Molecule 01 + Mandarin

smells like your fingertips after getting orange peel under your nails from opening up a cutie. really pithy and then dries down into a pretty flat citrus scent. something about it smells a little….sweaty? like orange scented deodorant

I was gifted Molecule + Mandarin and wasn’t entirely sure I was going to like it, as I’m very much a woody-scent kind of guy. That said, I did need another summer fragrance, so I went in with an open mind. I already love Molecule 01, so this didn’t exactly have to work too hard to win me over. It goes on quite strong, with a big hit of fresh, juicy mandarin. Initially it’s very bright and citrusy — almost like a straight-up fizzy orange drink — but thankfully it doesn’t stay there. As it develops, the mandarin becomes darker, slightly bitter and much more interesting. The dry-down is where I really like it. It becomes unmistakably Molecule 01: that gorgeous, warm, woody Iso E Super, but with the mandarin still hanging around and giving it a summery twist. To my nose, I’d say it’s roughly 70% Iso E Super and 30% mandarin. Like Molecule 01, it’s quite transparent and comes and goes throughout the day, so I find you need to spray fairly liberally. Would I buy it again? Yes. It’s nothing particularly unusual or groundbreaking, but it’s really nice and incredibly easy to wear. I’d happily buy a whole bottle of this, throw it in my suitcase and wear it throughout a summer holiday. Fresh, woody, citrusy and uncomplicated — exactly what I want when it’s hot outside.

I like it, in a mild way, in the same way the scent itself is mild. It smells almost spot in for peeling a clementine, getting the oils from the peels expressed out onto your fingers and hands. Just a little dry/powdery/floral, almost like a Flintstones vitamin. Nothing exceptional here at all. Pass.

People saying it barely lasts either have terrible skin or are 100% going noseblind. This is one of the best cirtus performers out there. Straight summer banger and goes great for layering with other freshies/blues. Must smell!

Realistic mandarin orange If not even the best out there, ofcourse as a fresh scent it has a moderate sillage and longevity. Absolutely great for layering Wish it lasted longer 6/10

100% smells like mandarin Jarritos and I’m so here for it! The more you spray the spicier it gets in a medicinal way. I do wish it projected better, it’s like a cologne. Smells great layered with vanilla!

Realistic mandarin orange. I am a citrus lover—for fruits to eat—so I like this one a lot. Good to layer, especially with simple vanilla. Or with Adidas Get Comfy to make citrus stand out.

Very straight forward mandarin/citrus scent maybe a little to basic on its own would need layering. Also the smell is gone nearly instantly, I would say it lasts 30 minutes max on my skin. If it was stronger and lasted longer I could imagine really enjoying this scent during the summer time!

This is a tough rate for me. I got a small sample of it and I really enjoy the scent itself. Photorealistic mandarin orange - it's pleasant, smells nice, etc. It fades quickly into nothing though... probably impossible to overspray. For example, I did a spray on each wrist, chest, and back of my neck. Can't smell anything at all after an hour. I wear Layrite hair cream and the cream soda scent from that FAR overpowers anything from the M01+ Mandarin. I want to like this because the smell is nice, but there's just no longevity at all.

I can't believe it took until today for me to try this, but I didn't miss out on anything. Great opening citrus. Yes. My comment to myself was, "Once that Iso E Super calms this might be a buy". Uh, nope. It's the Mandarin that lessens, and quickly, while the IES stampedes on, and on. The citrus is so subdued so quickly that the only way I'd buy this is if it was cheaper than Molecule 01 (it isn't) and I was nearly out of Molecule 01. "Ok", but disappointing.

Beautiful, photorealistic tart juicy mandarin. Smells like the spritz of citrus oil that's released when you open a real mandarin. The base of Iso E Super is clean, fresh, and smooth without being soapy. This sits close to the skin and is perfectly unisex. If you prefer a sightly sweeter and juicier citrus, try Summer of '84 by Kerosene. It has stronger lasting power and a larger scent bubble, if that's what you're after. Both scents are perfect in their own right.

This smells identical to the scent of peeling a Cutie mandarin orange 🍊 It's really lovely however I'm not sure that I want to smell like a Cutie 😂

Although I am a fan of M01 this combination reminds me of cow dung. Don’t mean it in any derogatory way, just a strange pair to my nose.

It smells fresh and clean. On me, it smells like citrusy cologne. On my mom, it smells almost sweet, tart-like. I actually like this a lot. A perfect scent for hot and humid days when you are looking for something fresh and zesty yet skin-like. Very photorealistic mandarin.

Schoen üstad yine konuşturmuş işçiliğini ve montobaccoda yaptığı gibi burada da iso e superi baz olarak kullanmış. Üzerine de güzel bir citrus teması yerleştirmiş. Basit ama etkili. Tekdüze ama sıkıcı değil. Kokladikca kendini sevdiren bir yapısı var.

Amazing spring summer scent… really enjoy wearing at

I'm a lover of citrus fragrances and the smell of citrus in general. Unfortunately, this scent did not grab me. I do not find it to be photorealistic as other reviews have found it- it lacks a certain juicyness to it. It reminds me of a less juicy version of an EmergenC powder- a bit dry, tart and unripened. The scent is not unpleasant, but perhaps a bit synthetic, and after an hour or two it is gone. I've tested my sample multiple times and in multiple weathers and havent found the same success others share of this glorious scent trail. Power to you if you love it! (My preferred citruses in no particular order thus far are Hermes (kumquat of Jardin di Monsieur Li), Phlur (Tangerine Boy) and ADP (Arancia di Sicilia))

An extremely realistic orange in the opening. It's striking to me how good this orange note is, and how good the black tea note is in Molecule 01 + Black Tea. Some of the best examples of those notes I've smelled. Both fragrances behave similarly though. By the one-hour mark, this was about 25% mandarin orange, and 75% iso e super/ cedar. I don't find anything remarkable about the dry-down of these Molecule 01 fragrances either...no addictive muskiness; just droning, sharp woodiness. Still, worth trying for lovers of mandarin orange!

Pleasant and extremely subtle. Both the mandarin and the musky/woody notes sit very close to the skin. Mandarin remains pretty bright and realistic; on me, the lower notes turn into a straightforward new paper smell, which I love mostly because it's such a weird thing to smell on my skin. Have yet to try it in hot weather, where the projection might be stronger.

Wow, this is really nice, it’s the most accurate mandarin perfume I’ve sniffed so far! Might challenge my number one mandarin forward scent from my collection, Guerlain’s classic Mandarin Basilic line! This is pure, freshly squeezed mandarin peel and juice. Super photorealistic and naturally delicious. Very simplistic if you think about it but it’s done beautifully. 100% safe blind buy if you’re interested in citruses.. For some reason, I didn’t expect Molecule 1 + Mandarin to be so good but I love it. A beautiful, warm, but refreshing mandarin focused fragrance perfect for sunny summer days! Goes without saying on my to buy list. Don’t know if Escentric Molecules do smaller size bottles or travel size, but if they do this will be an automatic purchase as soon as I finish writing this… Edit 25.03.2025 My travel size Molecule 1+Mandarin has arrived today and I’m already packing it mentally for my May holiday! Edit 2, 05.05.25 I had the travel size with me for my Crete trip and I used it up. It was just perfect for those early spring, sunny days but I struggled with how subtle it was and how quickly it disappeared. Will not upgrade to a bigger bottle, it’s just too light for my liking.

Love this! Fizzy, photorealistic mandarin, makes me feel prettier just wearing it. Not too sweet, not synthetic, just lovely and bubbly and fresh.

It is what it says. A molecular mandarin scent. Nothing crazy. I think you can do better for this price. But if you love mandarin fragrances this is a safe blindbuy

Extremely realistic Mandarin orange! Smells like you just a peeled it yourself, and lasts much longer than I expected. A beautiful twist to the Molecule lineup by Geza Schoen.

This is a great, fresh scent for the warmer days. At first spray, it's bright, juicy and refreshing orange citrus with a hint of woods in the background. It smells as if you're in a woodshop and just bit into a clementine, letting the juice dribble down your chin and get soaked up by the sawdust on the floor. Very straightforward, as there's not much of a journey at all with this scent—it's orangey and woodsy for the entirety of the wear. This lasted on me for about seven to eight hours. Overall, another great formulation by Escentric. What it lacks in complexity, it makes up for with its olfactory experience.
