Do Son Eau de Toilette

Every summer in the south of France, I'm reminded just how perfectly the Do Son EdT handles the oppressive heat and humidity. It cuts through the sweat and stickiness like a cool breeze—an absolute remedy for that heavy, nauseated feeling.

I was in the market for a classic, pure jasmine scent and was deciding between Do Son and Olene. I ended up choosing Do Son, and overall it was a good purchase— it's a lovely summery fragrance! However, if you're looking for a classic, sweet jasmine scent, I'd recommend Olene. What ended up happening was that Do Son had the stronger opening and better sillage, but once both fragrances dried down, Do Son became noticeably sharper (and even migraine-inducing at times), whereas Olene retained its soft, natural jasmine scent profile. I still stop by the store to sample spray Olene whenever I get the chance. Neither fragrance has exceptional sillage or longevity (you'll probably want to reapply after about 4–6 hours if you want to leave a noticeable trail). Do Son isn't a bad perfume by any means, but I don't find it particularly special. It reminds me a lot of Gucci Bloom (duh- both are white florals built around tuberose). Considering Do Son costs roughly twice as much, I was hoping for something a bit more distinctive.

Almost identical to Gucci's Bloom, in my opinion. Sadly, it doesn't work for me, the white floral/tuberose scent can be overwhelming, especially if you're trying this after some of the greener Diptyque scents such as Philosykos or L'Ombre Dans L'Eau.

My first expensive niche perfume buy and I don't know what I was thinking. I might have had nose fatigue from sampling many scents that day in NYC. This is a linear white floral with a migraine-inducing sharpness. I love jasmine/tuberose in nature and on others. But this perfume single-handedly has put me off that note in perfumery for now.

I had the 50ml Do Son EDT, I just love the Jasmine scent out of it. I've tested the Do Son EDP as well, and the EDP is much longer and more powdery. Jasmine oooh Jasmine... you turn me on 🫠

Very beautiful and feminine floral musk.

Bought this after hearing someone compare this to the smell of a Molly Tea store, but heavier on the floral notes vs tea notes. I don't disagree. The supposed sea breeze and white floral combo this is advertised to have can certainly read jasmine bubble tea, but I bought lapsang extrait to layer this with because I want more of that jasmine tea scent. If you aren't a fan of white florals, keep away. Fortunately, I love them so it's still a win for me.

This is my mums fav perfume, it’s so nice and lasts forever lol, if she Sprays like one or two times the whole house smells like her but I’m Not complaining ngl, has something very soothing and calm about it

To my nose this one smells like summer jasmine and gardenia, not too sweet but not exactly as fresh as the actual flowers but pretty close. Has this "nose warming" sensation from the musk that gives it a very nice drydown. It is gentle and doesn't burn your eyebrows off.

Do Son just has too many rough edges to the tuberose accord that bring up whatever part of the scent is unpleasant to my nose. Over time, it becomes somewhat sickening to me. I have many other perfumes which include tuberose which handle the flower better, in my opinion. One of the purest, most lovely tuberose perfumes I have is the version of Tuberose by Elizabeth W., a California company who seems to be chronically overlooked. I'd wear the original Fracas before I'd wear Do Son. I'm happy that others can enjoy it.

ive always wanted a purely floral scent and this delivered. theres something so juicy and salivating with the way the jasmine, tuberose and orange blossom is blended in this perfume. on my skin, this blooms in waves. whenever i stay still for long periods of time, the scent disappears. but when i move or warm up or walk this just blooms softly without being screechy. theres also something very aquatic in this scent. to me it smells like wet jasmine flowers slowly drying after a brisk rain ikywim. and when i first tried it on my skin, it smelt burnt for some reason. idk why but it smelt like burnt, smokey bubblegum and i found it so weird that i bought this instantly.

Definitely white floral but i don't know, it just makes me so nauseous . Very much wanted to like this with everyone else seeming to love it

There’s a beautiful botanical garden near me that I have loved to visit since I was a child, and this perfume evokes that memory. It’s the feeling of walking into a conservatory and getting a whiff of all the nearby flowers.

Finished one bottle 3 years ago, bought it again as part of a Diptyque sampler set. Do not bother with this if you aren't a fan of jasmine or tuberose scents. On my first bottle it felt exciting and fresh and new, but after about 10-20 uses it starts feeling flat and generic (and both my bottles had the perfume turn yellow within a few months though I kept it in a cool cabinet).

Based on the notes, you would not necessarily call this a spectacularly unique creation at first glance, but somehow it is. There is something peculiar about it in practice. It is a very interesting jasmine–iris structure, and the musk is not just a background support — it is noticeable, forming a soft animalic aura around you (or me), so it won't just stay a clean white floral curtain. It's what makes it more texture and what makes it feel more alive than the notes suggest on paper. Tuberose is usually something I struggle with as well; I often find it too thick to be wearable for me personally. But here it is handled in a way that feels soft and integrated. I didn't mind it at all, even though I normally avoid it. Still, it is clearly a white floral composition, so all the usual associations with that category apply. I find it works better in cooler weather. On my skin it does not read as a bright spring white floral, but more muted, slightly weighted, and more atmospheric. In heat it can become a bit too much, but in cooler air it settles much better. The only real downside is performance. It is not particularly strong or long-lasting, so reapplication is part of the experience.

I much prefer the EdP to this (EdT). This is muddled mess of florals and musks. EdP is 10x classier

The notes do not lie—this fragrance is a white floral through and through, musky and powdery, and very much reminiscent of a traditional "perfume" scent. It was enough to give me a headache. Listen to the notes! It is what it says it is: a linear jasmine-tuberose scent. This one is unfortunately not for me, but my mother loves it. I gave my sample to her.

This is it folks. Summer in a bottle, the sweet headiness of orange blossom with tuberose underpinning it. You'll smell mysterious, a little exotic, expensive, gently sweet, young, headily floral. You won't give anyone a headache or have anything clinging to your clothes but you will get compliments. Layer the EDP and EDT to extend longevity, or get a wee bottle of the EDT to top up throughout the day. I associate it strongly with wearing a beautiful dress, walking through gardens, on summer trips with friends. For me, it's the one.

Got a sample from Diptyque with my purchase. I think it's their most boring perfume. It smells very simple. If you don't like white florals, don't buy. It smells like a funeral (not in the cool gothic way, more like a boring—everyone's got the same bouquet kind of way).

I blind bought this simply because I love Diptuque, and it was not a love at first smell. It was a like. It's floral heavy, and I'm more of a skin scent kinda girl. But recently I picked it up and something happened. It smelled like jasmine in full bloom, in my parents garden, in the evening, when it rained after a very warm day. It brings me so much joy in daily wear. Like bottled serotonin.

On me this smells like a more floral version of Giorgio Armani's My Way, with shorter longevity at 5-6hrs on my skin. For an EDT this is impressive. Super tuberose heavy (especially in the opening), with hints of white floral. Nothing too special at the price point, if you already have similar perfumes.

I bought this for my wedding because I wanted to dabble in the classic floral bride thing but don't actually really like floral fragrances and felt bored with a lot of the classic wedding perfume recommendations. Do Son did exactly what I wanted it to do - it's obviously very floral, but there's also something musky and almost salty to it, too, which made it work better for me. My wedding was in late April and I wore it by itself that day/through the rest of the spring; in the summer I like to layer it with orange blossom lotion. In terms of wearability - on first spray, I would have called this a daytime perfume, but the more I wear it, the more I feel like it works at night too. I'd say performance is generally medium, with moderate sillage and longevity both. Like most Diptyque fragrances, I wouldn't consider this blind-buy safe because it's a bit niche/specific. But it IS a really, really great choice if you're looking for a slightly edgier floral with good performance. It also comes in a hair mist and lotion if you want to try it out without committing to a full perfume!
