Clinique Happy

YAWN! Tested this at Ulta and wow. Literally unremarkable. These citrus heavy mens fragrances always smell the same to me.

This is the weakest frag I've ever purchased. Seriously thought I bought a fake but no, it's real and you can barely smell anything. An instant skin scent that last maybe 30 minutes. Don't waste your money on this. I threw it in the trash.

The reformulation definitely killed what this was unfortunately 😭

I am a woman and I wear this. It is a stunning fresh fragrance that is just what the name suggests. Happy. There is not a time when this doesn't make me happy. Doesn't help that this is the fragrance of my husband and I just stole it from him, and I am not even sorry for it. Masterpiece.

Very generic, no reason to wear. Ordered as a blind buy for cheap.

This is a safe and fresh scent. 10 sprays of this always gets me compliments within the first 2-3 hours, especially on hot days. You might get better longevity if you work in an office. Its cheap so just buy the big bottle and reapply around lunch time.

Incredibly boring and bland. Also, it disappears completely after just 2 hours of wearing. I like good citrusy smells for everyday wear, like Kenzo L’Eau, but this one is not worth even buying on sale.

This is a "happy" fragrance, fresh fizzy and some nice white florals in there (not used very often in masculine dnas but honestly that's a shame). This is cheap enough to have a bottle at home, at work and in the gym bag and honestly... Your going to need about 15 because performance is very poor. It's not a composition problem it's a citrus and volatile compound bomb. Its nice and you can find it as cheap as 15 pounds and for that..why not?

Very unique masculine scent There’s a creaminess, and a very distinct lack of that strong spice that you get with nearly majority of men’s scents. It’s quiet and alluring. To me it’s a creamy citrus with a sporty masculine edge. Think lemonade with ice cream.

Is it just me or does Happy for men kind of suck? The womans version was genius.. chemistry was great but this?? I get orange with a white musk?? WTF is in it that made so many men wear this back in the day?? Has to be the marketing. I bought it on sale last year because i love the box and the bottle and thought i'd give it a second chance but i never reach for it. This makes Versace PH look like Aventus.

Amazing citrus scent, too bad it lasts less than 30 minutes.

This fragrance lives up to its name. You can overspray it because it doesn’t last long and due to that you have to buy the biggest bottle they have available (preferably at a discounter). This is my favorite citrus scent of all time if anyone knows a frag close to it that last longer lmk

Bruh. Smells like bright citrus, public transport hand rails with a hint of wet dog. My girl wanted me to get this because she uses clinique happy hearts(it smells great on her) so i bought a decant of this to see if it's any good. It was... For like 2 seconds. Then it started to smell like public transport hand rails after rush hour. Maybe it's my skin chem but. That's what I'm getting. Didn't buy a bottle, gave away the rest of the decant. Oh, and performance wasn't good either.

This is 100% my go-to for any warm weather or sunny day. Fantastic morning/afternoon fragrance!

This is a classic and smells amazing. Everyone below me is either pretentious or stupid. It’s a great hot day scent for going OFO or hitting the beach (both cases I pulled compliments from random women). If you like seabreeze citrusy scents just pull the trigger it’s cheap and easy to wear.

Very faint smell. 4 sprays from a tester and I hardly smell it on me. Short hint of Allure Homme Sport at the beginning. The orange smell is not the bright, fresh orange peel smell but more the orange concentrate smell (the orange juice from the grocery store in cartons, or orange pulp). After an hour I have moments where I think I wear Allure Homme Sport but then realise I'm not: the backbone of AHS is not there, no dark vanilla, only orange. I smell like faint Fanta now. It's nice, but one-dimensional and doesn't last. Won't buy the full bottle. Edit 14/05/2026: I want to update my opinion. It smells stronger now somehow and very nice. It's like an orange version of Versace pour Homme.

Completely forgettable. Just a light, lemony fresh scent that kinda gives off cleaning product vibes. Easy pass. Could be the smell of a window or toilet cleaner. Longevity and projection are bad too 2/10

smells kind of unexpected with all the notes listed here. The best way I can describe this is at the start its just straight orange with a touch of spice and after about 30 minutes it starts to smell in what id describe as a baby but in a good way. It's a very intimate fragrance that id actually recommend but for a date night with your girlfriend where you guys will be close together, like watching a movie. It's capable but just cant perform well enough to justify it.

Bursts with orange-lemon aquatic freshness. Yes, it is super weak, but for the price you are getting a lively summer freshie safe for any super casual outing.

It smells like every other cheap drugstore fragrance, nothing unique, just a basic fresh cologne, with a slight dose of synthetic citrus at the beginning (but not as much as others say). It definitely smells like an old-school scent, which is reasonable, because it's from 1999. The scent alone is 6.5/10, but because it literally doesn't even last 30 minutes, I would rate it 4/10. Despite the name being Happy, for me it's a pretty sad fragrance, I wouldn't repurchase, even though it's pretty cheap.

Bitterly disappointed. My mother worked in a Debenhams department store during the 90s and early 2000s and a gym friend worked on the Clinique counter at the same time. I'd pop in occasionally and try different fragrances even though I wasn't interested in fragrance collecting back then. I never purchased Happy but I'm more than familiar with how it was back then. I've got a new bottle which I recently purchased out of nostalgic curiosity and it's ridiculously weak. I've spilled Tango pop on myself in the past and that's had superior projection and longevity. The blend doesn't matter if you can't smell it.

Clinique Happy was my signature scent for several years while I was living in Miami. It’s perfect for warm weather and carries a youthful, vibrant vibe. Clean, fresh, and fruity, it leans more toward the synthetic side, but in a way that is neither abrasive, harsh, nor headache-inducing. It’s very well crafted and genuinely pleasant. For a fragrance that’s often available at a low price from discounters or found in clearance and promotional sections at duty-free stores, it offers excellent value. What’s amusing is that, despite not being a “fancy” fragrance, it earned me a number of compliments. One in particular stood out: a female friend at a dance party told me I smelled amazing, noting that other men should wear fragrances of similar quality rather than the usual classic, overplayed male scents at parties. That was striking because, while simplistic and not luxurious, Clinique Happy works beautifully and, in its own way, feels unique compared to mainstream male bestsellers. As a side note, I teach social dance and often travel with guest instructors. On one occasion, I showed a small but carefully curated collection of my scents to a female guest instructor, letting her choose which fragrance she would like me to wear during our tours. Out of that selection, she chose Clinique Happy. That small gesture and her choice speak volumes about how pleasant and agreeable this fragrance truly is.

Smells great, more suited for the gym or warmer weather. I used to wear this to work and got many compliments but it was a dupe that is stronger. Skip this and get a dupe since this has 0 performance and costs more than the dupes. Would love to say its at least a 8/10 but due to it lasting 30 minutes max I would say its a 1/10. Sickening how much its been reformulated just get it from Dua.

Having been wearing and collecting fragrances for around 23 years now Happy For Men would have to be hands down one of the only fragrances I have went through multiple bottles of. It was my first actual designer cologne and I could never get enough of it. When I was young it was what I would ask for always as a birthday gift and as I got older I just started buying my own bottles. I know Happy extremely well from opening to mid to dry down as I’ve had so many years wearing it and my nose has trained on it so much. Unfortunately like most older fragrances this has been since slightly reformulated and just doesn’t smell quite as good as it use to and it definitely doesn’t perform as well as it used to either which is very saddening. It’s still a phenomenal fragrance though and in my opinion one of the best citrus/fresh fragrances ever created. It still holds up just fine today for the warm weather even though it was created 27 years ago. I’d highly recommend it for anyone looking for a heavier citrus orange, fresh, floral and slightly green fragrance. Inexpensive and evokes Happiness!

Happy perfume, easy to wear, generic, fruits, sweet and flowers the flower will remains at the end. Almost skin perfume very weak silage longevity is around 2 hours you need to keep spray. Overall for the price it is good fragrance.
