I couldn’t get past the cat pee smell on me!

ladies, gentlemen, and ESPECIALLY everyone in between: this is a perfect white-suit, date night scent. vanilla, but not fruity or food-like. refined. it's a little bit strange on the opening, but that's honestly part of its charm. definitely not a safe blind buy, and not for everyone. perfect for fall or rainy days. not too warm, but warm enough; sort of detached and melancholic. absolutely ethereal. also, for those who know: something in the name hints at the demographic you should wear this around if you're looking for a long good time.

Smells pretty vintage. Opening smells a lot like cola in the opening. Not much vanilla. Can see why it’s been discontinued

I have recently become interested and appreciative of vanilla scents (used to be a hater) so have had to start a whole new collection just for this one note. I got a decant of Vanilla Diorama yesterday. This is intense. Borderline nauseating right now but maybe not in the winter. My controversial take, as someone who owns Guerlain Ambre Samar and uses Dior Spice Blend as a signature scent, this scent feels like the two had a baby and added some orange to open it up better. A spicy orangey Coca Cola. It’s really warm, it’s spicy, it’s boozy and and the color of the juice reflects the scent well. This isn’t your sweet bakery vanilla for sure. One more perfume that came to my mind is Cartier Declaration Parfum. Just add some boozy vanilla to that orange and spice scent.

I get mostly rum and dark, earthy chocolate, with vanilla in the background. It is boozy and intoxicating, like a glass of rum on a VIP party. I don't know why a bit more people thinks it leans feminine, but this is undeniably masculine to me due to the boozy chocolate notes. I also like that the chocolate here is nothing candy-like or cheap. It's even got a bit of a challenging earthiness to it, which makes this fragrance really interesting. It rightfully belongs to the niche category.

I can't really make up my mind on this one .. I'm stuck between loving the fact that it's a unique vanilla scent that's not cloyingly sweet and more a mature and elegant, warm and boozy vanilla .. slight bit resinous .. my issue is that it smells like sweat to me .. like someone sprayed vanilla to try and cover up being sweaty .. it has some funk to it (to me that is) .. it's also very subtle after dry down .. not the greatest performance for vanilla for it's price but the quality is insanely good .. that said .. waaaay too expensive. (The entire line.)

The ultimate grandma scent. No other words needed.

Most accurate description of this taken from @SW27: "It’s the sort of perfume a graceful older lady might apply with a crystal bulb atomiser at her dressing table on the Titanic." As other people have mentioned, I fail to see why this is hyped up as much as it is. Spice with some hints of vanilla and alcohol. On the dry down you do get given cacao mixed in with hints of vanilla with the spice taking more of a back seat. Not blind buy safe whatsoever, or for anyone under the age of 60. :D If you want the purest of pure sensual vanilla, check out Novae Vanilla by Atelier des Ors instead.

Smells like medicine and way too spicy and boozy, leans masculine, not my vibe

Not blindbuy safe. The only thing I smell is darkness and liquor.... no sweetness no roundness. Why is this popular???

Bought this as a small decant, so review only as good as the quality of the sample. It’s clearly elegant and high quality, but in a very old-fashioned French perfume sort of way. It’s the sort of perfume a graceful older lady might apply with a crystal bulb atomiser at her dressing table on the Titanic. Heavy patchouli gives it that really dated feel. Then she goes down to dinner, where strong brandy and Cointreau are being poured over a tarte Tatin from the silver dessert trolley! The vanilla is obviously there, but it never really stood out. It only starts to come into its own well into the dry-down, by which time there’s very little left of anything anyway. I didn’t think the longevity was particularly good, although that could easily be down to the integrity of the sample. I’m not for one second qualified to suggest it’s bad. And quite the opposite anyway, it’s clearly very high quality. But there’s no getting away from the fact that it’s unmistakably an old lady’s fine perfume. If you’re under 60, I doubt it’s for you.

It just smells horrible, was so disappointed as on line everyone is saying its amazing.

I bought this fragrance as a blind buy after seeing influencers rate it as their best vanilla fragrance or atleast in their top 5. After trying it on my skin I couldn’t get any vanilla at all until hours later when it was close to being a skin scent. For me it mainly smelt peppery and had a very dry incense smell. I sprayed it on my friend and when he wore it I could smell the vanilla a lot more so I’m assuming it’s just my skin as it smelt a lot better on him. Overall I understand why people like this fragrance it’s not a bad fragrance at all it just didn’t really agree with me.

Best vanilla I’ve ever smelled. Absolutely tremendous scent. Dunks on every other vanilla fragrance on the market like Vince Carter in the Olympics.

Very well blended, and I can still pick out each note. It's too unisex for my taste, and too dark/spicy for where I live. But I respect the quality of the creation.

Just tested this fragrance and it is stunning! It’s a boozy vanilla perfect for cooler weather. It is warm and cozy, mixed with sexy and mysterious! I wouldn’t say it’s a super unique profile, but still oh so good! The sandalwood and patch in the base give it a smidge of a leathery feel mixed with the spice of the cardamom. It isn’t your typical vanilla and definitely not a cupcake-y sweet gourmand. It is very smooth and sophisticated. Definitely unisex, and will smell amazing on anyone! I think it will mature to get even better. Anything vanilla gets even better and smoother as it ages. I’m not one that does a lot of layering, however , I do think this is a scent that would layer beautifully! This is a beauty and one I actually think is worth the price!

A fragrance with a classic feel. A powdery vanilla scent. A pleasant fragrance. 9/10

My favourite vanilla fragrance. The vanilla in this isn't overbearing and syrupy, instead it sits quietly, you know it's there but it doesn't need to shout. The vanilla, cacao and rum are blended perfectly. Doesn't lean too gourmand so it's the perfect gourmand.

Another spicy vanilla that pulls masculine on me :( kinda like Starlight by Xerjoff or Minuit et Demi. Both are cardamom/cinnamon forward fragrances to me rather than vanilla. I almost get no vanilla from Vanilla Diorama... First 2 hours is kinda unbearble with the spices and some waxy/leathery/saffrony note that kept lingering. Reminded me of old stuff. Then cacao appeared and patchouli and finally some vanilla in the drydown. Sniffing up close it's way too much but scenting the bubble from afar is kinda nice. I'm gonna give this sample to my boyfriend.

This is a moderate projector but lasts 24 HOURS on my skin. Smell is pretty vanilla forward with a touch of added spices and smoothness. So far this is my number 1 best vanilla. I really enjoy this and would totally get a full bottle if it was easier to pick up.

For the life of me, I cannot smell the vanilla portion of this fragrance until way late in the drydown. All I get is the orange, cardamom,warm spices and boozyness which makes it kind of strange. I certainly am not getting Grand Marnier soaked cake vibes as some have described. It's still very good but I also don't feel like I'm getting the full experience everyone else is. I can smell both ethyl-vanillin and natural vanillin in other fragrances, in extracts and in real beans easily, Guerlain vanillas being my go to cold weather scents so this just leaves me perplexed as to why this one is being called a vanilla scent or as far as “the greatest vanilla of all time” If i were to blind smell this, I would just call it a warm spicy woody fragrance with a boozy citrus opening and slight vanilla on drydown. Certainly not prominent enough to warrant vanilla in the namesake.

I recently purchased this fragrance and I can’t say anything bad about it. If you’re looking for a special occasion vanilla scent this would be perfect for you.

“Mmm, you smell good like ice cream and Play-doh” was the feedback I received from a 7 year old. Now, I can’t unsmell it.

Absolutely lovely fragrance that started my fragrance obsession. I love the opening, you can really smell the boozy orange and it actually stays on clothes forever with the top notes, while it settles to a much more gourmandy vanilla scent on skin, kinda like a very expensive pastry. While I understand why it would be classified as Autumn/Winter scent, in my opinion the drydown is just fine in summer, especially for cozy nights.

This is similar to OG Dolce Vita. Funny, considering Dior stripped Dolce Vita of many of its layers, while releasing a perfume with similar DNA with a much steeper price tag. How very Dior. Dissapointing, but not surprising.

The sandalwood-cardamom combo reminds me of Gris charnel extrait. It seems like BDK copied it a bit.

A delicious, borderline edible scent. Like a spicier, gourmand version of Dior’s Dolce Vita. I can smell a frankincense note at the base, along with a boozy, chocolatey middle note. I do feel that the formulation has changed along with the shrinking of bottle quantity. The depth of scent and longevity just doesn’t seem to be there with the more recent version, so I prefer to buy older formulas. I have purchased this scent many times and will do again!

Notes are not even close but this smells a bit like guerlain l'homme ideal edp.
