Irresistible Givenchy

Got it as a sample from Sephora; I was excited by the mention of pear, rose, and iris. When I received it in the mail, I spritzed it and got only an odd blast of pure musk, as though it were not floral, fruity, and clean, but instead overtly harsh, sharp, pungent, and dry, like the fragrance had snuck up through my nostrils and stabbed through to my head. It gave me such an awful headache the more I tried to like it. I don't mind powdery or musky scents, but I think that one base note, paired with the top and middle notes, ruined the experience for me, although a friend who sniffed the same sample called it a very feminine and pleasant scent. Shame, I don't think I have had such an experience with a scent until now :(

This masterpiece right here might become my favourite perfume of all time (and I have been only wearing it for 2 months). The story: I saw some people raving about it on TikTok so I gave it a chance. At first, I only bought a sample. Let me tell you, when I wore the sample the first and second time, I was not impressed. It was like an okay scent to me, but there was something in it that irritated my nose. However, my Italian husband loved it on me and couldn’t stop smelling it. When I ran out of the sample I was like: I won’t buy it. Eventhough my husband likes it, I can’t stand one note in it.. few weeks passed by and of course the thought of my husband liking it did not let this perfume out of my mind. I bought it in full size.. and girls, listen to me, when I sprayed the full size, I was blown away!! My nose somehow picked up on a different note this time, and I fell in love!! To me, it doesn’t smell soapy at all!! It smells like a fresh, juicy pear mixed with some flowers and musk. I can’t really describe the smell better. But when I tell you, that I am mostly a gourmand girlie in fragrances (Black Opium, Devotion etc..), and this perfume just shook my world. I have been using it for 2 months and literally anytime I wear it I can’t stop smelling myself!! Fun fact: I do not like rose perfumes.. but this perfume doesn’t even smell like rose to me. But if it does then it is a beautifully done, fresh, youthful rose, not a granny type one. I think that this fragrance is a wifey type of fragrance. I wouldn’t particularly say that it is for the young teen generation, but not for older women either. It is for younger or middle aged women like me. I can imagine a clean girl, or a wife, or a bride wearing it. No surprise my husband loves it. I tell to you: let’s give it a try. I did not like it at first, and now I can’t imagine my life without it. It is such an inoffensive scent. Also sometimes it happens to me that I get bored of a scent soon.. well, I repeat myself, I cannot stop smelling it after 2 months of use. And the best part is: sillage and longetivity to me is literally out of this world. Amazing.

soapy. rosy. slightly fruity in the opening. nothing special on its own. i bought it to layer with another perfume. quite generic by itself to be honest. not really worth the price point. if you want to buy this to layer onto another fragrance then go for it. however on its own? meh. there’s way better floral/fruity fragrances out there.

Super basic, bright floral. Nothing unique or memorable here, and longevity is shockingly bad.

Originally got this as a sample with an Ulta order and fell in love! Immediately went to go purchase the full size. I've put such a massive dent in it so quickly. I can see how people find it to be generic, but I see it as something that's easy to reach for when I don't want to think too much about what to wear that day. It's good for any occasion and any weather. Very feminine and sweet.

she's so chic and delicate. can't say i'm head over heels but at the same time, i have nothing to complain about besides longevity??? idk. she's an enigma to me, but is also so so plain. at least she's cute and bonus points for the lovely rose smell

It’s hard not to like this one but it’s very hard to love it. Basic fruity floral. To me it’s very close to Burberry Her with a hint of the Elixer version with none of the staying power. I guess pear smells like strawberry to me? Smells like Garnier fruity shampoo. Inoffensive and easy but nothing special. Staying power is not great on skin but ok on clothes. 1 hour on skin. 3-4 on clothing. If you use any form of scented lotion like B&BW or VS, it will overpower this perfume on your skin. If you get this on a second hand site for a great price buy it. Not worth full price at least to me.

This is a sparkly fruity girly shampoo scent. Honestly I find it okay, nothing crazy but it’s clean. I find it a bit screechy for a signature.

Powdered musk and iris... This is a sweet sheer powered iris with white musk. It is delicate, summery, but dusty to be specific. This is a beautiful blend indeed.

Love this on summer hot days. I had no idea this has pear which usually does not play well on my skin. To my nose it smells like strawberries and rose, and rose and berries is something I love and usually works on me.

I was excited about this one because I love a good fruity floral that evokes the colour pink, but this was extremely generic, however pleasant. Irresistible by Givenchy reminds me of Gingham Gorgeous (for 10x the price), or Kate Spade New York if one removed everything interesting about Kate Spade New York. It has that bright, juicy, almost candy-like or bubble-gummy opening you have likely smelled a thousand times before, in every form: perfume, body spray, lotion, shampoo, etc. The dry down is significantly soapier and muskier than the opening, and the previous comments about it smelling like dryer sheets are spot on. The longevity is moderate, but the projection and sillage are minimal. It would be hard to overspray. Suitable for those that like perfumes that aren't loud, or work in an office setting. The bottle is simple but pretty, modern yet also glamorous because of the faceted, crystalline back. If you don't yet have a fruity floral, this would be a good one to start with. If you - like myself - have many already, you likely don't need this one too. But, of course, who am I but a nosy cat on the Internet? I recommend walking into your local Sephora to give it a sniff anyway. It may surprise you; unfortunately, it did not surprise me. In its generic-ness and crowd-pleasing nature, it would make a good gift.

I don't know how people are getting the pear, maybe it's just my skin but all I get is a vaguely rosy noxious soap scent. smells like everything aimed at a feminine audience I've sampled at marshalls/winners. I can taste it through my morning coffee, it's atrocious. I'm happy some folk love this, I can see it as a very basic people-pleasing scent if applied lightly, but I genuinely can't. I need a shower now lol. I got it as a sample with a cosmetics order and the bottle is an opaque plastic with the poorest atomizer/spritzer ever---would've been better as a dabber or something---so can't vouch for the quality of the actual bottle's atomizer either.

Very romantic, i love the juice rose, since I don't really like rose as a note in perfumery, this is kind of different from other rosey perfumes, I really like this and I don't find this generic, since everybody is using gourmand perfumes, this is very beautiful

Soapy, fresh, girly, and above all a little generic. Wish I could smell the rose or the cedar even a little. I can't imagine spending the money on this just to smell like bath & body works body wash.

Smells very generic.

Like a mass-market shampoo marketed to ladies. This smells floral (I didn't even particularly pick up rose, just a general air of synthetic florality), with a light wood and pear aspect to it. It lasted about six hours on my skin, but with zero projection. Very quiet and feminine, and thus not really for me.

I’m on my second bottle. I think it’s a great value-for-money fragrance for daily use. The longevity isn’t bad at all; especially on clothes and in the room where I spray it, I can still smell it for days. I’m not too sure about the projection, but I do get compliments when people are close to me

Didn't go into this expecting much since I'm not a floral fan. At first this is intoxicatingly sweet. I'm not sure if it's the pear, but I get a strong bubblegum scent from it. Once that starts to settle, I start getting the rose. It stays a sweet floral through the dry down. Overall this is a sweet, youthful, inoffensive albeit forgettable, perfume. Not for me, but would be good for anyone who likes a sweet floral. Might get a little cloying in high heat though.

Such a beautiful smell! I couldn't afford full price, but I was so desperate that I bought a used bottle. A very nice skin scent on me, it smells like subtle rose-scented dryer sheets with a hint of soft pear. Adore it!!

Plasticy chemical etc

This is a really lovely fragrance! It's a bit fruity at first and stays very floral. It's sweet but not sugary. It's like a musky rose. It's a little pricey, but not too expensive.

This is lovely. I dont normally like rose in perfumes but here it it very well blended and soft. Lasts well. Good for work. I think it just smells nice which is a good thing.

I was blown away by the phenomenal opening of the crisp and fruity pear and rose combo. So much that I ordered a full bottle immediately. Way too early, as it dried down to a very unpleasant nauseating musky scent which reminded me of old dusty houses and very old ladies. I don't think I ever noticed such a huge shift in a perfume before. Had to cancel my order.

Love this perfume. I used to be a Chance Eau Tendre signature scent girl for years before I knew anything about perfume, then I went to Burberry Her for a while, and now I'm really liking Irresistible. It wasn't a love at first sniff and I'm not sure what changed, but after my second sample and some time, it's now a favorite. It lights up a part of my brain every time I smell it and makes me so happy. I'm pretty sure it's the pear doing this for me. Fruity, watery, musky, effortlessly gorgeous. Now I'll be on the hunt for more pear perfumes!

This is my go to when I need a fresh, clean and “safe” scent, for example for work events and in warmer weather. It’s beautiful and very easy to wear, and it always makes me feel pretty and put together. I’m on my second bottle and will always have it in my collection. Love to alternate it with Idole and Libre in the spring.

It is a nice, inoffensive fragrance. On my skin, I smell the pear note more than anything else. So, it is more fruity than floral on me but the fruity note is not too sweet. So, overall, it is pretty nice.

The whole line is sexy. Irresistible, indeed.

One of the safest feminine office scents. Linear. Non-offensive. It’s always good to have a few of these type of fragrances in your collection.
