I was afraid the cedar note would make this smell masculine, but it is only there at first spray, then very light afterwards, supporting the other notes beautifully. This is mood lifter, office safe, and fresh.
I agree that this plays far out of its price league. It's clean, fresh, but also creamy and well balanced, sophisticated. Sillage is fairly strong, and it has good staying power. It has much more in common with Forever Elizabeth than anything else in this lineup. For me, that's a good thing. I recommend giving this a try if creamy florals appeal to you.
musky bubble bath with a little bit of lavender
I finally just gave in and made this my signature scent. When I walked by my husband wearing this he said that right there is the best one you have. ✨🌸🌹 I put it on last night after not wearing it for a week and I went dammmmmn this is good. It just feels like me. There’s something light and sparkly and Fairy💫🌈 like but also sensual and grounded- the cedar, which is the sparkle part. I can still smell this on me 7 to 8 hours later and the next day my clothes still smell like it. I also love light blue and this is similar, but it’s more unique and sensual in my opinion. A peach, peony and cedar symphony that floats on the air and casts its spell. I have a giant bottle and will be getting a back up. Carlos Benaim is the nose on this one! ✨layering notes: -Violet sandalwood oil (Mojave ghost dupe by sand & fog) Amazing. -Nemat Amber oil- gives sensual bohemian vibes
I love her so much. She is fresh and light. Too light. Lacking in longevity and projection. It sits close to the skin and turns into a skin scent within an hour on me. I spray heavily and layer with BBW warm brown sugar. I'm playing with layering options. It's only been a month and I'm half way through the bottle. Definitely a body mist. Not a true EDT. It's not fair to hate on the name of the fragrance because there aren't any violet notes. The reason behind the name is beautiful and makes it more special to me.
Fresh, crisp, and very Long-lasting which is surprising for a fresh scent that I consider summer-exclusive. I love it. The scent lasts for days on clothes.
My body chemistry [and the 60+ other people whom voted for it] makes this smell like D&G Light Blue, the original EDT as well as the slightly changed new version...I own all 3, and they are only subtly different as it now smells closer to the new LB EDT. It lasts for an eternity on me and is only overpowering when over spayed - 2 squints work for me. Great price, delightfully fresh, and in my case - a Lught Blue dupe.
I just received this today! Omg what a pleasant surprise. This is soft, fresh and feminine. I'm also getting a Turquatic MAC vibe! This is an instant love and easy reach!
so good i could drink it. just too fresh and pretty. timeless femme.
I’m wearing 16 sprays of this right now and how lavender isn’t a note in this confuses me. This to me smells how I imagine a sweater would smell like after using lavender dryer sheets and walking outside on a spring day and that scent wafting around you. Beautiful. Soft. Clean. Floral. Feminine. Easy blind buy? I don’t see why not! I can’t see this being very offensive to anyone. How long it lasts is yet to be determined. FUN FACT: As others below have stated this is actually a fragrance the actor Colin Farrell wears to remind him of Elizabeth Taylor he says personally. I love that. Sexy bastard.
I read that Colin Farrell wears this one! I find it fresh and crisp.
This smells exactly like Bath & Body Works Musk No. 2 on my skin. I wish the cedar wood in the base notes were something creamier. The cedar is heavy and reminds me of pulling a sweater out of a cedar chest. Sandalwood or even a powdery base notes like orris or heliotrope would have been divine!!
Gorgeous and fun to wear. Everything is well-blended and reads classy. Perfumey cedar note in this is outstanding. Peach is light, fresh and sheer. The whole composition is sheer but really projects on me. Powdery! Peony and rose are often an issue on my skin, but it's lovely start to finish.
Parfumul Meu Preferat de cand 2011, I love Elizabeth Taylor
I loved this when I tried it last winter. On a cold day with 1 spray it's a nice light scent. But it's now a warm spring day and I just tried to make a decant of this and the sprayer on the bottle is defective so it dripped everywhere and I have on about 10ml all over my hands and shirt and running down my arm and about another 10ml on the floor just to manage 1ml in a decant bottle and guess what? At this level I can detect a modern superamber which I hate and that chemical that makes the peony note is one that I don't like either. Violet Eyes only smelled good to me when I didn't have enough on to actually smell it. I ended up taking a shower and doing laundry to get the smell off of me and my shirt.
Violet Eyes seems like a chill alternate for mens fragrances such as Azzaro Visit for Men or Bright Visit, the aquatic one. And Explorer Platinum. The cedar. Violet Eyes is soft pink flowers and cedar. I like it. However it could use a bit more fruit or lift. Which would be a betrayal because surely Benaïm built this to mimic velvety peach skin. It's inspired by nature - a peach, rose/peony, and cedar blend. However it does not smell like the color violet. Carlos Benaïm is a pro so it would be fun to know what he had in mind. It's mysterious. I opened a new in sealed box bottle made over 3 years ago. I've read many reviews mentioning this is fresh and fruity. Maybe my bottle lost its verve sitting in a sealed box for three years? That would be a bit unusual but possible, sure. Update: I mixed this with Molinard Violette. Great!
Sweet Tarts ! Cedary Sweet tarts candy. Definitely a departure for the Elizabeth Taylor line. It's cedar, with , powdery sweet tarts candy . It's bright and vibrant. Just lovely ! It's similar to Light Blue because of the cedar. Only because of the cedar. There's no astringent citrus . Given that it's so affordable ( under $25 ) I think it's a safe blind buy.
This is a great affordable light fresh-fruity-floral. It's along the lines of Light Blue, Daisy (especially Daisy) and I Love Love. If you love these perfumes, or fragrances similar to those, you would most likely love this one! Perfect for Spring and Summer, but super fresh for Summer without being "beachy". The dry down is similar to Light Blue if LB also had a fruitiness to it.
Absolutely love this, it's just beautiful! So gorgeously blended and lovely, very feminine. Am I the only who does smell violets in this?
Elizabeth Taylor Violet Eyes, eau de parfum. Was developed and released in 2010. Sadly the world lost the fabulous Elizabeth Taylor in 2011. Carlos Benaim is the nose of this fabulous fragrance he also developed the original White Diamonds in 1991. Stays very close to the skin, sensual, very feminine, aquatic, white floral, sea & salt, as its an eau de parfum excellent value for money. I am a collector and own many Elizabeth Taylor fragrances. All are quality and long lasting. I love Violet Eyes. Very classy & romantic.
Having only tried White Diamonds previously, I wasn't too sure about whether I would like Violet Eyes or not, but having looked at the reviews and found it available at a very reasonable price, I took the plunge. Initially, I thought I had made a big mistake, as on initial spray it opened in a very similar way to WD - almost overwhelming, and with an old fashioned air to it (which I thought might be aldehydes), but it soon quietened down to an peppery peach scent. The peach then asserts itself, sweet and juicy, before being joined by a soft rose and jasmine. Now after five hours, the cedar wood is now prevailing, with a slight hint of the rose. This is seems to be an extraordinary scent, if it works for you, for the price. The bottle that I received is 150ml, so it will last an age - the bottle, by the way, is a pretty violet colour. I think that when I finally finish this bottle, I will be looking to buy again, as I love it.
She has an office job as a PA or bookkeeper or librarian or something like that. She's good at it and probably underpaid but she's not ambitious. She's carrying some sadness but not because she's single; something else. No-one really knows her story or quite likes to ask. She's intelligent, kind, warm and well-liked, but very private. She has classic tastes and a fondness for old fashioned things. Silk scarves and flowers on her desk. She has a few perfumes. An old dab-on of Chanel No 5 she inherited from an aunt, and a bottle of Eau de Rochas she bought on holiday. She doesn't wear them much. She has just one favourite. She wears Violet Eyes.
I love Eclat d'Arpege and that's why I purchased this perfume (one more blind purchase). Violet Eyes has nothing to do with Eclat d'Arpege, but is very, very similar to Lanvin's Rumeur 2. I still love it, though.
I wore it today, Beautiful feminine scent, very very classy, amazing for everyday wear not to strong lasts a good amount of time. Wonderful.
I wonder how Violet Eyes White Diamonds Elizabeth Taylor & Lustre White Diamonds Elizabeth Taylor compare to each other. I have White Diamonds Lustre & love it so much for it's modern & breezy light grape scent & is long lasting & works well in high heat of summer as well as springtime.
Without checking the notes I would've thought I'd see citruses listed. Opens hugely tart and fresh, then some subtly done florals. Dry down is softly woody with ambery musk. I love it; unique in my collection, cute bottle, & very unexpected for Taylor overall. p.s. I thought Eclat d'arpege would be similar, it's not. VE is so much better. More character.
Definitely the absolute best ET scent aside from the Whitw Diamonds Parfum and EDP.
Powdery, floral, cedar embrace. I found an old bottle my mom bought ages ago in her house and surprisingly liked it! I was hoping for actual violets, but I mostly get a peachy peony.
This is just beautiful. It may be a little strong for the first few minutes, but the dry down is so amazing!
This is an inoffensive, soft scent that initially gives 'light blue' citrus vibes but then evolves into a more rose-centred accord. The rose note is a bit dated and gives a nostalgic feel. It's nice enough but the sillage and longevity are quite low which is a bit disappointing.
