Diva is such a beautiful, elegant mature scent, it gives off similar vibes to Animale, Paloma, Aromatics Elixir, and even old Opium, but it’s more floral, you definitely need to give it time to settle down since it's a vintage powerhouse where a couple splashes from a distance is enough, but once it dries it gets super warm and cozy, and if you layer it lightly with a bit of tobacco or modern notes, it completely updates the whole vibe and becomes a unique signature. 🫶🏻

My blind buy has just arrived and at first sniff I'm finding Diva at best a stroppy little madam (worst scenario a nasty piece of work) who struts through the door with an unpleasant aldehydic blast before showering the room with shrill oak moss, bitter honey and very dirty patchouli. No beauty and no manners. This is no diva, this is Soir de Lune's country cousin, the one that no one talks about. Please tell me she needs time to settle. I had such high hopes.

I love some vintage fragrances but this one is not for me. I had really high hopes with this cheapie but it just disappointed me so badly ! The worst about it is the dry down, pure male barber splash! Not feminine at all, I imagine this was worn by Cruella de Ville!

Vintage aldehyde & honey gem. Well-balanced and classy, good value for money, too.

I was conflicted on if I should repurchase Magie Noire or buy Diva. I’ve been wanting a bottle of Coco for a few years now, and I remembered people saying this smelled like Coco…so I bought Diva. I just got this in the mail and hurriedly sprayed it on my hand. At first I thought it smelled just like Coco, but now all I smell is Magie Noire…and I couldn’t be happier.

I type what I feel off the hip, and what I feel is that this is Beautiful and every time I move Im taken in another direction. These are the kinds of frags I love ! This is a journey... it's vintage early 80s and sends me down an 80s scent totality. In other words, this scent seems to represent every popular scent from this time period. It's like it celebrates and pays homage to all ! ❤️💜🩵💛🤎🩶💛💚💙🩷❤️

Most recent formulation before the discontinuation: A HONEYED fragrance 🍯 Diva, a family member of Paloma, a close cousin Maybe, around the same age but with a more forgiving nature. Still very much a woman of the world with a time softened character, sparkling, elegant and rich, flaunting a decadent floral honeyd heart. Drying down velvety like powdered sugar, creamy and aromatic on my cool February skin, a sensual vintage hum, now languid but still a little playful. Diva has a precarious sweet spot, teetering ever so lightly on cloying but never tipping over. I would love to get my nose on a well preserved vintage.

A comparison of two Divas: a white-capped miniature from the 80s vs. a very recent spray bottle Interestingly, the new material does still list Evernia prunastri (true oakmoss) in the ingredients, ...is that a fraudulent error ...or is the current Diva stock that old? In any case, the miniature is old enough to have both real oakmoss and real civet. The two bottles are different. The new bottle is more aldehydic, in the opening, but that isn't much to brag about, as Diva's aldehydes are not her strong point. (If you want sublime aldehydes wear Chanel No. 5) While both bottles possess a fine polyfloral heart, the older bottle has a much richer and luxurious foundation of honey, oakmoss, and civet. In the drydown, the two editions do approach each other more closely, ..but the newer bottle never reaches the languorous depths of its elder. Though who knows, maybe the younger bottle just needs another forty years. Let me emphasize, the newer bottle is by no means 'bad'. I was wearing it alone recently, and was quite intrigued by its own complex charms, ...but all is relative, and some of these older vintage bottles are simply liquid gold.

So, I just received a mixed bag of various scents I purchased at auction. The bag was filled with a mix of samples and full sized bottles. I had no idea what was in it. This was one of them and it leaked all over the bag and all the other stuff in that bag so my entire house is filled with this scent now! And it is stroooong! I rubbed it in my skin and let me say it mellows beautifully, is incredibly classy and elegant in smaller doses! It is a vintage scent but very wearable today. A fragrance like this is not going out of style ever. It truly smells like a high end salon. Shampoos and other fragrances all melting together and creating a “I am a well maintained woman” vibe. I would say that 35+ would be a good age range for this fragrance. I read once that this was Sophia Lauren’s favorite scent and I can absolutely see this on her! She epitomizes elegance, beauty, and class, with a twist of fun. The scent itself reminds me of Capri for some reason. I like it very much!

A vintage Classic that is still wearable today. Elegant, sparkly, sweet floral. When I was a teenager this was what all the elegant trendy rich ladies around me wore. I was too young to wear it but I always loved the smell. Finally got my first bottle as a collector. The vintage advertising featured a lady in a white dress shaped exactly like the bottle. So gorgeous.

This is a soapy clean with a strong floral scent with a touch of 90's vibes. Classic like rich as grandma. You need to test this out for today's generation scent profiling. This is old yet class. Some may only appreciate.

Love, love, love It! I was just wandering into a store, spraying around some scents to pass some time, and this one had me instantly in love. It's the most old fashioned, vintage smelling chypre. The name is just what it smells like: a diva from the 1960s. I just love to take this gorgeous bottle and spray it on, feeling like a diva in her boudoir. Something about it is just SO comforting, almost motherly. It never fails to make me feel better after a long day. It's clean, yet so opulent and beautiful. I'm usually more into heavy, leathery, earthy chypres like cabochard, but this powdery marvel has made me fall in love! I love the sweetness of honey, it's something I rarely find in chypres, and it works so well in here. The flowers in here are delightful, the type of "slightly over ripe flowers" that vintage perfumery often features. Also, the bottle I purchased had evernia prunastri (oakmoss) listed in the ingredients, meaning it contains natural oakmoss. I really hope it never gets reformulated or discontinued, cause it was such a great find for just 30€ If you love old fashioned scents, this one truly is gorgeous.

This is luxurious, sensual, and oozes golden, oily persona out of the receiver pinholes of an old telephone, trickling warm down your arm as a throaty voice on the other end groans something lecherous in a foreign language. It has all the Cronenberg DNA of the ideal 1980s female chypre, doffing it's cap to Shalimar while the hot air of a passing subway train full of mugwumps and Canadian-accented gene editors blows up its skirt from underneath. It smells like Nicki Brand, from Videodrome, but it also smells like, Bill Lee from Naked Lunch. Like the best feminine chypres of the era, it could easily work on a man with the will to wield it. You guys need to start trying this. LISTEN TO ME! YOU PRICK. LISTEN! *holding your face tightly in my hands, while gritting my teeth a half centimeter from your eyelashes* All the serious femininity is burned in the first hour of wear. Have you even left home by then? There are masculine ouds that stay delicate for longer. The aldehydes are toyed with by the amberous, spicy, patchoulescent animalia until they are exhausted, like Christian Bale's Batman interrogating Heath Ledger's Joker. "There's nothing you can do with all your strength" *licks lips* What you are left with is a unisex sensuality that is owned by whichever gender wears it. And it lasts! And it projects! And it's sweet, but green. And it's dark, but honey-gold. It is erotic but not necessarily come hither. It is a sort of fleshy, sexual dialectic. Allow yourself to inhabit it, men. Women, get over your chocolate cake tiramisu cappuccino sandalwood vanillism and allow yourself to live a few days with something that smells old fashioned at first. If you keep smelling soap, it's because you don't know how to smell anymore after steeping in cacao and praline or trend-chasing scents too manically to spend time with any particular fragrance. Let yourself get used to something. And, at such an intensely modest price point, choose to get used to Diva. More approachable than Paloma Picasso. More affordable than Montana Parfum de Peau. And a 50 ml EDP will last you for a long time, considering how few sprays you'll need. Sexy and perfect. I will be wearing this regularly. Warmer than Paloma. Spicier than Montana. Incredible.

A woody rose powerhouse! I have a teeny vintage sample (80s). It's spicy but bright and very smooth. Great moss note, coriander and yes there's a bit of civet. So well blended! So enjoyable. I'd love to check out a more current formulation just to see the difference. I also want to try this side by side with Paloma...I remember that being much darker than Diva. Vintage and outstanding. ------------------------------------------------------- Update: Vintage vs. Current Formulation: I like the current formulation but it's a completely different perfume in the opening! Vintage is "Woody Rose". Current is "Soapy Coriander". They both eventually dry down to the same perfume to my nose, and they last all day on my arms. In a side by side, the vintage is much dirtier (because of the civet note of course). On a test strip, the vintage is harder to handle. (The civet is so pronounced!) For skin, the civet is an asset for the rose; the composition is deep and sweet. The current formulation has nothing dirty in it. It has an aldehydic fizz that's gentle and a good potent powdery facet. The current formulation still smells vintage but is very wearable reads much fresher.

Wonderful perfume but I didn't expect the drydown to be so sweet. I had to wash some of it off because of the honey sweetness. This sounds bad but is actually a good thing. In a world where expensive perfume is hardly noticeable after two hours, this one lingers and projects very well. There is no need to overspray (like I did).

Paloma Picasso meets Chanel Coco. Soapy, airy spices and velvety. Undoubtable vintage glamour.

Quite an old soapy smell. Strong opening. To me it smells like an old bar of soap, with some roses and jasmine. I'll try to layer it with something else. I don't think I could wear this on its own.

It gives a PUNCH of aldehydes in the opening! It almost scared me off at first - feels very perfumey, in that 60:s, 70:s kind of way, which made me dislike when people wore perfume, when I was a child. But thankfully, it soon calms down, and the result becomes a mostly lotiony, creamy and a little soapy, a little rosy fragrance. Quite nice, but be careful!! Do not overspray. I have to be in a nostalgic kind of mood, to wear this. But then: I like it.

Revisit Review: A super duper animalic opening! I don’t remember the exact notes, I’ll check later, but the ones I can identify are rose, carnation, oakmoss, and probably civet. Besides these, vintage perfumes usually have many more notes, but this is the main impression I get. It’s something that symbolizes a femme fatale, nostalgia, and power. Personally, I find it impossible not to love it!

Face powder left to warm in the sun. Red and gold jewelry. Mulled wine. An antique, tasseled velvet cushion.

Given the current climate of ifra regulations, marketing miasma, and less-than-memorable scents masquerading as masterpieces, sometimes one must meet pleasure exactly where it lies. This is to say, don't be put off by a low price- ratios of naturals to synthetic materials barely correlate with prices anyway! Diva is a highly enjoyable rosy wear with a rewarding civet-wood-sweet-honey-almost-incense dry down. Maybe too opulent for the office but I simply do not care !

Many years ago, I remember asking a woman what she was wearing and she said Paloma. I got a sample of this recently and my first thought was Paloma. It's odd, as that was one sniff over twenty years ago -I've tried hundreds of perfumes since. I hadn't read any reviews, so found it interesting that Diva reminded others of Paloma too. To me it is an almost soapy, but dry, animalic, and mossy, chypre. I was a little disappointed to find out that it's an old perfume, as I was hoping to discover someone making modern mainstream perfumes that I really like. This is a definite buy for me.

doesnt smell like paloma at all to me, the oakmoss and honey create this ultra cassis-like opening . the dry down on skin is nicer with musky notes and rose hints . more similar to dalistyle so i find interest in it but not much . reads as more aquatic to me personally

I have vintage splash and my reviews are accordingly. It has a very strong animalic start. The comments say urine/pee and I agree. This dirty state lasts for at least five minutes and compared to today's perfumes, it is quite difficult to get used to such a natural and real scent. Oakmoss and aldehydes, the favorites of the time, are also present in this fragrance. There is a patchouli note from the bottom to the middle, but it is not dominant. Rose and carnation are always present, giving the fragrance its classic floral tone. Aldehydes and animal notes are entangled. It's like one is trying to beat the other. While I wonder who will win the battle in the end, it ends in a draw. Very, very strong and long-lasting. Towards the end, the powdery notes came to the fore for me and the fragrance softened compared to the beginning. It falls into the nostalgic and femme fatale category.

I was looking for a more affordable alternative to my long term favourite scent by Floris London "Edwardian Bouquet", for the price has increased drastically since Floris has put Edwardian Bouquet in their Ledger Series. With "Diva" by Ungaro I have found a fantastic alternative! It does not smell the same completely, but to me it has a very similar effect: It radiates a sophisticated air of timeless elegance. It's well balanced composition of fresh aldehydes and spices, flowery middle notes and earthy-woody base evokes the same feelings in me as "Edwardian Bouquet" does. I feel confident but sensual, grown up and we'll put together in the best way and also express my romantic love for nostalgia and the glamour of eras gone by. I love how "Diva" dries down to powdery and woody notes without loosing it's flowery charm. I would not have dared to wear it in my youth, but now with 44 years of age, I'm confident wearing ladylike scents like this one.

I wanted to buy this for my mom and it was very difficult to decide if it's good or not or if it's worth it considering most reviews are written by women and they have nothing positive or worthy to say here: this is a masterpiece. Not only because it's so good but because it pretty much is the mother of Boss number 1 and Lapidus. if it's not and I'm wrong, tell me what other fragrances have used honey in this way. Wow. It's really good. So girls can't ever get excited about something? Wow, if this isn't on par with Antaeus then it's definitely at least better than Egoiste. No doubt. So Jacques Polge is also practically responsible for the use honey in the 80's. Too bad he spent the rest of his career making flankers for Allure(Even Bleu is an Allure flanker really) This is better than Coco by the way. The civet note in Coco is annoying and smells like Kouros. And I think this and Rives Gauche are Jacques Polge's best feminines. Interestingly neither are Chanel. Just blind buy this. It's good. Cuz I got this package I got just to compare Boss number one to lapidus before buying Lapidus. And now I'm sitting here thinking out of all these isn't Diva the best honey? Wow. This is good. Which makes me think how good Pour L'homme III is. Pour L'homme III ain't no Diva. And I confirm it's better than Coco and even more similar to each other than I thought.

Such a beautiful, classy perfume - Makes me feel sophisticated and rich! I was looking for something similar to Ysatis and Boucheron (my mother’s signature scents). I’ve always loved the DNA of 80s chypres and florientals, and this seemed like an affordable option to test. The first few times I tried this, I didn’t love it at all. However, after it’s settled for a month or so, and I’ve given it a few more tests, I’ve grown to absolutely love this perfume! I crave this perfume now- Whenever I spray it I can’t help but smell my wrists over and over. I know some people think that this is a perfume for a very mature woman, but I disagree! I’m 26 years old and to me this suits me perfectly- I think it actually smells surprisingly modern for a vintage. It’s clean, but sweet and has depth that modern perfumes lack. The top notes are definitely strong, and remind me a lot of Ysatis, but that’s why I like it. After a few minutes the rose and honey really starts to come through and it sweetens a lot in the dry down. It’s very feminine and a bit soapy without being too powdery. The longevity is insane, especially on clothes. This is very strong- I tend to only do 2 sprays max with this. One on the back of my neck and another small spray on my wrists. If you spray this on the front of your neck or chest it can almost make you sick.
