Escentric 05

— I adore Molecule 05. It’s one of my all-time favourites, so I had high hopes for Escentric 05. On first application, it smells like a more complex, layered version of Molecule 05 — which makes sense — with that gorgeous Cashmeran woody, musky warmth running through it. Unfortunately, after an hour or so, the dry-down becomes really quite powdery on my skin, and I hate a powdery scent, so sadly this one is a no-go for me. I still absolutely adore Molecule 05 though. It’s such a gorgeously weird, woody, warm, slightly salty scent, and I much prefer the Cashmeran without all the extras. I’ll stick with Molecule 5 ❤️

Classy, refined, and surprisingly simple herbal profile for such a complex combination of notes. The bay, rosemary, and conifer needles are most evident to me, and I think I can pick out fig and cedar. Performs wonderfully in the heat and humidity of a Texas summer. This might become a regular in my hot-weather rotation. I like that it’s not a huge scent bubble. I don’t want to offend others. I want to enjoy it myself.

Pretty good, you’ve gotta spray this about 10-15 times for it to project okay and last a bit. Pretty weak stuff.

I blind bought it for a ridiculously low price and was afraid it would be far too masculine for me, based on reviews. However, it is perfectly unisex. You know these scents that are unisex in theory but in practice somehow too masculine for a woman and too feminine for a man? This is not such a case - it is perceived as absolutely masculine on a man, but on a woman still reveals soft edges of all the aromatic ingredients and smells great. Somehow it reminds me of my beloved Blackbird by Olympic Orchids, but without the fruit component. It's a bit like Blackbird and Encre Noire had a baby. No fougere vibes, it's definitely a modern scent. No bug spray vibes neither. Wonderfully classy perfume for the summer, 1000 levels up when compared to simple, cheerful citruses we tend to use during the hot days and we all love.

This perfume is SO GOOD! It’s my first Eccentric Molecules perfume, and I think it’s amazing. The opening is zesty, fruity, and bright. The opening reminds me of a lot of other lemon-limey perfumes like Light Blue, and Mac Turquatic. The mid and the dry down is SO GOOD I love it. I don’t know why some people complain about its strength. I think it’s very strong! It does NOT smell like bug spray like some people said, not at all. It smells like a really good, summer time perfume. It’s not masculine, it’s perfectly unisex.

Definitely woody, and spicy, with some citruses adding to the composition. Cypress and cashmeran are very pronounced in this. Unfortunately as it dries down it turns into a cashmeran bomb and I am not a fan of that note. If you like cashmeran, you will like this, for me it's a pass. Edit: ok in the dry down (2 hours) the cashmeran lessens and this becomes pleasant. I like my cashmeran with restraint.

Reminds me of being a summer camp counselor. We wore lots of bug spray and sunscreen, and walked through the city park where there were pine trees between the tennis courts and the public pool. I love it.

Quite a good scent but not for everyone. Relatively spicy, sharp scent. Pine, green leaves, wood, earth. That's pretty much what I smell. More of a masculine and not exactly summer scent.

I expected juniper, rosemary and cypress, something like a Mediterranean scrubland. Instead, I got hit with a sharp synthetic citrusy-fruity aroma, like an expensive anti-static spray. Which is probably a logical pairing with cashmeran, but right now I smell like I should've aired out my cashmere sweater before putting it on.

More citrusy than woody when spraying it, but it gets better. My ex has it, but although it is labeled as unisex I wouldn’t wear it - it leans on the masculine side imo. It’s pleasant, long lasting and the silage is great. It reminds me of Kenzo jungle for men. I don’t really get any summer vibes by it, it’s giving orange cake in a forest after rain (I edited the text bc we broke up)

If you know what cashmeran smells like (molecule 05) then this won’t surprise you. Warm, dry, woody and earthy. Here it’s accompanied by herbal notes, florals, citrus and lots of juniper, which might remind you of gin and tonic. It leans into the aromatic side of the cashmeran and has an interesting hot and cold kinda vibe but some might find it a bit too bitter and earthy. Overall it’s nice, safe and grownup, a textbook example of the minimalist, modern “science experiment” vibe you’d get from a company like Escentric Molecules, Byredo, Headspace or Le Labo, for better or for worse. Contrary to how it’s advertised, I wouldn’t wear this in the dead of summer, but I think it’s worth trying if you’re looking for something light that could still would work in chilly weather.

For me, this smells like a better version of Nishane B-612 mixed with a hint of Santal 33. Pleasant stuff.

Rather weak and quickly disappears on me, not woody at all. Imagine hard rock lemon candy that you are unable to chew and have to wait till it dissolves on its own. Nothing more, nothing less. Not generic, not interesting enough.

There's too much going on here... the notes are clashing and becoming "muddy" together. This brand shines with its more simple formulations, in my opinion. I agree with those here who found this scent unpleasant.

Really love this, although wish the performance were stronger. Really dry, clean, and aromatic, does feel like Mediterranean scrubland and dry heat. I love that this is such a creative use of cashmeran when it's so often encountered in sweet, powdery compositions - I think it really brings out the warm resin in the drydown and stops it smelling too bitter/screechy/cleaning-product-adjacent. Tried layering it with the cashmeran 'molecule' and it dials it up to a cosy cabin kind of woodiness (though still summer-appropriate). Would 100% have bought a full bottle by now if I could smell it after two hours, could definitely still be tempted if I spot it at a discount.

At first, juniper and rosemary dominate the scent, it's almost too sharp for my taste, then laurel and white florals come through... Really not my kind of scent. I prefer other scents from Escentric, this is too aromatic, and I do not get any woody notes on my skin, the florals linger.

Bright and juicy citruses with refreshing juniper berries at first but then it’s become more bitter, green and woody and basically smells like a freshly chopped pine branch with a little bit of resin in the background. It slightly leans towards more masculine scents for me, but I would definitely try wearing it on a summer day. My ig: scent.guide

Smells like beets

This scent brings me memories about mushroom hunting in a damp forest during fall when I sprayed myself some cheap citrus repellent against mosquitoes. Edit: I tried it again one year later. So right now I feel artificial herbal extract that pretends to be natural. Bitterness from damp soil that annoyed me last time disappeared. But chemical nature of this scent doesn’t allow to make a deep breath and enjoy the composition.

Pleasing summery scent that is more complex once you take the time with it. It starts with a burst of orange/bergamot, but develops nicely into something more resinous, fragrant and piney. A bit like a nice relaxing shower after a bit of sauna. Not bad

This to my nose is quite harsh and green up close, smelling of skin, but it's one of those fragrances which smell completely different in the air and as such this gives silage similar to Terre D'Hermes EDT interestingly. However it's milder, with undertone of Fig, more so the leaf, rather than fruit It projects first 2-3 hours, then stays as skin scent for few more Solid fragrance, if you give it a chance and don't judge it only by what you get of your skin, ask someone to wear it for you and smell them to get clear picture If you like Terre D'Hermes and if you do smell Iso E in your spectrum, then this will be nice for you

It's a scent profile, which is like my holy grail, as I love tartness in fragrances during summer. It's green, tart, uplifting, light & airy. It's quite non-sweet, which is why I love it more. Despite having some aldehydes, which I think are in small balanced portions, it smells incredibly natural, fresh, citrusy & foresty. I'm utterly shocked that this does not have any kind of pepper note in it, because that is immediately what I smell. In a good way! Leaning masculine for sure, but could be great on a woman too. I get mainly a peppery, woody, slightly green/bitter floral thing. It's good!

Warm, aromatic and sweet. Doesn't project far, which I like. Reminiscent of cola bottle sweets or cola cubes.

This one gives an easier to wear Comme des Garcons 2, despite CdG2 already being relatively easy to wear. It’s a bit more minimalistic and airy, but still retains that signature green profile, even going as far as smelling like glossy magazine pages. I cant stop sniffing this, not because it blows me away, but more because it has an addictiveness to it. Sure, there are other louder, better performing belters for the same price, but if you’re looking to stand out, yet remain understated, this is worth checking out, especially if youre a fan of CdG2.

100% Feminine scent. Bottom line. Plain and simple. Nothing wrong with that, but for all you guys out there I'm telling you flat out, you may not want to get a sample of this , you'd be wasting money. I really enjoyed this and what I didn't realize is that I enjoy that smell on a woman. I put this on in a sample form on my neck and my girlfriend smelled it and right away she said that's what a woman would wear. I washed it off vehemently lol. There ya go.
