Gentleman Eau de Parfum

Opens up fresh spicy (not sharp at all) and irisy but then transforms into a warm spice bomb. Cloves and cinnamon are louuuud as hell in this perfume, no idea why they have much less votes than vanilla/orris/balsam/pepper notes. The base is sweet and beautiful, a very balsamic and resinous vanilla. The powderyness from iris still lingers. Smells like the warm spicy vanilla cousin of Gentleman Boisée and Prada L'Homme Intense. Definitely a winter/fall/night type of fragrance. Smells rich, mature and exquisite. If this perfume had less cloves and cinnamon, I would definitely buy it. 8/10.

I love dior homme, i was scared to blind buy this because there is vanilla and amber and from these notes i thought its way sweeter take on dhi, i got a sample and hell no it smells just like dior homme, its not overly sweet, not at all. Okay so this one smells almost 1:1 to dhi and i really didn't expected iris to be this prominent, its elegant, slightly sweet, goes more fruity than sweet vanilla, and for some reason i get the pear just like i get from dhi, its slightly fresh, and its more suitable for fall or spring than winter, and sometimes even summer. I will probably get a full bottle

Opens with the scent of a cold frosted pop tart spritzed with Prada L'Homme EDT. Settles down into a powdery iris scent with unmistakable Gentleman DNA. Overall, I'd describe this fragrance as a slightly more complex Prada L'Homme. Marking the first time a cold frosted pop tart has brought complexity to the mix.

I've always find this one weird... It's sort of fresh? But powdery, and at the same time fruity? It's a weird one, and I never know when to wear it. But thats me...

Revisiting this one again in the cool nights over here in Sweden, and oh my god is this such a powerhouse, at least my bottle. Strong projection and lasting power. Very warm but clean, the orris is very fantasy-style but gets a nice backbone from the ambers and the vanilla, very beginner friendly powder. Gotta be honest that this is really the only style of Orris/Iris fragrance that I truly enjoy. The only issue with this is that it's hard to find a slot for it because it doesn't go casual at all. It's pretty much reserved for a night on the town or dressed up events or parties. Look your best to make this shine.

As I started to smell more perfumes and started to look into unisex fragrances, Gentleman by Givenchy became kind of boring to me. But I used to love it and it gave me quite a few wellcomed compliments !

Imagine a Dior Homme Intense but a little darker iris, with added spicy vanilla To me this is better, but DHI smells cleaner, and on my skin, something is a little sour there, so doesn't really work for me. So some people will like it more then. Both are great fragrances for sure! If you're looking for a cozy warm iris scent for cold days / nights It's a really nice option. Try it first on skin.

I admittedly adore iris-forward masculine scents, and when it comes to floral accords, this is one note that smells spectacular on a man's skin. Givenchy Gentleman EDP is similar to Dior Homme Intense and Valentino Uomo Intense, yet it differs in how it settles on the skin. Givenchy Gentleman EDP is more masculine-leaning in my personal opinion, with the black pepper accord making it a spicy, darker alternative to those fragrances I have mentioned above. Givenchy Gentleman EDP is dense, balmy, and dark. It opens with black pepper and lavender which lends a barbershop-esque aroma. The head-lining accord is the orris root, which at times can smell like the surface of a latex balloon with its waxy, powdery scent. The scent composition is further grounded and warmed by cinnamon, cloves, and patchouli. The dry down is where this fragrance becomes truly addictive. It leans heavily into black vanilla husk and tolu balsam. This vanilla heavy drydown makes it perfect for the cooler months, date nights, and cozy evenings by the fireplace or snuggled up to the one you love. Of all the iris-dominant masculines on the market I have sampled, this is the first scent I would deem more masculine-leaning.

Beautiful. Creamy. Buttery. Iris. Just. Get. It.

Yes.. Bentley Intense.. strong similarities. Minus the bay leaf, leather & booze. Dryer, Smokey powdery incense woody (headache inducing sometimes). woody oriental opening (clove/ cinnamon) that last throughout the life of the fragrance. There’s also an underlying balsamic sweetness (tolu balsam/ tonka/ benzoin) that makes the blend so delicious & charming. Warm nilla husk barbershop powder 🤤sorta like 1725. The benzoin is like that of Pí & as mentioned, Bentley Intense.. dry, ‘dusty’ vanillic qualities. I couldn’t stop burying my nose in the shirt I wore the previous day 🫠 The carded sample smelled superior to the full bottle I have. Opening goes to Bentley, Dry down to GG EDP.

A more masculine version of DHI. At the time of its release it must’ve been revolutionary, but now already owning Privée and Boisée, both of which I find superior, I don’t see myself buying this. Still a great fragrance

Reminds me of old barbershop aftershave mixed with early editions of old spice. Not my cup of tea.

The recent reformulation is wayyyyyyy too lipsticky. I'd previously owned this perfume and it was amazing. I couldn't get enough of it but I bought one a few days ago and I can't stand it at all. I can't smell Vanilla and tonka bean at all. It's an iris mess. Do not buy the recent reformulation blindly. Try it before you buy. The gentleman society lines seems way easy to be worn. This one is just giving me nausea 🥲

Really interesting scent profile, and great performance. This unfortunately only suits very select occasions. It leans mature for me, for sure. I'd reach for other special occasion frags over this one though. Wish I hadn't bought this one.

The powdery iris fragrance that captured a place deep in my heart, so close to becoming my signature scent, and the one that earned me the most compliments. The performance is absolutely insane

To me this was like a fresh warm spice. It's not dense and is a bit airy . It's not a bad fragrance but it does smell like a modern older man fragrance.

I was looking for a Dior Homme Intense alternative, so after being recommended this, I blind bought it. I was expecting this to be a buttery, dark and very formal iris fragrance. Unfortunately for me, it smells a lot like Bentley for Men Intense, which I can't stand. In particular that woody, boozy dryness. This does have some iris, but not in the same style as Dior and it is not the dominant note, and neither is the vanilla. Not for me.

A must own for any gentleman or young man looking for a sophisticated iris fragrance. The ratio of versatility to performance to price is excellent. One of the few fragrances in my collection that has seen more than one or two bottles actually depleted since acquiring. Having said that, I also note that there have been some less than savory reformulations of this recently, but in my opinion I love the fragrance enough that I can look past it. The changes made to this haven't been as dramatic as I've seen elsewhere in my collection. Never fails to turn heads, start conversations, and lead to great interactions. Just a fantastic offering from the house, and one that I will try to keep in stock in my cool safe just in case...

The cinnamon is the star here, balanced out with that iris note. sophisticated but manly. This is advanced for a designer There's a smoothness to this but it's also brusk at the same time. Like a kind of fire and ice battle going on This reminds me of JPG Le male with that cinnamon note. Which is the note that makes me love that one too. I am not a big fan of iris, but this one does it well There's a kind of gourmandish vibe with this. The cinnamon note again, makes it have an edible feel to it, like a bundt cake or a coffee cake. There is a musky powdery base to it as well. The vanilla becomes prominent in the dry down. Pretty well blended. It opens up boozy but relaxes into a sweet sexy gourmandish vibe. Pretty intoxicating This would be a wonderful date night fragrance. Can't really see it in any other setting. Possibly a night out on the town as well, but this one has seduction written all over it This is grown up stuff, for men over 30. Dress it up Performance is pretty nuclear. Like me it goes strong all night
