Royal Oud

Don't let the name fool you — this is a clean, elegant oud, not a heavy Middle Eastern one. Peppery, woody, and incredibly refined, it wears more like quiet luxury than a loud statement piece. My Fragnatium decant arrived quickly here in Europe, which made it easy to test before deciding on a full bottle.

This is so good. Dry woods (especially cedar) and vegetal green notes that last and project. Really enjoying it in the heat of Texas summer. Not at all oudy.

despite the name, the oud really takes a backseat in this fragrance, the cedar is very prominent and since cedar is one of favorite notes I find this incredible. its the perfect cedar freshie for fall but it could honestly be worn whenever because the oud is very light and wearable.

I have a 5ml decant. Super masculine and put together CEO vibes. The notes don’t do this fragrance justice. If you can you have to get your nose on this. Woody but fresh. Definitely no oud. Little powdery but manly. Stunning creed. 9/10

Not the normal notes that I have in most of my other fragrances that I would wear daily. However, for some reason I love this fragrance!

It smells like aniseed.

Old money in a bottle. Pure class and no offensive oud (if any?) This is one of my favourite Creeds without a doubt For people trying this... the drydown is wear the magic is .. the opening is zingy and punchy but the pink pepper and cedar blend makes it feel like a heavy spice scent ... as it drys down it turns into a beautiful, woody, vanillic, lightly powdered masterpiece There is a creamy aspect to the scent that makes it very smooth but also so unique. Im yet to find a fragrance that smells similar aside from FDB's oud rouge intense but that was clearly an inspiration of RO The performance is great on this one too - great sillage / scent trail and exceptional longevity. But dont expect to fill a room (I believe mine is a 2020 batch)

Why can’t creed make a strong perfume longevity and silage all their fragrances are weak compared to the price point I rather have a dupe for 50$ than 300$ weak performance overrated oud scent

Daddy’s home. This is a serious fragrance. It’s perfectly crafted and is excellent in cooler weather. It’s elegant without being overpowering. If someone only wanted a few fragrances to cover any need I could see this being one of them along with something like GIT and Aventus. It’s really good.

Smells like someone wearing a black suit smoked a cigarette.

I'm a woman and wear this. I bought 100 ml. It has a cigarette vibe. When i was sampling, i mentally categorized it as the cigarette one. Was looking at others from the men's line but I'm ultimately glad I went with this one. Oud Zarian was a bit too caramelized for me. What i like in oud, is it's dry, pastoral qualities (thanks to the commenter below for the new word, pastoral is apt here). For example, i love raw agarwood, so i don't mind if something is a bit dry barnyardy/hay/horsey. Anyways, this one is very good. It beat most of the line. I did try RPO, but it was very violety to me, which is fine but not the mood I was in.

in this fine perfume the Oud is much more subdued and plays more the role of a refined Wood addition which isn't to the detriment of the perfume at all. key-words here are Woody, Pastoral, Forestrial, a Chic and refined Gentlemen's perfume. it certainly has reminescences to Bois du Portugal, be it in their tenure to offer a precious elegance to the Gentlemen's Toiletries. there is a thoroughly clever instillment of Noble Notes here, all adding to the Regal Imposement of the perfume. Cedar, Sandelwood, Oud all give the perfume a sylvestrian shadow inbetween which it is a privilege to ponder. Angelica, Galbanum (both Umbelliferae, Plants with Parasol formed Flowers) with Pink pepper lend the perfume an Aromatic Allure. in Creeds I actually cán smell Citrus Fruits so the Sicilian Bergamot and Lemon give this perfume a Splashing Start. however it is done, with the microtweaking of Ingredients Julien Rasquinet succeeded to create an unforgettable and truly noble perfume.

This is not oud as you think, think of it as nickname “Royal Oud” very elegent it seams .. what ever they call it I swear this perfume will take you in very masterpiece full journey .. you’ll love it

This is a refined masterpiece, but it's more of a cedar/woody frag than oud, and it's for a mature group of guys. There's nothing I can add to the favorable comments below, so I won't try... 9.0/10.0

This is a very dry woody and peppery fragrance, it's a gentleman's scent. It's appropriate for professional settings, like the office or a board meeting. It's not loud in the traditional way that it's strong, think loud like wearing a suit. You look smart, and you smell the part. I think it works in all seasons too, apart from when it's very hot in the summer. It should be called Ceder Royale instead of Royal Oud. A masterpiece.

This is an ok fragrance from creed. To my nose it is more woody than Oudy.

Some fragrances announce themselves. This one simply arrives. The oud here isn't aggressive or medicinal the way lesser interpretations tend to be. It's refined — sitting alongside something woody and slightly creamy that makes the whole composition feel genuinely expensive rather than just priced that way. Royal Oud commands a premium for a reason. You smell it and you understand immediately why it rarely goes on sale. Words don't fully capture it. That's not a cliché — it's just accurate.

Collectyourdead... While i agree this is a great scent, well blended and versatile, etc. L'homme Ultime? Maybe you have your fragrances mixed up. Thats a fresh citrus and rose fragrance. This is velvety woods and spice. As someone who owns both, they are not close.

To the bad reviews, I wonder if we are evening smelling the same fragrance? Did you get a fake bottle, or was this poorly reformulated recently? What is the deal? This is an incredibly well-blended, versatile and smooth fresh-spicy scent. It reminds me of YSL L'Homme Ultime. It's fairly unisex & alludes nothing of oud to my nose, but nevertheless reminds me why Creed got to be so popular in the first place; this is extremely lovely.

This one is disgustingly harsh and overly pungent. The scent profile of this scent for me felt deeply polarizing as it smelled dusty and yucky. I do not recommend this fragrance to anyone who wants to smell good. Definitely an experiential scent, not meant to be worn publicly.

Very mature and masculine. Maybe too much.. definitely for older guys, like 40+. Smells like old dusty mansion with wooden furniture, kinda reminds me of my grandpa lol. Personally dont like it but I can see why some would.

As pointed out so many times, this is not an oud fragrance as one expects it to be - intense, projecting, and immediately recognisable. The opening is is fresh but spicy, and the woody notes become the most recognisable as the day goes on. Unlike others who find this to be quite musky, I find it to be more airy. The strengths of this fragrance are the longevity and sillage. It will last you all day with ease and others will acknowledge it. The airiness that I find means that I'm able to get good use out of it in the spring and expect to in the summer. The oud is very much an afterthought. Once it settles in you will be able to smell it in the background, but it is not the most prominent note. It does complete the fragrance however, and I struggle to imagine the smell without it being there. There are two somewhat minor downsides. The first is the price. I was gifted a 100ml bottle at Christmas but struggle to see myself buying it if I run out any time soon. If you fall in love with the scent and have the money though, it's probably worth the investment. The second is that the fragrance feels a bit diluted by its airiness. Despite being strong and lasting long, everything is filter through that airiness. 7.5/10 - refined and timeless, but a bit expensive.

My Godd! This is what i imagine Royalty smells like. A very sophisticated fragrance and at the same time it demands attention. I just love it.

A classic, elegant, nostalgic fragrance with a polished old-money feel. The prominent notes are pepper, angelica, cedar, sandalwood. The oud is very restrained and play it's role more as a subtle dark wood accent than a dominant oud note. In short it is a beautiful creamy balanced woody scent with a touch of sweetness to my nose.

Creed #11 - Please tell me this is oud! This is the last Creed sample i have and with it i conclude my quasi-discovery set and call it Good Game. I picked Royal Oud to be the last one over Centaurus because most of the Creed’s i’ve tested had a classic feel to them and i wanted to end things on that same note, thinking Royal Oud will be in the same vein whilst Centaurus is a modern release. Royal Oud felt like a “Home Run” to me because of the note of Oud. Despite owning plenty of perfumes with “Oud” in their names, im yet to encounter this note in a manner that is obvious and undoubtful. Time and time again i said that im nose-blind to it. Honestly, its not the fault of the perfumes because i’ve smelt plenty to realise the culprit is my nose. I challenged Creed’s Original Santal to “teach me” what Sandalwood is and in some ways it fell short because i still can’t put my finger...well...nose on the note. Royal Oud on the other hand? It has an Oud accord, and it showed it to me, atleast thats what i tell myself like a child arguing about the fact that Santa is real. Royal Oud is sharp, medicinal, alcoholic even. Gasoliney but not quiet, boozy-sharp but not quiet, herbal for sure tho. It must be the Oud, please let it be, for my sake. Maybe the angelica and galbanum are there too and add the herbal/medicinal facet but they cannot do it all on their own. Cedar might sharpen the overall composition aswell but once again...i choose to believe its not the only contributer eighter. It has to be the oud, allow me to believe! The scent eventually settles down into a mellow herbal accord with a whisper of mintyness and a woody background. In reality, maybe there’s no oud here. Not for me, not for anyone. Maybe it fooled me for a short while, but atleast the impression was fun while it lasted. Overall, Royal Oud is a standout-perfume and out of the 11 Creed’s i’ve smelt its easily in the top 5, perhaps even top 3 after Viking and Centaurus. I like it, but admitedly not enough to have it because for me to get a fragrance that commands a price like this, i have to drool over it. Im certain some will find their Holy Grail in it tho. As it happens with all the houses i get to sample, im trying to find the common thread among their creations and discover the theme of the house. Whenever i reach the last sample i like to reflect on that. With Creed, the most obvious thing to me is the quality of the scents. Blend quality is no longer the greatest benchmark by which i judge a house because most houses stepped up their game and with access to all the aromachemicals and stabilizers available now, its not the greatest “feat of strength” anymore. Quality slowly ends up being a “given thing”. With Creed tho, the quality feels different. It feels...upper class and aristocratic in a way and i felt that with Hermes perfumes aswell. It might be placebo on my side and Creed might not have the heritage it claims to have, but the way the house builds their fragrances does a good job to uphold that claim, wether its true or false.

Something about my skin seems to radiate green notes so to me this is just an elegant woody, green fragrance. It actually reminds me of some of the Zoologist ones - like a more wearable version of Rhinoceros or something like that. I think the people saying "there's no Oud here" are wrong, it's just not oud-forward. The oud is playing a much more supportive note. I don't mind this. The trick a lot of mainstream fragrances seem to fall back on when it comes to Oud is to just balance it out with something extremely sweet like cherry and hope for the best. Think of this instead as a balanced, green and woody fragrance that's probably more suitable for someone over the age of 30 at least. If you really want your stinky, animalic, cheesy, or whatever other intense oud that can be weirdly addicting then maybe look elsewhere, but this really is a nice scent.

Too boring for my tastes, good yes yes, but does not tickle my fancy. Way way over priced for what you get. Creed makes poor performing fragrances that cost a fortune. I returned my bottle with no regrets. If your going to spend $500, you would be much better off getting something from Roja Dove

Royal Oud is not a bad fragrance per se yet it might initially feel like one due to the expectations the name sets. The opening is dominated by fresh-herbal mix of Angelica and Galbanum, the latter being the predominant of the two, accompanied by a very subtle spiciness of the pink pepper. The dry down then moves towards a more calm, warm yet fresh, woody aura. The name giving note however, the Oud, is unfortunately nowhere to be found, at least not by my nose. Calling the fragrance something like perhaps "Royal Garden", "English Garden", or anything similar, would've been more accurate but you will not find the Oud you're looking for with this one. Other than that it's good for what it actually is. [Not blind buy safe]

Beautifully crafted vetiver citrus foward fragrance. Oud not really noticeable but possibly in the background in a light elemental way. This smells of class and reminds me of the style of Christian Dior Eau Sauvage. This can be dressed up formal or dressed down at anytime of the year but spring summer and autumn is where it will shine. My bottle is about 3 years old and performance is excellent with a strong push from your body for at least 6 hours and reduces over that time slightly but remains noticeable for a good 10 hours or so. This is for a classy more mature 30+ age group. Overall if you enjoy a denser citrus fragrance that makes you feel like a millionaire this is it ✔️💯
