This scent is a sugar steeped pear and peach with a musky rose AND vanilla.. it reminds me of "pheromone" perfumes. Shiny syrup sweet and musky. Result: Cloying and kinda smutty. Then again i like classic chypres like Mitsouko and the aldehydic oriental grand dame type perfumes, which can also be smutty, see Arpege. But the aldehydes and spice elevate it beautifully.

I have misjudged Petit Cherie as I had a sample that smelled like generic light fruit shampoo. I still felt the instinct to buy a full bottle regardless, now I smell it properly. This is innocent childhood in a bottle, clean hair, freshly washed clothes, ripe fruit specifically peaches and pear, soft skin, being fussed over in a gentle way. There is something tender and innocent that is in a lot of Goutal fragrances. It is classy, elegant, and feminine.

oh this one is sooo lovely <3 i recently purchased leila lou from by / rosie jane, but i think this is much more delicate version of that perfume. it's far more airy, perhaps even unisex, and fresh. i think this might be a my dream spring fragrance, it's so inoffensive and chic!

If A Goodnight Kiss is the scent of the mother I imagine, then Petite Chérie is the scent of the mother I remember. My memory of my mother’s smell has never been complete. It always appears in fragments—briefly, when I am close to her, carried lightly by the air. The pear note in Petite Chérie brings me back immediately to the moment she cuts fruit. A freshly peeled pear—watery, slightly green, with a soft sweetness. The smell is brief and light, but so real that it makes my heart soften. Then a hint of grass appears. In everyday life, that note feels like the scent she carries home from outside, like the faint smell of the market lingering on her clothes. She was never surrounded by flowers, but her presence existed in the quiet rhythms of daily life. The rose and lilac are very subtle here. They don’t feel like flowers arranged in a vase. Instead they resemble the traces left on her clothes—shampoo, skincare, the faint scent of a wardrobe. All of it blending together over time, gradually becoming her scent, the smell that stayed with me for so long. When the fragrance settles close to the skin, leaving only white musk and a touch of vanilla, I always think of those moments when I sat beside her. On holidays she would sit next to me knitting, keeping me company under the soft light of a lamp. That quiet warmth, a scent that didn’t need anyone else to notice—it belonged only to me. Petite Chérie is, objectively, a simple perfume. Pear, grass, florals, and soft musk with a hint of vanilla. But together they don’t create an idealized image of a mother. They create the scent of a real mother—someone you truly knew and lived with. Perhaps that is why, at certain moments, it can catch you completely off guard. Mom, I love you❤️

This is probably not the most complex fragrance you'll ever smell, but nonetheless I find it beautiful in its simplicity. Fresh, bright, youthful, sparkly and sweet. Very inoffensive, suitable for school and workplace beacuse the sweetness isn't overbearing. I also own Pear Inc by JHAG, and love it as well, they are similar but not the same (Pear Inc's drydown is way muskier due to the ambroxan) (Also I might be biased because I got the full bottle for less than half the price)

Tried this once - not memorable.

A very generic, sweet, safe and pleasant one. Smells like pear shampoo and reminds me of my childhood home, how my bathroom smelled … A very sweet soapy nostalgic scent for me. Love it. - Bhavna Darira Chesan

I first fell in love with Petite Chérie after smelling it on my mom. It was so captivating that I'd sneak a few sprays every morning before going to school. I still have that same bottle today, and it's over a decade old, which speaks volumes about my attachment to this fragrance. I love the youthful and feminine character of this scent. To me, it stands apart from common teenage fragrances—it's a little classy, sweet, powdery, and fruity. My favorite aspect is the dominant, sweet, ripe, and juicy pear and peach combination. It has a beautiful sweetness that is never headache-inducing to me. I also catch the powdery rose, which lends a clean, well-put-together quality to the scent. It's a truly lovely combination. However you'd need reapplication due to its weak longevity. I can understand why some people might say it has a "grandma" scent; it does carry a certain vintage, nostalgic feel. However, I believe its timeless quality makes it truly wonderful for all ages. I recently purchased a refill.

не понравился "совсем", для меня звучит неприятно ((( из за чего именно объяснить не могу...(( Жалею, что купила..

By Rosie Jane smells just like this throughout the initial stage. Fresh-cut grass in the most pleasant way, is what I thought when I purchased my AGPC bottle almost 10 years ago. It went bad, by the way😕 I may purchase another bottle of this soon.

A somewhat gross pear smell, perhaps the grass or peach make it smell off. It's like rotten, brown pear, too soft and overly ripe. It does improve a bit, but it's just sooo much pear. Then, the grass becomes more identifiable and the peach becomes stronger. No other notes. Nauseating. I would not want to smell this or smell like this, ever.

Freezing chlorinated water vibes. I said snowcone, my partner said pool. I'm talking about the dry down here. The opening is pure pear shampoo and fruity and annoying. Wait for the dry down. It's a beautiful cheap fruity snowcone. Out of the goutal discovery set, this is number 2, right below nuit et confidences.

This is the most perfect pear shampoo scent! It opens like a pear jelly belly, and then you get fresh hints of grass in the background. Then it dries down into a light fruity shampoo. Not much projection and doesn’t last, but I am an oversprayer and don’t mind reapplying.

Анонім

Very light but nice “pear” and “peach” scent. Those are the only notes I really smell but it is very nice. Not complex enough for the price, and kinda reminds me a little of a fruity bath & body works spray.

Анонім

Sporty and juicy. Ripe pear with the perfect amount of tartness. Soapy base notes very reminiscent of L'Oreal Kids Shampoo. The scent is light and well balanced. It fades quite quickly - would need reapplying 4-5 times in a day, and it doesn't ever become a skin scent, just disappears. It is bright innocent fruity and soapy. Petite Cherie is well executed... photorealistic notes and that blend nicely. It is admittedly hard to find a young fruity scent that is not clingy or plasticy or that becomes suffocating.. which is why it doesn't surprise me that it is expensive or that it is french and not american. I could see splurging on a bottle and using it up one summer, enjoying the frivolity. But I could not see repurchasing or it or it becoming any sort of timeless signature. That being said it would make a fitting present for a 14-17 year old niece in that awkward in between phase. It would at once make her feel feminine, grown up and playful and full of youth. It is also a mood booster. Maybe Petite Cherie along with a copy of Bonjour Tristesse. I just feel like it's a great scent but not a great perfume. Please could I get a deodorant or a laundry detergent, soap, in Petite Cherie instead. Does that resonate with anyone else?

This does something (physically) to my nose, like it’s calming the receptors and then brings the signal of comfort to my brain. I’ve never had a perfume that did this to me before. It’s like a whiff of pent sweetness from pear and peach, with its tanginess and a little something green in the background. The silage is not crazy, something proper for this type of scent. It’s adorable, something that lift up your mood by bringing comfort.

Анонім

It's beautiful on first spray but it is so light, and on me there is almost no longevity.

This is everything I wish JHAG Pear Inc was. I don’t really get musk or vanilla, just fresh fruity florals (kind of a shampoo scent if you’re thinking of those green Garnier bottles). It’s giving a less sweet version of fizzy IKEA sparkling pear juice with elderflower syrup. The pear is green and tart but definitely a bit synthetic, not in a bad way. I might be insane but the tartness of the pear in the opening is reminiscent of those tiny green guava candies from Asian markets (you know what I’m talking about). VERY grassy, and with the florals it’s kind of like standing under a pear tree and gardenia bush on a freshly mowed lawn. Definitely a bit of an intimate projection, but on hot days this is my “cool down” frag.

I adore this perfume so much that I own two bottles, which really says something because I get bored easily when it comes to scents. Petite Chérie is that perfect blend between fresh and fruity that I didn’t know I needed. I’ve always loved clean perfumes — think watery, grassy, like early morning air after rain — but I also have a soft spot for fruity notes, especially peach, which happens to be included in some of my favorite perfumes. At first spritz, it might not be for everyone. Even my sisters didn’t love it when I sprayed it in-store but fast forward 30 minutes, once it’s settled on my skin, they started complimenting it. That dry-down is chef’s kiss; soft, charming, and quietly joyful. For me though, I wear perfume for myself, and Petite Chérie feels like a little moment of happiness every time I catch a whiff. It’s fresh, it’s subtly sweet, and it has a certain tender warmth that’s comforting without ever being overwhelming. A modern fairytale in a bottle. 🍑💐

Pear is such a beautiful and refined scent. I discovered Petite Cherie 20 years ago, at the Goutal area, in the Harrods perfume halls. It just felt so perfect, juicy young pear, sweet but light with the perfect balance, smelling "natural". It is a love for me and something I am extremely attached to, but I also realise that as I grow older, I like it just slightly less. This is a refined, elegant, young, and optimistic woman perfume, you can't go wrong 🤍🍐

This was my signature scent for 20 years. It is somehow sweet (not too sweet), floral, fresh and very lightly creamy because of the vanilla. I've since realized that any combo of pear, rose and vanilla is a love for me. But it truly is a perfect crossroads of fresh, floral, fruity and sweet. The only problem is that my skin really amps up metallic notes, and there is a slight one in this...that is part of what makes it sing..but as I've gotten older, I need something with a bit more warmth. Still, this will always be a true love of mine...so many beautiful memories...so huggable and delightful. It is no surprise that Annick Goutal created this scent for her daughter...it speaks of that kind of love.

Genuinely one of the most delicious scents in the world-- lasts a long time and is so beautiful I could cry. She's one of the most expensive perfumes I have, but I think she's worth it. A vibe that is similar in it's delicate and sweet notes but maybe a little more grown up and not fruity is Dark Amber & Ginger Lily cologne by Jo Malone.

A fun one! Bright, sparkly, but somewhat forgettable. Lovable, but chemical and fleeting. Smells like shampoo for children, bubblegum, fruity soap. It is suprisingly reminiscent of smells used in childhood cosmetics, and it does stay for about 5-6 hours. It is reminiscent of pear, but like, pear hard-candy. It's pretty unique, with the only similar thing that I have encountered being Moschino Toy2 Bubblegum (the pink one), which is not too similar as this is less sweet and much more soapy, but shares a note that lives in childhood soaps. Safe for office work. I must declare this does not mesh with my skin, sadly - it does not smell clean, but devolves into a sharp, pear-flavoured floral soap mess, feeling as if I didnt wash off a shower gel properly, like soap still caught in my hair. It smells like i need to get back into the shower to get it off. 😂 I can't stand it on me. Basically, while I do acknowledge the uniqueness, it's not for me. The sample made for a beautiful bathroom refresher which I thoroughly enjoyed, but I am afraid I will neither rebuy it nor upsize it.

Sweet, delicate and innocent...this smells of blushing modesty and soft laughter. That scene of your favorite Kdrama where the high IQ rookie lawyer with anxieties falls into the chest of the handsome junior from the firm that all of the ladies desire but he wants nothing to do with them. Yep. Shandurai from Besieged wears this.

Nothing. I smell nothing. The slightest whiff of fruit and then nothing. Maybe my sample's off.

Анонім

Smells just like a fruity kids’ shampoo from my childhood. Maybe L’Oreal in the fish head bottle?

This perfume is so fresh, fruity, and fun and it feels very French, too. I’d definitely say it leans way more girly than mature. I love pear, and this fragrance captures it perfectly: a crisp, juicy, cold pear straight out of the fridge, the kind you bite into and instantly feel refreshed. It’s playful, clean, and memorable. I can still smell the pear even in the dry down, which keeps that fresh, juicy feeling going longer than expected. Petite Chérie by Goutal is the kind of perfume I’d buy for my 15 year old daughter, but also one I’d spray on myself whenever I want feel full of life. This perfume is the total opposite of teenage dirtbag vibes (no hate)

Pear equals grandma?? Since when? What makes people say such asinine things?
