Power Self

This is a beautiful, creamy floral musk, perfect for spring and summer 🌸 I purchased Power Self around three or four months ago and absolutely loved it from the very beginning. However, being winter here in Australia, and with so many new fragrances joining my collection, I hadn't reached for it as often as I would have liked. Now that spring has finally arrived, I've brought this beauty out again, and it's gorgeous! To my nose, it's a beautiful combination of soft florals, delicate powderiness, creamy sweetness and musk. The osmanthus is particularly prominent on my skin, lending a gorgeous floral character with a subtle fruity nuance. I really love how nicely everything comes together.. The powderiness is soft while the creamy, sweet musky undertones give it a lovely smoothness and warmth. It's feminine, elegant and effortlessly pretty. There's something wonderfully uplifting about Power Self. It has an airy, delicate quality, yet there's enough creaminess and sweetness to make it feel comforting and beautifully rounded. I think this fragrance truly comes into its own during spring and summer, particularly in the warmer Australian climate. I'm so pleased to have brought this beauty back into rotation. It's reminded me exactly why I fell in love with it in the first place. Absolutely gorgeous! 💕

Pretty. If you like Delina, Delina La Rosée, Musc Nurasana, Roses On Ice, Rose Atlantic etc. you will like this. I like this alot. It's super pretty. The musk and the rose pull strong on my skin. It makes me feel dainty and feminine. I doubt it will be a repeat purchase as there's nothing about it that stands out but I will enjoy it whilst I have it.

Power Self Initio Parfums Prives: 9/10 Obsessed with this style of Luminous Clean Airy Floral Musky Rose mehn.. So Elegant.. I want to Smell like this every single day.. It smells like a very Wealthy Young Gorgeous Woman. If you love Scents like PDM's Delina A La Rosée, Diptique's Eau Rose, Alghabra's Bosphorus Pearl- You'll adore this one.

✨ Rosy silk 🌸 The opening is a clean, luminous hit of delicate sweetness. This bright aura settles on the body incredibly smoothly, feeling like the most expensive, cool silk to the touch. I mainly sense a radiant, well-groomed rose that emanates an extremely feminine and clean energy. It is an absolutely beautiful, luxurious space where you can feel very safe and comfortable. The problem, however, is that it has all been done before. Although it is an absolute pleasure to wear, it lacks any surprise or edge. Some of these reviews put it perfectly, soft florals with a tiny tint of fruitiness, with a musk and ambroxan base that carries through. Whilst this surprised me with how pleasant it is, I wouldn’t say it’s my usual go to, but I think on a warm summer day this is a good, clean laundry esque scent if you like that vibe. This being a largely clean floral make it lean feminine, but honestly anyone can pull this off, if you like a light, musky rose I’d give it a wear

Power Self from Initio is not quite as the name would suggest. Although I like the scent itself, it's not really a fragrance that suits my preferences. The florals are very present and they invoke a certain cleanliness that I find appealing.

Upon the initial spray, you're greeted with a blend of rose and white floral notes, accompanied by a subtle fruity element that remains somewhat hard to pin down what fruit it is. The opening is soft and light, presenting a distinctly feminine vibe. About half an hour in, a clear ambroxin note emerges, weaving seamlessly with the initial floral bouquet. As the fragrance develops, you’ll notice that after the one-hour mark, it takes a turn toward a stronger musky aroma that dominates the scent profile. While I found myself surrounded by the musky and ambroxin combination on my skin, my clothes continued to hold onto the floral notes well into the day. In terms of performance, Power Self showcases impressive projection and sillage during the first hour. However, post the initial burst, it settles closer to the skin, lasting about four hours on my skin. On my clothes, the scent lingered for the rest of the day, though you'd need to lean in to truly experience it. Overall, Power Self isn’t quite my style. The opening is heavily skewed towards the feminine side, with the white florals imparting a clean girl aroma. While the fragrance does shed its overt femininity during the drydown, I still didn’t feel comfortable enough with the opening to wear it confidently

I agree that this smells very similar to Chloe. It’s ok. The opening is horrible, but it dries down to a pretty rose musk. I don’t get much of the white florals, which is disappointing.

I have this perfume for a year. I bought it quickly after falling in love with a sample. I really love this perfume but longevity and projection is disappointment. I can't smell it on myself after 1-2 hours. It stays longer on clothes if I stick my nose into my shirt I can smell it. I can't do more than 1-2 sprays because I will choke myself - the opening is quite powerful (pink pepper and something that smells like gasoline). Is this suppose to be a skin scent? I also have Musk Therapy by Initio which is a skin scent and 2 sprays last 12 hours on me, I still can smell Musk Therapy on myself it after a long day. I found myself picking something else in my collection and not Power Self. Recently I started using it as a comfort and bed perfume. Oh well

No power in this perfume. Only good for office. Smells like good body cream in an hour and stays few hours on skin

It's a fresh rose rather than a jammy rose so fresh rose + musk gives it a rose bathroom scent vibe. I don't love it.

Save yourself the money and get Swiss Arabian Musk 07, they’re almost identical on skin! It is a beautiful fragrance that reminds me a lot Delina Exclusif or Delina mixed with Atomic Rose. Quite beautiful but only lasts 2 hours at most.

I’m not an Initio glazer. In fact I dislike most of their lineup. But I must say I love this one. Very safe fresh rose scent. I love it so much that I bought a FB. It sucks that it leans too much feminine. I can’t wear it at all. I traded it away to my friend… well but I still have a sample Initio included with it to enjoy. Still can enjoy what’s left of it…

I got this as a tester at a great discount. Otherwise, I may not have purchased. Don't get me wrong, it's nice. It's rose. It's another nice rose perfume. Honestly, the opening is fabulous. Sweet, peppery, floral - almost gave off a clean fruity vibe. Not too strong. Every day wear safe. But the dry down? Disappointing, to say the least. Like I said, it just turns into "another nice rose" perfume. Not as potent as Delina La Rosee. It holds onto the clean scent longer - which is probably why it is getting compared to Valaya. I have not tried Atomic Rose, so I can't compare. For the price point of Initio, this should have been a bit more interesting than just another nice rose, IMO.

I understand, why people are mentioning Chloé, but this is a dark version. A goth sister of Chloé. Longevity could be better, but if you can grab it for cheaper, do so. Because this is a sexy scent.

I've been playing with my decants of Initio's new rose releases, and I have to say Power Self is not my favorite. Compared with Can't Get Enough, it's rather lackluster. As others have said below, definitely not unique enough to be worth the Initio price tag. However, I tried layering with it and this is a really great base for lighter rose scents. Edit: 3 weeks later, as the temperatures have risen, this has become a lot more enjoyable. Could this be a really great summer evening rose scent?

Loved it on a blotter, impatiently was waiting for testing it on myself and when it happened, I was like “ why to buy it if you have Chloe for less money?” I usually love what Initio has, but this one is too simple and old story.

I love this one. I read the reviews and I was a bit afraid because it was a blind buy, but I don't regret it. Is a very beautiful and well blended mix between musk and roses, with a hint of pepper in the opening😍. For me it seems like a mix between Valaya and Delina.

Man in the luxury perfume store: “Have you tried Initio?” Me: “Yes, I’ve had a few in the past but to me they smell like chemicals, ambrox super, ISO-E which I don’t like.” Man: “Have you tried Musk Therapy?” Me: “Yes, I’ve had it and it smells like these chemicals.” Man: “How about Power Self?” Me: “I’m open, let’s try it.” Then he douses me (including my clothing) in ambrox super but this time with musk and rose and I now smell like Elnett hairspray. FYI: it smells exactly like Ajmal’s Wisin which is so much cheaper, so if you like Power Self get Wisal (the silver not the gold).

Rosy and white floral with a subtle woody nuance. It has a juicy floral accord that smells quite natural. The base is a smooth musky base. Velvety. Your basic pink meets white floral musk but high quality ingredients. For a western nose, this is decisively feminine. In the middle east, very unisex. Moderate sillage and longevity.

I absolutely adore this fragrance! Yes, a musky rose perfume isn’t that novel, but I get a really prominent fruity osmanthus note from this that I can’t get from other musky roses. I love osmanthus, so this is a love for me. The rose in this isn’t screechy; I find the rose in PdM Delina and Delina La Rosee to be more sharp.

This stuff is so good that I kept revisiting it. I’m happy that I chose this as one of the samples Initio offered when buying their products. Vibrant rose and clean musk. Projects pretty well. Airy and inoffensive.

I have tested this a couple of times now and I don’t think I like it. I like most Initio fragrances so I’m a bit surprised by this one. It’s a bit unusual to my nose. There is a sharp rose to begin with which I guess is where the delina comparison comes from but it doesn’t smell like delina. I get the musk which is nice but this dries down kind of sweaty on me and I have to wash it off. Sadness.

Huh, the opening was a like. Musky, creamy, floral. I did not get a rose scent out of this, at any stage. Delina, Chloé? Nope. This scent went all over the place and at one point the base was very similar laundry esk like blanche. It sweetened up and at one point it was just too sweet for me. It also reminded me of Jardin L'orangerie at a certain stage. Creamy, orangeblossem. It's lovely, very crowdpleasing but I agree with the overal opinion that it's overpriced and brings nothing new. I do like it. Tested on skin and blotter. Lasting power is excellent. Washed my hand several times that day, still noticable after that... 👍 Blotter still wafting after 3 days.

Power Self Initio is a soft, very feminine powdery fragrance , like a marshmallow, gentle and a touch creamy. It’s lovely, but not new to my nose. It reminds me a lot of Micalef’s Note Vanille, which I already have and love. I don’t feel the need to buy Power Self because Note Vanille already gives me that exact comfort.

A very versatile and soft fragrance that is easy to wear in many settings, however, it does not have the longevity or projection typically expected from Initio. It has a gentle character that reminds me of Chloé, but in a more subtle and understated way. It is pleasant but it does not quite justify its high price point given its performance. A nice scent overall, but not one I would consider great value for money.
