they should call this one L'Instant Die because that's what people who wear this should do. Dieeeeeee. It would still be true to the original moniker because that would be magical.

Baby Magic Baby Lotion the original scent in the pink bottle. That’s it. That’s the scent. I have 3 children and immediately recognized it. To me, it’s 1:1 the same smell. If you want to know if you’ll love this perfume go buy a $5 bottle of the lotion. I happen to love it. It feels soft and clean. I sell a lot of fragrances on Mercari once I’m tired of them so the same small town post office lady sees me weekly. I had this scent on today and it’s the first time she’s complimented me. She went on to say that almost all perfumes trigger a migraine for her (I’ve probably given her so many) and this is the first one she truly enjoys smelling. She could smell it from 3 feet away 2 hours after I sprayed it. This is definitely inoffensive and would be safe for any event.

So what if it smells like baby wipes? It smells lovely; I’m really enjoying it. My skin smells wonderful—like the most expensive body cream. It really reminds me of Chanel Comète on the skin; it has that same luxurious body-cream feel, but without the vintage base notes. It just gives me that feeling of wearing Guerlain—I feel and smell fabulous.

i can't wear this yet because i need to meet the loml and get married and give birth to a daughter and open up a bookshop and also move to london first . sigh

so beautiful, delicate, cozy. smells like the memory of hugging your mom as a kid, a newborn baby's head, cuddling with your cat on a lazy morning. immediately became one of my favorite scents ever. it does have a baby wipe or cream sort of scent but it's also so cozy and comforting that the association doesn't take away from the experience, in fact adds to it imo. i love this so much, so gentle, calming and comforting, and very versatile. could be a warm summer evening, a cozy autumn or winter perfume. could be for running errands, catching up with your girlfriends over coffee, going to bed after a shower, getting intimate with your lover (not a hookup), or even a wedding day scent. smells like warm hugs, love and hope. i don't know how else to describe it.

I am as guilty of blind buying as I am of sampling fragrances I never go on to purchase, so today I decided to sample several perfumes I'd been on the cusp of a blind buy and L'instant magic was one of them. This is the sort of fragrance you'd wear to make a personal statement of sorts that although your personal uniform is business smart on the outside, your lingerie will always made of slinky silk and sin on the inside. L'instant magic is pink softness, cuddly powderiness, baby girl vibes and 100% feminine wiles. She is most definitely going on the wishlist now!

Beautiful soft baby powder ish scent. Definitely fleeting. I pretty much own every other ones that are said to be similar. This one is special.

This brings to mind that delicate pink rose in the garden saturated in morning dew. It's a whisper of loveliness wrapped in gentle waves of softness. It is subtle, more of an intimate scent and perfect for a young girl as well as a mature woman.

Great for healthcare workers. It’s soft and powdery. Layers well with Chance Eau Tendre to kick it up a notch. Perfect for a young girl getting into perfumes.

Those who say this perfume smells like baby wipes have a point. It is a fresh scent, it does not overwhelm, and upon first use, it feels like a mother's embrace, but after a while, it starts to get boring. Somehow, it feels like it lacks depth. The perfume actually changes compared to its opening, but how should I put it, it is like a nice cologne. Even like a baby cologne. It is pleasant, but for me, there is nothing to make a big deal out of. It can be a blind buy; I think it is safe. But it is also not a perfume that I want to smell constantly. It was my last perfume before entering the niche perfume world. I had blind bought it. I do not regret it; I will use it until the bottle is finished. I can say it is an innocent scent. But I do not think I will buy it again when the bottle is empty. I guess I will always want to keep a powdery scent on hand, but this is not it.

The musk is placed right in the heart here, and you can really feel it. It's clearly not functioning as a base note; it truly sits at the center of the composition. This is a very soft, creamy fragrance, like a beauty product, which is not something I usually associate with Guerlain. They certainly make soft and clean perfumes, but this one carries a texture that recalls baby wipes. It smells like a high-end baby cream - if that is the atmosphere you are looking for. It is deeply comforting, motherly, warm, and enveloping. Like a cashmere blanket wrapped around you. Musk blended with almond cream. It is also strong and long-lasting, so you remain cocooned in it for hours. I think I would feel overwhelmed wearing this daily, but it is pretty. It absolutely has its place in a collection.

Smells like hope to me. When I wear this perfume, I feel untouchable, like nobody can hurt me. Yes, it smells like baby wipes — but when I first got into perfumes, I couldn’t really understand the stories behind them. I looked at fragrances very simply.I’m still an amateur but over time,I started to notice the depth inside certain perfumes. You can compare perfumes with to many things, but truly beautiful ones reveal different emotions and stories as they develop on the skin. This is one of those perfumes. Smells so pure and innocent that sometimes I can barely bring myself to spray it. It feels like hugging the child inside me. It fills me with hope. Clean, soft, angelic… matches the color of the bottle perfectly. If angels had a scent, I think they would smell like this 🫠 The projection and longevity are not amazing, but they’re good enough. And it works beautifully in every season. They are similar to The Favourite by Penhaligon’s but I think the difference between them is their aura.The Favourite feels warmer, softer and mature -I think because of the violet and mimosa- almost like an older sister of L’instant Magic.And L’Instant Magic feels cooler,cleaner,and more protective — like a soft shield around me. But both are beautiful and regardless of age,this is just the difference in aura they create for me

I love everything about L’Instant Magic edp! 😍 It is soft, airy and beautifully refined powdery. The florals stay sheer and well-blended while the almondy, musky warmth adds the creaminess that I love. The delicate, slightly sweet powdery veil gives it a quiet, luminous elegance feel. 🥰❤️

I've gone through bottle after bottle of this to get to where I am today, I used it so much that I'm struggling to review it because this thing has become part of me. After not wearing it for weeks, on the first wear I can start to pick apart the parts that are separate from my own self. The old bottle was the peak version, nothing to say about that, but this formulation is lovely too. It's still something that wows me every single time... Yes, this is an anisic baby powder, musk, rose and almond. Something fairytale-like... The new version doesn't mention these notes, and looking at what's listed it seems like it shouldn't be powdery, but it very much is. Compared to the old one, I think there's a touch more woody-floral quality up front, but the overall feel is similar. The baby has grown up a little, but just a little. The almond here isn't the fluffy floating-around kind, it's closer to the nutty, bitter and woody type. The actual fluffy part comes from the powder and musk duo to me. Baby powder with bitter almond and clean bergamot, a favorite for winter. It's blended well that it gives me fairy dust. I can see how this can be polarizing due to the slight sharpness that bergamot gives it and that it resembles baby powder, baby wipes etc.

Love at first sniff! Gentle powdery sweetness but counteracted with bergamot bite. It almost has a leather suede dry down with the tonka that makes me think of ballet shoes. It’s is so beautiful, almost precious, staying close to you. Projection is not the best but think this would be too cloying if it were heavier. Utterly delectable you but better without the ambrox headache. I hope this never gets discontinued! As someone else said if you like Soufflé Marais this one is for you.

This smells like taking a wrong turn in the supermarket and ending up on the baby products aisle. If you like the smell of baby powder, you'll love this. I do not 😂

Bitter, sweet, powdery, unique, pleasant. Has a distinctive niche perfume bitterness. You can sense the rose note from the opening.

This enchanting perfume is perfect for every day in cooler weather. It reminds me of the ballet suites of Tchaikovsky. It is very long lasting on the skin, even though it certainly does not have powerhouse sillage, and that is preferable to me as I am often at Mass or otherwise in a church setting. The bergamot in the opening is radiant, and then the rose tinged musk is so pretty and calming. The almond is not very pungent, but smooth and harmonious (I really like almond, but I wouldn't say this is strongly nutty). This is rather an ideal perfume for me. I am happily wearing L'Instant Magic every day right now.

I tried to love this one many times but I just couldn’t, even though I’m a very soft powdery scent lover, this one’s opening comes so harsh to my nose I feel there’s much more citrusy note in the opening than bergamot alone, the dry down is better but still nothing special about this perfume, guerlain has much better soft fragrances that worth enjoying.

If baby powder is unisex then this is unisex. Smells 100% identical to baby powder then gradually dries down into baby powder + vanilla. I haven't smelled Matiere Premiere's Vanilla Powder but I can't imagine it smelling like anything other than precisely this with that name.

PowderLovers 100%. 10/10. Yes this smells like a baby's powder. However, the baby in question operates an antique bookshop and files her own taxes.

I love Guerlain and powdery perfumes but this smelled sweet and cloying on me, perhaps due to the almond (which is a note I dislike). One of the few powdery perfumes I actually agree smells like baby wipes–or baby vomit.

Powdery dream, I'm obsessed with it! It's fluffy and warm and kind of innocent smelling. I almost convinced myself that maybe I don't like musky fragrances because they all have this overwhelming rose note that makes me nauseous but this one is literally perfect. Baby wipes? Maybe, but they usually smell fantastic so I don't mind it.

Try and compare this to Souffle Marais Eau de Parfum Massimo Dutti ... silent lux

One of the most beautiful perfumes I know. It’s neither loud nor bold, it’s definitely in the „inoffensive floral musk“ kinda family, nothing you have never smelled vibe-wise, there are several similar fragrances on the market (see Narciso R. Poudrée, for instance). However, within this genre (and to me, also in general,) this is easily one of the best - conventionally pretty, yet distinctive, exuding quality and masterful composition. What you see note-wise, is pretty much what you get, this perfume is quite true to its listed notes. The rose, however, is quite unusual - I wouldn‘t have detected it as such if I hadn‘t known. It rather smells unspecifially „pink-floral“ to me. So if you usually aren‘t a rose fan like myself, you should still give this one a try. It starts out rather crisp and citrusy due to the bergamot, which quickly subsides and stays as a subtle fresh facet that blends seamlessly into the rest of this dreamy composition. While this feels rather light, I think it has enough substance in the base to be worn in colder weather as well, which makes it a great allrounder. I feel like you always get a good idea of a scent working with associations. When I smell L‘Instant Magic, I think: soft, fluffy, pink clouds, velvet, angelic, powdery, classic, femininity, put-together, cleanliness, freshly washed white sheets, slightly vintage, unintentional sexiness, sensuality, (luxurious) babywipes, lotion, light pink, cosmetic, dreamy, ethereal, fairies, beauty. I also have to think of the song „Angels All Around Me“ by Kali Uchis, which captures the essence of this scent quite well to me. I agree with Guerlain‘s description of this being innocent, but sensual at the same time. As mentioned above, this has a distinct unintentional sexiness. The musk, which is inspired by skin, (as well as the sandalwood, and the slightest vanillic sweetness, maybe from tonkabean) makes this scent feel very intimate and thus sensual. It‘s sexy in a way that modest fashion can be sexy. It‘s not overtly trying, it feels like you got to smell the wearer, because you got close to her in a way that most people won‘t. It reminds me of movie scenes, where the male protagonist unintentionally gets a glimpse of skin of his crush, and he can‘t help but secretly stare and admire her beauty, while he knows he should look away as a gentleman. L‘Instant Magic is that glimpse of skin. It‘s not an Alien oder Libre Intense that you can smell meters away and whose wearer overtly wanted to be noticed and perceived a certain way. L’Instant Magic is effortless in that regard and seemingly unintentionally sensual and sexy.
