Tendre Poison

This has the og spices but overall is more soapy. Still tuberose based which I love, still very much Poison, but for the morning.

A green tinged vintage white floral honey scent. The white floral part has a clear tuberose and orange blossom presence, wrapped in a layer of honeyed sweetness. But the sweetness is not the light, airy kind found in many fruity florals. It has a certain density. The drydown carries the powderiness, woody tone, and creamy sweetness often found in older perfumes. On skin, it becomes a slightly vintage white floral sweetness.

I have to say, I'm surprised by the overwhelming comparisons to Cabotine. I guess Tendre Poison does share some of its character, but one is not a substitute for the other (unfortunately). I was nervous about blind-buying TP since I already own Cabotine EdT & EdP, worrying it would be an expensive redudancy, but they are cousins not twins. Tendre Poison opens very quietly, then blooms to create a soft white floral aura infused with a touch of pleasantly bitter asafoetida, layered with beautifully subtle and watery green vegetation. Cabotine has a lot more going on with its coriander, plum, and cassis, expanding on the theme and cranking up the tuberose. Both beautiful perfumes, but Tendre Poison speaks softly where Cabotine shouts gaily.

If elves wore a perfume, this would be it. The elves of ancient forests, the ones who walk barefoot on damp moss, who know the names of the plants that heal… and those that kill. It's a fresh green floral, very lightly powdered, with an immense, honeyed galbanum. The floral heart is elegant yet strange, almost narcotic - tuberose, freesia, orange blossom, all passed through a green filter. This Tendre Poison evokes something both very pure and a little unsettling. A green sap, a living green, almost medicinal, almost toxic. It feels ancient, vegetal, ambiguous, slightly eerie, and faintly sensual too, with its woody and vanilla undertones. It's a perfume that's pure without being innocent, soft without being kind. And honestly? There are very few perfumes that give me that feeling. It fully deserved its place in the Poison line, with that little something that made it unique. What a shame it was discontinued...

A deeply personal perfume for me, so take my bias as you will. When I was dating my husband, we would write letters to each other, and I sprayed this perfume on the paper. This is very feminine, very floral, and for me, extremely nostalgic. It has a baby powder quality without knocking you on the head with Johnson & Johnson. This is the final word on feminine, delicate, angelic beauty in a bottle. A little goes a long way. This is a spray, delay, and walk away application. I wish they would bring it back. I have a quarter of the bottle left and I'm keeping it as one would a museum piece.

I am an avid perfume collector like many of us on this site...and I stumbled upon an unopened gift set of Tendre Poison at a thrift shop. I thought I was dreaming. Keep in mind the original tag on it was $45.00 from a high-end retail store, at least 2 decades ago. It is in a beautiful red Christian Dior satin box, with a matching lotion. (I miss when high end fragrances didn't cost a small fortune!) Either way, I paid $120 usd for this gem, because I had never smelled it personally, but have heard of it's lore. I have the OG Poison, Hypnotic Poison, Pure Poison, and Poison girl. I am only missing Midnight Poison to complete my collection...and I will find her! Anyway, I got it home and could not open it fast enough. I sprayed the beautiful liquid in the chartreuse bottle on my left wrist, and inhaled. I was astonished. How did they discontinue this one?! This one is beautiful and sweet. My first thought was a mix between Pure Poison and OG Poison. My husband called me and said he was on his way home, and starving. I ran up to the store that is around the corner and grabbed a few things for dinner. While I was checking out, a guy came up behind me and said you smell so good! You left your scent way back there and I had to follow it to see who it belonged to. I laughed and said thank you, took my groceries and headed out. How could one wrist spray lead a random man to literally follow his nose just to compliment my "scent"?! I wear lots of perfumes, changing daily based on my mood/vibe. I got home, and asked my teenagers (15 Girl & 16 Boy) to smell my wrist and give me their feedback. They are scenthounds in their own right, and both have small collections of their own. Both said it smelled good, my daughter even threw in a "really" before her good. They don't love most perfumes/colognes. Shopping with them to find a new scent when they run out or are in need of a new vibe for a new season, is equivalent to scaling Everest. So I was again taken aback to get positive feedback from BOTH of them! My husband just had sinus surgery, so unfortunately he can't chime in, because he hasn't had any sense of smell for a month now. This one has me pondering, studying even. I thought I was going to be encountering a new Poison beast, the opposite of it's powerhouse mother, the OG. And that is both true, and false all at the same time. Tendre smells like OG's daughter doing yoga, instead of pursuing MMA, like her mom. It is the same, but so different and calm. All the notes are there, but a little more soapy, a little more green. There are no distinct "green notes" but it feels more out doorsy or something. The initial spray reminds me of Pure Poison in her delicate floral quality, the dry down though is more OG than delicate. I need more time and experimentation with her, but it's definitely good. I can't tell if Pure Poison is better or not quite as good, they are definitely sisters, but not quite twins. Hypnotic Poison is wonderful in her own Playdoh-esqe, free-spirited nymphette way, not very similar to either of these, more of a "hot cousin" of the family. Poison Girl, is almost exclusively raw honey to my olfactory. She is definitely the youngest of the bunch, but still sexy and attention getting, with the slightest glimmer of her OG grandma. OG Poison is the strongest and most powerful, sometimes headache inducing, but beautiful in her own way. She is a very rare wear for me. I prefer my projection to be closer to me, usually no more than an arms length, or faint trace as I walk by. OG is a 50 yard line on me, and that is legitimately only slight exaggeration!! Tendre is still a riddle I have to solve...but then again, I have always enjoyed a good mystery! I would recommend giving it a shot if you find her, and ONLY if you like OG or Pure. If you're not a fan of those 2, but only like Hypnotic or Girl, you may way to sit this one out.

I was able to get a half full 30 ml bottle of this :) I am a fan of both OG Poison and its new reformulation, so I was very curious about Tendre Poison since it's supposed to be the opposite of Poison. I kinda see it... It lasts just as long and projects just as far but the scent itself is a milder tuberose with honey, and there is also something green lurking behind... Not sure what it is, but if OG Poison smells like a direct assault (I mean it as a compliment), then Tendre Poison is a hidden threat behind a polite face.

I am quite surprised by how much this smells like the OG Poison, considering it was marketed as being its antithesis. OG Poison can be roughly described as smelling like Tuberose dipped in Grape Syrup. This can be said to smell like Tuberose dipped in Honey. It is every bit as strong and "heady" as the original Poison, as well. I was expecting something light, airy, and "grassy"-green. I will at least say that it is sweeter. It does oddly dry down to a "fresh laundry set outside to dry on a drizzly day" kind of scent. I normally hate "fresh" scents, but this isn't bad. The strong honey note does trigger a bit of a headache in a way that the notoriously "heavy" OG Poison never has. Overall though, I'm pleased that it maintains the general scent of the original--unlike the rest of the flankers--while still providing a distinctive twist.

Not a millimeter close to Cabotine or something else, sorry. Tendre Poison is unique. It was a real unique gem. Performance from my 1996 bottle is insane. I can feel it even in the next morning, after the shower. Magic 💚

My inner demons are always in fighting mode. One part of me is drawn to new and fashionable perfumes, while another insists on old, trusted, and cozy options. This time, as you may have noticed, the old-fashioned demons won. I prepared carefully for the purchase and decided to try a sample from the 2007–2008 collection. I could have chosen fragrances from the 90s, which are more common, but frankly, not many «living» specimens from that era have reached me. In the future, of course, I would like to compare them with earlier versions, but without unnecessary regrets about the money spent on it :) My first encounter with the fragrance wasn't very impressive. It reminded me of good soap from the 90s: lilies of the valley, greenery, and floral freshness. There were echoes of Eden by Cacharel, but this fragrance was more refined and softer, which justified its name. By the end of the second millilitre, I had fallen in love with it and purchased a bottle, giving it to myself for February 14th. In the bottle, the fragrance seemed even more appealing: during parallel testing, I noticed that some notes in the sample were damaged, but if it weren't for the original, I wouldn't have understood that. My liquid turned out to be clear, while another girl's was dark yellow. But these are minor details, not so important. I won't call this fragrance retro or anything similar — it's musk, white flowers, delicate honey, and the delightful gentle trail I've been looking for in modern Chanel perfumes. As the salesperson rightly noted, if you apply the fragrance to clothing or a shawl, its «sound» becomes even more charming. The only thing that saddens me is that I didn't know about it in the 90s and 2000s. Every time I apply it, I think about that. :) In general, each of the Poisons is unique — and I think everyone will agree with me on this :) UPD — It's identical to the modern version of Poison. I don't remember the old one.

Tendre Poison is one of my top five of all time!! I wore it since its release. But come the early 2000s, I was living on my own in an expensive city and didn’t have the funds for pricey perfumes. If it wasn’t on the sale rack at TJ Maxx, I couldn’t afford it (although I did find some gems that way). Once I became more established, I decided to go purchase my old favorite only to find it’s been discontinued. I heard Cabotine was very similar so I tried it. Although it is similar and I really like that fragrance, it just missed the mark capturing that Dior magic. I then purchased the divian dupe. It’s closer in my opinion, but still didnt quite hit the mark. Tendre poison is just unmatched. Nothing can touch her! So, I had to hunt down a vintage bottle. It’s always a risk, there’s many fakes or you don’t know how it’s been stored, but I had to do it! I spent a ridiculous amount of money on her, cross checked batch codes but I finally have my baby home with me again! 💚💚💚 And she still smells incredible! I only use her on special occasions and I try not to think about the fact that one day, there will be no more vintage bottles left in the world to buy. Dior, please bring this back!!!

This was one of the first fragrances asked my parents to get me for Christmas. That was mid 90s and I was 13-14 years old. I can’t remember much of the fragrance but I remember that I really loved it and it made me feel wonderful whenever I spritzed it on me. Years later, whilst looking for a new fragrance as a grown woman in her early thirties I looked for it and found out it was discontinued :( I really wish they would consider relaunching this. I truly want to try it again and travel back in time.

If my college chemistry lab was a woman, she’d be wearing this. Very intimidating but just as attractive, I find a lot of similarity to Chanel no 19 in terms of maturity and femininity. To me this has the same uniqueness and it has the same crisp feeling as no 19 in the opening, then after 10 minutes the tuberose and honey open up and it starts to remind me of Chanel Beige. My favorite among the poisons so far.

My wallet and I are both chagrined to find out that Tendre Poison not only lives up to the hype, it exceeds it. Very smooth and well balanced. Cabotine wishes. Woody springtime in a bottle.

Finally I was able to get my hands on a miniature of Tendre Poison. It's very comforting and indeed tender. I don't get any dark, toxic, witchy vibe at all. It smells innocent, motherly. The scent of a kindergarden teacher. Something about this reminds me of my childhood. The green notes are only present in the opening. Then it gets very creamy and musky. My mother's face creams smelled like this version of Poison.

This is my mom's favourite and I understand why. It's feminine without being sweet, just clean and classic. I love the smell of it still, the tiny amount she has left before it got discontinued is probably going to be a family heirloom. Bring it back!

Smells soapy on me. Not sure what notes are causing that? But I like it. Soapy and green.

Smelled Cabotine Gres, Smelled Romance Rasasi, smelled shadha al-rehab and finally... Welcome home my childhood memory, Tendre Poison. Those are sisters for the Tendre Poison for those who are "on budget" or too difficult to find the real one. i love Poison series that much and Tendre can be quite nice for such a greeny-tuberose and kinda animalic in someway. mysterious but not dark as Poison, can be both fresh and warm in some way, a spring in a bottle and induce nostalgic feeling of the era where perfumes were so enticing and strong. it is such a treasure.

I finally had the chance to try this for a few evenings in a row, after finding a couple samples. Wow, the opening for this one is strong-- almost to the point of distraction. This is probably the asafoetida. I'm fairly sure I'm new to the note, or haven't smelled it often enough to recognize it until now. While it fades relatively quickly, it's difficult to ignore. For me, its a syrup and resin concoction that I feel someone is forcing me to smell before decidedly taking me out to the flower garden. A shame, considering the dry-down develops quite beautifully. After the first couple of minutes, the green notes soften and become more pleasant. I recognize the other notes as ones from or similar to notes in Lancôme's 'Poeme', so that's where I'm seeing some relevance, as Poeme is an all-time favorite of mine. However, Tendre is distinct with its green notes, and makes me think more of a humid sunset, where you're standing between the gated garden and a forest not far off. Everything is warm and fleeting in the summer wind, and you're left with just traces of what you might have fallen in love with. I may only be speaking for myself, or just a few others. Perhaps I'm one of the unlucky ones whose chemistry doesn't keep Tendre, unfortunately. Just as I wait to enjoy the remainder of the journey, poof-- gone in as little as a couple of hours, except for traces of musk to keep searching for on my wrist. Leaves me a bit perplexed and wondering what all the fuss is about for a discontinued composition. In spite of not falling in love with Tendre, I would say I'm appreciative that Tendre has helped me understand what I'm searching for in a perfect green signature for spring and summer. Update 2025: This one has grown on me, likely from a change in the seasons. This one is a spring scent through and through, and it’s finally singing now that winter is over. A forewarning to those who decide to snag this one— it’s a very selective scent. I honestly would still not invest in a full-sized bottle of this purely from how limited it can be, seasonally. Now that it’s spring, I can’t get enough of it. But if I’m correct, summer will hit and it will become nauseating again. It’s completely incompatible with autumn and winter. Unless you’re obsessed with this scent or are looking to keep it as a time capsule, it’s honestly not worth the hefty price tag some are claiming.

Tendre poison is absolute Perfection!! I Loathe floral perfumes, especially any type of white florals as they usually go through a pee stage with my personal skin chemistry. This is the ONLY floral perfume i have found to not smell of old lady. Im shocked as it leans heavy on them. I strangely pick up a Jasmine note that is not listed. My mums house has a tea terrace that is completely covered in climbing Jasmine that gets really strong and sweet in the evening if we're sitting out. Tendre poison makes me think of those fragrant breezy summer evenings Even though the florals are the standout it smells creamy, green and mysterious all at the same time. Its quite complex as it's fun and playful but also femine and dark. I purchased a vintage bottle because i decided to buy all of the Poison collection. Just opening the box i immediately got 1990s/2000s classic old smell that usually smells concentrated almost granny like... i rolled my eyes and thought thank goodness i got a small one. After applying it behind my ears, in my arm joints and my wrist with the stopper I got classic era perfume, until it warmed. I couldn't help myself keep going in for more. It warmed into a creamy jasmine smell but it has a dark mysterious touch that i can't describe... it's almost Evil! It smells like evil green tainted Jasmine bouquet. I LOVE IT!! I'm truly OBSESSED!! TP makes me feel femenine but seductive in the worst way LOL... like when ursula arrives in the darkness on the beach with the locket in the fog. Thats how it smells like a seductive beautiful woman that has bad intentions upon closer sniff... anywho!! Im so sad its like 250 to 380 euros a bottle becauase i would totally wear this often as its unique and different to the modern day florals. I wouldnt say its heavy. But i wouldn't say its light either!. It's oily and creamy! Very senuelle. I read a few comments about how Cabotine is very similar, i purchased one of those too but to me Cabotine is missing the Magic, the Elusive element that Tendre has. Just to be clear i usually despise anything blatantly Flowers so this is a ln absolute gem to me!

Tendre Poison is one of the first perfumes I fell in love with as a 20-something 20-odd years ago. When I found out it was being discontinued, I bought 2 backup 100ml bottles - one apple-shaped, one flat oval. Oddly enough, I cannot pick out the individual notes in this masterpiece. The scent as a whole brings to mind walking through a dark, mysterious forest with flowers and trees dappled by occasional sunlight. The overall effect is one of the most unique, sexiest and hypnotic scents I’ve ever worn. It never failed to get compliments from boyfriends, and now my husband. And I always feel quietly confident, timeless and gorgeous when wearing Tendre Poison. Tendre Poison would be my signature scent but for it being discontinued. So I only use it for special occasions, treasuring it like the treasure it is, but fully intending on using all of my supply before my time is up.

Finally got my hands on a vintage 100ml bottle of this gem! Wow! This is such a complex and unique fragrance. Nothing like the original Poison, but almost like the older sophisticated aunt of Pure Poison. It starts sharp and green (leaves and stems), then the florals and musk come into play. It’s bright, fresh, floral, musky, and a little powdery. Performance is 10/10 for an edt!

I LOVED this one! But of course discontinued as so many other of the best fragrences (imo) It was so tender just as the name sais. My sister had a small test bottle of it and i intended to buy a big bottle but never got around to it before it was just a memory. I always think of my sister when i see this one❤️

This is my review for the version in the flat oval bottle. I had high hopes for this, but this smelled vintage and musky. I am not sure which flower I'm picking up on--either tuberose or heliotrope, but it was so overwhelming in a mature way, bordering on it smelling like a sanitized public bathroom. I'm open to testing out the one in the apple bottle and am hoping it smells brighter, sparklier, more modern.

And here it is: the green apple bottle. I knew I wouldn't be blown away by the scent and prepared myself for this. It's a soft delicate scent, like most of the other Poisons. Almost as if it's a fake. I get a soapy scent, but not heavy. I get a little flower, a little sweet. I get a powdery scent, but just a little. It's a little of everything, but put together very well. A very comforting cosy lovely scent. And... it lasts and it lasts... for 2 days!!! Now that's Dior Poison! Now you know it's the real deal. I started with a like, but now it's love :-)

Eden Perfumes have just added this to their website. I got a 10ml sample. I can't really remember exactly how the OG smells tbh so can't say if it's bang on but all their others are. This is honeyed orange blossom and tuberose with an animalic, musky base. I'm absolutely loaded with cold so can't really smell anything properly so I'll have to test it again when I can but just thought I'd let people know since apparently the Divain version isn't great.
