Orange X Santal

Head notes have a strong vibrant bitter orange note that reminds me the colognes my grandfathers wore in Venezuela in the 1980s. Though the dry-down happens in less than 10 minutes and the oak moss and basil seem to take over the orange and dulls down the sandalwood. 30min in, it feels like nothing on me. My husband had to really sniff the skin on the point I applied it to and could barely tell it was there. It’s a shame. I like a moderate to present sillage and longevity, so my disappointment was near immediate.

I wish I could smell bitter orange. Because this scent, just like Concentré d'Orange Verte (Hermès) and Azemour Les Orangers (Parfum d'Empire) are similar in a sense that they are all green and have something citric in it, and all very good. Concentré d'Orange Verte and Eau d'Orange Verte are much greener and fresher, Orange X Santal is milder. How people smell the typical, edible, even sweet orange in this, I have no idea, but bitter orange -- who knows, I'm yet to smell that fruit.

Quite a linear scent, just like most of the fragrances in this house, but I’m still really enjoying the combination of orange and sandalwood, it’s uplifting! Longevity is moderate. It can be an easy reach for spring and summer. Loved layering this with Bois Impérial! Definitely in my top 5 from the discovery set.

As others have said, this is almost like 2 separate fragrances because of how quickly and strangely it dries down. The opening is a bright, complex orange that has notes of woody moss. Within 10 minutes it fades into a powdery scent reminiscent of the air fresheners in grandma’s bathroom. I really wanted to love this one, but just can’t make it work…

The opening is the best orange I have ever smelled. It smells just like cutting an orange in half & holding it under your nose. Sadly the beautiful orange fades quickly & the dry down is just a bit of a quiet meh generic male cologne.

A bitter orange that still for 5 minutes and turn into a heavy cheapy soap sent. It’s not a hate but a truly dislike

Oolong tea !!! I love this, my favorite out of the entire line.

refreshing orange with greens in the background, on the early spray I mostly notice the cypress, then on the dry down the sandalwood comes out and gives this very clean, smooth aspect alongside the orange, it's also a bit soapy after not even an hour it just blends into a rather generic soapy sandalwood/green scent that gets weaker and weaker, the orange slowly leaving and fading away, and after even more time it turns into exactly how shaving foam smells pleasing but pretty linear and basic, and coming from Nice Bergamote, the longevity and sillage are even worse, it leaves your skin pretty quickly

PDMs have a note way in the background that reminds me of Brut aftershave. This note/vibe is here too, but with a photorealistic orange. This fragrance is deceptive; you think it's gone, but it lingers. I recommend layering this with Althair.

Love at first sniff..one of the freshest cleanest smelling perfumes i have ever owned. Beautiful ❤️the only problem is it doesn't last very long..3 hours max on skin.

The opening is a bit acidic and high energy but the drydown is beautiful, very relaxing, smells unique. Realistic orange that is smoothed out into a creamy touch. Addictive! This is how all bodywashes and soaps should smell like. Such nice blending, no note ever gets too dominant, it's smooth. This is the kinda scent I would bring on a vacation

Do you like sandalwood and super realistic orange notes? Yeah? Give Orange X Santal a whirl. It has no tricks up its sleeve; does exactly what the name promises and does it really well. I’d say 60% masculine, 40% feminine.

🍊🍊🪵🪾 Opens with a very refreshing, slightly bitter orange over dry wood. Hermes vibe - though less citrus cleaner and no headache triggered. It's markedly a somewhat realistic orange scent, so at least they tried. Dry, fresh, sparkly, nice. 🍦🍦🍊🍊 Soon enough the wood gets lost and the oranges get a good serving of whipped cream on top. I can see this being a bit hard on some people as lactonics usually heavily skin-dependent. Still, it's 60% orange, 40% sandalwood. 🍊🐇🍦🪾🐇🍊🍦🪵🍊 Nice, not crazy about it, but it literally does what it says on the tin. My partner says it smells to him like something popular 10-15 years ago. Gone in a couple of hours.

You can rather get Never Ending Summer by MM...its the same category but NES is fresher

I usually understand when a fragrance is highly rated - this is one I don't get. My wife loves this on me and it is one of my favorite warm weather fragrances. What is unusual is my decant smells different than my full bottle. My decant reminded me of TDH on the dry-down while the full bottle reminds me of PDM's Sedley but with oranges. On both, the opening was an extremely realistic orange accord. I will report back after the bottle has matured some but this is one I will always want to have in my collection.

Bois imperial is very hyped but so boring, while this house has so many better fragrances to offer. This is one of them. I don’t think the orange note is synthetic at all, i think it smells very high quality and pleasant. Woody sweetness mixed with a peppery element and a zesty orange up top, beautiful. i got a bottle immediately and will have this in my rotation this summer.

The orange comes up way too much while the wood flies away almost instantly, the orange smell is way too chemically

Such an amazing orange, definitely like the smell of crushing the skin or squeezing and orange. Sweet orange rind. This fragrance CAN macerate and bring out both longevity and an incredible sandalwood base that's to die for.

The orange is great here. It’s quite an interesting experience of cognitive dissonance: you can’t say it’s photorealistic, as it lacks some sort of punch and brightness, but that’s exactly what makes the smell feel natural - almost as familiar as the splash of sour orange peel when you crush it. The sandalwood adds the expected milkiness, like whipped cream on top of the orange For me, orange and mandarines are the smell of New Year. Sandalwood with greens at the same time adds here a special and very important Christmas tree feeling, together with tasty sweetness and a clean touch. I would be even more hyped if there were a bit of pine - officially the best Christmas and New Year fragrance for family gatherings. I’d even left my sample untouched before this winter holiday to get a simple mood booster later Except for the pleasant winter association, Orange x Santal actually did something more important to me - it sobered me up. Fragrances became my addiction, and you all know that in the chase of that first feeling, you start seeking for stronger, almost perverse stimuli: absurdly powerful, strange, funky, and unexpected compositions. You want to overload your sensory system with an excessive amount of oil just to have this “ooooh…” feeling again. And here Orange x Santal simply says “hey, just stop for a moment and relax.” And I, in fact, relaxed that much that I can appreciate this basic, yet pleasant composition. Not for receiving a dose, but for help to overcome addiction

It has one of the best orange notes on the market. Hyperrealistic zesty orange peel. But it quickly turns into a very familiar old school cypress. Reminds a bit of malizia uomo aftershave. Not a bad scent, just not something that we haven't seen decades ago

Nice fresh juicy citrusy scent, summer edition. More airy, not much longivety.

There’s an ease to this fragrance that makes it particularly suited to summer; those unstructured, carefree days that drift into warm evenings. It also feels at home in tropical settings, where heat amplifies its soft radiance without ever becoming overwhelming. Think an evening on a patio in your linen suit looking out into the bay of Malay. Performance is deliberately restrained. With low sillage and a skin-close presence, this is not a fragrance that announces itself. Instead, it invites proximity, something discovered rather than projected. Overall, Orange X Santal is less about impact and more about atmosphere: understated, warm, and quietly confident. It’s a perfume I often find myself returning to. Well worth the money.

Fantastic smelling fragrance, incredibly realistic and fresh citrus, leading to a soothing sandalwood drydown. Sadly the citrus note really takes a hit after the first 5 minutes of the opening. You can still tell the citrus is there, just not as prominent as before. I wish they would make an extrait version of this one that would lengthen that opening orange, because it’s great!

This layers really nicely with Bois Imperial ;)

This is such a juicy, yet warm fragrance. The orange is authentic, and stays on my skin until the next day, which is very unusual for citrus notes. The woody, spicy base lingers too. It's just such a beautiful scent. Firm favourite in my rotation, especially in summer weather.

I blame my skin chemistry. I wanted an affordable bigarade concentree dupe. All I got was linear aftershave.

The orange in the beginning is pretty nice. And the herbs also. But unfortunately it is loaded with some aromachemical that doesn't sit well with me. I'd guess it's the same chemical as in Bois Imperial, because they smell similar to my nose. If you love Bois Imperial, then this wouldn't bother you of course. It's just not my cup of tea. The drydown turns very feminine on my skin. A kind of marshmallowy floral musk. It's pretty nice, but not really for me.

Everything about this fragrance is valuable. Projection- no need for massive projection for this kind of fragrances. Longevity- 4 hrs appro n that is more than enough for a fresh frag. Its a good vibe mass appealing frag.

Very pretty but it's so light and fleeting, it vibes more like a body spray
