I rate it ok, because the scent profile is beautiful but the power and performance is miserable. It's little citrusy, turns into something which reminds me of spiced rum, gets a powdery and slightly syrupy sweet drydown but it dies off in less than 4 hours. That's how the new batches perform
oop! Homme Wild Review As someone who loves the original Joop! Homme, I mentioned in my previous review that I’d grab its other flankers if I ever found them. Well, I managed to get my hands on Joop! Homme Wild at an incredibly cheap price. Yes, it still winks at the classic DNA, but it does so while staying on a much sexier side. The cinnamon has been toned down a bit, and the rum note has been turned up. On the very first spray, it gives you that "wow, this is it" effect. However, once the scent settles down, it quickly takes on the classic Joop! Homme character. It’s still not exactly the same—it’s much wilder. Although some say it has been modernized, it still feels as classic as ever. There is definitely a very attractive side to this perfume. The sweet, rum-infused scent coming off a well-groomed man over 30 wearing a nice jacket might make you stop and think, "Whoa, what is that?" This fragrance will absolutely turn heads and get the job done anywhere. The only downside is its projection. No matter how long-lasting it is, the sillage stays quite low; despite being such a dense fragrance, it doesn't travel very far. Though, perhaps that's just a matter of my own skin chemistry. My journey continues—I'm on the hunt for the other Joop! Homme flankers!
Anyone who says this smells like One Million has clearly never smelled it. This is a modernized take on the original Homme. It’s not old-man or old-lady-like at all — it’s a sweet, floral, youthful release, though not “Wild” in any way. Versatile enough to wear anytime except in extreme heat.
Spiced tea with a powdery white tobbaco and a musky fruity booze accord. Very unique scent,
So I recently bought a new bottle for the first time in years. What immediately struck me was: - The purple colour of the bottle seems darker than I remember - The grey, slightly marbled, heavy-ish cap is now replaced by a cheap black plastic one - Sprayer feels different and makes a more clickey sound than I remember. Then for the scent itself: - As someone mentioned below, the focus of the scent seems to be mainly on the Musk now - The older version seemed complexer, more layered. Also, the White tobacco seemed to have touches of neroli, or other white florals. In the new batch, these are almost impossible to detect. - Though it's not part of the scent pyramid, the top notes are definitely not just the mentioned pepper. Wouldn't be surprised if a blood orange accord is also used. Still though: for the very low price this has, It's a very solid original scent. I'll try to get my hands on an old batch, so I can compare the two.
Fantastic value for money, the only thing for me I can’t get past is this smells like a jagerbomb. Like identical. Makes me feel nauseous because of that. 1:1 of jagermiester and redbull 🤮 I really hope I don’t ruin this for someone else!
Lovely, warm, boozy, spicy, sweet and smooth perfume with a decent performance plus an effective silage. Same family as Eternity Flame. It's an easy like from me.
Similar to Diesel bad intense plus rum. Very good performance. Very nice scent.
People wont like this as they are snobs however this smells similar to Initio Parfums Narcotic Delight and Side Effect. However of course less performance which for this style actually works better. When i say performance i mean projection it gives a nice subtle bubble with the right amount of longevity.Perfect autumn date night scent
I received a decant of this last year along with 5 or 6 others. I briefly tried it on paper when I first got it along with a few others and completely forgot I even had it. It went into my fragrance storage and remained untouched for about half a year. I was going through my storage unit yesterday and saw it and thought I would give it another shot. I put it on today and was taken aback upon first spray, a familiar scent profile in the opening: reminiscent of Invictus Victory Parfum. As it dries down, it changes quits a bit. On opening, it's sweet and boozy, vanillic and slightly woody with a high quality pink pepper note. This is actually smells more interesting than Invictus Victory in my opinion. As it gets further into the dry down it's somewhat reminiscent of the opening of YSL l'Homme EDP except there is a very strong dry tobacco leaf base, almost a little tar like, and gives this fragrance such a strong foundation. It's really good, although not as unique compared to some other things that have come out since, but was definitely groundbreaking. I'm gonna be looking for a full bottle. Longevity and protection seem great for a budget offering. This seems like it would be best suited for cooler weather, although I think it could work on cooler spring and late summer days and nights where I live. 84/100
Yeah this is not it. Coming from someone with Niche, designer, cheapies and clones, this is not good! If you are considering buying a Joop you should go for Homme Parfum or EDP
Easily the best & most versatile in the JOOP! line, have a couple of bottles of this currently & have used it often over the years. There were rumours a year or so ago that this had been discontinued but it still seems readily available so I’m not so sure. If you’re not a fan of the original JOOP! Home pink liquid then you might like this, it’s more masculine & less feminine leaning than the OG with its overpowering sickly sweetness, this frag is inoffensive & strong enough to get you compliments without being overpowering. This is the kind of frag you can put on when you’re not quite sure what to wear, it’s pretty much good for any occasion or season imo.
Thanks Fragrantica mods for deleting my review btw, here it is again: I waited out for one whole year, my bottle was produced in late '22, and yeah, nothing changed. This is dog water, the smell is really good and addictive, rhum plus some sweet tobacco and spices, but the lasting power is abysmal, legit abysmal. I sprayed it on yesterday to try again and then went out with friends, it was just one hour after I sprayed and nobody could smell it on me, I am sure I didn't get a dud because I bought it from a reputable seller. It's a shame and it makes me mad because I like the smell of it but can't enjoy it in any way or case for the life of me.
Opening and walkthrough during first hour is like waking up in a fresh fruit salad while it's being sprinkled with pink pepper. Absolutely amazing and launches me to Mars and back. Like all sinful things, it works best when used occasionally and sparingly, as nose gets anosmic very fast- the reason why I use it only once a week.
This fragrance is an under rated gem! It is very long lasting linear but a good linear as the scent it awesome. sweet rum, tabbacco and freshness. This has surprisingly got me more compliments than most expensive frags that I own. This is one of the few frags that I bought a second bottle ( I own a lot of fragrances) as it is so great.
No need to gatekeep—especially not when there’s hatekeep around! Now, let’s settle this: Is synthetic a con? What about smelling like real, all-natural oud funk? Do you like smelling like a zoo? Cool, me too. Real men wear deer piss, right? Because it’s natural? Poison ivy is natural too. This stuff is delicious. I don’t give a damn what’s in your collection. I’m a grandpa—but the kind of grandpa the young ladies call sexy. Wanna learn something? I like this just as much as Scandal and SWY. And why does that sound crazy to you? Because Joop gets a lot of hate. Haters… well, they think everything sucks. Guess what, haters? It sucks to be you. 😂 Sorry the world is too good for your taste. Everywhere you read reviews, people feel the need to explain how it’s “not like their other one.” Well duh. I hope a house makes each of its creations different. But hate makes people blind—they think everything is the same. All white people are the same. All men are the same. All their colognes are the same. Blindness, close-mindedness, prejudice… the whole nine yards. The upside? I get great bargains from all the hate. People jump on the bandwagon like sheep. Ride on, MFs, ride on. They all think “they’re all the same”—🙄. Well isn’t that why they all jump on the trendy fag hate wagon. So they can be just like one another. . Ehhh I’m not going to stoop to that level. So let’s cut the crap and get to the truth. This is good and cheap and not a clone. It’s a tobacco formula, which means performance—it stays on your skin. Sure, your scent bubble might last 3-4 hours, but at this price? Who cares? You can easily make new scent bubbles. After all it performs well enough. This is well-balanced stuff. Tobacco notes, woody notes—they’re all harmonious. Savor it. Delicious. Hours of wear. And let’s be real: because of the hate, this could easily be a $50+ cologne from another house, discounted. It would still sell. Same goes for Joop Le Parfum. Ingredients? Looks like Armani—but without the hype. Not many originals in this price range smell this good and perform like this. Snobs? They’ll never guess you’re wearing Joop. They’ve never smelled it. They’ve never given it a chance. It’s clean, versatile, and I’ve worn it in summer nights—no complaints. But personally, I love it in fall and winter. Similar vibe to Ferragamo Uomo, but performs better. Joop Le Parfum? Same family, same solid performance. Blind-buy safe. Joop really tries to give you bang for your buck. And man… people have physically died from that bang! From the fallout. 🤣 So go ahead—give Joop some ❤️. Chef’s kiss. Muwahhhhh.
Definitely different to the Joop Homme and have had compliments where my friends had no idea which fragrance this was, which is good. Longevity just ain't there though, lasts couple of hours. Good value though for the 125ml bottle, worth a buy if you want that unique fragrance vibe
I was dying of thirst in the sahara desert and all i had was this. I HAD TO DRINK IT, now my doctor says i only have 4 and a half hours left, 10/10
Younger scent also for the more daring mature perhaps. The complexity comes with the drydown and is really like a more expensive perfume. It almost rounds off with a bit cypress I think! Well done for a basically free of charge perfume.
I believe my bottle has finally reached maturity after a year of sitting in the closet unused. Sprayed two shots on a napkin followed by a layer spray of vanilla....bellissimo! 🤩🤩 I'll be wearing this combo out in the morning to go shopping tomorrow! 🤠👍🏾
Kinda average. Peppery opening with that plasticy "rum" note in the beginning. If you want proper rum check Demeter Fragnances. I mean it ain't bad, it most certainly is not wild. Just this sweetish everyday scent. Smells like something AXE/LYNX would make.
Bought it because of Curlyfragrance because she described it as a tropical boozy one million. And I cannot describe it better. I’m looking forward to rocking this on a night out. I didn’t expect it to be this good. The projection and sillage are through the roof. Very boozy, tropical and sweet. This and Joop Homme EDP are soo underrated.
Geez man I just don’t know! All I know is I blind bought it several years ago, Lost it & bought another haha!! And now I have 2 bottles & bought a couple 100 ml tubes of Joop Homme Wild Shower gel & deoderant. “Yeah” I’d go crazy with this one & spray the hell out of it So no use in lying! I def did used to like it & prob still do…..I guess I never thought much into it…Thought booze yeah and then thought the purple bottle so was always thinking a candied type of black berry or grape…Im looking at the notes listed on here & I’m scratching my head thinking “Okay” If they say so cause I really don’t know….But “Sure” I’ll admit that I like it
I really love the smell of joop! Homme wild, its an affordable alternative to a top tier clubbing fragrance, longevity for me is 5-7 hours Projection lasts for 30 mins.
Wow this fragrance has seriously exceeded my expectations. I've had it on my radar for a while now however the price has fluctuated a lot and I have been waiting for the best deal possible. Firstly this is nothing like the original Joop Homme (which is great as it's a fragrance I dislike) and immediately it reminds me of a sweeter, richer version of CK one shock. Not only this but it also shares similarities to 1 million and Spicebomb Infrared which are both scents that I love. The scent is a rich, oriental fruity scent which my wife absolutely loves. She prefers fresh scents but she was drawn to this one as a date night fragrance. I can see this garnering lots of positive attention from women as it has the sexy aspects of popular fragrances like the ones I mentioned earlier. The performance is another phenomenal aspect to this fragrance. The scent projects heavily for 4hrs on my skin and has the capability to last around 10hrs which is more than what you would need if you were to use this as date night or clubbing scent. On clothes, the scent still lingers after its been through the wash so that shows how beast mode this scent performs for me. The atomizer distributes a tonne of juice and the bottle is also very nicely done. The cap is sturdy but a bit cheap and the font on the bottle is a bit gawdy however for the price it's a well put together package. This is the first Joop fragrance that I have owned and I am very impressed. I will definitely look into buying more in the future like le parfum as the bar has been set extremely high with this scent. Hopefully they are not similar to the original and more like this one.
I blind bought this and instantly regretted it. Very unpleasant dry down. I don't get any of the notes described here. At least it was cheap.🤷♂️ *EDIT* I use this every once in a while and it is still not my favorite but it's grown on me a bit. I still don't get the notes described here though.
beautiful and no one talks about it
A long lasting boozy and spicy perfume with a very good performance. It's unique too. Love it
Strong pink pepper opening, but it is not the same sharp, in your face, pink pepper as the original Joop Homme, but a more refined, well rounded pink pepper. Toned down by the rum notes which steadily drown the spice in its boozy veil. The pepper fades and turns into a manly rum soaked wood drydown with a hint of white tobacco. Longevity and silliage aren't quite as powerful as the original, but it still throws nicely and lasts 8 hours or so. I don't get "wild" from it, but rather a, "Joop grows up" vibe. (Which is not to say mature by any means). If you liked the sweet original in your 20's, you may enjoy this boozy flanker in your 30's.
Quick update: I am 80% sure I go noseblind to it, it's VERY strong for 30 minutes then I can barely smell it if I dig deep into my arm. I will have to test it around and will let you know. Smell is good tho, sweet and a bit boozy in a very unique way.
