First impression and to my nose it’s very similar to Herrera for men from 1991. I’m actually surprised it isn’t mentioned in Reminds Me section. Maybe slight resemblance to Kenzo Homme as it’s the same perfumer, but not as similar as I hoped/thought it would be. Nonetheless it’s good and quality fragrance and if you like Herrera for men you will like this.
When I immediate spray it I can smell a sweet bergamot like citrus scent that pierces through all the other scents. after a couple minutes and it dries down I can smell the fruity watery scent of a juicy fruit basket. maybe you can say a sweet daiquiri at the beach. slowly the hint of a cigar like smokey scent starts appearing. the scent of a apple wood cigar. something my dad used to smoke. Oddly I can also smell a hint of 'new plastic' scent like a beach ball. over all love the scent and smells like a vacation on the beach. I would say it is probably not for younger men as it does smell a bit more mature.
Smells like washing products, sorry !
This is really nice, but I go nose blind immediately.
This is now my go-to frag. It's so delicious and beautiful. It has that early 2000's summer scent to it. If Summer Jam by The Underdog Project had a scent, this would be it. Sweet but not sweet. Fresh but not fresh. AAAH just everything about it smells perfect
Smells like an inflatable plastic pool. Wildly nostalgic and melancholic at the same time.
If heaven had a scent on earth, it would smell exactly like this. This fragrance is truly a masterpiece. Even though it’s an older perfume, it easily outshines many of today’s fresh releases. I believe it’s perfectly safe for a blind buy and has a mass-appealing character.👍🏻
This is one of my all time favourite fragrances on my man. So sexy and sweet fruity fresh.. Perfect in warmer weather 🍉💧
A fresh aquatic classic with a breezy, effortlessly clean personality. The opening greets you with a cool rush of salty sea air, paired with crisp citrus and a touch of aromatic herbs — it’s like stepping outside on a cool coastal morning. It never feels synthetic; instead, it carries a natural and invigorating freshness. In the heart, subtle floral and green notes add a bit of structure without overpowering the fresh theme. The dry down leans into soft woods, smooth musk, and a whisper of clean amber, keeping the scent relaxed yet masculine. Projection and longevity are moderate, making this a great choice for daytime wear, casual settings, and warmer seasons. If you’re after a reliable “clean guy” scent that’s fresh without being generic, Ultramarine hits the mark. Overall: refreshing, subtle, and unpretentious — a dependable go-to when you want to smell good without trying too hard.
Aint no way ppl actually like this shit
Blind buy and it's ended up on the scrap heap (that is, given away to my father) within less than three weeks. While not quite horrible, it has little going for it. There is nothing marine or fruity about this fragrance, I perceive it as a blue fragrance which displays neither freshness nor sweetness. Certainly not fit for being worn in summer. Very little resemblance to the Kenzo Homme line and (unfortunately IMO) much closer to Ralph Lauren Polo Blue: a clumsy concoction of medicinal herbs rather than the fruity/floral notes advertised. I know what watermelon and mint smell like as these grow in abundance in my country: these are nowhere to be found in Ultramarine (maybe watermelon, just a little), and neither is magnolia. EDIT: Forgot to add, that teal-blue plastic bottle cap is really tacky! While it does not affect the quality of the product, this does unfortunately add up to the already mentioned negatives listed above.
Your baseline summer fragrance. Not too sweet, not too fresh. This smells like a rich dude on a luxorious yacht. Great for daily wear/office use. Decent 7/10.
Synthetic but smells clean like you just got out of the shower.
This is super unique! Have nothing to do with Kenzo at all, I have all Kenzo parfume and for 2 decades its among my best parfums. But this is super unique, its so soapy that its own dimension. I like it but I need to say its one of those parfumes that you can smell all the time, not a moment pass that you dont smell it. Its a bit on the edge of cuz its summer parfume but it acts like winter parfume hyer and overwhelming. Its not for everyone. But I like it!
Just received today so very early 1st impression. Very clean fresh salty aquatic and ozonic scent. Don't get any Tobacco or Blackberry but I do get a Cucumber type note which could be the Watermelon. Seems to perform half decently but I only get at most an arms length of projection. Definitely a Spring/ Summer early Autumn scent. Defo a daytime freshy. Very nice and inoffensive scent. I'll update when it's had some time to macerate.
Summer Beast Beautiful summer aquatic that lasts.. I dont get much of the watermelon I hoped to have gotten when I picked this up a few years back.. but nonetheless its still very solid.. Spring summer and early fall.. day or night wear.. lasts on my skin 7-8 hours. This is about 90% similar to Bentley Azure.. The one knock on this is that I pick up this smell of plastic in the opening.. Kind of off putting but only lasts like 30 min.. I do like Bentley Azure better than this.. Solid addition in any collection 7.6/10
This is an aquatic fragrance that projects very strong and that lasts very long. Next day morning after showering, I could still smell it. Does anyone know what makes this fragrance last so long on skin? I don't see ambergris or ambroxan listed here but I am pretty sure there is something like that in the fragrance. I am now seeking after the Insensé OG (the masculine floral benchmark).
A very unique and different fragrance. It opens with a distinctly fruity and slightly tart, citrusy sensation, which reflects the presence of blackcurrant and bergamot. It then evolves into a powdery stage, thanks to the iris. I notice a strong similarity to Creed’s Silver Mountain Water, but without the 'ink-like' aspect. If you enjoy the DNA of SMW, you'll likely enjoy this one too. I don't particularly get an old-school vibe as many people claim, but I understand the reference. Despite being unique, it’s not exactly a 'modern' fragrance. In any case, it’s a safe and easy blindbuy, very pleasant.
At first spray remind me ck eternity men less sweet juniper berries and insense marine more freshier than ck eternity with aquatic note.. i did enjoyed this one . For me perfume has no gender.. since i have complimentry 50ml dab on hand not spray version flanker from my ex airlines, singapore airlines.. we ussualy give away to1st class pax. Im glad i still keep it till now.. i have 2 bottle 50ml each.
Smells very good—fresh and pleasant—but has a distinct old-school aftershave vibe. Might not appeal to younger people in their 20s looking for a more modern scent
This is a very pleasant, fruity and floral fresh fragrance. There is no shortage of fresh fragrances on the market but I haven't come across many that smell like this. The opening is very fruity but the combination of notes used provides a unique take on fruitiness, which is what helps this fragrance stand out. The watermelon and the blackcurrant are the most dominant opening notes whenever I spray this. It dries down to something a bit earthier but with the sweet notes still present. I somewhat understand the furore of the description of this fragrance as synthetic. The opening notes are fruity but don't remind me of the actual fruits. They remind me of lollipops or sweets with those fruit flavours. I would hope most of us understand that fragrances utilise synthetic molecules regardless of the brand or price range but some fragrances do a better job of providing more realistic olfactory experiences. Performance wise - longevity is between 4 - 6hrs for me with moderate sillage for the first 1 - 1.5hrs. Good for spring, summer and air-conditioned environments. Office safe. All in all, a good buy for those want a fairly unique fresh fragrance.
Blue aquatic scent with watermelon splashes. It is NOT a light summer fragrance - be careful with spraying, as it has the tendency to last up to 10 hours with a solid projection. My 3rd bottle !!!! and yes it has an appealing uniqueness. You are setting yourself apart from the crowds. Performance: 7-10 hours Sillage: Ok at arms length For whom: Gentlemen >30 My background: I only write reviews about scents I have worn already (until the bottle is finished) or are in current use. I'm a Gentlemen - middle aged - predominantly in an executive office environment wearing suits and representing with many official gatherings
[Insenśe Ultramarine] Modern batch w/o Givenchy Branding ⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚪️ A shimmering, lightweight perfume. Not nearly as dated as I had anticipated, nor as heavy or juicy. However this truly does remind me of glistening skin after jumping out of the pool, as others have experienced. Other-others say it smells synthetic, which simultaneously opens up the can of worms concerning misinformation and hearsay regarding perfume materials. It is synthetic yes, as are countless perfumes on the market. But I feel people are likely commenting on the (then) trendy slug of dihydromyrcinol used in conjunction with large doses of other vague and transparent floral materials (e.g: linalool, linalyl acetate and high cis hedione). This, paired with the musk(s) make for a light and linear experience with a slight nod to Cool Water, although Ultramarine isn’t nearly as ironically dry. You get out what you put in to this experience. If you come through the door negatively and looking for faults, you’ll find them. If you go in with a sprinkle of optimism as I did, you can overlook any short comings and get your money’s-worth. I can however, appreciate that people coming from a beloved older formulation may receive this current version differently to myself. This perfume is new to me and purchased for £30 so I am a happy boy. That said, if the asking price was any higher, I would then take issue with the lack of bells and whistles. As it stands (with me), this is a charming little perfume that will see plenty of sun this coming summer.
@Jorjeyo Armstrongi -- methyl paraben is often found in food and cosmetics and is generally considered safe.
Yesterday I bought my 4th bottle but this time without Givenchy logo on the box even no "Givenchy " word on the bottle but under Givenchy beauty manufacturer .. batch 2021 .. don't know how is the smell or the performance !.. any way I ll keep it for the next summer if I ll still alive!..
This is among the more Oldschool even grandold school scents. That's not a negative comment . I have to mention this is meant to smell clean first and foremost. It has a soapy clean akin to Givenchy Gentleman 1974 (minus the patchouli) when scent wasn't about sweet or overwoody but clean and well dressed. The game has changed but barbershop territory clean still has it's place. I got this scent while hunting for givenchy gentleman intense. Needless to say when it arrived it wasn't what I was looking for but still a nice clean scent. More than nice!! My main observation is that it's clean and soapy based. Its not overly florally sweet not incredible masculinely woody. It has a bit of what I would describe as medicinally clean smelling. very unisex. The florals come out a bit more on my wife . It won't change your life as a scent but it smells nice and clean and can fit in anywhere. It reminds me of the bottles of clear patchouli that my uncle used to bring us from europe. no labels or marking but great perfume he would buy in the midlle oriental countries. It's a bit old school summer vacation in the 70's to me. Fragrances like music evoke times and places for me. Like Gentleman 74 this seems antiquated and irrelevant yet still really good. A good daily driver when you need to sprinkle something on but aren't in the mood for making coices that morning. My wife wears it daily and has gone through 1 /3 of the bottle. She works with the public and wears this or Cuba gold daily. Non invasive clean sents that generally garner nice compliments. Edit: I think this can become a person's signature scent. It's unique enough to not resemble anything I have known so far. My wife wears it quite a bit and I can instantly name it. It's a thing on it's own. Second bottle was bought since wife daily drives this and my Nautica Voyage.
Impactful and unique marine scent with pretty good performance for an EDT. But not my kinda scent to wear.
A unique juicy, fruity and refreshing perfume with excellent performance. I just love this. In my opinion, one of the nicest of all Summer fragrances.
