Idk ABT this fragrance, it has a very off putting strawberry plasticky smell to it that really makes me gag, but the drydown is class though, it's overpriced for such synthetic materials, the base is just vanillin and galaxolide and other notes but it's still a good fragrance

Smells like you just came out of the shower. I mostly smell the rose, jasmine, and bergamot notes. The scent's pretty inoffensive (as long as you don't overspray), so I think this would be a safe blind buy if you love floral, especially rose, fragrances. The fruity notes are more prominent upon the drydown, I'd say.

Lancome Idole EDP. Super classy and sophisticated. Great perfume for women. Vert Long lasting with great preojection and sillage.

I will admit that it's taken me about 8 months to pull the trigger and purchase a full bottle of Idole. I first sampled it back in the fall (it's summer now) and it fell a little flat in the cool weather....all I could smell was ambroxan. I (like many) really have a hard time with ambroxan in a lot of cases. I have found it to ruin so many fragrances I love on a blotter, once I get them on my skin. But I kept revisiting Idole for some reason and today, on the hottest day of the summer so far (98F) I just couldn't walk away without buying a bottle. For starters, the pear here, which I often find just too syrupy in most compositions, is sparkly and fresh in Idole, crisp even. I'm also not a huge rose fan, but here it's bright and dewy, and perfectly enhances the jasmine, which is creamy and a note I DO love. The pepper adds ever so slight an edge, making Idole feel modern and young. I am a sucker for patch and dry cedar, which are in a proportion I vibe with here, with an underlying white soapy muskiness I love. It's almost a unicorn of notes for me... But the ambroxan...I can feel that it opens up a lot of the notes in Idole and brings definition and shimmer to them. It's lovely minerals, salt, and wet stone in a key and harmony I haven't experienced before with this synthetic. Usually ambroxan overwhelms my senses within a few mins, creating a kind of olfactory traffic jam, and a stifling, almost choking effect in my airways that crowds out any enjoyment of other notes. Not so with Idole...at least for a few hours. But it STICKS and at the end of the day, approaches very near that sensation. Luckily, with some adjustment in application, I can experience it as a well-mannered hostess, making sure her party hums along enjoyably, rather than the loud guest who pre-gamed and had to be cut off and shown the door 30 mins in. I don't know if it's the heat or the lack of humidity right now, but it's working and I'm glad bc I really do enjoy the other notes so much.

I chased a lady at the airport to ask her what she was wearing and she showed me a travel sized spray of lancome idole. She smelled freshly out of the shower, floral and very feminine. I got a mini bottle that I finally tested on me yesterday (it's not a spray so i just dabbed a little on my pulse points) and all I smell was a strong patchouli note, and roses, the type of rose fragrance that feels very mature , definitely elegant but it felt too heavy for warm weather, I had to scrub it off and I was still able to smell it even after I applied another perfume, such a disappointment but I'm not ready to give this one away, has anyone had a similar experience? Maybe it's just the opening and after that it evolves to the floral fruity shampoo that everyone talks about?

No longer a love. It is not appropriate for summer, too sad and moody. And I do not feel it after an hour or 4. Means it was hard to perceive it. While it lasted: A moody, clean rose. Perfect for the office in character. I love it in the spring. Then it lasts half a day on me.

Soapy, clean, crisp and a tad bit warm in a cozy way but still light and uplifting (the warmth disappears after a bit). A whisper of floral delicacy. Nice, simple, safe and pleasant.

I used to dislike this fragrance some years ago. My bestie's signature, which she would overspray to oblivion! It smelled so synthetic and incomprehensible to me, "too much" in a bottle. I recently gave the entire Idôle range a second chance after falling in love with the EDT randomly. The opening of Idôle EDP is certainly stunning. Freshly cut Pear & Bergamot, an explosion of Rose and Musk, warmth radiating from Vanilla. It is an invitation to walk into a hot, steamy, rose-pink bath. Irresistible and soothing. After about an hour the scent transforms into a floral-dominant thanks to oh-so clean Jasmine. Like a veil of cotton it mixes with the Musk, dispels the aquatic freshness and covers up the pink Rose. This phase somewhat reminds me of the texture and smell of baby wipes. Eventually all sinks into the base, unifying into a Rosy Vanilla Musk, which I prefer to the "wet wipes" phase. All in all, I really like this perfume. Great longevity and good projection, customary of Lancôme creations. Throughout its multiple facets it smells clean, proper, pink and put together, a true compliment getter! It didn't end up being my signature but its the original Idôle itself, the one that birthed a half dozen beloved flankers!

The entire Idole line by Lancome has impressed me. I have never been a rose fragrance lover until I got my nose on this line. They take the rose and transform her scent into poetry, balanced, smooth, soft and so well blended that the rose is the north star nestled into the milky way of other bright stars (complimenting notes) dancing in unison to create the most beautiful symphony of scent. I will be a Lancome Idole lifer, they will always be in my collection. Soft, romantic, sensual, feminine and gorgeous. LASTING and projecting is the most surprising gift with these. Quality is by far in a league of its own and affordable in my opinion.

I love this perfume. It’s an amazing mix of floral, fresh, sweet, musk, powdery, all in one. Makes me feel fresh and clean.

I didn't like the first sprey and the first half an hour but then I really liked the dry down scent on my skin. The dry down is very clean and sophisticated. Yet, I would delete the vanilla alltogether and tone down the opening pear and make it less sweet if I could.

Smells like when you strip away at a perforated page on a glossy expensive magazine to get a "sniff sample" of a newly launched perfume . And , I mean that in a good way . The PEAR in this is nicely noticeable and the rose is very mellow. This is as sweet and fem as they come . I get bored with a LOT of my perfumes but I have never gotten bored with THIS. The flaker of this (Nectar) is even better -- I like having both even though all the Idole flankers have a "sameness". Longevity is very good indeed . GRADE: A minus. This would make an incredible gift to a teen gal as her first "real" perfume that's a step up from T.J. Maxx junk. (I am a dude that likes ladies perfumes , just so ya know) . This is my second Lancome perfume after Nectar.

The first ever Lancome perfume that I like - and I just love it. I have gone through my bottle faster than any other perfume - not because it is not lasting, but because I have worn it every day. Many perfumes become very sweet and heavy on my skin, but this stays fresh and never overwhelming. The first rose perfume that I have enjoyed.

Such a pretty, elegant scent. It opens with a burst of sweet, juicy fruitiness before quickly settling into the most beautiful musky pear accord. The balance between the soft sweetness and clean musk gives it an effortlessly feminine, sophisticated feel. It would make a lovely everyday fragrance, especially during the spring and summer months.

The first 30 minutes is pure headache if you survive that then it smells like heaven and the projection is great. It has a great clean smell.

it's not super heavy but lingers long after you spray it. the muskiness is my favorite, i like how it mingles with the rose and almost enhances it.

I really love it, I am very careful when I buy a perfume with rose note but it isn't that kind of perfume that gives you a headache, everyone smells it on me love it and I had a lot of compliments when I wear it. The notes are very clear and clean I love to wear it at any time it is the best perfume for easy wear. Totally worth buying.

I thought I'd love this because of the pear. It is a very "perfumey" perfume. It smells like if you asked AI to make the "perfect" perfume for women. Not enough of anything to make me feel one way or another, just a mix of notes that make it meh- and something sharp. Will revisit later.

Reminds me of the smell of a perfume store — makeup, testers, and dozens of fragrances in the air all at once. Surprisingly, not in a bad way. I was actually expecting to dislike it because of the prominent rose notes, since rose usually gives me a headache, so I’m always a bit impressed when a fragrance manages to incorporate it in a way that works for me. Still, it didn’t truly wow me. That said, I only have a sample, and I’ll probably finish it, but I most likely won’t be buying a full bottle.

It surprised me how much I liked this one! It's somehow both sunny and icy, which I love. The pear is still attached to the branch, which is also in full bloom and placed in a fancy, iced drink and served to you on a beautiful, sunny day. It really embodies the elements of being clean, crisp and bright, but without the usual overwhelming soapy and / or citrus notes. Surprisingly unique and long lasting.

It reminds me of those generic Avon-type perfumes. The opening is sweet, floral, and slightly powdery. Nothing really special or memorable about it. Personally, it’s not playful enough for my taste.

I wore this shortly after it came out in 2019, and it got me so many compliments. After years away from it, I returned to it again last year and already finished another bottle, so I would say it has been a very nice time wearing Idôle. Now, is this a fragrance that will completely knock your socks off? No. But in the vast sea of “nice perfumes,” this is actually a really, really good choice. There is so much generic junk on the market that it sometimes feels like there are only two worlds: forgettable junk and then the truly high-class fragrances with all their complexity and artistry. But perfume does not work like that. There are many worlds in scent. It is simply a very pleasant, uncomplicated, versatile fragrance. Romantic, but office-friendly. Suitable for mature women, but also perfectly wearable for younger women. Sweet, but not too much. Fresh, but only lightly. It can feel uplifting, but also grounding at the same time. It is just… pleasant. It's there when you need it. I found myself reaching for it on easy days: going for a little walk with my pearl studs popped in, buying groceries, maybe stopping by a drug store to get a lipgloss, maybe sitting on a bench with a friend for a while. For that, I am not going to wear Poême. For that, I will wear Idôle. Idôle, I like you. You have been good to me. Maybe one day I will buy you again. Until then, stay as you are. Edit: A month after my review I bought a bottle again <3 I missed my daily companion.

This is a very versatile scent. It is a lovely fruity & floral perfume but with a twist as the pink pepper offers it a spicy interlude and gets this perfume out of banality. The bottle design is gorgeous and futuristic, definitely an eye catcher! Perfect rose crush to wear at the theatre with a ethereal & translucid pink dress, gold jewellery and rosey cheeks.

One spray in the air at Bloomingdales and I was in the checkout line. It had a sparkling sweet airiness. I brought it home and hated how it smelled on me . The rose was sharp and maybe too green. Then I revisited it an am so glad I did. This is rose. It is a bright feminine elegant rose that can lean slightly body odor like if you think too hard but enjoyable. This is a collection staple for me and is often complimented.
