I received a sample of this with a makeup order and was surprised by how strong it is. Very floral and elegant I could probably smell her on a business woman fresh into work. Very cooling with the patchouli note and somewhat fresh with the hint of tangerine.
Unlike other celeb perfumes, this one doesn't try too hard to profit off of impressionable young teenage girls and women with their overdone sweet gourmand, fruity floral, candy sweet, or skin musk type scent. However, the scent profile is a COPYCAT of traditional Arab perfumery thats been around for much longer than the creation of this perfume. To see that traditional Arab scent profiles are seen as outdated or unfashionable, but when it's an American superstar overcharging it with a nice bottle and branding to jack up the price exorbitantly...I can only sigh. Just do me a favor and buy Aseel or Saat Safa oil from Al Rehab - you're getting pretty much the same vibe for much cheaper and a smoother, more refined and full bodied profile. Don't let these celebs rip you off. I don't own Saat Safa, but Aseel I can confirm is almost 90% similar. Saat Safa would probably be even closer since the notes are pretty much 1-for-1. Fenty: Moss-forward. Damp wood and mossy background with a touch of fresh rose on top. Aseel oil: Powdery rose on a background of ambery wood with mint opening for the first 30 minutes. No oud detected.
Jacques Cavallier Belletrud also worked on Midnight Poison and it totally shines through in this creation. Absolutely Divine.
This does have something of an initial mentholated, peppery quality which I can imagine might put some people off, akin to a fruity mouthwash. (Could be the type of geranium?) It is not unpleasant but perhaps doesn't give a wonderful first impression. It only takes a minute then this settles into lemon-laced woody blueberries ( okay it is tangerine not lemon). The patchouli is strong but not dark and heavy and has that damp wood/earth sort of feel it often gives. I found I had to spray it more liberally to get a good sense of the roses in it. Most reviews and articles seem to focus on this as a rose scent, to me the rose is markedly in the background behind the blueberries and patchouli. I don't find this to be an overly sweet fragrance. It is much lighter on the blueberries than Blueberry Musk by Arabiyat Prestige which I used to have. Over time Blueberry Musk also became very sweet and muffin like whereas this is far less gourmand in nature. Kind of reminds me of Swedish Blueberry Soup if anything, a light blueberry dish not a cookie or cake. If you dislike patchouli this will probably not be for you, it isn't the undercover sort of patchouli here. It is a bold patchouli note. The soft floral blueberry is however very redeeming and the fragrance even gets a little vanillic in the dry down although not listed. Not for everyone but I am sure it has won many hearts amongst blueberry lovers. Could be a unique signature as it seems versatile and has an all year round appeal. Mood : anything goes Edit: the more I wear it - it smells like lemon drops for a good while, slightly powdery and dries down with a stronger rose oil. I don't love it but it is somewhat addictive and incites plenty of re-sniffs throughout its wear.
It’s just a gorgeous scent and to my opinion underrated. Just unique
This is a new obsession of mine. I can't believe this is only rated a 3.71. I'm thinking that lower rating may have more to do with the celebrity behind this perfume than the actual perfume itself. I think that sometimes happens with celebrity scents. I'm ambivalent toward Rihanna and her music but this perfume is exceptional. It's a patchouli heavy spicy blood red rose with a burst of juicy and very bright tangerine that remains through the wear. I'm reminded of Guerlain La Petit Robe Noire Intense (2016 older version in the blue bottle) but that one is more Mugler Angel EDP-esque with that sugary blueberry cotton candy and dirty patchouli and while there is a rose note, it's not dominant at all. Fenty does not lean gourmand at all and the rose is dominant, front and center. Fenty uses a cleaner patchouli, like how Chanel does patchouli. This is so darn sexy. It's hella strong too but it's not overpowering or overwhelming, even in the heat of the summer. I'm in love with this!! This also reminds me a lot of Coco Mademoiselle Intense and Coco Noir. I think that anybody who loves either CMI, Coco Noir or LPRNI would love this too. Basically, if you love rose patchouli scents, I can almost guarantee this to be a safe and amazing blind buy. Gorgeous!!
My absolute fav for spring day/night and summer nights
What can I say I love this fragrance. It’s the only rose patchouli dominate fragrance I love. I can’t do Delina types anymore. But something about this one makes me feel like my version of a beautiful woman covered in Roses/ gardenias in nature. The rose feels wet, pungent or camphoric to me? But that’s what I love about it . Or maybe the patchouli and musk are doing that. Gives it this scent bubble I can smell endlessly like a cat rolling in catnip. And all notes just are so well balanced and blended to me. I know this fragrance gets a lot of negative reviews and no one talks about this one. And that’s ok I have 3 bottles just in case it gets discontinued.
I received a 2ml sample of this perfume with a makeup order, and honestly, I ignored it at first. When I finally gave it a try, I was completely blown away! I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews, but this fragrance is absolutely beautiful on me. It’s such a unique scent—unlike anything else in my collection. Even the tangerine note, which is usually tricky for me since citrus can sometimes smell unpleasant on my skin, works perfectly here. Unlike some citrus-heavy fragrances I’ve tried, such as Chanel Chance, this one smells smooth, fresh, and incredibly well-blended. What I love most is how distinctive it is. It doesn’t smell like every other perfume on the market, and that’s what made me fall in love with it. I loved it so much that I immediately ordered a full-size bottle! On my skin, it lasts around 4 hours, though I haven’t tested it on clothing yet. I also heard they may have recently reformulated it, and if that’s true, they definitely got it right. If you’re curious about it, I highly recommend giving it a try!
I love this fragrance so much. Yes it is quite a mature scent however it’s sexy and elegant. This is a confidence in a bottle type scent. It’s not a crowd pleaser. Not your typical sweet, fruity floral but it’s got depth! It’s interesting. I get so bored of the celebrity fragrances, they all smell the same but this is just classy. I love it!
The 1st couple of times I tried Fenty I hated it just like I did Guidance. My nose developed and I fell in love. This perfume is for a night out and its beast mode. I wear it sometimes with Guidance. The parfum cream is also 🔥🔥🔥. Im on my 2nd bottle of the parfum and almost done with the cream with a 2nd jar waiting.
I was walking through the Myer department store a few days back and gave this one a cursory spray on the wrist. Wow this reminds me of one of my Mum's favourite perfumes Lancome Tresor Midnight Rose. Curios to know if anyone else gets this too. This has gone on to my list of fragrances to acquire - a really lovely scent.
I love this fragrance. It’s a very spicy sexual rose. It’s more on a mature side but it’s beautiful. Not for everybody’s taste as it is very bold. Honestly, reading the reviews, I don’t pick up majority of the things people say, the notes are also different to me. The rose is pretty jammy but dark
i normally like patchouli but in this perfume it just smells like straight mold to me :( wanted to love this one so bad
Intoxicating, made for the night! Will always associate it with being 21, running around the upper west side drunk off like 1 glass of Pinot Grigio lol
Wearing this perfume makes me feel like a bouquet of wilting roses-beautifully melancholic...
I thought Fenty would smell a bit more modern. This is such a heavy rose and patchouli combo - it was unexpected, but in a bad way. There are small hints of magnolia. It lasts quite long - I sprayed it yesterday, took a shower in the evening and I still could faintly smell it this morning. I don’t remember this ever happening with any other perfume. But yeah, it’s a headache inducing scent for me, sadly.
Very, very patchouli dominant.
I love this perfume. It reminds me of Nina ricci l’extase. Fenty is a sweeter type of agent provocature in the pink egg bottle. But the spices in Fenty are lighter. It appears to look like it will last long or have great sillage but it deflates soon after spraying. If the bottle was more interesting looking, it probably would be more popular.
At first all I got from this was rose and a very dirty patchouli that overpowered the fruits. There’s something about it that I like but it’s ultimately too piney and minty for me to fully get into.
Opening smells like bvlgari magnolia to me, because of the magnolia, for sure! and sometimes It reminds me of Ricci Ricci by Nina, because of the gorgeous patchouli but this one is more fruity and rose-toned with very sweet blueberry, which is Nina discontinued a long time ago. That's why I like this one so much. Seductive, inviting and playful.
I first reviewed this perfume a few months back when I got it off of Mercari from a woman who had never used it. When I first smelled it, I did not understand how anybody could think this was a good perfume. I gave a poor review. I stuck it the back in my perfume closet and got it out last night.. oh my gosh, it has turned into a beautiful power house. I got so many compliments on it. . Don't let the initial spray turn you off. Let it sit for a bit and you will be amazed at the results.
I first smelled this when my friend was wearing it for dinner. It was captivating and very intriguing — something I don’t typically smell (which is pretty rare for someone who owns 150+ perfumes). After smelling it from my friend, I went to the nearest Sephora the next day to make sure it was the right perfume. At first whiff, it didn’t smell like something so alluring, it was not my typical cup of tea. If so, it gave off that cockroach killing spray scent in Pine. It was the type of scent where I’d probably walk past by without even giving it a second thought. Thankfully, upon smelling it from my friend, I carried the piece of paper with me as I try out other scents in Sephora to wait for the dry down. I haven’t been in Sephora’s perfume section in a while since I started leaning more into niche fragrances since 2020 but my oh my am I missing this beautiful DNA in my collection. It’s definitely worth it. Instantly hoarded it and bought 3 75mL bottles and 2 travel size sprays because it’s just THAT good. The dry down gives off that warm sexy patchouli and musk with a hint of magnolia and Bulgarian rose combined — truly intoxicating 🤤 It may not be everyone’s cup of tea though so I recommend smelling it first as it’s definitely not a safe blind buy.
This perfume receives a lot of hate by people that want to write it off as smelling like “pine” or some sort of cleaner. Yet it’s so much deeper and more complex - the dry down is really nice, for me it reminds me of a really beautiful musk, and it’s a unique scent that performs so well on my skin. I can still smell traces of it 10-12 hours later.
This was a blind buy win! My first thought was oh no! I’ve made a terrible mistake! But I sprayed my wrist and it was magical! The first sniff that scared me originally was because all I could smell was dirty patchouli🤮that disappeared in an instant when I sprayed on my skin. Very long lasting as well. It’s a very nice honeyed rose. Sweet, dark, magical! Two other perfume that I’m slightly reminded of are Love Chopard and Idole intense that has been discontinued. I understand the “old lady” comments I suppose, but I guess I’ll be the youngest old lady you’ve ever met because I’m wearing this EVERYWHERE!!!!
I love this far more than I expected. I smelled it first time a few months ago when I saw it reduced. Before I had no interest, considering the price and the bad rep it got when it came out. I find it to be sweet and juicy, but also deep and slightly dark and gothic. It's got some kind of smokey feel, and slightly spicy still staying soft and juicy. It's refreshingly different, I'm so tired of smelling the same scent in different bottles for years. I got it for a great price in the UK.
For me this is very a feminin fragrance. Just love the rose and geranium notes & musc. If you like narciso rodriguez for her edp and edt , I think you will like this too.
Unfortunately for me, I get a lot of loud, nauseating, scratchy unpleasant geranium here. And after that I can smell rose (and rose scents for me can be tricky). Not a fan to say the least.
I'm not a huge fan of rose scents and was worried that this smell would be too dated or mature. I was surprised at how beautiful, warm, and balanced this was! You get top notes of summery florals with juicy fruits, but the earthy base notes make it herbal, warm, and sensual. This scent is for the mysterious dark-haired woman you meet one night with a natural, radiant, warm smile and never see again.
Before this fragrance, I have to admit I was anti-rose notes. There is something so captivating about this scent, not cloying or dizzying despite it's enormous sillage. I might add that this scent profile might be on the more mature side. But that's to be expected if you're a fan of Riri's other perfumes, like the Rebelle or Rouge lines. The longer this perfume sits on your skin the more enjoyable it becomes. I love that I can smell it on myself throughout the day, rather than it dissapearing due to familiarity. Oh, and it's also a huge compliment grabber.
