So buy at your own risk, and if you dislike it as much as I do(I would hate it but see no reason to ever hate a fragrance), then just use it as a air freshener.

If smelling clean and inviting its your thing, this is it. In my journey in to perfumes and the perfumery world, i been true facets, after a rough beginning i finally arrived to appreciate good, intimate smelling aromas. With this one it was love at first sniff. Beautiful opening, citrusy , fresh, clean, intimate. The lavender gives it a lift much needed on fragrances that emulate the clean vibe for perfumes. I had the chance of smelling the flanker and i do appreciate the violet, to me, the original has a more alluring opening that makes it more refined in terms of composition. I'm not saying that gentiluomo its not, I'm just making a case saying that the og has a better opening. I recommend this for everyday use and office environments, places where you should not asphyxiate people with perfume. its charming from beginning to end. i get from this 6 - 7 hours with the first 2 being more diffusive, and the rest more intimate centred on the sandalwood. Great piece of work.

Into the drydown, the citrus fades almost entirely, leaving a clean, slightly sweet floral profile with a noticeable rosy quality, supported by a now smoother, less sharp musk and subtle woody undertones that remain in the background as the fragrance gradually fades. Overall, this is a clearly high-quality, clean and refined citrus-floral fragrance with a standout mid that smells especially nice and polished, though the sharper grapefruit edge in the opening may be slightly off-putting before it settles. It is also a tad more feminine than I would like. 7.5/10

The reason people are constantly comparing this to SMW says enough about how legendary SMW is. After owning a bottle of this I understand why people compare them. However, I would advise you to contemplate what you are hoping to get out of fragrances. No offence to the "unnamed perfumer"-- (probably C Carbonnel) Pierre Bourdon who created SMW is a master perfumer that for sure is, and will be named in history of perfumery. This is not on that same level. However, considering the state of the current SMW and its price point (although this one is not cheap either...) I can see why one would want this one over the Creed fragrance. If all you want is a "fresh" "nice" in a fragrance. Sure, this one is a good performer. But... the tea note, the layers of shades from green to purple_that comes from this black currant (which is a very though ingredient for a perfumer to pull off)_ and how it creates this coldness as it shifts. Which is stunning, and not discussed or mentioned enough. These shifts and layers creates this aura of serenity in SMW (at least the bottle that I have). That are just not there in mefisto. It feels like a print from template instead of a re-imagined fragrance. Every time I wear Mefisto I feel the urge to wear SMW so.... yeah when my bottle is gone I won't be replacing this.

This is one of the few fragrances I dont get any sort of noseblindness to, which is very surprising and welcomed. I get a naturalistic dose of bergamot, grapefruit, and florals that smells like an absolute 10/10 in the air. I get something lightly metallic and musky in the base grounding it. In the drydown, the musky metallic base comes out and I smell a distinct clean iris/rose combo. They are not heavy at all to my nose. I enjoy this most when I'm smelling the bubble around me instead of smelling it close up 9/10

Great fragrance, definitely one of the best spring/summer scent fresh better than SMW. Modern mens fresh fragrance.
