am I dreaming or miss dior (2021) is infact fendi plus some apricot & peach??? like reallyyy...

Scored a small unused bottle for $10.00 last week. I have grown to love these "old stinkies" and never seem to break down the notes but I love CARNATION and I get it here. The bottle (original version) is so nondescript that when these pop up at the flea market - the sellers just think they are "dime store" perfumes. Win/win. GRADE: B plus plus.

Very strong and distinctive. This was my date night fragrance in high school (late eighties) and brings back a lot of memories. I still have a bottle today and wear it about once a year for a night in with my husband (high school sweetheart.) It's too strong to wear out in public in my opinion, and is definitely dated, but is super sexy, even after all these years.

Smells very Italian to me. Fendi has the bones of a classic chypre, reminding me of Versace L'homme, Aromatics Elixir, and Histoire d'Eau. Very unique. Cardamom is prominent along with leather, patchouli, & starchy carnation, lifted by citrus. You'll stand apart in this, in a good way.

This always made me think of spiced apples but with warm/cool dichotomy. It's hard to explain. Scents back then were dense and full so it's hard to pick apart notes.

As with many of its kind, Fendi is a chypre that is opaque and not easily deconstructed into smaller assemblages of notes. This is why I deem it a futile task to express how it smells based on my perception of notes alone. It is everything and the kitchen sink under low light—yet it isn't merely a brassy number, its complicated, even messy, like some of the most fascinating personalities in existence. I'd argue it takes someone with a certain constitution to be able to luxuriate in it; otherwise it may feel febrile and oppressive. Fully loaded with any facet one can imagine appearing in any chypre since time immemorial, vignettes of the greats take shape throughout its development—some Coriandre here, then some Aromatics Elixir there, then a flashback of Zibeline, even a silhouette of Youth Dew. But Fendi roars with a timbre like anything else. Imagine a room filled with leather and furs, hot apple brown betties, lit cigarettes in bakelite ashtrays and roses in all states—just budding, in full bloom, dried and faded. I have made a concerted effort to avoid referencing "old money" because of its grim connotations, but there is this undeniable diamond-studded opulence to Fendi, very Vanderbilt before the impetuous fall. For all of its grandeur and decadence, the true thrill is just how seamy it becomes as time passes; an animalic amber paws around at underthings, lurking in the shadows. It's a rascal in a sable, blood red lipstick on a starched collar, beads counted at the break of dawn, and a trail left behind all the way to confession. Fendi goes from lux to lust, and what I ride it is.

I absolutely LOVE! this perfume. My partner has a bottle from the early 1990's and uses very sparingly as no longer in production. It's intoxicating...elegant...sophisticated and an absolute sensory treat whenever she wears it. It's slightly masculine and what some would call "old-school". That is more than acceptable from my perspective especially when "modern" designer scents are often too sweet, synthetic, and boring.

Spicy, Vintage Chypre... I wore this back in the early 90's, and loved it for the spiciness - the standouts being coriander, cardamom & the fresh spicy side of cypress. Also a faint vibe of pickling spices, that are all fluffed up by the oakmoss It's a big, bold chypre, and it was sold to me back then as being similar to Coco Chanel, and there are similarities, but they aren't identical. Fantastic performance, on par for big, bold chypres of this era, probably best in cooler weather but really anytime in moderation. If you manage to find a vintage bottle you will enjoy, especially if you like spicy vintage chypres. It's a love for me. Contrast to Coco EDT Chanel: There are different, but there may be similarities with spices, coriander, rose & sandalwood. But Coco isn't a chypre, and doesn't have the oakmoss present in Fendi Fendi. Fendi also reads as spicier to me. Both have great performance, but slightly stronger for Fendi Fendi. Contrast to Diva Emanuel Ungaro: These are different, but there are similarites with big bold chypre-ness, oakmoss, rose, coriander, cardamom, sandalwood etc. The main difference is that Fendi doesn't have the honey & white florals in the heart, and also reads as spicier. Both have excellent performance, roughly equivalent.

My mom wore this when I was a kid and I always thought it smelled like sweet and spicy apples surrounded by woodiness.

This is a true classic! Fendi is sophisticated and warm, with the perfect balance of floral and spicy notes. I get lots of compliments when I wear it.

Dark, vamp, seductress, very sexy, are the words I would use to describe this fantastic fragrance. I loved this from when it was first launched in 1985, I was 18 years old. I have a large 100ml Spray bottle identical to the photo, also a tip on version and 2 5 ml miniatures all of the original vintage fragrance and they smell divine. All the notes are as mentioned, this is a very spicy, warm fragrance ideal for the colder months. A resemblance to the original vintage Chanel Coco, nor the newer version as the fragrance has been watered down and no longer resembles the Coco of 85. Fendi Donna is a beautiful fragrance. I love it as it is unique not many women/men will be wearing thus bomb in 2024! Except me of course!

A dear work friend (Sandy Connell) wore this in the late 90s and it smelt incredible on her. At the time I loved it but it was far too strong on my young skin and projected monstrously and was all wood. I found a big 100ml bottle of the edt a couple of years ago for a ridiculous price and snapped it up. It was in perfect condition and I hoarded it but didn’t wear it. This morning I popped it on and I’m gobsmacked how incredible it smells on me now and brings back memories of my old work friend who was in her 60s at the time, I’m not sure if Sandy is still with us, but she was a beautiful force of nature, and still is in my memories. (Edit:12 Jan 2025 ran into an old colleague and Sandy is alive and well…a near future catchup is being planned❤️). This also brings back my beloved Coco to me in her spicy rosewood glory. Not the same but enough that it scratches that itch. The current version of Coco is unrecognisable to me (a changeling even). Fendi is a woody, basey, spicy seductress. Pure class, pure power and she has it together. I have about 80ml left of this gorgeous scent. But the most priceless thing is the memories she returns. Such a beauty.

Such a good smell ! In 1992 I did english course in England and there was a venezuelan girl that used this perfume. She was very attractive and i wanted her very much. I flirted with her but as I was so shy at that time, it didn't work. I stay just with that smell on my mind after that trip. A platonic love represented in a scent. Fendi, bring back the old works of art that you have produced, pleease!

Smells like Raid bug spray.

Years ago when I found out this was discontinued I hoarded as many bottles as I could so I would never run out. I love this scent, it's been my signature scent since I discovered it in the late 90s. Its smells of a mysterious, vampiric dominatrix with the elegance of Catherine Deneuve in The Hunger. It works well with leather, satin, latex, cashmere, and rhinestones. 6" patent leather heels or thigh boots. Corsets and fully-fashioned stockings, long opera gloves. It's a Helmut Newton goddess in a bottle. It's powerful and sensual, and not at all girly. I would even recommend this for the right man to wear because it's too incredibly sexy to be wasted on one gender. It's not for people who like fruity, sparkly, or sickeningly sweet scents and its not a blind buy. My previous partner was mesmerized when I wore it, current partner despises it so I wear it for myself or when he is not with me. I can't stop smelling my wrist when I do! I will wear this until I am down to the very last drop of my very last bottle and try to have a dupe made when it gets to that point. Such a shame this was discontinued.

Another one of my Mom's that I found in storage. She must have really liked this one..because it is way down, almost to the bottom. I am going to keep it just for her memories' sake. Do I like it? I am going to have to compare it to a recent one...this one may have gone wrong...something smells "off".

This opens spicy and aromatic in such a smolderingly intense way it's almost metallic, before eventually developing a softer woody and vaguely balsamic smoothness in the dry down. The floral accord here isn't pretty and delicate, but sharp and unapologetic, with minimal sweetness. Similarly, the powdery accord is crisp, cool, and unsentimental—though it does become softer and more approachable in the dry down. The overall effect is sharp and savvy, with major HBIC energy: briefcase, pumps, and deep red lipstick from a bullet tube. She would like her name on the door, a manicure, and for Gary from HR to get his shit together. If Cake's Short Skirt/Long Jacket was a fragrance. This is an update of my previous 2021 review.

I barely skimmed the 80's, I was born in 1989. But in my childhood, I caught whiffs of Fendi on my mother and grandmother. It's so exuberantly Italian! I grew up a short while in Italy and this scent, along with the later 90's D&G Red Cap, are the stuff of my nostalgia. AND YES, you can bet I have my own bottles and wear them today, because I love them. Dated? Of course. Scents like these are a remnant of their time, and whether we like the term "dated" or not, let's be honest: the glory days of gems like these are over, but they don't go unappreciated by people like me... even if I get the "old lady" comments, haha. Anyway, back to Fendi. She's a take-charge woman in an all-black designer skirt-suit, fitted with gold buttons and shoulder pads that could cut through a doorframe. The initial blast of Fendi is like a shattered vase of lush roses strewn about a marble floor, which this stern-faced, model-esque woman is now trampling through with her sleek black pumps. She has no time to waste; be damned the chaos around her. She will trample you, too, if you get in her way. But when she is done carrying out her plans and going about her business, she retreats home to get comfortable, where she relaxes in a bath and carries out her nightly routine. So, yes... Fendi is an aldehydic dark rose boss queen, overpowering at first. The magic is about 30 minutes in, where you get these spicy rich, honeyed florals that loom warmly on your skin. Fendi then becomes rather sensual and reveals its core to you, going from a black panther on the prowl to a black kitten purring in your ear. A work of art. I'm really happy that my skin brings out the rose so strongly, because it ends up smelling a bit on the gothic side. Definitely something I gravitate towards on a cold day when I'm wearing black and feeling rather commanding.

Nothing else smells like this. In my rather large collection this is one of two fragrances that transports me (to 2004 or 2005, even though it took me 20 years to come to it) -- the other fragrance is the feminine Benetton Colors in clear bottle with various colored name text, which transports me back to 1987 around when it came out. I bought a vintage well preserved unused bottle of 100 ml edp Fendi Donna Classic / this one on eBay and have noticed that the oakmoss softens to reveal a more ambery base which I prefer, in time. I guess Josephine from Rancé 1795 is also a transport fragrance, to around 2006 in St. Petersburg where I bought it. Just to give an idea of my taste and trajectory in perfume.

For those missing this baroque and beautiful scent, Diptyque's underappreciated Oud Palao is very close to it. It has the same spiced apple tobacco fruitiness, leather, and intense animalics and immediately recalled Fendi to me . CdG's great Floriental is also similar albeit more streamlined and minimalist.

Another breathtaking floral chypre. I sprayed this precious vintage Fendi EDT on a handkerchief for some ad hoc aromatherapy. I have discovered that when I'm testing a new fragrance, I'd just as soon use a clean handkerchief as a test strip. It lasts a lot longer than it does on my skin, which means I can enjoy a small amount for a much longer duration. This is so well-blended that nothing jumps out at you; you just pause to admire the way the ylang-ylang, rose, geranium, woods, and spices converge in an agreeable and enigmatic aroma. Pure class!

Live, laugh, LOVE this perfume, it's so woody with a hint of vanilla.. and.. spicy?! Somehow they just blend so well... Whenever I wear this perfume I think that I'm some slutty teen from the early 00's. Overall, easiest 20/10

Despite my fear of the potential migraine THREAT that I thought that this beauty may have on me now, I decided that THREAT be DAMNED and took the plunge to revisit this blast from the past this week. I had a 1.7oz EDT bottle back in ‘90/‘91 and I certainly loved it back then, this being BEFORE certain notes in fragrances would send me into migraine HELL (I have deduced this sudden switch occurred when I got Mono in 2002, because thereafter is when certain scents began to trigger migraines, which I had NEVER had before in my entire life). Anyway….I hadn’t had a whiff of Fendi since I finished off that bottle of mine and moved on to the fresh and aquatic scents that dominated in the mid ‘90’s. So yeah, it had been a good 30+ yrs ago since I’ve smelled it. I acquired a perfectly preserved mini bottle that arrived just a couple of days ago and BAM!! Instantly I was transported back 3 decades. Smells EXACTLY as I remember. AND…whaddayaknow? NO MIGRAINE! Very pleased! EDIT 6/25/23: trying this out again today to analyze it further… Initial blast is menthol-y (the cypress perhaps??), quickly followed by a melange of spices that are very zingy and anchored beautifully by the amber and patchouli in the base. And quite frankly, in general, I am NOT a fan of decipherable patchouli AT ALL in frags, but in this case, it absolutely works and is necessary as it is very integral to the composition. The carnation and geranium are the florals I’m picking up in the heart the most. The rose, ylang ylang, jasmine and lily of the valley are not the stars here, they are in the backseat for the first 10 minutes, and are hardly making their presence known. This is all in the first 10 minutes on my wrist. 45 min into the experience, the cypress has toned down, but everything else has stayed fairly linear, but def NOT at all in a boring way. As described by others here, this sophisticated lady is a narcotic. You will find yourself putting your nose to wherever you had applied it, and you’ll do this without even thinking about it… With all of that said, at this point, I’d say that while this is a still a definite MASTERPIECE, I don’t see myself wearing it on a regular basis as I once did. This is definitely not a summer scent (despite the fact that I’m trying it in the summer). It is much too spicy, too dense and heady for warm weather, this juice is very much suited for late fall and winter. It likely wouldn’t be one I’d reach for often, only on occasion. She is much too powerful and bold for everyday wear for most. In a sea of gourmands that are currently dominating, should you wear this beauty out and about, prepare yourself. You WILL, POINT BLANK, be noticed…. This frag is a DEFINITE MUST to have for anyone that collects 80’s vintages. It is BOLD and POWERFUL, but like no other of that era. I agree on the assessments below that this def is unisex and I’d actually love to smell it on a man…now I just need to find one willing to test it out. Haha.. 8/10

My Grandmother’s signature scent. Though not for me personally, it will always be magically comforting because scent is memory. I would buy little vials here and there from eBay to surprise my Grandma, but it has been awhile since I have found affordable ones. At a lively 86, she still talks about this scent and she would be utterly overjoyed to wear it once more, and I need to renew my search. I recently found something in the same DNA line and plan to purchase that Tocca Cleopatra(?) for her to try…it instantly made me think of her perfume and I hope she feels the same.

It is lovely to see so many people who appreciate this amazing and rare vintage scent from Fendi. I happen to have a large full 3.4 fl oz/ 100ml bottle with the box available. It is like new and has been cared for since I first found it in an estate sale. If anyone is interested in purchasing, I am willing to negotiate a fair price. I have seen how much it is going for on ebay (up to 675.00 last I checked), but I would rather it go to a place where it is appreciated, so I am willing to come down a bit in that respect.
