I dont think I have any words that are enough to describe this. This is how I imagine someone smelling after they've spent the entire weekend at a 5 star luxury spa hotel, and just got a full body massage treatment done. Skin glistening from rich milky lotions, flower tucked behind her ear. Its a beautiful woman eating rich cereal milk that has flower petals floating in it. This layers so beautifully with Ice(d), too. I was walking outside and thought someone was baking somewhere, because the cool evening air smelled so nice. Nope, it was actually me. This and Ice(d) were my easiest perfume buys ever, these two and Xerjoff Cruz Del Sur II are what I would recommend if you are a true lactonic lover. You wont be disappointed by these, but you may be disappointed with the original Milk expressive, which was comparable to an imaginary H&M unisex Mr. Neverheard perfume. It was almost sickening. Somewhat comparable to Lattafa Her Confession. But Milk Orchid? 100/5, would and will buy again <3
It starts off like a breezy summer scent, but quickly settles into a rich, lactonic, and woody dream. Despite the name, it’s not floral to my nose. Instead, I get heavy sandalwood, macadamia, and a cozy coconut that feels far more autumnal/wintery than tropical. It's mass-appealing, but a bit suffocating in high heat. Save this one for cool summer nights or, ideally, daytime wear in the winter!
right off the bat- GORGEOUS scent. very possibly my favorite ever. i liked the original commodity milk but wow is this everything i ever wanted in a perfume. it opens with coconut, which scared me at first a bit (i like coconut but not enough to wear it everyday and certainly not JUST coconut) but then you can really smell the juicy figs and almond blossomy notes. throughout it all there is a creamy undertone to everything. this perfume took me on a journey through the notes too, you could really smell all of them as it dried down on my skin. not only that, it projects! at the very end it dries into a sweet iced macadamia milk oat milky barista blend type of scent its so hard to explain. it would definitely pair well with l'occitaine almond body oil or any creamy lactonic vanillas. nonetheless, i'm obsessed. i will be wearing this daily and nightly for a very very long time.
It took a while to grow on me, but I ultimately ended up buying a full bottle. Smells like a body lotion except it’s on crack. It’s warm and sensual- maybe not the best option for summer. I don’t get any milk notes, but it definitely has a a very soothing composition.
opening is creamy sweet clean. a little fruity. clean note gets stronger in the dry down. maybe because i was wearing it in hot and humid weather, but it got very nauseating like a strong air freshener in a bathroom. really did not like by the end of the day.
I bought the travel spray from Sephora after enjoying the first sniff, but now after a few months I realize it is not for me. It's a nice scent, don't get me wrong, but it is so intimate and fades quickly from me that I can't even enjoy it for that much. :'(
I have all four milk variants in the tester vials by commodity, i am going to buy one of these but am testing out which version it's going to be. I use perfume by spraying one spray on my wrist and putting my wrists together (not rubbing, just dividing the liquid). Yesterday i used milk orchid, today i use milk -. Milk - feels comforting, not overly sweet and clearly has a milk tone to me. But i can't smell it while typing this on my phone, eventhough i just sprayed it and i am not wearing sleeves. It is thát intimate. I am not anosmic because i can smell it when holding my wrist closer to my face. To compare to milk orchid, which can be smelled across the room with the same way of applying. I actually had to wash it off this morning after applying yesterday morning (also one spray on the wrists). I like the smell of milk - more, but it's too intimate for me to buy because i don't want to have to overspray any perfume. Milk orchid is definitely femine to me, while milk - is unisex leaning feminine. I personally do think it is comparable to milk - in scent. Many reviews say it is completely different, but i clearly feel it is a younger sister out of the same scent family. Orchid is a lot sweeter and more coconut milk than sweet milk but theres definitely still a milk scent in there. Tomorrow i am going to use the normal milk version. I hope the regular milk will be more like milk - in scent but has more sillage (but less sillage than orchid has).
Milk Orchid is mediocre at best. Inoffensive and far from a bad fragrance, which is exactly my issue with it. It's a typical powdery/tropical/creamy fragrance that I have smelt a thousand times. The price tag...while not extreme, is surely not justified for such a basic run of the mill scent.
nice unoffensive floral, but not especially interesting
I wish this had more of a complex backbone; as it is, it's just too sweet, like an ever so slightly more advanced version of a vanilla body spray you'd wear in high school. On me, it's cloying. Someone else in my family tried it, however, and on them, it smells much more complex and mature; like all perfumes, clearly a body chemistry thing.
The opening is delicious, the coconut is very prominent at the beginning, and the atomizer is very good. This is a coconut perfume, very floral, nutty more creamy than lactonic (i think this is not a lactonic perfume IMO) and it has a woody base. I imagined it differently when I received it and tried it for the first time (like Blanch Bété or more gourmand or feminine scent). I like it, but it's not one of my favorites, even so, I'm happy to have it. In my opinion, it's super unisex. It reminds me somewhat of Vanilla Powder. My rating is 7.5/10
Let me start off by saying I love @perfumerism to death, but this one was meh. Nothing about it — from the price to the notes — was appealing. People were hyping this up like it's some 'one of a kind' fragrance, and it's just not. NEXT.
I luckily managed to get my hands on a 2ml sample of this and omg…i love it. It feels like a creamy and lactonic take on florals- slightly suffocating, but in a good way, as if someone soaked some orchids and peonies in some full fat milk and i put my face into it. Reminds me a lot of a really spenny and luxurious hair shampoo/conditioner. I will say it is a very polarising scent, I get why not many people like this or dont think it smells any different from the Commodity’s Milk DNA (this isnt something i disagree with tbh, but this feels like Milk’s elder sister who lives alone in a fancy modern flat with fresh flowers in a vase every week). After spraying i could still catch whiffs of it in the air for a while, and I didnt need to respray until a solid 6 hours since I first sprayed it it lingered another 7. Overall, very worth it but try and get it second hand if you want to avoid that price tag.
Smells very similar to the original “Milk” on my skin, heavily floral-leaning on fabrics however… Definitely a cozy, lactonic scent for me. Too close to the original “Milk” on my skin to justify a full bottle though :-(
Tested on my wrist at Sephora this morning. At first I thought, "Oh what a fun play on Milk+!" Then an hour later, it was all I could smell and it permeated my clothes somehow - though I only sprayed it on my wrist... Followed by hour 2 of switching between nausea and annoyance. It was incredibly strong. I washed my wrists with soap twice and it still hung on like a child who wants to use your phone to play games. Hour four, I used numerous alcohol wipes to try to remove the smell. I could taste it at this point. It fused with my senses and I was overwhelmed with MILK ORCHID IN MY SOUL. The alcohol wipes helped but now on hour five, it's still lingering in the background so I won't forget the mistake I made this morning.
AMBROXAN!! Ambroxan pina colada. Reminds me of a VS PINk body spray with palm trees on the bottle that I had about 10 years ago. This does not mean it smells cheap. I’m not a fan of ambroxan on me personally but if this sounds like your thing. Leans a little too masculine for me. I think it would smell good on a man.
synthetic, cloying AND boring at the same time the Commodity dna feels cheap. i hated the milk-, milk+, and this also. 1/10
so beautiful and creamy, i don’t get much floral
Bleurgh! I had really high hopes for this perfume but honestly it smells like so many other perfumes on the market right now. Overly sweet and a very cheap, synthetic drydown. Smells like a cheap coconut body spray you find in a supermarket. So relieved I didn't blind buy.
To me this smells like Limoncello LaCroix in the drydown (vanilla and lemon). Blind bought this in the small size and wish I read a review that mentioned this detail –I would've bought a bigger size. Similar fragrances that resemble only the drydown part of this fragrance: By Roise Jane - Lake, Le Monde Gourmand - 000, Tocca - Colette, minus the woody notes. So if you're a fan of those (like me), you'll like the sweet lemon linger of Milk Orchid. Also, I have tried almost every Commodity fragrance in the past and none of them work well for me.
Like all of the commodity line I wouldn’t recommend blind buying as its scents can be quite polarizing. This one is very warm and simple tho, great choice for any one who likes gourmand. I get way more milk and sugar in my skin than the floral, it’s almost overpowering. Very feminine scent, I’m a masc leaning girly so it’s not quite my style but I would enjoy this on someone else. I do agree with the other reviews saying it’s a very basic scent profile, but I think the longevity and silage is beyond what you would get from a B&BW body mist so that balances out the price. Overall great scent, smell it before buying and note that it is very feminine leaning despite being marketed as unisex. Also do not under any circumstances wear this in weather above 75 degrees
It’s pretty, but very different from the Milk DNA. The vanilla orchid + fig combo me of Vanilla Orchid from Precious Liquid
I hate to give a bad review because I like perfumerism, but this smells like a cheaper, more designer version of Milk. Like what they would come up with in a collab with Victorias Secret.
This would be perfect without the Magnolia screeching at me , taunting me . I could cry
I loved it at first , but the floral notes started to bother me . All I could think was this smells purple . Anyway you'd imagine purple flowers to smell like , I'm pretty sure we'd be thinking along the same lines . I can't put it into words. Overall , I love the creaminess . It smells divine , and aaaalmost smelled similar to Brown Girl Jane's "Dusk" which was tragically discontinued . Close , but no cigar ... cause of the purple .
This is nice! I can wear this, even though I’m not one for milky fragrances! I can’t tolerate the heavy musk in blanche bete and I used to own Lavandes Trianon, which was very milky and sweet, and I tried but couldn’t love it. I wonder if Lavandes Trianon was a fragrance Emma got to try? Anyway, back to this beauty. For me I would rather wear it in the spring and fall. I think it’s a bit much for summer. I have smelled this around, so it’s quite popular, and while it’s not cloying in the heat, I would prefer to wear it in mid range temperatures. A solid, well done fragrance.
It was okay. I got quite a bit of coconut at first spray but then it just became alcohol with a LOT of floral. Was slightly lactonic but like if you soaked flowers in milk and caught a whiff of the milk in passing. Mainly florals. The scent faded rather quickly on my skin as well.
It’s very perfumey. More floral than anything to my nose. The review that said it smells like Sephora feels accurate to me. It’s not exactly what I was expecting but I’m not mad. I got a travel size and am happy I did.
The scent is OK. I purchased a travel size because I wasn’t sure if I wanted the full bottle. I really wanted to love this. There was so much hype around this fragrance online and I also really love Perfumerism and her content. In one of her videos, she explained that this was a wedding scent. I was so excited to try milk orchid after hearing her mention that (although I know this wasn’t intended to be a wedding scent). Safe to say, I would not wear this as my wedding scent. Upon initial spray, my mind went immediately to Sephora. It smells like Sephora when you walk in the store. After letting it dry down a bit, it smells boring. Very lactonic with a hint of florals and caramel. I think maybe I’m just not into lactonics. I’ll continue to wear the travel size to see if my mind changes.
Didn't really live up to its hype tbh :( It just smells like every other gourmand with some florals.
