Escada Moon Sparkle

Around 2006/2007, I was shopping in a department store when I came across some brightly colored Escada perfumes. I tested maybe 1 or 2 and was drawn in quickly to fruity sweet scents I had never experienced in a perfume before. However, I am cheap, so I grabbed the mini dabber set of all 5: Rockin Rio, Island Kiss, Moon Sparkle, Pacific Paradise and Sunset Heat. I don't think I paid more than ~$30ish for the set. I became smitten with the tart, fruity scents. However since I am also stingy, I rarely used them and eventually stashed them away. Moon sparkle is a little more than half full and Rockin Rio more than 3/4 full...clearly liked them the most 🤣. I believe this to be one of the best Escada summer collections ever released. If you can snag a bottle of Moon Sparkle, go for it!

I am a huge fan of Escada summer scents that it is all I've worn for nearly 20 years!!! Moon Sparkle is one of my absolute favourite night time scent, it's different to the usual fresh fruity summer scents like Island Kiss or Taj Sunset that smell very daytime beach, but it's still so sweet only with stronger dark berry high notes, with a hint of spice making it my go to for night/evening events! It's such a sultry and sexy scent, I absolutely love it, nothing else compares.

This is an iconic tropical and youthful fragrance. I tested a dupe for this discontinued fragrance called Mira by Zuofun. Dead ringer for the original.

Too much heat brings out the tart sour smell. Around 70 degrees F it is sweet and yummy 😋 with my chemistry anyways.

Another one I bought a tiny tester bottle of one boring day... Very tropical. Straightforwardly sweet and fruity. Imagine a fruity shampoo scent. That's it.

Haven’t smelled this original but scenturion do an amazing inspired oil of this. Fun fruity sparkly

I sprayed midnight fantasy on one arm and this on the other and I was genuinely not able to smell the difference between the two. They smell nearly identical. Moon sparkle is slightly fizzier but smells 99.98% the same.

Light, bright, happy, fun and fruity! One of my favorite summer fragrances. I don't know why Escada would ever discontinue this either, but like Gemsense below, I also stay stocked up on the perfume oil! I've ordered from various places over the years and luckily they've all been consistently good. My last one was from Nature's Oil and I definitely recommend it! Their version of the Herbal Essence fragrance is also amazing.

One of the best most juiciest, succulent, mouthwatering scents ever made!!! To discontinue this fragrance was just plain stupid. I buy perfume oils if this and stay stocked up. Summer time is the best time to wear this one. It smells like unripened black currant in cool or cold weather but in the heat it’s in all its glory ❤️

Just a little review to share that Escada MOON SPARKLE smells very similar in my opinion to the following fragrances: - ED HARDY LOVE IS... Christian Audigier - SJP NYC Sarah Jessica Parker The main difference is that MOON SPARKLE is like a sweet bubbly fizzy blackberry and strawberry soda scent, whereas ED HARDY LOVE IS and SJP NYC are both sweet bubbly fizzy strawberry soda scents. MOON SPARKLE has more "purple" berries and fruits than the others. Fun, flirty, perfect for summer!

Absolutely fabulous: refreshing, bright and juicy with delicate of florals perfect for HOT summers on the west coast. lasts on my skin all day, one of the best sweet pea fruity freshies out there- the black currant adds so much sultry sweetness. totally addictive.

A lot of people seem to experience this fragrance as a weak one, while it lasts almost the whole day on my skin. I’m quite sad it got discontinued. (It’s important to know that every skin is unique and all)

Soooo NOSTALGIC my goodness brings me right back to 2007 😍😍 so many pretty young girls wore this in my small hometown It is bright happy fruity and very much late 2000s

They’ve gotta bring this back. I’ve only ever smelled an oil dupe version and I loved it a lot!

This was my first “grown up” perfume at age 15. One evening, I drenched my Juicy Couture velour hoodie with Moon Sparkle to sneak out of my house and traipse in the moonlight and to meet with a boy, the son of a famous wrestler. Despite our proximity as neighbors and his then enrollment into the high school I was attending, we never spoke again. I wore this perfume in excess as an attempt to garner his attention in our shared science class, positioning myself infront of the fan to see if I could evoke memories of the night we spent together. For many years this perfume reminded me of the embarrassment of the experiments of youth. Now, 15 years later, I realize that this scent is a metaphor for the experience. Sticky sweet fruit and flowers represent playful, bubbly naiveté white the notes of musky amber represent the foreboding undercurrent of rapidly approaching adulthood. What I would do to go back where my greatest hurdle in life was wooing a boy with a perfume my mom bought at the Macy’s counter.

I got this taken away from me at LaGuardia airport in 2008. Silly me for having it in my purse. I was probably too hungover to remember there is a limit for carry-on liquids. At least they let me keep my gigantic sunglasses. I hope the TSA agent took it home, put it on, and became a new woman. It is a sweeter scent than what I normally choose, but it was fun, I was in my hot-girl-summer party era, and it is called MOON SPARKLE. Also, my bestie was obsessed with Escada so I had to get on the bandwagon. She was more of an Ibiza Hippie. We are still each other’s perfect foil. That whole story is true, but if you want to know what kind of vibe this scent has, that is also it.

To me this does not live up to the hype. Retro red berries, but I think that the recent Escadas with a similar profile are a way better option than chasing down this one. Or the Kate Spade one with wild strawberries. Or Coach Love. This one got demoted to room spray, I am happy I got it really cheap at least.

I've had this for about a year. Used to be crazy about it at first but quickly got bored as it's just sweet and fruity without Any precis notes. After about a year I can smell some faint almost burnt notes? it's good for spraying before going to sleep but other than that it's very very mehh

Best dupe IMHO is Geparlys Sweet Sensation

I have not been able to smell the original Moonsparkle but I got the generic perfumes inspired by version today for under $20.00 and it seems to smell the same as how the notes are listed here. Fruity to the max. So this is for April Nicole. Get that one. You will not be disappointed.

I got a bottle of this for Christmas back in the early years of High School and I regret using it up so fast. Or at least keeping the bottle. I get nostalgic for this scent and it randomly pops in my head sometimes. I remember it smelling like grape syrup but in a good way! The bottle looked absolutely gorgeous on my dresser. I like some of the new summer editions and some are just alright but this is the one I truly miss.

This was so interesting I really couldn’t work it out. It smells inoffensive and likeable to most except also complex. I couldn’t work out what I was smelling at all and reading the notes here hasn’t helped as I still feel berries are what I’m picking up. It’s really likeable and I kept going in for a sniff, however the only downside was it gave me a slight headache when inside having just put it on, but that’s probably me using too much. Really nice and shame it’s not available anymore.

Berrylicious! Moon sparkle is such a youthful and happy scent. It’s mainly delicious black currant and strawberry. They manage to be fresh and tangy as well have the right amount of sweetness to work on a sweltering summer morning. My take on it is that it lacks depth in the mid and base notes, but it was a limited summer edition after all. It is linear and weak in performance, and thus a high quality body mist would be wiser financially to fill in this category, but again it’s a fun summer day fragrance. If you miss it explore Paris Amour, Be enchanted, Secret Wonderland (all BBW) for mornings and Midnight Fantasy (B.Spears) or Dark Kiss (BBW) for the nights. You might find something you like (they’re not duplicates but have similar vibes).

I love this perfume so much. This and Born in Paradise are my beloved escada's. It reminds me a bubble gum which I like very much, it is happy and perfect for spring and summer. I would love more longevity! I have back up bottles maybe it is my new signature? I really don't know. As much as I love Fracas which was my signature, I love This one also. So sad that they discontinued it or let me say it is an LTD for summer. 3/5 V

This is a lovely fruity floral that I wanted to love...and I do, however the longevity is almost nil on me. Big time bummer because it is a great scent for spring/summer and is what I would call a mood booster! I just wish I could get more than an hour wear.

Top note is a bit overwhelming for me because of the alcohol, but the drydown though, nice sweet fruity scent.
